Chapter 264: The transient braves

The Adventurers of Origin.

That was something talked about all around the world. It refers to the people that are called the ancestors of the currently existing adventurers.

They travelled through the whole world and helped out the people, and became the role model for the brave that came after. Of hyumans and demi-humans alike.

However, their names currently remain only in a small part of the Lorel Union.

Why is that? That kind of question popped.

Just like how Rokuya-san said about it not being anything hide about, he spoke about it fluently.

But he also said that this is not something we need to talk about in a room filled with people, so he began the talk after guiding us to a space that seemed to be a secret room in this floor.

When we entered the room, I felt something strange, as if we passed through a thin film. It was something slight that doesn’t warrant much attention though.

It is probably something to make it so that even if we were to come here on our own, we won’t be able to find it or won’t be able to enter it.

Well, let’s leave aside the topic of the hidden room for now.

I am still half in doubt, but it seems like this Rokuya is actually the one from the legendary Adventurers of Origin.

In other words, immortal.

It is not that they are always awake and active, they live in a style where they wake up every now and then and move, and have been living like that for a long time.

Honestly speaking, I wouldn’t be able to imagine a life like that.

At this moment, I felt like Rokuya-san and the other people called the Adventurers of Origin are existences I wouldn’t be able to comprehend.

Living for eternity.

How does that feel?

If I were forced to choose between death or immortality, the current me would probably…choose death.

If it were longevity, it would be a different story, but immortality…

Even if I become immortal, my surroundings will definitely continue dying.

I kind of don’t like that.

“Well, and so, we ended up cooperating, and that guy Munemori not only got the trust of Root, he even married her, and founded one of the nations that would be counted as one of the five major powers, Elysion.” (Rokuya)

“There’s still quite a lot of anecdotes remaining about the foundation of Elysion, and the dragon princess that appears in those, I could somewhat understand that it referred to Root from the talks the person himself told me, but…there was no mention about Apfel(Apple), you know?” (Makoto)

By the way, this is my first time hearing that his husband was a person named Sou Mamoru.

If I remember correctly, he was a swordsman.

And after building up his country, he began liking love affairs.

…I feel like this part of his subtly overlaps with Tomoki.

But well, there was no information regarding charm, and Root said his husband didn’t have those kind of powers.

“Yeah, we were erased from history after all.”

In those days, it seems Rokuya-san’s group called themselves Apfel, which is written as Apple. <Apfel=アプフェル>

It is a name I have no recollections whatsoever.

It seems like Lorel remembered them as Apple instead of Apfel, and called them Apple and people of Apple.

“Era…sed?” (Makoto)

It sounded conspiracy-like. Ominous words.

Moreover, Rokuya-san is one of the affected parties, and yet, he doesn’t seem to be blaming anyone.

“You see, Munemori revealed it to Root. About us…more accurately speaking, about the power of our master.” (Rokuya)

“Your master’s…” (Makoto)

It seems like Rokuya-san’s group, the Adventurers of Origin, have a leader they call master.

But rather than a relationship of one being in higher standing than the other, it sounded more like another word denoting a friend.

What’s with this.

I myself…feel like I have a relationship like this.

“Not only Munemori, us as well, the heroes, and also you; when coming here, you received a power, right?” (Rokuya)

“Yes…eh?” (Makoto)

“For example; Munemori received ‘the Sword of Ambition, Desire’ and ‘the Sword of Oath, Damocles’. A cheat sword that responds to his will and becomes stronger without the need of a blacksmith, and…the sword of resolution that you make an oath and as long as you protect it, all of your abilities are raised. The second one, in the case that he broke the oath, he receives a big wound, so it wasn’t all merits though.” (Rokuya)

“Ehm…” (Makoto)

“And in my case, it is a bit special, you see. I can’t talk in detail about the second one, but the first one is a bit different from norm, an ability that links my comrades.” (Rokuya)

“…”

In other words, Rokuya-san is –no, all the Adventurers of Origin are…Wise?

And as if natural, it seems he also sees through me as well.

But what is this second one he is talking about?

In my case, I was summoned by a God, and at that time, I received [Sakai] from Tsukuyomi-sama. That’s the only one I got.

Don’t tell me, is the language comprehension of the Goddess that she jammed inside of me also counted?

Is that the second one?

…Seriously?

