Not a Chapter – A new story

Hey guys, Reigokai here!

I will be keeping this short. For the people that don’t know, World Reformation has ended! Like, a real end.

And so, what naturally comes after an end, is obviously, a beginning.

I have been reading a good number of stories, and I gotta say, there was one that I was planning on translating once I ended WR, but as expected, it was taken. I am happy and at the same time sad; a conflicting feeling.

However, I found another story that I smell something good coming from it. All I will say is that the name of the main character is Makoto and he has been through many otherworld summons which I found hilarious. I can’t say much about the story yet since I myself am beginning to read it, but it has definitely piqued my interest.

I will go in depth if I am to choose that one.

Though, this decision is not set in stone, so if you guys have recommendations, I would definitely love to read them!

Just to put it out there, I won’t be taking up any light novel projects since I wouldn’t want to have any legal issues that might come with it. Hence, I will only be taking web novels.

So, come at me! I am eagerly waiting for what you guys have to offer! :DDD

And if the next world I will be translating interests you, I would love it if you were to accompany us in that journey!

Onwards to a new Isekai!

  1. Thanks for translating WR at a suprisingly fast pace it wasn’t the best but it was good (a great plus is that it was translated well) if you want to translate another isekai Isekai de Mofumofu Nadenade Suru Tame ni Ganbattemasu. is one where theres a decent amount of chapter and has been inactive for while by some1 who been for over a year.

  2. Otsukaresamadeshita! As always thanks for translating the Chapters!

I would like to recommend “Isekai Kenkokuki” since the recent translator dropped it and I kinda liked to World Setting there and political conflicts there.

Though I don’t know if it piques your interest but I might as well try endorsing it. 🙂

Either way, as long as it’s isekai I will read it. But no depressing Isekai please, I was shocked on Nidome no Yuusha, Kuro no Maou and Goblin Slayer and kinda depressed me for a week there.

    1. I second that choice. Honestly I think there’s a lot of projects that people have dropped or been inactive on to choose from. Though I completely understand if Reigokai wants to start fresh with an untouched story. After all, there’s a ton to choose from as far as WN’s go.

(Although, I don’t mind dark stories. I just like for things to be well thought out and developed.)

The only other series I could think of off the top of my head was “Tsuyokute New Saga”.

      1. Checked it right now and it’s really is being translated.

I would like to recommend “Isekai Tensei Soudoki” but there’s someone translating it either(not really active though). Having 2 additional personalities in the protagonist is quite interesting to me.
The only thing I’m sure that’s not being translated is “Maken no Daydreamer”.

I Miss TgM, Side stories are not enough for me.

  3. Isekai tensei soudouki is pretty interesting. There are already a couple manga chapters out if you want to see what it’s about.

  4. Daily Transfer ~ I’ll become unparalleled in all worlds~
Higawari Teni ~ ore wa arayuru sekai de musou suru ~

    Please translate this wn…..

  5. Isekai kenkouki its prety good as isekai goes, so give it a go if you can

There was one whose name i cant remember but it was something about a guy that while buying stuff from a 24/7 gets a wife and two twins…actually i think thats the tittle, its a web novel from what i know, and the first chapter pf the manga its translated

  6. cool, just curious though what were you planning on translating and who take it.

pd: i ask because i bet is a good one

  7. TBH, with the consistency of your translations, and the fact that it will at least be a fantasy story, I think most will keep reading whatever you choose to Tl

  8. Arafoo Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikk

is what offer for recommendation. the translator for skeleton knight found this gem. only issue he hand was a lot of text to translate.

    thanks for the hard work

  9. Hehehe, and then the cascade of novel suggestions comes down. There really are a lot of good Japanese novels, but I suppose the reverse would be the same if I consider all the English novels I’ve read and would love to share with another language audience. Anyway, your new Makoto sounds like a character from ch. 7 of the Hero Union BBS manga (the Japanese name is too long) who would get summoned to another otherworld every 2~6 weeks after returning from defeating the Demon King the last time and got really sick of it. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

  10. A Certain Middle-Aged Man’s VRMMO Activity Log

I know this doesn’t fall under the isekai genre, but i would like to recommend it due to being right like one. The background plot is that an organization is developing self-aware AI. To further develop the awareness and personality of these AI, a vrmmo was release to the public as just another game in hopes that intermingling would bring change.

