Makoto was given access to (affinity) access by Ira which Ira governs time and space, now with the RPG skills that forces makoto to go back to the present with the promise to lucy. Time travel to the present is possible. Makoto just need to train his destiny magic or find a time spiwto make it happen.
There still some things are suspicious to me. When makoto and noah first seen each other, The RPG skills appeared and say that " will become her believer? " but in this case when makoto, it didn't appear when he was ask if he "will save the world or destroy it? " probably noah knows something about the hidden effects of the RPG skills or how powerful those choices.
And last when great sage was ask if they met in the past. She didn't answer immediately, which i conclude that she lied to makoto and makoto is the mysterious member, meant in immortal king. Speaking of lie, noah and athena is hiding something they didn’t stop makoto to mess with past. Which i conclude that makoto do something in past that they keeping it a secret and Noah is not even sad if his follower gies to the past.

I think you're thinking about the time travel incorrectly. We are all capable of traveling through time: in a fixed forward direction at a rate of one second per second. The key to returning is somehow sealing himself so he can awaken after he's gone back in time.
I think the correction in the distortion of history has actually already taken place, and is the timeline we're familiar with. The original timeline likely leaks through near the point of return because it absolutely can't be modified. It doesn't make sense that the light hero would be downgraded from a savior to a normal hero as an effect of the attempted time-assassination. If those ripples started to spread it would reveal a world of demons, not something so lukewarm. Instead, it seems likely that it was only with Makoto's aid that the savior managed to be the savior In the first place. Which makes me suspect Makoto is sleeping in the Great Sage's residence as foreshadowed.
If that's the case though, idk whether she was lying about not meeting him or if her memories near the time fulcrum were also fixed to the original timeline. I lean to the latter, however, due to her uncharacteristic coldness here. The foundation of their odd closeness was likely the memory of the past, after all.

Well, that's was my speculation so 🤗 still don't know anything , i need more info. But this just my theory, but with makoto's way of thinking or do things, was my base on my theory. If he can travel to the past with help of a portal( time travelling gate) , why do the same thing and go to the present? Rather than Freezing himself to wait. Also there's only a coffin but it didn't give a new hint if he was sleeping there or someone there? It only represent a coffin nothing else would support a clue if makoto sleeping there, what if it just bed of great sage, cause she a vampire ( Dracula myths reference, 🤔 ) . So makoto was freeze himself and slept there, has a low chances.
But with makoto's hardcore training with his new power. The Possibility of making a Portal ( time travelling gate) has a high chances of him doing it.
Remember he made a promise that after saving the savior abel and the past is at safe. He would come back {immediately or instantly }, (base on my understanding of the words like his forcing makoto) if my speculation is right. Then after he finish his job he would go back immediately. So I would still believe that makoto would create a gate, that would help him go back to the present {immediately} rather than freezing himself. And of course with the help of time spirits. This made go this speculation cause, noah just show the power of the time spirit ( which made speculate that he showed to makoto, knowing it's the key going back) I don't think noah would just forgot, and directly show his appearance and causally turn back time, if she can just erase their memory(well she can manipulate it cause you know after he turn back time using spirits, the people around makoto still remember it🤔🤯) .
So, if there's a new clue that would support that makoto freeze himself or sleeping there, i can just change my theory, easily so right know I'm just temporarily stick to making a gate with help of time spirits. 😁🙏
When the choices pop up with Lucy's promise, Furiae is looking scared, so I guess there's that for RPG player skill flag. My bet that it's something that'll allow Makoto to have a path to ascent to godhood along with courting Noah in the process

Why didn't he ask for something more to help him? Like divine weapons or armour? I'd have at least asked Althena to max out my lifespan to 100 so I'd have enough time to think up a way home or to sacrifice for a spirit powerup.
Hes already got a divine weapon far stronger than anything they could provide in his dagger. Agree with the lifespan thing but lets be honest hes gonna be killing a tonne of demons so his lifespan issue should be very quickly resolved.
he need to be 'weak' and 'inconspicuous' so that the demons doesnt detect him being sent to the past. getting power ups like that will defeat the purpose.
Why would an object of great power traveling through time not be detected, if a person of medium power would be? There's Noah's dagger, but I suspect that's undetectable because it's instead far too powerful.
There's nothing he can equip except the dagger because he doesn't have the required stats for it remember?

Let’s address the elephant in the room.
Ira-sama shares her present and past memories???? That one statement alone brings out so many questions.
Why doesn’t she remember Makoto then? How far defines present and past? Is it more of a system where she has memories of her future self, but it is like an archive she has to search manually to get? What kind of restrictions does it have?
The fact that she doesn’t know Makoto in the present must mean a few things. Something happened to her memories.
The biggest possibility I can think of is that Ira reseted her memories to maintain the events of the timeline stable.
The other is that it has to do with Makoto’s RPG Player messing up the timelines in some way that even Ira’s ability is all funky.

