Tsuki – Chapter 345: Tobikato’s Blessing

Mio really didn’t come.

I could tell that in the morning…no, in the early morning, she slipped out of bed and headed to the kitchen.

That’s right, breakfast was karaage <fried chicken>.

I wanted to say something about that.

Making four different tasting karaages, and four side dishes is a bit excessive.

I am truly glad there was a group of people who were delighted by this.

There was already something similar to karaage in Asora.

We have literal chickens as well…just that they are a bit big and their legs and claws are thick, which makes it a bit more dangerous though.

It is just that it tasted more like in the middle of tatsuta-age and karaage…

No, it is plenty tasty.

But the karaage talk that happened after Rokuya-san shared some with us got really heated up thanks to how shockingly delicious it was.

I wasn’t careful.

Mio began to aim for that peak.

While I reflected on this, I think about how miso soup really is nice in the morning. It calms me down.

No, corn soup also fills me with nostalgia.

Not the actual one, but the powdered one.

Remembering these things makes me yearn for them.

“Rokuya-san, stuff like that of yesterday really troubles me.” (Makoto)

I have to say this right from the get-go.

That’s why I said this to Rokuya-san who is in the same store and seat as we were in yesterday.

“? You finally managed to move your heavy legs forward, right? Troubled, you say. I was just feeling bad for Mio-san who was made to wait that much. Ah, sorry that I am offering you a staple this time around, red rice. Tsige has an abnormal amount of ingredients. I managed to easily reproduce it.” (Rokuya)

“Ah, thank yo—what staple are we talking about here?!” (Makoto) <It is a tradition to eat red rice in celebration of something. This time, most likely him graduating from his V card.>

I objected with a straight face.

He then brings out a square box with red rice and places it on my side.

It is pretty big.

So, what staple are we talking about here?

“So, how is it going with Tomoe-san?” (Rokuya)

“?!” (Makoto)

“…Oh? Oooh?” (Rokuya)

“…”

Not a single lie could come out from me to a surprising extent.

Even though I have managed to do so lately like a merchant!

This is already past the point of discernment…he 100% knows now!!

“Hoh! You are pretty good. Nice nice. That’s how a youngster should be! The Empire one is a bit excessive, but well, not like I find it an impossible scenario.” (Rokuya)

“…Please don’t put me in the same vein as Tomoki. Has he gone out of line and done something again?” (Makoto)

“No, it is something from a decent while ago. There was an interesting policy coming from the Empire, you see. To put it bluntly, a plan to increase the population. They may be a big country, but the decrease in population will become a problem in the future. In the first place, numbers are one of the advantages of hyumans. You could say it is simple, but effective.” (Rokuya)

“…Could it be ‘have all women come to the capital and bring them to my place’? That’s an eroge scenario.” (Makoto)

He has no reserves in charming his party to make a harem and charm the daughters of nobles.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t care about the other party being married.

Don’t go doing NTR in real life. Keep it to games only.

“…No, his body wouldn’t last. It is stated as increasing the population, but results can vary.” (Rokuya)

“Then?” (Makoto)

“They spread aphrodisiacs to settlements in order, set a few free days under the name of the hero, and do an indiscriminate adult festival.” (Rokuya)

“…”

That’s way too stupid.

When talking about increasing the population, at least do something like create a law that makes it obligatory to marry; that kind of decent way of thinking.

Just how pink are you dyeing that brain of yours…that you end up reaching that kind of direct approaches?

“Hahaha! It is rare to see you open your mouth wide and be dumbfounded! I have seen something nice!” (Rokuya)

“It was just so stupid that…good grief.” (Makoto)

“…I wonder about that. It is true that it is an extreme approach, but there’s no doubt that it is increasing the population, you know?” (Rokuya)

“Even if that’s the case…no, let’s just stop talking about the Empire. Ah, about the topic of Tomoe as well. Let’s continue talking about the business of yesterday, please.” (Makoto)

“Hm, okay. I think you already know about our relationship with the Adventurer Guild, Raidou-kun…” (Rokuya)

And he easily switches topics.

His age really is showing.

