  • 16: True reflection time

And in this way, the meeting about the monster strife -that was more of a reflection meeting- ended, and I was freed.

However, it was a mysterious meeting where I didn’t understand why I was in it as well.

A person with no title like me was able to speak as much as I wanted, and I feel like there will be retribution later on which makes me anxious.

“…Haine! Kuromiya Haine!”

When I leave the meeting room, an asphyxiating bald man was running towards me.

“Vice-captain Grades?” (Haine)

“Seriously, thanks!” (Grades)

Saying that, Vice-captain Grades lowers his bald head speedily. It even felt saddening in a way.

“I am truly sorry, and thanks for protecting the hero-sama at that time! In reality, we knights should be the ones acting as the shield for that person, and yet, I was worried about my rank and post, and was unable to say anything! Truly pathetic!!” (Grades)

“Eh? Doesn’t that mean it is even worse for me who doesn’t even have a rank or a post?” (Haine)

“No problem! The Founder-sama is serving as your backing after all! With that, even Knight Commander Dobbe won’t be able to put a hand on you. Seeerves him riiight!” (Grades)

The tension of the baldy is high.

“…I really am pathetic. The job of us -Aurora Knight Corps- is to provide support to the hero-sama, and yet, the Knight Commander took the initiative to blame the hero, and us as group members couldn’t stop it. Seriously, for what reason are we even here.” (Grades)

“Vice-captain Grades…” (Haine)

“Can we talk for a bit, Haine?” (Grades)

Taken somewhere by the Vice-captain, we arrived at the light grand church’s garden.

Time has passed since the monster strife. The sun has already gone down, making it completely dark already.

“Do you know why the Knight Commander hates the ethereal machines so much?” (Grades)

“No… In the countryside I was living in, there were no such machines after all…” (Haine)

Vice-captain Grades searched for something in his pocket and takes it out.

It was a small and thin glass tube that was small enough to be held completely in his hand, and inside of it, there was some sort of black shining mineral.

“This is ethereal. Around 100 years ago, there was someone that found a way to smelt this from the earth. It released energy that’s able to move anything without the need for divine power. Cars and flying machines, and the element measuring device you used not that long ago as well; they all use these as their energy source.” (Grades)

‘That’s not all’, is what Grades says as he continues.

“Lamps, heating, clean water, fire used in cooking; right now, it is all done with ethereal power. When ethereal was discovered, it spread to the main cities in the blink of an eye, and it raised the living standard by several times. And then, can you tell what happened after?” (Grades)

“…People…stopped believing in God.” (Haine)

“That’s right! As I thought, you really are intelligent. Seriously, that’s exactly what it is. Because of ethereal, the civilization advanced, stabilized the food production, cured previously incurable diseases, and provided humans methods to go against natural disasters. With all that, there would be no need to pray to God, right?” (Grades)

That’s why machines are the enemies of the church huh.

If the machine culture develops and the need to entreaty to a God disappears, the people will steadily grow apart from God. That’s why a person like the Knight Commander Dobbe, who’s in a high position in the church, hates the ethereal machines to the point of completely forbidding them.

“Honestly speaking, the only problem ethereal can’t solve is the monsters. By having the heroes fight the monsters as the leaders, The five churches -counting us- are somehow able to maintain the faith going.” (Grades)

“Can’t you make weapons from ethereal that can defeat monsters?” (Haine)

“About that, there was a joint signature from the five churches, making the use of ethereal weapons forbidden. Even the five churches, who normally don’t get along with each other, were in accord with this one point. If this one point is broken, the church of God will without doubt be going to the trashcan.” (Grades)

People will…escape from the ruling of the Gods.

This is the thing that I wished for the most in my time as a Dark God. The other five Gods were at the side of ‘humans are the slaves of Gods’ and I went against it.

I fought and lost. And in the time I was sealed, I wonder what kind of path did humans walk.

What I understand is that, as a result of this thing called ethereal, everything was wrapped up.

