Momo and Abel shout.

If I remember correctly, it was from Furiae-san.
That she could see the Strings of Fate as a user of destiny magic.
Bifrons is using Strings of Fate to control vampires…?

“Yes… I can hear the voice of the Demon Lord-sama, but I can move my body freely. But I think I can’t go far away from the Demon Lord Castle.” (Momo)

I pondered for a bit, and used the Perspective Change of RPG Player to check Momo.

I couldn’t see anything at first, but…I slowly managed to see string-like lines that were extending from Momo.
Oh, looks like I can do it.
Within all of those, there was one red string glowing ominously like blood.
It must be this one…
This is what’s tying down Momo.
Because of this string, she can’t go against Bifrons.
If I could cut this…
I take out the dagger of Noah-sama from its sheath.
“Makoto-san?!” (Abel)
“M-Makoto-sama?! What are you going to…?!” (Momo)
Hero Abel and Momo raised their voices in surprise.
Of course they would react like that if I were to unsheathe my dagger all of a sudden.
“Momo, trust me. Can you stay still?” (Makoto)
“…Yes, I trust you.” (Momo)
When I asked this, Momo nodded as if she had resolved herself.
“Thanks.” (Makoto)
I wrap destiny magic mana around the dagger of Noah-sama.
And then…slowly cut the blood red string extending from Momo.
“Hau!” (Momo)
Momo quivered.
“Momo!” (Makoto)
I hurriedly catch her in my arms.
“…Haah…haaah…haaah…” (Momo)
I could hear the rough breathing of Momo from her small mouth.
I waited for her to calm down.
“Momo-chan, are you okay?!” (Abel)
Abel must have gotten worried too, he came running.
“M-Makoto-sama…” (Momo)
“Momo, can you still hear the voice of the Demon Lord?” (Makoto)
“Makoto-san, just what in the world did you…” (Abel)
Momo fixed her breathing, and she looked at me with her red eyes.
“I can’t! I don’t hear the voice of the Demon Lord-sama anymore. Also, the pressure that was tying my heart is gone too!” (Momo)
“?!”
Alright, it went well.
As expected of the dagger of Noah-sama.
It can cut anything.
“What did you do just now, Makoto-san?” (Abel)
“I cut the String of Fate.” (Makoto)
“…Huh? No, there’s no way…” (Abel)
“Momo, are you free now?” (Makoto)
“Yes…it is completely different from just a moment ago. I have been freed from what was tying me. Makoto-sama…that’s amazing.” (Momo)
Momo grabbed my sleeve with spellbound eyes.
It feels weird having her make that kind of face when she looks like the Great Sage-sama.

It should be able to do at least that much.

A voice as if ridiculing us resonated and a squall of wind blew.
The Mist that I made with water magic was cleared out.
At the other side of the cleared up mist…there’s demons and monsters surrounding us, their eyes directly looking at us.
We are surrounded from all directions.
A trap, as expected.
Even within the demons and monsters surrounding us, there’s a demon who pulls my attention.
A demon in his prime of life wearing red armor and helmet.
He is more than 2 meters tall and the mana covering his body was stronger than any demon around.
“Impenetrable Demon Balam…” (Abel)
I heard Hero Abel gulping.
I have heard that name before.
Momo and the Earth Hero-san told me about it.
One of the confidants of Demon Lord Bifrons.
“But the Earth and Wood Hero are not here, huh… The only one here is the Lightning Hero. The other one is…a weak human. A miss.” (Balam)
Balam brushed his beard while saying this unamused.
“The Demon Lord-sama told me to capture all Heroes aside from this so-called Light Hero. But cut off their legs so that they don’t run away again.” (Balam)
““Yes sir!””
The subordinates of the demons responded to the order of Balam, and the monsters roared in response.

The demon lord army isn’t aware that Abel is the Light Hero?
I glanced at the person at my side.
Hero Abel is on guard of the surroundings with a nervous expression.
He didn’t react to the words ‘Light Hero’.
There’s a number of points that bother me, but we must overcome this first.
I pulled Momo closer by the shoulder in order to protect her.
Momo held my clothes tightly.
She is trembling.
But it is not from fear…it is a different emotion.
She is glaring at the confidant with eyes of hatred.
It is the first time I see those kinds of eyes from her.
“Momo…did he do something?” (Makoto)
“He is…the one who devoured my mother…” (Momo)
“?!” (Makoto)
When I met Momo, she told me that her mother died 3 days ago.
It has already been several days after that, but it must be a fresh memory in Momo.
The memory of her mother being killed.
I don’t know how that chagrin of being used by the killer of your mother could feel.
“Makoto-san, we are surrounded. There’s not that many. We should aim for one point to break through, and run away -before reinforcements come.” (Abel)
Hero Abel whispers to me.
Hearing this, Momo nodded hatefully.
“…Within the confidants of Bifrons, General Balam is the one with the most seniority. He is really strong…” (Momo)
“Right, we must not fight him. Let’s run.” (Abel)
Abel nodded at the words of Momo.
The voices of the two were filled with tension and stiffness.
“Makoto-san?” (Abel)
“Makoto-sama?” (Momo)
“…”
I didn’t answer the call of Abel and Momo.
I look around.
The hundreds of monsters and demons surrounding us.
They all must have the Divine Protection of the Great Demon Lord, I could sense powerful mana from them.
They must be monsters far stronger than the ones in my present.
It is a despairing situation.
And yet…my heart was at peace.
Even though I am in this kind of situation, the words that surfaced in my mind were ‘not even a match’.
…Is it because of my Skill?
(Clear Mind…undo.) (Makoto)
But it didn’t change.
My heart wasn’t shaking at all.
It was completely calm.
This must be that.
Noah-sama is not here with me now, so I can’t talk to her which is a shame, but if she were here, I am sure she would have told me…
‘Makoto! Kick the ass of these small fries already!’
“Right, Goddess-sama.” (Makoto)
When I muttered this, Hero Abel and Momo looked back.
“Momo, as an apology for being late in getting you, I will avenge you.” (Makoto)
“It may not have been explained the best, but it is as I told you…
“Uguo… That felt terrible…” What I saw within my vision was an endless white space.…
It is not like I was certain, but I did think that we might end…
“Eh? It wasn’t that you came to visit me?” (Furiae) “Aah, yeah…you could say that.”…
There may have been cases when I would begrudge my own lack of strength, but…