The protagonist is a middle age man that used to love being outdoors and adventuring, however can no longer do so due to his aging body and work. His adventure through this artificial world will led him to many interesting characters and events.

I don’t know if the previous translator has stop working on this project, but they haven’t release a chapter since the beginning of the year. There’s 500+ chapters and ongoing with only 100 some chapter having been translated.

  11. otsukaresamadeshita ‘ w ‘ )7
welp… if its suggestion like i would like it to be Sayonara Ryuusei Konichiwa Jinsei

    1. Isn’t the second the infamous novel where the protagonist gets skills by sucking milk breast? From the link seems that someone continues to translate it.

    1. Here here!

Man. I miss Hero BBS. There’s so much fun you could have with that sort of setting. Heck, it might as well be it’s own narrative universe that random people on a real message board could collaborate on.

A Hero, an Isekai, and…that’s about it. Even demon lords are optional. There is so much more to mess around with using those materials.

  12. All these people out here throwing out suggestions but you know what the real story we’d like to hear is?
How regiokai can constantly churn out such an abundant amount of decent translations ever 3/4 days! Please tell us how you do it! I’d love to hear how you go about your translation process too, if you’re okay with sharing your “trade secrets.”

    1. Well, it is a pretty simple story.

I liked anime and noticed that I absorbed japanese pretty well, so I challenged myself in learning it. Then, I dug deeper into it, transitioning to mangas, light novels, and lastly, web novels. That’s where I saw room for myself and said ‘hey, I want to try practicing my japanese and english here’. And so, I went blind.
I didn’t read tsuki beforehand or anything, I went blindfolded on my first endeavour as a translator.
I just wanted to try my hand at being in the translator side together with those people I respect.

There, I bonded with the readers and felt true joy from simply sharing a story with others as I read their comments as the story went on.

So, how I manage to translate at my pace? Enjoy it.

I may come out of the job tired, but I sit in front of the computer and translate, and I have fun doing it.
As I have said before, I began translation as a whim. What truly maintained me into translation for these 3 or so years has been the support from the readers and the joy I have found in it.
That’s why, I am thankful for it.

Also, a trade secret? Hmm, none.

The speed comes naturally with the time. The first time I began translating, I pushed myself real hard to translate unbelievable amounts of chapters and it eventually burned me out for a bit.
But now, whenever I watch anime or read a novel, my brain has gotten so used to translating japanese, it just automatically does it. So that’s part of it.

In summary, it is fun 😀

      1. Thanks for the response!

I was expecting a more technical explanation but it’s good to see the amount of passion behind each and every one of your releases. As cliche as it is, passion and drive really are just about the biggest factors for these kind of things and the sheer quantity of your translations is testament to that fact. I don’t think I can recall any others that even comes close.
Keep up the good work, we all appreciate what you do!

        Also, face reveal when??! 😀

      2. You decided to start something as an interest, pushed yourself to the extreme, and then got so into it that you eventually started treating the harsh workload as just a hobby.

Well…that would certainly explain your extraordinary luck for grabbing a decent long-running story like TsukiMichi on your first try.

  13. Ascendance of a Bookworm
there’s already some1 translating it but with 1 chap/week till 600+ who knows when its goin to finish 🙁 maybe help each other out??

  14. Hey Reigokai, if you can wanna take the torch in doing this one?
Jashin wo Kutta Shoujo wa Isekai wo Kyuusaishimasu

This is somewhat similar to Tsuki as the Bug Goddess in Tsuki hates Makoto because he is ugly in her eyes and tries to fuck his fate after being summoned, here in Jashin wo Kutta Shoujo yes it also has a Bug of a Goddess and hates our heroine Akane because she is a real beauty without her glasses and the Bug got jelly and totally fucks her life after being summoned.

    Here’s the summary:
Shimizu Akane, the main character who was summoned with her whole class. She alone was despised by the Goddess, even looking at her status all her ability was mediocre. She only had two skills, 「Incompetence」 and 「Free Dream」, nothing else was there even if you reached the magic section. Using the Goddess’s abhor as a motivation, she follows the path to calamity, resulting in confronting the Evil God. Either she dies in obscurity or pursue a path to happiness, she tries out her fate.