“Yes, to a certain extent.” (Makoto)

“Right. So, we know a fair amount in regards to the guild. For example, a Samurai was born in Tsige recently, right?” (Rokuya)

“Ah, yes.” (Makoto)

It is apparently a Class Up from the job called Rounin.

If I remember correctly, there was also the choice of a Kurobakama.

I was surprised by the names.

“As you saw, the influence of Wise is quite strong in Lorel…even so, there’s no Samurais there. Even though they have been dyed in our culture in a lot of areas.” (Rokuya)

“…”

“It was honestly unexpected that cosplaying got strangely widespread at some point in time…oops, sorry about that. I got heated up on this topic just like that time with the karaage. And so, about the jobs, there’s still higher heights than samurai.” (Rokuya)

“Ooh, really? If we talk about samurais, it would be master swordsman, devilish swordsman, or master samurai?” (Makoto)

“Umu, master samurai. They existed in the past, but there’s none in the present. And there’s higher than that.” (Rokuya)

“Higher than master samurai?” (Makoto)

“Yeah. There’s something called Mugai. A job that hasn’t been confirmed in the guild, but only we know of its existence.” (Rokuya)

“It was a power of you all to begin with. But…Mugai. Does it refer to the Mugai style?” (Makoto)

How to say it, it is quite game-like. I wouldn’t be surprised if something like that actually existed.

Mugai, huh. I am interested in what kind of job it is.

“Azu did say that. Is the Mugai style really that famous of a school? Everyone aside from him didn’t know about it.” (Rokuya)

“Yeah…” (Makoto)

I guess it is?

“The peak of the command job branch is Yagyu, but that one we did know. It must be referring to Yagyu Juubei, right?” (Rokuya)

“If it is the command job branch, I would say it would fit Yagyu Munenori more though.” (Makoto)

Munetoshi is more of the Shinkage style.

I think it refers to the Yagyu that served under the shogun…probably.

“…Well, that’s the kind of system it is. And so, obviously, it makes us really happy when jobs like this make their first appearance -the fact that people are reaching the boundaries that we were unable to arrive at.” (Rokuya)

“I see.” (Makoto)

Meaning that this is kinda like a thanks for a rare job like samurai showing up?

It is not its first appearance, so it doesn’t feel quite right though.

There was the matter of yesterday after all.

There’s the possibility that he is just using this as an excuse and just called me to tease me.

“We managed to register a new job in the guild -from a person close to you, that is. Moreover, it is a job that’s on the same branch as mine, so my heart jumped despite my age. You have my heartfelt thanks.” (Rokuya)

Rokuya-san lowered his head to the lowest extent that allowed him to not hit the table, and gave me a serious show of gratitude.

By adventurers that are close to me, he must be referring to someone from Alpine.

No, if it is someone that’s close to the job branch of Rokuya-san…Toa, huh.

Heeh, they went off to an opposite direction from the wasteland due to a request, and she classed up?

What timing.

“…Could you be talking about Toa?” (Makoto)

“Umu. I think you have already heard about this, but it seems like the guild weapon that Azu gave her had some sort of effect, and there’s the chance that there were pretty special conditions to fulfill. It really piqued my interest!” (Rokuya)

“Meaning that she changed into something that’s not a Kagerou? I see.” (Makoto)

“It is called Tobikato. Maybe you know about it? Azu doesn’t seem to be interested in ninjas, so he told me that he didn’t know, but you unexpectedly have all those areas covered up, right?!” (Rokuya)

Toa has become something impressive.

Could it be that her being temporarily under the tutelage of Tomoe had some influence in this?

I do question whether it is fine to have a job name like that, but…it definitely isn’t weak.

“Please don’t say that as if I am some sort of weirdo. It is the nickname of Katou Danzou, right?” (Makoto)

“Right! That’s right!! I didn’t expect there to be such a hidden job like that… Do you understand this feeling?! The Tobikato apparently have a whole lot of original ninjutsu!” (Rokuya)

“R-Rokuya-san! This is in a sense sensitive information about Toa, so please lower your voice!” (Makoto)

“Can you imagine it?! It is a surprising job that even an old man like me could only nod in amazement at it!” (Rokuya)

What’s surprising is your tension.