Am I the only one who fully realizes that we are currently enjoying watching Makoto descending into madness?
Still love it, though. I think author does a good job focusing on how *wrong* Makoto's actions and conduct look from the local people's point of view. Reigo-san is also great at what... he?.. she?.. err, sorry, they do.
He's going mad? Nah i don't think so. If only i think he has nerves of steel.He's playing an isekai in hell mode
Here, my friend, I'd like to remind you that this chapters ended with Makoto willingly preparing to unleash the slaughter. Well, he has his reasons, but nonetheless. I'm also fairly certain that we'll get to see his innocent smile™ in process. Hell, I'm waiting for it.
Makoto doesn't descend into madness though. Not at all. This is just his usual self. The same Makoto who decided to pursue Alex's death even in front of his elder Sister, Althena Herself. Whom even the (acting) head Goddess must bargain with before he's willing to let the issue go. The same Makoto who is all too willing to use his lifespan as a resource. The same Makoto who treat a sure-kill technique based on consigning its victims into getting their existence devoured, one bite at a time, as just another tool in the shed. It's an absolute rarity, moments where he decides on things seemingly based entirely on emotions. Yet one can also say that it's not based entirely on emotion, he knows Momo wanted vengeance, he knows he can avenge Momo, he knows that currently, there is no risks in doing so. All accounted for, there is no reason to not do it, so why not do it?
No-no-no, acting the same as usual and acting sane isn't exactly the same thing. You probably haven't noticed, but our protagonist wasn't quite fine from the start already. I like him for this, though
That's my point though. He's not descending into madness if he's been mad from the start.
Ah, well, that's one way of looking at it. I can't help but feel it's progressing slowly but surely, though.
The same Makoto who's last moments was being surrounded by his dead friends but still calmly playing video games.

The mental health aspect is handled very well IMO.
But I'd warn you it goes through a few different translators, and not all of them are great. We're spoiled by Reigokai on this Weakest Mage and Tsuki. But all the same I do think it is a pretty great series worth a good binge read.

Ah yes now that certainly was a ride following his journey trying to survive the early stages of the tutorial. I wonder when he'll finally summon the reptile lady (forgot her name ) is there something he still needs to do first?
He's not descending into madness though, that's just what he is.
He always seeks impossible challenge, due to his gamer brain. He enjoys that kind of scenario, and acted on that impulse. Remember back when he's still a kid, bringing stones just to see how fast the police would react because "he wants to create a scene similar to the game he played".
Also see manga chapter 1, he is the guy who still tries to finish his game even while dying due to hypothermia.
He doesn't have a screw loose, that screw has already been lost forever since his childhood.
In fact, I'd guess that the reason he got RPG player skill is due to his original personality.
So this is the arc where Momo joins Makoto's harem I guess. I mean he previously saved her from being eaten by monsters and now he has come back to rescue her and free her from Bifrons' influence and he's just about to avenge Momo's mom by killing the vampire who ate her mom. Basically Makoto has cut one Red String of Fate and tied another between himself and Momo.
Now this Balam guy is super dead. I'm pretty sure I remember they said that Bifrons had only two famous confidants, Shuri and Setekh so I'm guessing this Balam guy that supposed to be the most senior confidant gets so thoroughly destroyed that history doesn't even record him.

A line in this chapter that stood out to me was; "It can cut anything."
It got me thinking. Obviously it's not just the dagger, but that he imbued it with fate magic to cut fate. He's making the dagger stronger. Now then, how did the scythe of Chronos lose it's tip in the first place? What if it was Makoto who cut/s it off with it's own future self?
What do you mean lose its tip? I'm fairly sure the whole thing was broken, and then the pieces got remade. The thing probably broke during the war between gods.

So yeah, it was broken then.
The destiny magic trick would probably allow any weapon to interact with those strings. Just that, on weapons without the dagger's ability to cut anything it's a meaningless trick.
Just kind of assumed that it was the scythe's tip since it is a dagger and it doesn't say 'reforged' and we already have time shenanigans. but yeah I agree it's a stretch to think Makoto will go back in time even further to fight in the war between gods. The god-killing effect of the dagger is probably required to cut the thread of fate, or Abel at least thinks so.
Yep, and maybe it's actually possible to cut it with just Destiny Magic. Just that it'd take more than Elementary level one. At the very least it shouldn't be as easy as cutting with any old sharpened metal wrapped in Destiny Magic mana. If it was that easy then a parent vampire's control over their progeny wouldn't be such an issue.