I already translated Ch.1 Part 1 – Part 7(½) so you can try reading it to test the water, but I’ll be glad if you are the one who pick up the torch in this wonderful novel.

    1. BTW, this is a free wn in alphapolis so no need to pay and I heard that you don’t know how to copy the text on alphapolis, it is quite easy just open the sourcecode of the chapter page and you can easily copy them.

If you wan’t then I can supply the raw text on this if you pick this up.

  15. Hii, first of all thx for all the work u have done, it was great 🙂
Secondly, like some other i recommend Jaryuu Tensei (Evil dragon reicarnation), but i rly believe in the novel u will choose.
I will love if the novel have some game elements (abilities or lvl system) and some romance 😀

Like all others I hope to see soon what kind of jewel u will bring ^^

    Best regards!

  16. Thank you very much for your hard work reigokai-dono!
And also “Shinwa densetsu no eiyuu no isekaitan” Please~

  17. Thank you for your time and work! You are awesome! As a recommendation, I would like to mention Maou No Utsuwa. Apparently it has been dropped, because the last chapter was translated last year. I can’t say if it’s good or bad, since there was only a handfull of chapters translated, but premise looks intriguing.

  18. Just curious what was the story had originally thought of picking up? Mostly because your choices have always seemed very good for me and I feel I would also have interest in said story too.

  19. A story about a repeat isekai-er? depending on the writing style, that could be all kinds of good! Though it’s hard to say more without knowing what themes it tries to hit.

As for recomendations… I don’t think anyone is translating the web novel version of Overlord? the light novel is so insanely good, that I’m really curious to see what the “original”, not-influenced-by-editors version was like… and apparently the story is completely different past a certain point, so it wouldn’t be a waste to have it translated either…

  20. Well if you think it’s an interesting story then I’m really looking forward to read it .if you decide to translate it that is ♡

    1. It was suggested before to Regokai but when he made the annoucent of the translation of World Reformation he mention this: “A close second was Sayonara Ryuusei Konnichiwa Jinsei.
But this fell in the points 4 and 5. Maybe in the future, when the point 4 is solved! (No, time machine is just a temporary one, and not one that actually solves it)”

    2. Here are the points he posted (the post was in July 20 2017) : “There were an incredible amount of suggestions, and of that, I am truly grateful. I checked them out and bookmarked some even. But these are the points that made most of them hard to pick:
      1. Only source is light novel. I want to steer clear from that area, mainly because of legal issues.
      2. The web novel raw had at least 1 year of hiatus. Ironic, I know.
      3. Some were already being translated? Uhmm…thanks for adding to my bookmarks.
      4. Alphapolis changing their policies. Apparently, alphapolis has now implemented the ‘pay to read’. First few chapters are free, but the next ones, you have to pay. Also, you can’t copy+paste there anymore (and I don’t know how to get around that).
      5. And the most important, personal preference 🙂”

      1. The new story he picked, Maputo Retry, hasn’t gone hiatus for a year yet, so I guess the 2nd criteria doesn’t matter anymore

  21. How about “Ouroboros Record ~Circus of Oubeniel~” ?
or “A Wild Last Boss Appeared” ?

Both of these are great (and I’ve read ahead in the raw for Wild Last Boss, and it’s an amazing series)!

Sadly, the translator of Ouroboros Record seems to have dropped it.
For the translation of Wild Last Boss, it’s abysmally slow(it takes months for a single new translated chapter to come out, and the translator focuses more on translating other stories and on translating Manga chapters. He’s even recently began re-translating all of his Slime Datta Ken manga scanlations, so he likely won’t be translating Wild Last Boss for months again… T_T)

    1. Oh, I forgot to mention that the web novel for Wild Last Boss is complete in Japanese, so you(Reigokai) would also be able to translate it fully. It’s a great series, I really hope you’ll pick it up.