“It is said that the reason for the monster’s origin was maybe because the angered Gods sent this as punishment to the unfaithful humans. They began appearing around a hundred years ago, and it is right at the time when ethereal was discovered.” (Grades)

“Sounds like it might possible. Seriously possible.” (Haine)

“The church clamoured that ‘monsters are the punishment for the corrupted humans!’ as they fought the monsters, and by defeating them, they obtained fame. In that sense, monsters might be our saviors.” (Grades)

“But Karen-san is…going so far as using ethereal machines to protect the people.” (Haine)

“That’s right. That’s proof she is a true hero. She is not fighting for the sake of something like the authority of the church, she is purely doing it because she wants to save people. That’s why, for the sake of this, she will use whatever it is needed. The holy divine power and the ethereal machines as well. But for the higher-ups of the church, this is an eyesore.” (Grades)

The church fights monsters for the authority of the church…putting it another way, to protect the authority of God.

The reason Karen-san fights is to protect the people.

That discrepancy is hurting a single girl.

Within that discrepancy, a young one appeared who had no fetters and no position…

“So that was my role huh. To protect Karen-san, not only from monsters, but a variety of other things.” (Haine)

“That’s right.” (Grades)

Vice-captain Grades said this earnestly. In those words, there were various complicated emotions mixed in.

“It seems like at first, Karen-dono wanted to make you into a person that doesn’t move on the whim of the church, a person that’s truly a monster subjugator. She said that the moment she first saw you, she saw your abilities and sense of justice and felt that ‘if it’s him, he can do it’.” (Grades)

“Seriously?” (Haine)

I was bewildered.

“But when the moment came, you surpassed expectations. I truly didn’t expect you to stand against the Knight Commander. Or more like, since the moment I saw you stay at the side of Karen-dono and entering the meeting room, I thought I was hallucinating.” (Grades)

“Haha…Karen-san’s state was kinda strange since the time she met the Fire Hero, and it didn’t seem like it would be good to leave her be, so before I noticed, it ended up in that way.” (Haine)

“Seriously?! You really might be the personal knight for Karen-sama.” (Grades)

“Did you seriously think that was a witty statement there?” (Haine)

“No no, I am simply vexed. Even when I called myself a knight, this cowardly self was unable to do anything.” (Grades)

This is what he says, but Grades-san is most likely a splendid knight.

Also, it is true that Karen-san’s state was strange. If it were the usual Karen-san, she would have spoken back to the Knight Commander, and there wouldn’t have been any need for me to step in.

The reason for this is as I thought, the Fire Hero, Katack Mirack.

When my thoughts reach that conclusion, I felt like I couldn’t just stay like this.

“Vice-captain Grades, sorry but, I will be excusing myself now.” (Haine)

“Yeah. Sorry for having you do overtime work, newcomer.” (Grades)

So Vice-captain Grades also understands my intentions. It looks like there’s no need to say anything more.

“Ah, BUT! Don’t go decreasing the distance between you two more than needed, okay?! If you dare do something like forming a romantic relationship with Karen-dono, the whole knight corp will beat you up!” (Grades)

As expected, he is a person that says a word too many.

  • 17: Frail Hero

I searched here and there for a good amount of time.

And then, I finally found Karen-san at the outside area of the light grand church. The storehouse of the flying machine.

“Ah, Haine-san.” (Karen)

Karen-san was holding some sort of tool in her hand.

“Uhm, are you doing that thing called maintenance? To that flying machine?” (Haine)

“Yeah. Whenever it is used, there’s the need to check its state later. It would be trouble if it were to act up in the middle of a flight after all.” (Karen-san)

So Karen-san does it herself.

She leads the knight corps, fights monsters, and while being in distress with the friction of the church’s higher-ups, she does maintenance to a machine.

This person does way too much by herself.