“Us six came here at the same time, and noticed that we had acquired an ability. And the one who was able to exercise that ability was master. That’s why…yeah, link would be the correct understanding of it.” (Rokuya)

“Link ability.” (Makoto)

Six.

If that’s the case, at least they wouldn’t be lonely. Even if they had come to a terrible world.

But this link ability, I don’t really understand it well.

“Ah, that’s the ‘Blood Pledge, Guild Verse’. Don’t know what sort of fate this is, but we were companions in an MMO -or so to speak, an online game- we played in those days. And our abilities were connected with it. What a joke.” (Rokuya)

“…Ah, a net game.” (Makoto)

So that’s what it is.

Rokuya-san and his companions, and then there’s the master <Guild Master>.

Guild comrades in an online game.

I see.

“The details of it are…to put it in an easy to understand way for you, it would be the reproduction of the online game system. Well, strictly speaking, it is different though. In other words, from a novice, I can hunt mamonos and change my job to thief, and after that, assassin, and further after, I can decide on a specialized job…it is that kind of setup. There’s also a shared warehouse that other people can’t see, side quests, and other fine details in the ability.” (Rokuya)

It is truly a guild.

And this entered the ears of Root, and that’s how the current guild was established.

They are truly the adventurers of origin.

No lies in their name.

But from what I have heard until now, I don’t understand the meaning behind them being erased from history.

It doesn’t explain the point about the immortality either.

“In other words, it is that right? Root took the idea of the Adventurer Guild from the ability of you guys? If the information of Root’s husband was about that ability, that’s plausible but…” (Tomoe)

It seemed like Tomoe was putting it all together, but at the same time, her eyes were saying there’s more to it.

Rokuya-san silently nods.

He continues.

“Yeah. Root took an interest in the structure called a guild, and tried to replicate it. It is certainly true that she heard about Guild Verse from Munemori and got the idea. But the part that would serve as the core, in the end, she was unable to create it.” (Rokuya)

“Eh?” (Makoto)

That’s strange. In the end, he did create the guild and is the guild master.

And in present, Root is still the guild master.

“Even if she is the heavenly dragon Root that governs over a percent of the world,  as expected, there’s no way she would be able to grasp the essentials of the Earth’s pc online games. She desperately gathered information from me, master, and the other members.” (Rokuya)

“That…must have been annoying.” (Makoto)

To the point you would want to call the police.

“Nah. Even if she was a dragon on the inside, her appearance was that of a peerless beauty. The three men counting me actually enjoyed it, you know. Root was aggressive, she wasn’t as stubborn towards one person like Munemori, she let us enjoy without any hesitation.” (Rokuya)

“I…I see.” (Makoto)

Eh?

Could it be, I’m quite the herbivorous?

Or is it that, Root had quite the appeal in the past?

Judging from the atmosphere in the story, not only Rokuya-san, the other two members also enjoyed it.

I am currently receiving a culture shock here.

Rokuya-san is a Wise -though I don’t know from what era he is- he must be a japanese person.

If he is a person of the Showa era, were the men of that era this indiscriminate?

In that era, did they dig in when a woman made advances on you?

Seriously?

“…By the way, I was born at the end of the Showa era. I don’t think our perceptions are that different, Raidou-kun.” (Rokuya)

“A…Ahahaha…” (Makoto)

Did he master mind reading?

I am blocking the magic type, and there’s no signs of him probing.

My expression as well, I have lately been able to hide the things that show on my face.

“It looks like you are not self-aware of it, so this might be a good chance to tell you. You are a late bloomer. There’s a limit to being herbivorous. It has been several years since you came to this world, right? In age…you are already over twenty huh. ‘Sleeping with somebody will only be with the person I have decided to marry for the rest of my life’, that kind of ideal is so far from reality it is close to being a delusion, you know? If you are being desired, it is fine to desire as well. That’s all there is to it, and there’s no need to think too deeply about it.” (Rokuya)

He looks at Tomoe, looks at Mio, and even looks at Shii, and then, sighs and points a finger straight at me as he said that to me.

Shii is also okay with you, Rokuya-san?

It is true that I am an adult, but that’s clearly already crimina—no, let’s leave it at that.

“No well, you see, it is been a while already, so there’s things that are just hard to advance towards…” (Makoto)

“…Are you seriously saying that? Going through the trouble of finding a partner for one night would be just… there’s two women at both your sides that are practically shouting that they are ready anytime you want, right? If you are at a lost, if it’s those two, even if it is the two at the same time, they would probably not complain, you know?” (Rokuya)

“Rokuya-san! You are going too far.” (Makoto)

“…”

What is this person saying.