  22. I want to recommend Genjitsushugisha no Oukokukaizouki, the translator hasn’t updated it for more than 2 months now. But, they don’t say anything about their hiatus.
Anyway, I still follow your blog for TsukiMichi, hope Azuma Kei writes another chapter soon. Thanks for your hard work Reigokai.

    1. Actually, for that one, the J-Novel club translation is already MUCH beyond, and it’s the Light Novel translation, aka the better version.
The one that fan translates the series only does so with the web novel translation. Also, as far as I know, he hasn’t dropped the translation.

  23. Wow, ill wait for this new novel and for the people waiting I have a suggestion until its come; i like the story and have many funny situations, well im saying that bcus i have ready it all including the raw, it worth to read

Thanks Rei, boku wa o tanoshimi ni

  24. Hey! Thanks for all the great translations as always!
I wouldn’t call this a recommendation necessarily, since I haven’t read the web novel, but I really enjoyed the little manga that has been released of it.
I wanted to read the web novel, but I decided not to, since so few chapters have been translated, and the translations stopped. Hope you check it out!

    1. Seriously i cant count how many novel ive read that the translator stopped translating. But with you Reigokai im pretty sure that youll finish it! Damn your one of a kind translator. Hoping youll translate more works. Though im not pushing you, rest is of course important.

  25. Anyone know tensei shitara slime datta ken?
    I think its good, maybe.

Btw, new here 🙂 thanks for translating tsukigamichi 🙂

  26. Sayonara Ryuusei Konnichiwa Jinsei…plz
-TSUKI GA MICHIBIKU ISEKAI DOUCHUU- that you translated was really fun too read that I think….i got addicted too it
(hope that the author gets even better soon so that the WN gets an update)

been here since tsuki ga michi chapter 1 and i gotta say your a really good translator and reading it in this site calms my nerve
(other translator site gave me stress reading you see XD)

  27. I would recommend Yasei no last boss ga arawareta. But I still don’t know if it is a light novel or web novel. If it is a web novel, please pick it.

    1. There’s both a LN and a WN for wild last boss. Also, the WN version is complete in Japanese and still available for free. I highly recommend it, and I hope Reigokai will choose it.

  28. Hi, I do not know if it’s WB or LN.
but there – partnership? (maybe) I’m not sure if he stopped translating or something happened to the translator, but it’s a good recommendation to read same case above is still unclear whether the translator will continue – says that translating more never leaves chapter (prblemas with the original?) – very good, very funny. even if the ones above – has a translator, with random launches with at least 2 months between them, TL already showed interest in dropping, translating forward – translation – slow, very slow – monthly and occasional translation, very long chapters

  29. Takarakuji de 40 Oku Atattanda kedo Isekai ni Ijuusuru plis.
the translator abandoned it, and before it took months to get new chapters. Thank you

  30. Reigokai how about an old LN series? There is an old series that is finished in 2006 that never saw any translation whatsoever and as far as I know no one holds the right for western release. I am pretty sure there won’t be any issues but I wonder if you are willing and/or interested.

  31. thank for your work reigokai, for picking another project here a suggestion
    “I was summoned in another world but the world is at peace”, there two group that translate it but stopped at chapter 5, i really want to know the rest ahaha -_-;

  32. Thanks for the hard work! As a novel which is still not being translated and is a good isekai, I recommend you “Lapis no Shinzou and “Isekai Meikyuu no Saishinbu wo Mezasou”. There are both in syosetsu if you are interested.

P.S:Agains thank you very much for your wonderful translations! And good luck ;).

  33. I already wrote some list of Web Novels and/or Light Novels which the translator did not updates for some times.. Multiples genre, not only isekai, some even has revenge or gore but what i wrote was novels that mostly abandoned by the translator, some of them still got translated but the delay is too long, and some of them was still fresh with few chapters translated..

Just give a look.. Hopefully you took interest in one of them or more.. Just ask nepu about this WN and LN raw was completed The author says he/shes gonna delete this maybe this is what TL will be translating Recently translating but sadly only rounds and circle on prologue and chapter 1, no real progress The translator seems hiatus On the note, the link for translated chapters are dead even though this series is translating on 2018 There’s WN and LN, you can choose one of those or both Funny story, the heroine is gorilla girl LN version

    1. Looks like half of your recommendations are 18+ and knowing Reigokai those 18+ novels are out of the question. And for Muno to Yobareta, it’s been officially passed to Easygoing Vice Translation so wait till they release their continuation.

