It's good to know that even though he's no longer Noah's Apostle, he at least got to keep his dagger. Also it's good that being in this era has powered up Makoto's water magic. Sure some of that strength probably comes from having 999 water magic proficiency but a large part probably comes from the fact that this is an era where the Holy Gods' influence is very weak so stuff like spirit magic wouldn't be impeded.
That girl must be important. Why else would RPG Player give him the choice to save her or not? Why do I get the feeling she's the Great Sage pre-vampirification? The Great Sage looks physically around 10-12 when she was first described and this mystery girl also happens to be around that age. Plus they're in Bifrons' territory and Bifrons was the one who turned the Great Sage into a vampire so maybe something will happen here with this girl that will lead to her becoming the Great Sage.
Anyways speaking of Bifrons, Makoto should kill him again. He already killed him in the future. Now he should also do it in the past to make him super dead. I wonder what effect that would have on the crystal Makoto got from killing Bifrons previously? Would he end up with a duplicate after killing Bifrons in this era too? Would the first crystal disappear? Or would a second one fuse with the first to make a super crystal? For that matter, what if he uses the Sacrificial Offering on this era's Shuri too?
If that happen then makoto future fight between shuri and bifrons would butterfly effect or something like that. I pity Ira one who's fixing the damage 😂
I was wondering if it's okay that Makoto has brought that dagger back ... I mean it's a divine object and that it exists in the past, but on second thought maybe it's connected to how Noah changes sides and how 1000 years later she finds Makoto.
Similar to El Hazard , the arc about Ifureta who send him back in time cause her past self from obtaining feelings.
Mc is also named Makoto. Mizuhara Makoto to be precise.
Does it exist in the past though? I'm fairly sure it's something made for Makoto. The scythe fragment that gets turned into the knife might still exist though, so I guess there's an extra, knife-sized scythe fragment running around in the past now with Makoto.
Would be funny if he can go Back to the Future (no DeLorean sadly) with an extra copy of that knife though.
It was made from that scythe, but the scythe was destroyed in the war between Jupiter (zeus) against the Old Gods (titans) long ago. Noah is the last of the Old gods, Noah did not create the dagger she only gave it to Makoto.
Hmm, I'll admit that saying it was made for him was my assumption. With that being said, IIRC nothing is ever said about it existing as a dagger in the past either. Only thing we can say is that the fragment itself does exist, whether as a fragment, as a dagger, or as something else. The more interesting part is still that there's one extra fragment now, in the form of Makoto's dagger. Either it's important or it's not.
In fact, it's probably because Makoto has to meet him in the future that Bifrons wouldn't be completely killed here. Otherwise, that'd make a temporal paradox. And then Ira will have to do unpaid overtime work for the next thousand years.
If I remember correctly and I make no guarantees that I do, Bifrons was "sealed" originally, not killed. By I forget by who. So it's possible Makoto will turn him into an ice sculpture thinking that the hero will put him down later like how he froze that fish army and just never get back around to finishing him off?
Bifrons' corpse was sealed. That's why the demons needed to perform a resurrection ceremony. You wouldn't need one if Bifrons was only sealed but not dead.
Thanks for the chapter! I guess that that girl is the Great Sage since she is a loli from 1000 years ago and that she favors Makoto too much for him to be just her blood bag. Also I think that Ira will not adjust the history because what Makoto is doing is the real history that Great Sage knows.
Makoto's spirit magic is really effective. Is this the side effect of makoto becoming spirit king (before killed by eir and got resurrected again) or because the influence of holy gods is still low in this era?
And a loli! Is she possibly the great sage before turned into vampire??