I hurriedly object as I look at the two.

Tomoe and Mio are obviously angered…or not?

Oh.

On the contrary, Mio was stealthily giving a thumbs up to Rokuya-san. Her face is slightly red.

Tomoe didn’t say anything, but she was nodding and going ‘Umu Umu’.

No well, it isn’t as if I didn’t know, but…in the past, the figures of Hasegawa and Higashi were definitely bigger than Tomoe and Mio.

Then, if asked now, it would be about the same, or actually…

But if we were to cross the line, I feel like a variety of restrains will be broken.

Thinking about my determination of returning to Japan wavering and disappearing…honestly speaking, I am scared.

And in reality, whether it is Rokuya-san, that Munemori person, and the Adventurers of Origin; they have all stayed in this world without returning.

“…Fuh… Sorry. It was probably not something for me to talk about. Let’s return to the main topic.” (Rokuya)

“…Sorry.” (Makoto)

“It is fine. And so, Root thoroughly researched about us and Guild Verse, but it didn’t bear fruit. However, Root thought that an adventurer guild was a necessary existence in the future of the world. Just as her attitude showed, she wasn’t the type who would obey the Goddess after all.” (Rokuya)

“Yeah, Root is like that. I think his stance is different from that of the Goddess.” (Makoto)

I can tell by the fact that he is thinking of things like thinning out the hyumans.

So Root has been like that in the past too, and Rokuya-san had noticed that way of thinking Root had.

“That’s why…” (Rokuya)

“…”

Rokuya-san slightly narrows his eyes.

“Root has already diverged from the Guild Verse system, and she is trying to make it a permanent existence in this world.” (Rokuya)

“In other words, it means that Root is trying to make it possible for the Adventurer Guild to have your ability as well?” (Makoto)

“Yeah. But for the sake of that, he needs the cooperation of the Goddess, and more than that, there’s the need for our cooperation as well.” (Rokuya)

“Right. Leaving aside the Goddess, the cooperation of you guys would definitely be a necessary.” (Makoto)

“However, the price that was asked for was way too big. You probably already have an idea but…for the sake of that, all the people related to the Guild Verse ability are required to live forever. If the Wise die, the ability goes with them after all.” (Rokuya)

“?!”

“That’s why, a lot happened, Raidou-kun. By the Goddess, Guild Verse became the core of the Adventurer Guild, and we became immortal. But you see, a problem was born in this.” (Rokuya)

“Problem?” (Makoto)

‘Yeah’, Rokuya answers with a bitter smile.

“At that rate, our achievements would be way too big. Moreover, the Adventurers of Origin are immortal. I was a charismatic person in those days, you see. If I wanted to, I would have been able to become the king of a major power.” (Rokuya)

“Obviously. Receiving immortality, bringing the Adventurer Guild to this world; those are achievements that would surpass a king of a major power.” (Makoto)

“That’s why it was inconvenient for Root. Her unyielding wish was for Munemori to be the greatest brave of that time. Fufu, in the end, she beared the child of Munemori. Even if she was a Superior Dragon, it was her first time having a child. She went wild probably because of the maternal instincts that were suddenly born in her.” (Rokuya)

“Maternal instincts have nothing to do with that. That’s way too much of a selfish wish.” (Makoto)

“Hahaha, right. It is just as you say, Raidou. But this is not something that’s happening now, it is all history that was settled thousands of years already. Also, it is not the history of winners, you know? It is the history of people that are fading away. It is not something for you to be so riled up about. In the first place, I who am one of the related parties don’t feel anger towards Root.” (Rokuya)

“Why?! If what you have done is true, then that bad treatment of Root would be similar to what the Goddess did to m—!!” (Makoto)

“No matter the sequence of events and the conclusion of it, the Adventurers of Origin became a minor fairy tale of Lorel, but Root has been able to properly maintain the Adventurer Guild in this thousands of years.” (Rokuya)

“…”

“The hyumans growing haughty was in part the Goddess’ fault, and even Root wouldn’t be able to stop that, but a diverse amount of demi-humans and a narrow amount of demons have been able to survive until today. It is certain that she has been able to carry out her role in the Adventurer Guild which she fervently spoke of in the past.” (Rokuya)

“…”

Even so, there are things that can’t be forgiven as well.