“Now that I think about it, I haven’t thanked you yet, right? I completely forgot. I really am fumbling way too much today.” (Karen-san)

“Did I do something to be thanked for?” (Haine)

“You did. A lot. Especially when you covered for me at the meeting room, it really saved me. If Haine-san hadn’t said anything, this little one might have been disposed of.” (Karen)

Saying that, Karen-san kindly pats the flying machine that’s currently in standby.

“But that…if that was the usual Karen-san, you would have been able to manage something yourself, right? That Knight Commander, I don’t think he is someone that Karen-san wouldn’t be able to handle. In normal circumstances, there would have been no need for me to step in.” (Haine)

“…Is that so?” (Karen)

“It is. Is the reason…the Fire Hero?” (Haine)

Karen-san was silent. She silently continued caressing the surface of the flying machine. It looks like the maintenance was finished a long time ago.

“Did you come here to ask that? You really like to stick your nose, Haine-san.” (Karen)

“That’s why you dragged me here from my countryside village, right? It is too late to regret it. If you have any worries, try telling this big brother here.” (Haine)

The head of Karen-san suddenly fell onto my body. I could feel the softness of her hair and a nice scent coming from her.

“Eh?”

It was so sudden that I didn’t know what was happening. Even if my soul is that of a Dark God, my body is that of a healthy 18 year old. I would normally react to a cute girl.

But…

“…Uuhh…uuuhh…”

The weeping voice that was coming from her quickly dispersed any immoral feelings.

“Ueee! Ueeeeeee!!” (Karen)

Karen-san was crying.

The girl that is praised as the light hero and defeats great amounts of grotesque monsters resolutely, was currently showing weakness fitting of her age.

After crying for a while, she slowly spoke.

As if spilling out every single bit she had piled up to the very last.

The real reason why she felt like crying was not because of the blunder at today’s monster battle or the heartless words of the Knight Commander, it was as expected, her.

The Fire Hero, Katack Mirack.

Now that I think about it, since the moment she appeared, Karen-san’s state was strange. And that strangeness was always there.

Both being heroes and rivals. My assumption that it was because of the shock of her stealing away the merit was wrong.

“I know of Mirack-chan. Since before I became a hero. A long time ago.” (Karen)

This is a story that is connected to Karen-san’s own welfare.

In the present, Karen-san runs around freely as the light hero, but in her childhood, she had a weak constitution and constantly fell sick.

“It is unexpected, right?”, is what Karen-san said trying to cover it as a joke, but for me, that hit me in the gut. A girl that possesses an inclined elemental affinity to light with a number of 700. That’s definitely not something that only provides good effects to her body.

At any rate, in the childhood days of Karen-san, her daily life was a repeat of sleeping and waking up.

Of course, with that kind of lifestyle, it was impossible to make friends, and her child self was lonely. However, even with that, there was one person she could call a friend. A girl of the same age that lived at a neighboring house.

That’s Katack Mirack.

  2. Hmm. I’m left somewhat wondering how to deal with the “first post” since there’s going to be multiple uploads at a time now.

On one hand, I want to quickly subscribe so I can keep on top of the comments.

On the other, I’d just be spamming out the same comment two or three times in a row.

On the first hand again, “First”…

    1. I think the gods purposefully created the monster to make humans depends heavily on them.

And This is just my baseless speculation but… perapa the ethereal have something to do with Entropy our beloved dark god.

      1. Mostly… He was the most strong god right?, Maybe it’s his doing when his seal was weakened. Those 5 assholes…

        1. And I forgot to mention this but, I don’t think he is the strongest. The gods of creation must be equally balanced you know? One side must never be too strong from The other, or it would create unbalanced creature and there wouldn’t be any humans.

      2. I agree on the first thing, the 5 gods most likely created the monsters in order to rule by fear once they discovered a method to live without relying on them

But the ethereal can’t really be a creation of his, as he was surprised it existed, plus it can create light, dark element is the worst for that yknow

        1. I meant our MC somehow have connection with the creation off the ethereal, I don’t mean he directly created it.

Perhaps it’s his residue power when he was sealed which leaked and somehow materialized, or it’s perhaps a side effect of letting the god of darkness entropy got sealed for too long. I meant it like that.