This is not an issue of whether I can imagine it or not!

“I am just so happy…to the point that I gave away a number of my treasured equipment to her. By the time I noticed, I was dyed in the assassin route, so the only thing left of me was a habit of collecting stuff due to my admiration for ninja related things.” (Rokuya)

There’s a path for assassins?

The assassin’s creed kinda thing?

“A new job and new equipment, huh. Toa must be pretty giddy about it.” (Makoto)

“For now, in order to do a dual sword style, she would need a weapon that’s on the same level as lapis. And the result of pondering about it…I tore off a scale of Doma—that’s a joke. I had Doma give me a scale with his approval, and with the material I asked from the mythical beast of Azu, I then requested a craftsman of Tsige to make it.” (Rokuya)

“…And you gave that to Toa?” (Makoto)

Man, Doma, you are getting treated terribly in a thing that has nothing to do with you.

Even though he ran away saying that he didn’t want to meet me because it would definitely not end up well… What a pitiful guy.

He is the type that avoids all the infrareds, just to end up falling in a pitfall.

I don’t know why, but I can sympathize with him.

“Hahum!” (Rokuya)

“‘Hahum’, you say.” (Makoto)

He nodded powerfully, so that must be the case.

I don’t know who crafted it, but that person must have had it rough with that outrageous request.

“If it is to celebrate the birth of a new job, I don’t mind this degree of work. Also…” (Rokuya)

“?”

“They have gone deep into the Aion Kingdom. Also, the seams have already been filled up, but the cracks of Tsige are still in sight even when she is way over there. In other words, she is in a dangerous position. As if I would let the Tobikato die so easily.” (Rokuya)

“…You say it is dangerous, but the party of Toa is determined and sturdy, you know?” (Makoto)

“If there’s the possibility the Apostle of the Goddess might show up, they should be careful to a certain degree.” (Rokuya)

“We are thinking about dealing with that…” (Makoto)

“Considering the affinities, I would say Alpine could put up a better fight against the Apostle. The Kuzunoha Company relies quite a lot in magic, including you after all. I think you should research the Skills of adventurers a bit more, you know.” (Rokuya)

“Skills…” (Makoto)

In regards to me, it is true that I don’t remember ever using Skills.

I definitely am tilted to one side.

If he says that characteristic of mine is bad against that opponent…this is troubling.

“Yeah.” (Rokuya)

“I am a level 1 merchant though.” (Makoto)

I am an eternal level 1.

“…Right. Skills…ah, I see.” (Rokuya)

“I will warn Tomoe, Mio, and the others about this.” (Makoto)

“Y-Yeah, that would be for the best. Don’t worry, the guild’s top isn’t incompetent. I am sure they will pinpoint the reason soon enough.” (Rokuya)

“I hope that’s the case.” (Makoto)

“…It seems like due to worry for you or because they learned it from you, Tomoe-san and Mio-san have the tendency of pushing aside Skills as much as possible when they strive for higher heights. It would be better to think about all possible scenarios when making countermeasures. You must move without regrets.” (Rokuya)

“Yes, thank you very much.” (Makoto)

If my existence is connected to evading Skills, that’s honestly a problem.

I would like them to just not mind it and rise higher and higher.

I would like to see a battle between a Mugai and a Yagyu.

“Now then, the problem is…what to thank you with.” (Rokuya)

“?”

I have already received a thanks, and you even introduced me to a tasty karaage yesterday.

Also, Toa was the one who worked hard.

There’s no reason to thank us.

Toa herself has already received a lot of celebratory gifts from Rokuya-san.

“To think that you would tie the knot with Tomoe-san too in this short period of time… There’s also the matter of Toa… Yup, I really can’t see the depths of you, Raidou-kun.” (Rokuya)

“Wa?!” (Makoto)

I have seen this before.

People call this a deja vu.

No no, moreover, one of them can cause a complete misunderstanding.

Oi oi, moshi moshi?!