Being forced immortality, and have your existence erased, that’s just…

“That’s why, the Adventurers of Origin, as well as I, have accepted most of our circumstances already.” (Rokuya)

“‘Most’?” (Makoto)

“As troublesome as it is, the one man that has to accept it the most, is still fighting against it. And so, at that time in the past, there was one kind dragon that was enraged by this, just like how you are, Raidou-kun -no, that rage was even higher than yours.” (Rokuya)

Dragon.

Could that be…

“A dragon, you say? I don’t think there was anyone who would be able to fight against Root in the past. At the very least, I don’t know of one.” (Tomoe)

Tomoe tilts her head.

I see.

Leaving aside if both of them have met before, Tomoe was alive at that time as well.

She learned about the Guild when she heard of it from Root, so she was probably asleep at that time anyways.

“No surprise. In those days, the other Superior Dragons aside from Root and Futsu didn’t boast much strength after all.” (Rokuya)

“As I have said, I don’t know of a dragon named Futsu-ja. It seems like it is known widely in this country, but who in the world is that-ja?” (Tomoe)

After a brief silence, Tomoe seeks an answer from Rokuya-san.

It is certainly true that the name Doma is spread in Lorel Union as well, but the name of Futsu surpassed that.

And Doma is being seen as a dungeon’s Superior Dragon, but it felt as if Futsu was being directed something like reverence.

It felt like the kind of reverence they direct to Spirits and the Goddess.

“The Ancestral Dragon of Heavens, Heavenly Dragon Root; directly opposite, the Ancestral Dragon of the Land, Land Dragon Futsu. The matchless Superior Dragons that possess the highest of powers, however, Futsu was against the creation of the Adventurer Guild, and…as a result, its power was snatched away by Root and was terminated.” (Rokuya)

“?!!”

“This is a matter of Superior Dragons. It is a top secret matter that would be bad if Root knew, so Raidou, please keep it a secret as well, okay? After that, its existence was thoroughly erased by the hands of Root, even more thoroughly than in our case. That was way too pitiful you see. We saved it.” (Rokuya)

“As I thought, I don’t know of it. If we are talking about a land dragon, it would be Grount, right?” (Tomoe)

“More accurately speaking, that girl is a Sand Dragon. Can’t be helped, we are talking about Root here. She probably persistently chipped off the memories of Futsu from the other Superior Dragons every time they were dormant or were reincarnating. It was probably easier than erasing the Adventurers of Origin from the history of people.” (Rokuya)

“That damn Root…” (Tomoe)

“If Futsu had acted as how it normally acts, the situation wouldn’t have gotten so screwed. In the end, whether it is people or dragons, what decides things is most likely emotions over logic. Fufu.” (Rokuya)

Rokuya-san was probably reminiscing the events of one thousand years ago, he laughs.

Even though this was their defeat.

Receiving the curse of immortality and having their existence erased from history; that’s right, it is supposed to be a defeat.

And yet, is this really something that one can look back at it a thousand years after and laugh?

I…probably will end up fighting them at the floors below the tenth.

Since they are immortal, there’s only one way to beat Rokuya-san and the others, I have no choice but to break their will.

No, Tomoe and Mio are probably already investigating this immortality of Rokuya-san.

If possible, his memories of it as well.

That’s probably the reason why the two aren’t speaking much and simply look like they are listening to the story.

There’s the possibility that there will be some sort of way to break through this situation from what they might figure out.

But…the will of people that are able to accept defeat in this manner, if I have no choice but to break it, just how am I going to?

Is it breakable?

I currently…don’t know.

I felt something heavy slowly accumulating in my stomach.

        1. Good day to you too Sir Nepu.
Why, it’s cigarrette you’re holding. It embarasses me that I mistake it for a gun, thanks to the small pixel dot.
On that note, these fine tires are handmade by my maid. Nice brogues, right?

Spoiler-san will get you one of these days…

      1. Finally able to trap Truck-kun’s AI inside this simulator.
        *evil laugh*
        *coughing fit*

        Damn fly!

  1. Nah, just kill them. They’re only immortal until Makoto decides to kill them, after all. 😉

Of course, it would wreck the adventurers guild. But the system doesn’t work for Makoto anyway, so oh well… 😅

      1. Given that the bug and roor needs them alive for the guild system to work, they probably an immortality similar to dragons where they can be reborn when killed?