        2. Wait, where does it say that the Ethereal created Light?

Or do you just mean a light source, because those don’t need to be Light attributed to light things up. Fire lights things up too, for starters.

Besides that, I see Ethereal more as a solidified form of leaked raw divine power, not necessarily with an elemental affinity. The key point with them is that they act as a fuel source.

      3. Personally, everything clicks the way I see it. I already made a post about this here: https://isekailunatic.com/2017/07/31/chapter-11-13-monster-invasion/comment-page-1/#comment-65363

Essentially, the Six Gods are based on the most important core elements of the universe. In that comment I explained the ranking of the gods based on a cosmic scale. The Dark God is without a doubt the strongest of the 6 based on the logic of their cosmic powers.

Also, as for the ethereal that was found, it DOES fit with the powers of the Dark God. Entropy as a phenomenon functions through thermodynamic energy. Then, there’s the dark matter and its gravity that makes the things in the universe hold themselves together(to the extreme of galaxies and quasars being centered around supermassive black holes to hold them together), and the dark energy along with entropy are absolutely necessary elements for the Inflation(expansion) of the universe.

Returning to the so-called “ethereal”, it is identified by the people of that world as something that doesn’t rely on the “5” elements, yet still generates energy. If you read the comment I linked, I go more in-depth in that comment about this how gravity affects ALL other elements, but that combined with gravity manipulation does make 100% sense with how the ethereal is used, as well as to why they think it’s not an element. After all, dark matter is normally invisible.

      4. Moreover, as for a possible reason why ethereal was found as a material in the world while the Dark God Entropy was sealed, there are two possible reasons.
1- the residual energy from him while the seal was weakening made it happen, but that’s VERY unlikely in my opinion. At most it would have affected some stuff, but it wouldn’t have created a physical resource in the world.

2-(the one I personally believe) is that the world is a magical one. It is made of the 6 elements. Unlike in the real world, in this world Inflation isn’t just the expansion of the universe but also divine light(which seem to sever molecules when cutting, maybe. that’s my headcanon so far). Since this is a fantasy magical world, it could make sense if Dark Matter had a crystallized form.
Regardless, the way Ethereal is described as to how it’s found in nature implies that it is a natural resource that doesn’t have anything to do with the elements of the 5 other gods of creation.

I thus simply believe that this was something that had been there since the creation of the planet(and that this resource is linked to the dark god, even if it is just an after-product of the influence of dark energy and dark matter on the world and universe during creation. and as an after-product, its creation would thus have been beyond the control of the 6 gods).
Finally, as for why it wasn’t discovered before, I would say for the same reason why petrol hadn’t been made use of before humans discovered how to do it.

This “Ethereal” is essentially a fossil resource without having anything to do with fossils. This chapter hints that humans had already discovered it long before, and that the only thing they discovered a 100 years before the series was how to process and work the Ethereal.

        1. What about this… during the war between gods the dark matter released by entropy somehow entered the human realm and seeped into nature and then crystallized overtime. These crystallization of dark matter is what was discovered and named ethereal by the humans.

I mostly agree with your conjecture about the ethereal. Though I can’t quite grasp how the ethereal crystallized in the first place, and so I made this guess. Since I can’t talk science I can only throw some guesses and speculations based on what I read and understand.

  3. And the rapid updates are over? Still, thanks for the chapters Reigo-senpai.

I should had known the two heroes were childhood friends, it’s only going to make our Dark God’s harem more interesting.

      1. Riiiiight…

        You come here Raizu.
        Closer. Closer.
Okay, just stand still in the middle of the road there.
I’m just going to take a picture of you, okay?

  4. It must feel crazy good to talk back like that to some self-important militar like that, all because you can nuke them all on a whim…
    Thank you for the chapter

      1. I mean, he’s confident with his strength. That’s why he’s brave enough to say all that in front if that guy. It’s like, “come at me bro!”

