Libra inflated her cheeks like a puffer fish in a bad mood, and poked his head persistently, so he shooed her away.

Libra made an amused face as she showed off her breasts, but Lanpeach responded coldly. 

“If this weren’t the ruins and wasn’t cold. This is not the time for that… It wouldn’t be surprising for them to find us soon… Oh, detected.” (Lanpeach)

He was walking through the snow and detection reacted to a corner of an abandoned building at the front. There’s rubble piled up and snow blanketing it. 

[Ah, something’s there. There’s something of worth there! I will show you an expanded display!] (Libra)

And then, Libra jumped and pulled his hair, so it was really annoying. But the place that Libra detected with her power began to shine. 

It is an easy to tell highlight.

A gatherable item is hidden. When he cleared up the snow and searched in the detected location, he found a small white flower. 

Now that he looked closely, it had ice petals, and felt as if it would break at any moment.

‘Congratulations on the gathering’ -Libra said with a cute and innocent smile, spread her limbs in midair, and sang a ‘pan paka pa~n’ to celebrate.

Libra answered aloofly. She looked like she seriously thought this, and the reality is that that really is the case, so Lanpeach just kept it at shrugging. 

[More importantly, the only use for the Ice Flower is to eat it on the spot to raise your ice resistance, you know? You can’t bring it back with you.] (Libra)

The Ice Flower is an item that increases your Ice Resistance by 10%. It is a flower you can easily gather in the slums when it is in the snow phase. But you can’t bring it with you because it melts. 

“I know, but there’s one more thing, right? I was wandering around the ruined building zone.” (Lanpeach)

It is the method to earn cash in the game’s winter. Well, you often have easy methods to earn cash already by the time winter hits, so it is not used often though.

(Obtain [Alchemy] Level 1, and [Gunmanship] Level 2.) 

[Obtained. Please choose two gun techniques.] 

(Quick Draw and Gun Mastery.) 

[Obtained.] 

He was getting skills one after the other. 

New knowledge was being installed into his mind and his body grew dizzy for an instant. 

[Alchemy: Can make potions. Psy +2 per level.]

[Gunmanship: Learn gun techniques. Dexterity +2 per level.] 

[Quick Draw: Sharply increase the chance of a preemptive strike.]

[Gun Mastery: Increase Gun Power by 50%.] 

Lanpeach looked at the skills and special skills that he obtained, and let out a sigh of relief. 

The special skills of the guns are passives. The one to note is Quick Draw which drastically increases your ability to get ready when battle begins. 

Gun Master also increases your attack power, so it can’t be neglected. It is a special skill that’s plain but useful. 

Battles at least won’t be so chaotic now. 

“Anyways, we are making a potion this time around.” (Lanpeach)

[I see. The level of the Ice Flower is 1. So you plan on using that as an ingredient for a potion.] (Libra)

Lanpeach picked the flower. It should be fine to just use the ability like in the game, but he was internally scared as he opened the list for alchemy in the Status Board, and chose the potion. 

“That’s right. Now, Potion Craft.” (Lanpeach)

The Ice Flower crumbled like sand with the power of alchemy. The crumbled flower shone for an instant in the hands of Lanpeach, and changed into candies that filled up his palm. 

There’s around a dozen.

“Hm hm, how’s that? How’s that? This is true alchemy. The ability to change the useless Ice Flower into money. We can sell them like this.] (Lanpeach)

He flipped an Ice Candy and grinned. It was akin to a crook that found a suspicious way to make ends meet and earn some good cash. 

“Moreover, it is 1,000 Ele each. Even if it is cheap, a seasonal item can only be obtained in that season, so it is more expensive than your regular resistance potion.” (Lanpeach)

[Ooh, I find it extremely questionable that it is a candy despite being a potion though.] (Libra)

“I agree with that one.” (Lanpeach)

That’s how the two of them laughed…and after a few hours, they managed to successfully make a good amount of candies.

Lanpeach obtained a good amount of Ice Candies, so he left the ruined buildings, crossed the slums, and arrived at the destination. 