No i don't believe something happened to her memories.It's about Makoto being the “Irregular” like how Furiae's future vision changes when Makoto is around and Ira not being able to predict the future of times Makoto interferes past can still change. Meaning the past Ira's memories that interfered with Makoto can't reach future Ira because it hasn't happened in the past yet either.
That's my guess but it's confusing haha
If it worked just like normal memory she should know literally everything, and she clearly doesn't. Maybe she only knows story that's already 'written'? As in her past self will know the future only because it already happened to makoto who then came to the past? Or maybe it works just like future sight that can't see makoto and the snake church clearly.
Or maybe the author just derped giving her an unplanned for power, lul.

1. Ira-sama didn't remember Makoto at all because she in fact hasn't meet Makoto up until now and the past history just changed right now, when Makoto and friends transported to the another world
2. Just like your speculation where Ira-sama's memory got resetted

We can't say for certain except we understand ther author's way of thinking or we know the end of the story where we finally can make proper conclusion based on the story. The former one is the best way to know how it works though
Author is confusing me too. He gave too many hints about Makoto being the hidden hero party member but now he's saying past starts changing. So there was another hidden mvp in the past that got forgotten? Or it was Makoto and Goddesses keep lying
Wait or maybe demons can remember the past Makoto interfered in the current timeline. When you think about it only demons mentioned the hidden party member. Demon King Bifros and his blind aide. What if because they were the ones that interfered with the past, they can remember how their plans got crushed by Makoto in the past either?
Just thought about this now and it makes sense to me honestly
As someone who likes time traveling stories, I think that probably means that there might be no paradox yet but there will be one, which is why Makoto "can't return". That is, the current timeline's past wasn't affected by Makoto but is in the process of being changed by the Great Demon Lord and Makoto. So, even if Makoto returns, he will return to a present that is different from the one he knows. A new timeline, where a Makoto from the present must go to the past in order for the present to exist.
The only way for Makoto to return to the current timeline would be if he is able to revert each and every change in the timeline that he and the GDL cause, that didn't exist in the original timeline, without anyone, specially Ira, learning about it. Otherwise, it'd be a new timeline again.
And in regards to making that possible, either by reverting the changes or simply making them unknown to everyone (Gods included), it could involve the new skills he got. Remember? Noah used [Time Spirits] and Makoto just got [Destiny Magic]. It could be a possibility since he went back to a time where the influence of the Holy Gods was weaker and the power of the Spirits should be more present.
Well, it's just a guess though.
I think that Ira and rest of his team from the past somehow changed perceptions of others about events in the past.
1. In this chapter we have some sort of pause before Great Sage answered his question.
2. In chapter where he killed vampir demon lord, he was recognised by him as someone he know from the past.

Well there's a chance that she's lying about she doesnt remember makoto. Its not like all the god say is the truth. Or it just you said she erased her own memory, but i think its not like that because there's no point erasing her own memory since she's practically not someone who should directly interfene with the world. There was also the foreshadowing when makoto meet biffrons and almost said his name to seketh (CMIIW l forgot this guy name). So it must be just like the others said about makoto being irregular. Remember noah said about makoto that "He’s going to turn our world upside down"? I think this develeopment is already inside noah prediction. Maybe she's the only one in the world who know makoto better that anyone. Well because the lack of information all we can do is just wait until author give another hint
My Theory
I think Makoto is Abel, thats why destiny magic doesnt see his future, because he already has a predestined future which is going to the past and saving the world. Noel also mentioned this before on the Sun Country Arc, that the saviour Abel mysteriously just dissapeared. I dont know about you but that kinda hits the target for me, that Makoto somehow got back to the present. Also on the Wood Country Arc the demon lord was acting kinda sus when he met Makoto, but later denied it, maybe because he doesnt have the sun blessing yet which Althena gave to him this chapter. As for why Ira didnt say he met makoto of the past... probably the same reason as he is Abel?? idk, but on that conclusion this my theory.
To add something to your theory, Athena said that Ira will do her best to adjust history if Makoto somehow change it, this might imply that people remember Makoto's face and characteristics differently because the history was adjust by Ira. Abel might be a real person but Makoto might have accidentally taken Abel's role in the past. It also might mean that this wasn't the beginning of this paradox, rather it already happened.
I really like speculation like this, it's really fun to think plot stuff.