      2. After all, the reason humans have been able to somehow stumble across the amazing ability of rational thinking and deep thought is because it allowed a social species like ours get what we want from each other. 😀

Hurrah for beating people with logic!

      3. I’m sorry but even when I late join you guys on the comment section, I just punch any comments that have any Spoilers and Stupid comments and throw him/her in front of Truck-kun ~ (E.X. Truck-kun ; for Truck-kun, I throw him in front of truck-sama)…

      4. Eh?…Truck-kun…you recognise truck-sama(Faku~)? And you got hands to pull?? When did you become hyuman?!
        Eh~~~~?!
This is a series of shocking event *shocked*!!

        Poor Nepu-san….

I hope he gets flatten and we can make a hamburger steak for @dicky satria~

  5. As I thought, the gods’ names are related to the Big Bang theory…
Well, let’s see how it’ll flow from now on…

    And thanks for the chapters!!

  6. Yeesh. I kinda feel bad for at least part of the Light Church now.
The half that just wants them to properly do their job are horridly bogged down by the other half that’s just dragging their feet with bureaucracy and politics.

With this, one thing is pretty much settled. Karen is most likely not the reincarnation of the Light Goddess. Her attitude of prioritizing human lives over the authority of god is just too contrary to what little nature we’ve seen from Inflation.

Speaking of which, suspicious. The monsters spawning is freaking suspicious. It’s not impossible for it to be caused by something else, but I currently can’t see the monsters as anything but a ploy by the gods to keep the humans dependent on them-a measure against rebelling slaves.

    1. You know what’s even more suspicious? Inflation releasing Entropy, when the current situation seems to be heading towards a resolution that Entropy would prefer. I mean, isn’t she worried that he’ll put the final nail in the coffin of the gods’ authority? 🤔

I’m discounting that she woke him up just because she missed him. She doesn’t seem that nice. 😥

      1. Well, we know too little about her to have a clear picture about her intentions. It could still be that she came to a great disagreement with the other Gods, and since she seemed to have a certain affecting for the Dark God, she freed him in order to turn the tables or something like that?
Or she could be using him for something different entirely…

        1. We’ll see… I hope the light goddess- let’s call her Inflate-chan from now on- is on the good side… I kinda like her yknow? And she is the one that sets everything in motion in the first place by releasing our MC, this is just my taste but… if Inflate-chan trait is Yandere then… I think the story will become much more interesting!

      2. She doesn’t have to be nice to free him out of personal attachment though.

The impression I got from their brief interaction was that she helped the other gods seal him, but personally really liked him and planned to free him herself sooner or later. 1600 years was just the soonest she could do so without the help from other gods.

          1. Pssh. I’m not giving her credit so much as benefit of the doubt.

It’s incredibly easy to picture her appearing as an enemy sometime in the future, most likely as some yandere figure, but just as easily as the typical arrogant goddess.

I also have to note that I’m kind of looking down on all the gods because of how much they seem to underestimate the human ability to develop, implying they just have power and little intelligence beyond what their divine senses allow them to know.

          1. Why are all fishes supposed to know who Nemo even is. Do you know how many fish there are in the ocean? What are the chances of them even knowing the same person by that name?

As fishist as saying you smell sushi.

          2. Love this place. A place where all jokes are taken seriously-or at least serious matters are taken jokingly.

Madness gives a fleeting gentle embrace and it is wonderful. (*´∀`*)

          3. Hey~ we can’t have a good comment section without some guys like you and Truck-kun right? No wonder Reigokai-sama consider the comment section his main dish~ man if only all comment sections are like this.

          1. I don’t have the tools for that. 😀
I can hit you (literally) and have you reborn in other world as female hero… and then find you and hit on you (figuratively).

          2. Curse you omnipresent sentient truck!

lel~ joking aside… I can’t wait for the next chapter! Of TsukiMichi that is… it left on such a good spot… I can’t help but imagine all kind of scenario to satisfy my daily dose!!!

