It goes without saying, but it is the Apostle of Noah-sama 1,000 years ago.
Evil God Apostle, Black Knight, Mad Hero…a really infamous Demon Lord with many nicknames.
That Demon Lord’s most famous nickname is Hero Killer.
In the picture book of the Legend of Hero Abel, most Heroes were killed by the Demon Lord Cain.
There’s a lot of Heroes currently in Laberintos.
The situation is bad.
But the situation worsened even more.
“Demon Lord Cain!!”
Hero Abel shouted with a completely different voice from his usual, filled with violent emotions as he ran out from Laberintos.
That’s right, revenge for the Fire Hero that was the mentor of Hero Abel.
Hero Abel is forgetting himself in his anger.

Julietta-san and Volkh-san chased after him.

Speaking of. Seems like it really was 10 years. I was puzzled from remembering more, but looks I confused it with the statement that she "hasn't been successful in 1000 years."
Looks like we're doing battle with the Apostle-senpai. I guess this would be the moment the remaining heroes die in the original timeline. Possibly an initial batch during the early encounter, but then Abel rescues Momo, defeats Bifrons, then returns here. Johnny's faction is rendered unable to ignore the demon threat anymore due to this attack and the survivors join forces. And Anna....is somewhere.
Undine...was actually messing around? Maid outfit, even? I didn't realize she had that much personality, but this works out. If there's one thing Takatsuki Makoto is good at, it's sweet-talking ladies it's normally impossible to seduce.
His ability to seduce women is top-notch. His chad smile and his way of handling women when they are in crisis are his main weapons.
And maybe Makoto's the sole reason Johnny became a good womanizer in the future lol

However, Johnny definitely needs to teach Makoto how to handle women. I would imagine the following scenario:

It just occurred to me. Noah-sama can only get a NEW believer every 10 years. But Makoto isn't actually new. If he takes out Cain, couldn't he slot right back in since Noah's number of believers maxes at 1?
As for "hasn't been successful in 1000 years", it's because the 7 goddesses have jurisdiction over the natives. So the only candidates left are those from other worlds, of which all but one was claimed...
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, at least. A fight for the right to be the Apostle, you might say.
And I was mainly referencing a discussion last chapter where I was convinced Noah could only get a new believer every 100 years.
I'm fairly sure it's not that it's maxed out at one. It's that she can only get a new believer every ten years. So even if Cain dies here, Makoto will still have to wait until ten years has passed since Cain was made believer. And I doubt the whole "technically not new" technicality would fly here, otherwise, why would Noah even need to make him not a believer to begin with?
She's limited to one. My proof is in Chapter 223, Noah makes the following statement when she rescinds Makoto's apostleship.
“I have a different Apostle 1,000 years in the past. You won’t be my believer anymore when you go there anyways. My believers are fixed to 1 after all.” (Noah)
Except, here's a copy paste from exactly this chapter :

Increase, you understand what it means? From zero to one, one to two, and so on.
it is possible Cain is being lied to by the demon lords. It might be the demon god promised Noah if she take their side.

So it's not so much that the goddesses have jurisdiction like I said earlier. It's that the natives are taught that Noah is evil so they are prejudiced against her. I was right about the otherworlders portion though.
Makoto is a special case for the otherworlders because he's very weak. Weaker than the average citizen if I recall correctly, so no one wanted him.

Basically, the main issue with the whole 'not being successful in a thousand years' is because the game is rigged against her. Not only is she limited to only one every ten years, she's also known by basically everyone as an Evil God. Add to that Cain's reputation, and the only natives who would even consider becoming her worshipper are the ones with questionable grasp on sanity to begin with.
And the issue with answering in the positive here, is that Abel is likely within earshot. How do you think he'd react if Makoto sounds like he's going to turn coat?
I would say that every other witness might be more of a problem, but Takki has earned enough admiration from Abel for him to at least give him the benefit of the doubt until he explains himself.
But considering how Abel reacted to Cain's presence earlier, is it really a bet you want to make : whether Abel can rein himself in or just goes ballistic?
Consider the bigger mission here. He can't take that opportunity at this time. Getting chummy with Cain right in front of the others including Abel... getting chummy with the person who killed Abel's master would be more than a small problem. And probably whatever he said would be directly heard anyhow.
Makoto has already claimed to receive an oracle from Athena. So letting on that he's with Noah is a big no-no too. They'd only see Makoto as an enemy who was tricking them, and he's suspect enough without that!
Also, Noah CANNOT have more than 1 follower at once. This has been expressly stated (hence Noah removing him as a follower before sending him back because she can't have 2 at once anyhow at that point). Upon them dying (or otherwise no longer being a follower), she also has to wait to recruit another. Only in the future/present (however you look at it) did that get lifted by Athena, but it is still fully in effect at the point Makoto was sent to.
No no no no. It's not that Noah can't have more than one follower at any one time. It's that she can't get/recruit more than one follower every ten years. It's mentioned right in this very chapter. So theoretically, if she can recruit a follower, who can stay alive for more than ten years, and then she can recruit again before said first follower dies? She can have two followers, you can go from there. Problem is, turnover rate is high, and interest is as low as it gets, to the point that she might not even get any successful recruitment until a thousand years has passed (see Cain and Makoto). And a thousand years is more than even an elf's projected lifespan, which is the longest in the data we have currently. It's why there needs to be more than just the lifting of the limit, but also placing Noah as an official Eighth Goddess, basically undoing her Evil God reputation, if she were to have any prospect at making use of the lifted restriction at all.
Hasn't it occurred to you that there could be more than one restriction? Yes they stated the recruiting within 10 years restriction, however the story has stated MULTIPLE times that Noah cannot have more than one follower at one time. For a recent example there is chapter 222

Limitations - plural. And "How many believers" is obviously not speaking of just a time limitation, but the total amount. The time limitation on top of that stops Noah from using a believer as a throw-away piece since she then needs to wait 10 years to replace the single believer.

Oh, there could certainly be multiple restrictions. The issue is that so far, the only restriction Makoto seem concerned about is the "only one follower every ten years" thing. Even in this chapter we have :

If there is indeed a restriction along the lines of "only one follower at a time, ever," then shouldn't that be the more pressing concern for him to think of? After all, if such restriction exist it doesn't matter whether or not the "one every ten years" restriction exist, she can't recruit, period.

I'm back and this chapter was worth the wait. Man, I didn't think there would be two dense people involved with Noah. Plus, you took us to another cliff. Undine has got to look really good in the maid outfit.