The stares are painful… As expected of the adventurers of Tsige. Our table is already surrounded.

“I find an assassin with a loud mouth questionable…” (Makoto)

“Don’t worry, I will bring red rice tomorrow as well.” (Rokuya)

“No nee—wait, that’s not fair! He is already gone!” (Makoto)

Right, he had this.

A Hiding Skill that even I can’t detect!

Aah, damn it.

An ‘explode’ chant just like yesterday began from somewhere.

The sweat and heat is outstanding.

How unpleasant. I won’t be raising my hand, but their bodies slowly approaching and pressing  against mine to harrass me was rough.

Haha, Mio and Tomoe have really integrated into Tsige well. If I just think of this as proof that they are being admired, I can easily endure this…this…as if I can endure it!!

Side chesto!

    1. Why the hurry man, i can understand that you might be impatient because there was a big hiatus, but the story just ended a big arc, so it’s time to the part where makoto rlx a little, Tsuki was always like this since the begining.

      1. Well, I can understand the academy and Tsige chapters. It’s important character development and such. That said, Aion is already invading! If the author is focusing on slice of life, why all that talk about armies and apostles? That only makes me think “start the fight already, dammit!”.

Loudmouth reminds me of drunk Hazal… Or rather, Hazal in general.
Who is part of Toa’s party.
    Who is connected to Azu.
    Who is connected to Rokyua.
    It’s all connected.

  3. Its honestly quite funny that they are telling him to explode lol. If they knew tomoe and mios true identities it is highly unlikely any of them would remain. More likely they would all just feel admiration towards Makoto.

      1. Yeah but it’s not like demi-humans were not staying at Tsige. Even demons live there! But Tomoe a superior dragon and Mio otherwise known as the Calamity? They’d shit bricks! Two legendary beings most would never meet in their lifetime… Are in a relationship and working under Makoto.

  4. Thank you for the double chapter. This one was just as funny and who’s ever heard of an assassin who broadcasts a person’s sexual innuendos? He practically has made Tsige’s adventurers want to place a curse on Makoto.

    1. You call out the move, and it autopilots your body, the skills are affected by levels and stats, so everyone’s output can vary. Part of the reason Makoto doesn’t think about them much, other than not having any of his own, is that the autopilot portion can be used against you, but it can pull out a lot of your power….

      Liked by 9 people

      1. No there are stats, i don’t remember where else they explained them, but Makoto’s Luck is supposed to be really high, with a title that gives him the worst luck, or brings him terrible encounters.

Anyway, Skills are supposed to pull out the full power of your stats, unless you learn to control them, so it could really throw you off balance if your stats change without you realizing.

        Liked by 2 people

      2. I know that titles play a role but I haven’t heard if any of those traditional stats such as HP being mentioned. Just levels, class jobs, and titles. Do you really not recall?

      3. No, no. His luck is low. That’s why he got the title. Also some girl that’s the fiancée of one of his students has opposite title where she has great luck.

I don’t know what kind of boosts Friend of the Moon God can give, though.

    God, I hate that guy.

One of those tags is incredibly lewd…yes it’s handholding.

  6. I feel far better with things now that he did it with tomoe and mio. I feel his character grew up a lot and that the relationship is not so strained anymore. Now it only needs to be officially know by the people of the world (these two chapters helped a lot in that) for him to steady himself in the idea of truly having a relationship. I really can’t accept him being an useless ass anymore

  7. what the gods said is starting to come out

Makoto is a hammer that opens the way to new routes until Toa was hit.

I already want to see the empire, full of stupid children.
That the world of the goddess is filled with more garbage would be epic to see

like cherry on the cake to have, hibiki and chiya become slaves of the demons.

I already mentioned the apostle, ohhhhhh finally the good begins

  8. Rokuya knows everything! And knowing him the collateral damages and the resulting grief directed at Makoto was all intentional.

‘Moki being ‘Moki, so garbage and degenerate calling it garbage is insult to all garbage and calling it degenerate is insult to all degenerates. Shame it actually knows its limits enough to not die a shameful death.

    Thanks for the double, Reigokai!