      1. btw where is that person that said the author will update in near time ? Truck-kun prepare your gas tank to hit that person if he lied (that person comment lurk in Reigokai notification before after ch 5 of this new project)

  7. In the present, Karen-san runs around freely as the light hero, but in her childhood, she had a weak constitution and constantly fell sick.

…. I’ve got this strange premonition that the reason she recovered and got an impossible number of affinity on light element for a human is because the light goddess herself possesed her or a part of her soul is possesing her in order to meet Haine and be with him in the lower world , i mean even if it means recruitment there’s no way a very important figure would go on place in the middle of nowhere to recruit country bumbpkins no?

    1. The implication this chapter was that the impossibly high Light affinity was the reason she got sick in the first place.

According to Haine, a balance is needed for humans to properly function. As for why she got better…well, I guess we’ll see.

  8. Thanks for all your hard work! Did Inflation wake him up in order to frame him as the one behind the monsters, I wonder…? And now he’s working for her church… well, sort of. 😅

  9. Whoa, it was great to read all these chapters. Thanks Reigokai!
I guess the two love interest who were mention are these heroes, right? Uhmm, a trio with two childhood friends, interesting ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  10. Thanks for the chapter.
Now I think Mira only act fierce toward Karen so Karen will stop become hero. Well, now its Haine job to stop her.

  11. What!? Over already!?
    Still not satisfied
    Still hungry
C-cook some more!!! More deli~icious, yummy, and DELI~CIOUS STUFF!!!

    *grooowwwll*

      1. Erk. Now the light novel is licensed, I can’t read it online, I need the share link(dL link)…

Nvm, was just trying my luck here..*sigh*…
        Thx for the response btw(〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜

  12. A black shining mineral, huh. Want to take bets on that being a crystallization of the dark god’s power, having seeped into the earth while he was sealed? And then void monsters start showing up the moment people start using that power! ~ what a coincidence. ~

    1. Implying that Enthropy was the culprit?
I would say that ‘sealing him’ was the reason. That might be the real purpose of undoing the seal and releasing him; that the 5 gods.. they must’ve tried tapping on his power to enslave humans and it took a wrong turn. To solve it, they released him.

      1. still waiting for the white goddess lover to throw tantrum and then smack the other gods if that really is the cause and the other blame the dark gods for their mistake

      2. Ha! That’ll be interesting. Not to mention this speculation makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

For example, maybe the ethereal are crystallized forms of the neglected Darkness element in the world. Ergo, “divine power” without a master that people can just discover without having to cater to any of the Gods’ whims.

And so, the other gods-or just Inflation at least-had Entropy unsealed in hopes of having him regulate his element again to cut off ethereal sources at their root.

Of course, being the human-lover he is, I can only imagine this backfiring horribly and Entrophy actively distributing even more of his divine power into the world for humans to freely use.

        1. If it really is his element, then while I agree that Haine would be happy that Humans achieved all that they did (especially being able to free themselves from the Gods), I doubt he would want to keep making more of ethereal.

After all, it would just mean that the Humans would become dependent on him, which couldn’t really be seen as them freeing themselves of Gods after all.

Haine might create a little bit of it now and then, but mostly to keep the Human civilization from collapsing. He would however make sure that it starts getting scarce, so that Humans are forced to find other sources of energy that do not come directly from the Gods and thus abandon ethereal.

          1. I don’t think Haine is particularly unhappy with human dependence on gods though, since they rely on everything the gods created in the world to begin with.

He’s more about not curbing their potential, which Ethereal seems to be doing an excellent job of stimulating.

  13. Thx for the Chappys ~! Reigokai-san !!

It’s exciting to wait the chapter(s) of this novel to come out ~!
    I can’t wait to read the next chapter(s) ~!

I hope he gets that Founder-san too,
The first few Hundred chapter girl(s) are pretty much harem members…
    He. Must. Make. It. Happen!!