The buildings, houses, and stores towering in this place were clean as if existing in the border between the slums.

This is the Surface District of the city called Elder Tree. 

Security guards were standing armed here and there, protecting the order of this district. It is a merciless place where not only robberies, even pickpocketing would net you a bullet in your head in a heartbeat. 

It is so strict that, if a poor and dirty person from the slums were to enter the market with rich people, you wouldn’t be able to complain even if you were to be killed. 

That’s why you could say security has been assured because of such extreme punishments even when it neighbors the slums. 

It is a place with such good security, so Lanpeach got glared at every time he turned a corner. 

‘This guy smells like he would commit a crime’ -is what their eyes were saying. Even so, the market is still in an outer zone, so it is not strange for an explorer to be here. They didn’t chase him off. 

“It is the downside of [Minor Villain]. But it is better than getting caught up with scammers if you were to have [Goody Two-Shoes], I guess.” (Lanpeach)

Lanpeach was tired from the exploration, so he sighed and drooped his shoulders as he walked. 

The eyes around were harsh. The civilians, who came from the front, would see Lanpeach, make a blatant displeased face, and some would even avoid him. 

They look as if they are thinking he would extort them to pay his medical bills if they were to bump shoulders.

“Shut up.” (Lanpeach)

Libra, who was in invisible mode so only Lanpeach could see her, laughed and danced in the air in amusement. 

Lanpeach looked at that cute appearance of that celestial maiden dancing, and justified himself by saying this was a sight for sore eyes, and continued on his way. 

His eyes were loose because of this sight for sore eyes, so he looked even more suspicious, but he didn’t notice. 

The Surface District isn’t that different in appearance from that of his previous world. Convenience stores don’t exist because there’s a limit to product distribution, but there’s a lot of personal stores. 

There’s delis, boxed lunch stores, restaurants, bars, and general stores, and it even has street lights, so it didn’t feel off. 

There’s one thing though. There are magic tool stores and gun stores, and there were people walking noisily with their armor, people who were carrying around snipers and gatling guns, and armored cars and military buggies were passing by, which did feel off. 

Rather than calling it feeling off, it is more like it struck fear. It looked dystopian. 

Lanpeach had the leeway to enjoy it when he thought it was a dream, but right now he was taken aback and thinking the city is dangerous. 

“Let’s sell the candies quickly and leave. It is still too high of a difficulty for me to walk around here.” (Lanpeach)

[Why do you feel more comfortable in the slums? This place looks safer for me though.] (Libra)

“Most of the residents in the slums are level 0, right? In comparison, this place is where true explorers live. There’s high level guys in droves. This place is more dangerous. The level of the guards is 2 at highest. They can’t match a real explorer if it turns into a fight.” (Lanpeach)

[Mumumu… It is somewhat weird, but that might be the case? You probably wouldn’t lose to an enemy in the slums after all.] (Libra)

Libra crossed her arms and said ‘I see’, convinced by the words of Lanpeach. 

He internally thought about how hunting guards is also a money making strategy, but kept it to himself. 

The guards have pretty decent equipment, so it is the horrible method of getting them secluded and killing them to sell their equipment. 

You could say it is a money making method you find often in games. 

You can earn more than a commission fee paid by the city, but this isn’t the time to test out whether it works in this world or not. 

He walked for a while and searched for the store he was looking for. There’s a lot of similar stores, but Lanpeach was searching for a specific one. 

He looked around and the guards made even scarier faces as they suspected that maybe he was searching for a store that is easy to steal from, and he finally found the store he was looking for. 

“Now then, it is here. Here. Let’s do it here.” (Lanpeach)

[What is it? There were a lot of general stores, but is this special in some way?] (Libra)

“You could say that. I don’t know if it will go well in reality though.” (Lanpeach)

(I should use my game knowledge here. Kukuku, earning money as someone who has cleared the game is easy-peasy.) (Lanpeach)

Lanpeach smiled faintly at the question of Libra and placed a hand on the door.