      1. I just bookmarks everything about isekai, yandere, betrayal and a bit of gore and cruelty, but yeah, some of them are 18+..
But some of them really fresh novels too.. I mean, even if it’s already translated for some chapters but the rest still so far, probably..

Oh ya, before you are also translator but why did you quit being one??

        1. But I didn’t, I just don’t allow NU to put my releases on their database because those thieves use NU to steal the chapter releases. BTW my site is @, Cheat Majutsu, Skill Taker and Jashin wo Kutta Shoujo is still being continued there. Elf no Kuni is being rehosted there too.

      2. Really?! Glad to know.. Thanks, i will visit your web later..
So now you are independent translator?? Just do the best..

Glad to know you are still translating novels, nepu..

  34. wowowow
go easy guys, there are alot of good dropped novels but keep that in mind that Rei wish to do a fresh WN one if possible

  35. Thank very much for translating WR, and in such neckbreaking pace! It’s been a while since i can binge reading light novel.

I really hope that you could translate 6 World series by Rifujin no Magonote Ouryuuou Ancient Dragon Noblesse Oblige

While these stories have been translated before, it’s always stuck in the middle. So i hope you can restore them to it’s full glory. And once again, thank you very much

  36. Thx for all the hard work Reigo-san 😋

I’m one of the ones who stopped (temporarily, just haven’t found the drive to finish) reading WR.

For me the things that killed it is it’s cringy romance and kind of H stuff. 😐

But now that it’s completed I’ll try to finish it.

I’m sorry for bugging out on the novel 😅

  37. thank you for your translations.
I would like to recommend Cursed Sword Master (Makenshi no Maken Niyoru Maken no Tame no Harem Life)
Although I only read what has been translated and the project was not put to English well it had promising elements. “un”thankfully this novel has had no activity so it should be up for grabs.

  38. How about Konjiki no moji tsukai ?
A good read in my opinion
    The story is end too.
The previous translator seems to be dropping it , and i would very much like it if you pick this 🙂

Ore no Osananajimi wa Joshikousei de Yuusha
Typical MC material gets transported to another world to help in his childhood friend’s mission. Usual setup but the twist is: the MC is not the real hero or even the real MC, he is a plot device. Arina, the one with op powers and the actual hero? but she wants to realize her yandere fantasies with Yuuki (the mc) in the other world.

There’s time travel, parallel worlds, butterfly effect and a fooled man of justice. (Author clarified that there will not be netorare in the story).

Original translator dropped the project after the author went into hiatus for some months.

  40. Yuusha Party no Kawaii Ko ga Ita no de, Kokuhaku Shite Mita (WEB NOVEL version)

The Demon Lord is slayed and the peace is back in the world, or is it?
Youki, a reincarnator used to be a floor boss in the Demon Lord’s castle till the fateful day when he met the hero party’s healer. He proposes to her and therefore deserted his position. In the post-demon lord era, he is in Cecilia’s hometown living as adventurer and working hard everyday to short the distance between him and Cecilia, dealing with the post war problems and causing more troubles than not dut to his critical level of Chuunibyou.

Some guy translated some random chapters advocating that was for training and then he disappeared.

There’s also a Light Novel version but the translator released like only 5 chapters per year so they are still at the beginning.

    1. Saihate no Paladin is indeed interesting, but the author or a publisher asked the original translator to take it down.
That’s probably why no one has taken that project.

  41. Hi there,

First i want to say thanks for working on WR, i just recently finished the story. Want can i say its a nice ride. Thank you.

As for story suggestions, i know its kinda late but can you work on Gunota ga Mahou?

I can assure the twist that will happen on the story is suprising, heck even the title is already a spoiler if you will read it along the way

    Thanks again

        1. Yeah, the main reason I like the story is because the character makes his own equipment. My favorite kind of character in any series is that he makes his own gear. That and I enjoy people who fight with dual short blades like Bell from “Is it Wrong to Pick up a Girl in the Dungeon” or the MC from “Grimgar”.