So that could be a hint.
There's another possibility - the time might be more complicated. Consider the very idea that history might get rewritten AND that it can come as a surprise to gods while not being instantenous enough to prevent them from acting... Personally I'd expect time to be layered thing. There's mortal time - but then you get overlapping layers above it. The rewrite of mortal-time history is happening in the higher level time, so to speak. The past with Makoto time-travelled back has yet to happen - and Ira in the past has future Ira's memories because the future where Ira sent has already happened and thus Ira - attuned to higher level time - now remembers that already-happened future.
I mean, imagine our Ira as someone who's reading a book while also being able to influence the story - and now decided to go with a major 'cheat' and write Makoto, who she read about later, into part she's already read. Her past memories include the future NOW, but she didn't yet know Makto when reading that section previously.
Simpler explanation that also explains why Ira seems airheaded.
Her memory is only nearly perfect, so she has to search through infinite memories to find what she needs to remember, but can remember things closer in time to where she is right now more clearly/easily.

Like I was saying in the previous chapter, time travel always brings up paradoxes which can't really be explained logically which is why I am so unhappy with this development...
It is a world of magic. It can explain itself with things outside our logic. It doesn't have to work with ours.
Saying they are paradoxes or plotholes when not knowing yet is like assuming a person sucks at baseball because you saw a similar boy suck too.
Honestly, unless they are super heavy inconsistencies or botching characters for plot convenience, I don't really mind the small details as long as the story is fun.
No one is an expert in time traveling in the first place. It is a foreign concept that has way too many variations in different media. Just enjoying the story and saying 'uuh, Makoto and Abel?! There's a chance he might meet Cain and an 'Evil Noah'?!' or the Great Demon Lord battle in the past?!' is what I would stick with.
Memory reset or did something that required compensation of some sort like memories for its fuel? Could it be due to the events of the past, Ira develops some grudges with Makoto in the present without any memories? That would explain a number of things.
If Ira's the one fixing or writing history, I can see why its faulty to begin with lol. That clumsy but adorable effort.

Ira was born as the Destiny Goddess with all the complicated stuff about time. Just thinking about the tangled mess that are the destinies of people, I would go insane.
Im assuming they are using back to the future time travel rules but with delayed effect of the changes, allowing them time to send him back to stop them. Going back and messing with the past alters the timeline and once the changes spread out like a ripple in a pond the changes are set and the new timeline takes over. Ira saw the changes occurring and the ripple spreading out and sent him back before the ripple reached them. She wont be aware of his actions in the past until hes been sent back to do them so her ability wont take effect until hes gone and made his own ripple.
I think it's a bit of both
Ira might've worked to repair the timeline to the original, but some of Makoto's achievements stays and merged with the original Abel's legend because of RPG Player abilities
Ahh, i have a theory about this:
What if the timeline of this world is already a fixed timeline and Ira just doesn't know about it. I mean, maybe history itself is a force here and it fixed itself by using another force from the future to mess with an irrergular that went back time to change the usual course. And it eliminated Makoto out of that timeline and mended history back it's course(with the RPG player skill's help) by somehow teleporting him back to the current timeline. So Ira,the only one who governs fate know about the timeline where makoto isn't teleported to the past but doesn't know about the fixed timeline caused by history itself.
And another theory about the coffin. Anna might be staying inside and will only awake when makoto comes back.

Keep in mind the proficiency requirements. No reason to assume time or light spirits are going to work differently. So grinding is necessary, but this is Makoto we're talking about. Since he has the skill now, he can grind it. Too bad he didn't get all the elemental skills.
But there are certain shortcuts that Makoto has used before. For example synchronizing with Lucy - even though normally he can't use fire at all - he used Fire Spirits. Of course his control wasn't as good since he's proficient in water, not fire. So then is there another way to use time spirits? You can speculate from there easily enough.

It is here bois... makoto got 2 new skills to polish and in old world (1000 years ago) there will be more spirits and goddesses have let him do whatever he wants to save abel so we can expect things like him soloing great demon king to gain prof. in magics

So now he got the ability for beginner level destiny and light magic but he can't use them with Spirits right? They're normal beginner level spells unlike his Water Spirit King
he can... even his water magic is just beginner... all he needs is to raise his proficiency high enough to see and be able to use spirits then he will be able to use sun and time spirits at will thanks to his fucking high proficiency in spirit magic
I see. Well also i forgot about magic would be impossible for his 6 mana... How could he do beginner level water magic before with 6 mana honestly...
by using water in surrounding... instead of generating his own he trained by water which extremly reduces mana cost... with light this will be easy just train during day and just like charm he can have destiny all time on with his clear mind so easy
Well, now that he’s no longer he’s no longer Noah’s follower, he can level up his stats now.
Isn't he already able to level up? It's just that it makes little difference since his base stats are low. I'm not sure about this but his low stats was a factor on why he was never accepted by any of the countries' churchs.
Also because his strenght being so low Noah gave him a dagger instead of another weapon because he can't carry it
The problem is why Eir didn't give anything to him.....I mean he's trying to save a Abel If Noah hadn't interfered Athena wouldn't have given him her blessing ....... they want him to save Abel without giving him anything lol.

Remember one of the conditions to travel. The choosen needed to be weak and even if Eir did give Makoto Intermediate or even Advanced mahic, he would not be able to use it at all.