  14. sobby backstory incoming T_T
    ty for the chap
i really like that he is so “down to earth” with everything
you don’t see it often that the mc is actuially reasoning with the higher ups in this way

  15. Thanks 4 the translation!

I wonder if anyone has ever been born with high dark element. Maybe he can get his own hero.

    1. Wouldn’t that just be Haine then?

He’s bound to find a couple of humans with high darkness attributes that were previously seen as worthless though. That’ll be a sweet underdog arc.

      1. Psychronia, it makes sense for Raidou to not be gentle. He’s not a god by the normal sense. Haine/Entropy understands how people think and feel, Raidou does not. Raidou is after all at the very least an Elder God. He’s an eldritch being of blue and orange morality.

  16. hmm…. it seems that MC will make a weapon with Ethereal…. so that Humans will stop become ‘God’s Slave’….
and after develop ‘Ethereal’ to become new foundation of humanity…. he will come to the Five Gods and stab their nose with fork.

… for the Karen-san…. its simple…. your friend just jealous of you…. and when she choosen as hero she think she superior than you or the other heroes…. typical Pride of hero….

    1. I don’t think she behaves that way because she is jealous, I think it’s BECAUSE Karen-san is a hero, that she behaves that way.
Didn’t Karen-san said she was weak when she was young?, maybe she just wants Karen-san to stop being a Hero to not be so hard on her body and wants her to lead a happy and healthy life, thats why she acts like that towards Karen-san.

In other words, it’s a typical friendship relationship…

But I still like that the Author-san still use that old development, I’m ok with it.
It gives the old style writing (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜

      1. yeah…. Happy healthy life… but Hurt a lot on the inside…
if she really care about Karen…. she never behave that way…. it just make Karen suffer even more…..
from what i see… she literally see Karen as useless Hero… not in “Tsundere” way…

isn’t that the reason why she looking down at karen?
because she’s weak….. and suddenly she became Hero…. because of that Karen left her…? and angry about that….?

        1. that’s a lot of assumption based only on “anyone should behave the way I want” and “all hero are prideful trash”
          typical prejudicial WN reader’s pride

          1. well thats my opinion… my own eyes… my own judgement ~ if im wrong… then im happy that im wrong ~ beside i didn’t say “ALL” hero…. only Pride of Hero….
if i say “ALL” then the ‘Hero Karen’ i support on my comment before fall on that sentence as well….

            “typical Prejudicial WN Reader’s Pride”
oh irony…. to say that while you are on it as well….. to say like that when you “Prejudicial” other people…. oh Laughable.

          2. yes, I have strong prejudices against people using ellipses every 3 words.
it’s awful to read, and sound condescending.
that rub me the wrong way and I assume they are arrogant pricks.

      2. Hey. I bet she just doesn’t know to act ‘tsuntsun’ towards her ‘first friend’, thats another theory right?
Just like for Karen-san ; she is first friend, maybe to Mirack ; Karen-san is her first friend too?
        Just my imagination though~
        (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜

      3. yeah ~ probably like that….
for some reason their friendship become more like Rivalry….
        misunderstanding perhaps?
or the teaching of the church that make her like that….
        probably the latter….

many theory about them become enemies/rival (on the bad way)
but either way the MC slap her so hard…. lol.

  17. Thanks for the hard work.

Btw, i just wanna ask. Do you still translate tsuki ga michibiku or not?

    Thanks for the hard work

    1. Here’s Rei-san’s note on this matter: (from the Ch 274 Tsuki translation)

“And so…we have finally reached this point.

The ending of Tsuki ga Michi.

Let’s be clear about this, it is not that this is the actual end, it simply means we have caught up with the most up-to-date chapter, and the author hasn’t updated for a good while.

So that means, until the author releases a new chapter, this will be a temporal end for Tsuki.

I really want to thank everyone for the support I have received.”