    1. Does immortality means they’re also indestructible/invincible? I doubt that’s the case.

Let’s see how Makoto dealtm with them. At least Rokuya is already on his side.

      1. I think that’s what they are trying to find out. What exactly are their powers and what type of immortality do they have?

    1. There can be only one.

BTW, highlanders refers to the protagonists of the series and the movies, both of them are Scottish, thus highlanders. It does not refer to all the immortals.

    1. Well if he can’t kill them….There is a saying that there are far more worst fates than death!
Basically just dismember them and lock them up.
Freeze them in ice that never melts like Aqua and Eris cocyutus technique.
Or bury them deep under ground and place a seal.
Or just keep killing them since theh may be immortal but that doesn’t mean they don’t feel pain right? Not unless your deadpool.

      1. for simple example : Hidan from Naruto-verse the one with Jashin religion in which defeated by Shikamaru by chopping and then bury his immortal body in a forest :3

  2. Ok, time for an actual coment, it was fuckong weird for there not to be a Land dragon…
So now we get a forced pact to brong it back from oblivion and screw root a bit?
Also…poor guys still don’t know what they are up against too, let’s just hope it’s a bluff calling, for the sake of the world.

    1. Root already absorbed Futsu, so I guess only Root can create another version of Futsu. He supposedly created the current superior dragons only after he killed off all his dragon peers in ancient times.

  3. So what happened to roots child, was this mentioned? Sooo im guessing Makato will unlock his inner sadist while fighting in order to break their wills. Also didn’t root say that humans can’t have kids with superior dragons or was it Hyumans as Makatos parents are originally hyumans?

        1. If you are an immortal dragon wanting to fug, i believe it’s rather stupid not to get pregnant with the one you want to get married, she had the pick, literally

      1. nah. root did not even know that she could get pregnant in the first place. and remember she was doing it with the other guys while creating the guild. anyone could be the father.

      1. Oooh yeah, What Tomoe was upset about was Makatos life-span/a normal hyumans life-span. So root told her she could have his child. Now I remember

      2. But isn’t Makoto a hyuman? I mean both his parents were so it’d be natural for him to be one too. And he had to get used to earth’s low mana. But then he got a plain face… Is he just unlucky appearance wise?

      3. @Eloyas

The Goddess plainly stated that Makoto was Human, not Hyuman. Which leads me to believe that it’s not just a matter of genetics, but upbringing and how Earth must affect a person’s souls/spirit or possibly their mana that makes them distinctively different from Hyumans as Human beings.

      4. @dragon

it’s also been stated that Makoto is neither hyuman nor human. we originally just thought of it as him surpassing his genetics, but perhaps it’s something more?

    1. Can anyone guess what’s the reason makoto parents being chased and ask the goddess to sent them to earth?
I think major and bug have some kind relation? Nah?

  4. Finally someone say straight to Makoto’s face that he has to that want to sleep with him and his ideas are just disillusion.

  5. My god, what an irritating chapter !!!, I want so much that makoto crush everything and once and send everyone if *****, of course, thank you for the work 🙂

    1. Just so you know I think in the remaining chapter left, there is no crushing yet.haha though at the BIG cliff. Thier war already start but the end.
      And thanks for the chapter.

    2. wait the author put the causes for the next fights XD
Apart put this history for the characters and info why Makoto dont have sex with the girls XD He slow but more important want back his country

  6. Oh my YES!
    YES. YES. YES.

What a great chapter. Various ideas are properly being brought up to Makoto. Gud job Rokuya!

Firstly, they’ve finally gotten to talking about immortality. (Makoto has trouble comprehending these existences? Ha! That’s rich!)
And Makoto….prefers to die? Uh oh.

That’s the sensible answer, but if he said that aloud, his poor followers would be heartbroken. I hope he hasn’t forgotten that they are immortal and would miss him. Root’s even there as a consistent reminder of the loneliness of immortality.

….MORE IMPORTANTLY. Rokuya says “Fuck this passiveness, sleep with your wives already!”
Awesome This brings up a lot of interesting details about Makoto that hadn’t been stated before as well.

    1. now im not sure from the context of it that Root is someone that like to swinging in relationship or like to do GB with his husband guildmate….. heuheuheuhe
and that one about Makoto passiveness being told right in front of him and his ‘wives’ really a nice Critical hit from Rokuya

    2. Especially that, consciously or unconsciously, he’s been avoiding sleeping with Mio and Tomoe partly because becoming intimate with them would mean never returning back to Japan as the boy he was.