  9. This was a great chapter as it reaffirmed that Makoto hates polygamy/polyamory. Throughout the series he has either shown disapproval or disgust whenever it’s discussed, and he is very deadset on a monogamous relationship.

at least do something like create a law that makes it obligatory to marry; that kind of decent way of thinking.

how is that decent? lol, compulsory arranged marriage versus mass orgies for the purpose of making children. Makoto is clearly putting more weight on the romantic and downplaying the sexual to the point of missing how awful that sounds.

Makoto hates himself for even daring to think about a harem and that unwillingness is the reason he hasn’t admitted to himself that he loves Tomoe and Mio, and uses weasel words like “hold dear”.

That said, this all makes sense if you know about his dad. His dad Kanart was the ultimate simp for one woman, and without that devotion Makoto wouldn’t exist. Of course Kanart’s ideology would be passed down to him. If anything, it’s a point of opposition to how The Goddess wants things, so Makoto will likely never budge on this ideology.

    1. Rokuya is talking about superpowers that come from classes. You get classes from the Adventurer’s Guild system and unlock ‘skills’ via class up. It is different from divine abilities/cheats like Sakai or the Demonic Eyes, and different from real skills like archery, battle experience and swordsmanship.

      Liked by 4 people

    2. It’s not a skill though at least in the way skills work in this world. Skills move the body forcibly in certain ways. Like I’m sure you’ve played a game where you use a skill to make your character do something in an unnatural way like dodge in a certain way or move in a way that is faster than your normal running speed or whatever. The fight with Haruka was a good example of somebody using skills where she would activate and then cancel skills to force her body to dodge and move in ways that shouldn’t be possible normally.

  10. Gritonia’s plan sounds stupid as fuck. Have an indiscriminate orgy to boost population? They’re more likely to cut their population because of all the STDs everybody would probably contract. Especially if Trashmoki is part of it since he’s probably already a walking pile of STDs. Remember that this world has very poor medical science so they probably have no idea about STDs or how to deal with them. I mean since medicine is so far behind and underdeveloped that that’s why Kuzunoha Company was able to get rich by developing medicine.

I feel like Rokuya is trying to get Makoto to accept Toa as one of his lovers. He did say he wants to reward Makoto for influencing the discovery of a new job and almost immediately he brings up Toa right after mentioning how he’s done it with Tomoe. Anyways Toa might have a chance. She looks like was it Makoto’s kouhai from archery club back in Japan and it has been hinted that he did have feelings for the kouhai and club president since he initially pictured both of them when either Rokuya or Aznoval asked him if he liked anyone before he then also pictured Mio and Tomoe and well we’ve seen what happened with Mio and Tomoe. Also Makoto went above and beyond with how he returned Toa’s dagger to her that seems weird if he just thought of her as a friend. He made an entire production for her to reclaim the dagger in a way that she would be satisfied with when he could have just easily handed the dagger over to her.

W- What? Side Chesto? That’s a weird thing to end the chapter on. Is Makoto gonna become like Machio?

    > Why Makoto is level 1 until now?
I remember root says they do the programming of the skills tree of the adventurers together with Rokuya’s group and more.
When i think about it, Makoto received his magic power from Moon god, so his power cant be really measured up
From the early chapter, Makoto was weak, because the magic was slowly integrating to him to synchronize to his body for safety reason.
But the programming side of Root, they were slow a little bit.
It think one of the reason was the computer available that programs the skills tree is using 16 bit processor
    so it came like this

If (magic power level > Int16.MaxValue)
    …..return 1;
    else{
    …..return magic power level;
    }

    Liked by 3 people

    1. Root has no idea why his level shows as 1. It was mentioned that the system has been programmed that if a person’s level goes past the cap -65535- then it is supposed to display the text OVER where their level should be.

Well, I mean… if you consider how Makoto’s blessing from Tsukuyomi was mainly absorbed / put into Asora, as previously mentioned by the God trio, and also how the search function is only part of Makoto’s Sakai ability, and how his protective Sakai got broken through a fair amount of times, I think that it isn’t really that unbelievable.