  18. i’m beginning to suspect those convenient heroines(same age, super high elemental affinity) are made to be possed by the gods just in case the MC becomes a problem to them.

  19. It’s palpable that the humans in that world have the ability to adapt and evolve at an amazingly fast rate.
    1600 years only!

1600 years is such a short time, and this brings question on how human really do that in such a short term of over one millenia. Discoveries and innovation, for example, takes time.

For 1600 years that Enthropy was sealed, the humans have already exceeded everything that the gods foresee. Really short term compared to what we know of evolution and civilization concept.

Is there some divine intervention from a third party that helped them evolve? Or was the battle of the Gods actually lasts for a VERY long time, and the humans change in the meanwhile?

Enthropy would have no chance to help the humans while he was sealed, so I suggest the first theory. There should be a third power that helped the humans from behind the stage and it/they must’ve benefit from it. The monster might be an impetus of change rather than a mean to cull the herd. This is not the work of the Gods.

    1. Hmm. That’s a good point. Though to be fair, most of our human advancements only really took off with the discovery of fuel technology.

Up until then, it was less about advancements in technology and more about social(political) change. I assume that this world’s ancient civilizations had an easier job than ours at stabilizing on top of that since they actually had gods to function as an eternal concrete pillar of authority.
It’s less like a bunch of constantly warring nations like the mish-mash of the feudal eras of the main continents and more like 5 empires…that were probably still constantly warring with each other.

I could see the discovery of Ethereal being an unexpected turn for the gods and them deciding to use monsters in retaliation. Either that or a natural phenomena as a result of using Ethereal.

      1. I know it quite well enough because my country is too corrupted ; it’s Malaysia btw.
I’m on the right side ; Sarawak.
Our lifes are painful ; just to work for a rm1000, and this number is too small to make a living.

      2. Oh, fellow Malaysian! Apa khabar?

I’d hate to talk about politics, but I guess this corruption is what makes us popular these days.. what with the FBI investigation and stuff.
        Popular sudah kitak.

      3. Khabar baik, Tuyang!
        Didn’t expect your a Malaysian too…

Well, thats the ‘only’ popular thing about us throughout the world anyway.
I don’t wanna talk about it either, sorry, I didn’t mean to talk about it here ; this is a community to do stupid and fun comments~

  20. “Ah, BUT! Don’t go decreasing the distance between you two more than needed, okay?! If you dare do something like forming a romantic relationship with Karen-dono, the whole knight corp will beat you up!” (Grades)

    – But he has to. If he bangs her without forming a romantic relationship with her first, then that would make one of them a rapist or a slut.

  21. Just FYI:
The Roman Catholic Church never set out to delay science/technology advancement. The whole “religion hinders science” is a meme, endlessly repeated because people don’t know their history.

The church never went out of it’s way to brand some a “heretic” solely because of science. In the middle ages, witch burnings and such happened not because someone was researching the stars or what have you. Burnings happened 80% of the time because of village/town gossip of jealous house wives.

In fact, in the middle ages, the church was one of the few organizations willing to shell out cash and sponsor research for many scientists. In fact, most scientists back then we’re PART of the church.

In Galileo’s case, he made his presentation of a round earth to the Pope, and the Pope requested he keeps it to himself TEMPORARILY as he gets other scientists to confirm his theory, but Galileo dun goofed and taught people anyway, causing him to be exited from the church.

The whole “Religion hinders science” meme was a political move around the time when Governments were starting to fund scientists more availably than the church itself. Since RCC depends on charity to fund their scientists, people started a smear campaign against the church to lower it’s reputation with the general public, and rising new scientists that were looking to be sponsored.

  22. the closest analogy that I can think of is the development of A.I. or robot. You want them to be intelligent as close as possible to human, means that it would have some autonomous thinking. But you don’t want them to disobey you, for it to become independent. If there is someone who have to much sympathy to robots and want them to became independent, you would think of them as odd.

But well, I’m a human so of course I’ll root for the dark god :p