Seeing how op mc is, to solve skill problems due to level 1 he might just create and grant himself skills, like goddess did.

Tomoki’s hate flag reaching new heights all over again.
Am seriously thinking that gritonia is turning into hell on earth, its heading down a impossible to imagine self destruction path…….Goddess are u watching? More that mc’s independence thing i feel she should focus apostles there.

Btw TL-san can u put a long tl note on this chap. So many Japanese words and heiracrchy stuff(class related) are said here. I’m not a hardcore jap culture
person but am interested in understanding this ninja and samurai stuff . I thought shogun was the next class after samurai so far (like in other games or manga ) .

But I notice, the seriousness of the story is no where to be found anymore. The last serious chapter was about 304 when makoto had to fight.

I hope this change soon. I’m wondering what happened to the demon tribe, the demon lord and his crew, the heroes them. What are they up to?

no problem for STD the goddess has surely made them disappear from her world (except the mental deficiency and the consanguineous ones).
I remind you that she loves beauty too much and that suddenly there are more women than men there, how could she let it become ugly following an STD?
I also wonder why there are not only girls reproducing by partenogenesis so much she prefers girls suddenly, it would perhaps lack change (partenogenesis = autocloning) or not sufficiently educated to know, or all the same a not very sensitive to masculine beauty (even looking for a guy for her but I’m afraid it will fall on makoto if he’s like the swan of the ugly duckling).
    ————————————————
for level 1 it is also possible that the system has a level compensation like in D&D when a player creates a character of too powerful a race. the real level being the sum of the level compensation and the displayed level (try to guess the real level of Mio and Tomoe) …
also what is the level compensation for the archer god race?
or that of the race of the gift that he refuses to use and that the gods dare not pronounce the name?

    1. If i remember right, I forget which chapter, but Root discovered and let us as readers learn that the reason that his level is forever one, is because the guild’s system can only read up to a set level, something like 16k. Was based on some method of counting in binary, established by Root’s Otherworld Partner who founded the Guild’s system to begin with. Makoto’s level is so high, that the guild actually is unable to read it, and spits it out as an Error at Level 1.

Btw, completely, and utterly unrelated, and irrelevant, but if Makoto was capable of creating a pair of arms capable of erasing a fairly potent mass-destruction-magic from Root, keeping the dimensional tear open with them when he fought the gate and also make Daikokuten, a God of destruction, excited and want to try his main weapon against it, then couldn’t Makoto just simply use his creation magic to make a gate that connects Asora with Earth?

    1. Idk man a pair of arms that can destroy anything is pretty simple for Makoto to create, but creating something like a dimensional door like Samal is too much since accurate dimensional trips are practically impossible…unless you’re a genius or a master at spatial magic.

  20. Zero_Sen you talk about the makoto chapter and the titles and you don’t remember it well:
root indeed thought that, but he added the overlimit if the adventurer exceeds the limit … it didn’t change anything for makoto which remained lvl1.

If he wasn’t an incredible old man I would say he was jelly and was messing around as revenge.

  22. Thank youuuuu.

I’ve always held the feeling that Makoto’s level lock isn’t really a lock. I’m sure Root just needs to change the “field” Type or definition… I have this feeling it’s a error. Like on a calculator when you calculate something to large for it to spit out…

    An example below…

    SQL Numeric Data Types

    Datatype From To
    bit 0 1
    tinyint 0 255
    smallint -32,768 32,767
    int -2,147,483,648 2,147,483,647
    bigint -9,223,372,036, 854,775,808 9,223,372,036, 854,775,807
    decimal -10^38 +1 10^38 -1
    numeric -10^38 +1 10^38 -1
    float -1.79E + 308 1.79E + 308
    real -3.40E + 38 3.40E + 38

Whatever system is setup doesn’t like 0 alone..(Would it mean your dead?) and negative would be problematic, so let’s say it’s limited to positive values… suddenly 0e etc becomes “1”, but if it’s an int, he’s limited to “ 2,147,483,647”, so if he’s in bigint or higher range… yeah, error time!

Either that or goddess prevented him from growing like his language issue early on and never removed it.