    1. In think going to be just in the most important part of the novel al most of end of the novel (for the convenience of the author ) . I would make bet but I dont know what bet XD

  7. Thanks for the chapter 😀
So, 10 Chapters to go, huh?
I hope we can still see the fight , would be a bummer if the last chapter was a gigantic cliff xD
I´m waiting for the scene “ok, lets get serious” and makoto lifts the sakai he uses to conceal his strength, so he can use it to fight, and they all just fall to their knees or piss their pants infront of this bossmob xD

    1. Yeah and Makoto has less reasons too trust him now. Its basically impossible for makoto to trust him.
I mean would you trust a guy like that and force you to be in that situation without your permission because of his selfish wish? Even if it was going to be helpful in the future?
A life were youu see your friend die and you keep on living?

  8. So…firstly, wait, what!? Makoto is twenty now!? That’s…wow. I don’t know why, but that’s super shocking for me. He was, what? 16? 17 at the start of this story?

…Yeah, I guess 3 years is about right. It’s also about the same amount of time he’s known his club members on earth, so that matches up.

Something Makoto said this chapter really piqued my interest. He more or less said something to the effect of:
“I’m afraid of entering a relationship(loving?) with Tomoe and Mio because I don’t want to get attached to this world. I don’t want to stop wanting to go home.”

A persisting trait of Makoto’s throughout this story has been his homesickness. But this reveals that, like with his morals on the value of life, it’s an attachment that he’s almost been forcing himself to have for fear of what would happen if he didn’t have it. It’s almost like he’s afraid of forgetting what home is like, maybe because it’s another symbol he uses as an “eggshell” to keep his true self in check?

    Any thoughts, folks?

    1. Well he still has a family that worries about him on earth.
But if he was able to return and was able to use his powers it would still be able to connect him to asora.
Also rwmember what his spirit looks like? Didn’t that have a crack? So the term ‘Eggshell’ would actually fit to describe it.
Its like his true self only being restraint by his own toughts and denial.

    2. I like that thought about the eggshell used to describe how he’s restraining himself, that reminds me of when that priestess girl (whose name escapes my mind) saw that there was a crack in his shell and whatever dark, horrifying thing that lies in there is just waiting to break out. Who knows what Makoto will actually seek to do once he decides he doesn’t need to go home anymore, in what way would an unrestrained Makoto act when he has the power to decimate the entire world and potentially repel the Goddess from interfering with him? That thought kind of has me excited now. 🙂

    3. Finally consummating his relationships with Mio and Tomoe would also mean admitting that being forced to come to the Bug’s world wasn’t all bad – i.e. something of a detente in his cold war with her.

    4. “I’m afraid of entering a relationship(loving?) with Tomoe and Mio because I don’t want to get attached to this world. I don’t want to stop wanting to go home.”

i found that really stupid and contradictory, after fighting the door god he told Mio, Tomoe and Shiki that he wouldn’t leave unless he knew he could come back to them (or something like that, can’t exactly remember what he said). so this whole “i’m afraid of wanting to stay” is stupid, he didn’t want to leave them already so why would making one or both of them into a waifu change anything?

      1. Yeah. So straight forward. 👍 bang💥bang💥
And also the fact that we might see something fun in a few chapters from now.
And the fact that root is a…..well you know what I mean.

  9. dang the information, so end of Showa era is around year 2000 ? and the MMO game they play while got world transfered is it really RO ? since rokuya mention about Novice evolve into thief or alternate jobs
and so….. basically from this info about the Guild system and their connection about it all the Adventurer of Origin is like the Game SERVER-DATA in which once its gone, all the player data will be erased ? since he said they need them all to be immortal to use/share their ability so people on that world can use the class skill

    1. I’ve read in other novels that this type of thing is truly the work of an administrative God that requires intense management over a system which rules over the lives of all creatures living in that world. If you think of the scale and the attribute and elements of what they’re trying to apply over the entirety of that world’s sentient lifeforms, then they’re probably jus barely cutting it using the original adventurers as a medium to maintain such a system that is incomplete. Root really is a God-like existence there if that’s the case.

(BTW, my reference for this comes from the Web Novel Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? I find it very interesting in how the author breaks down the actual functions of the world’s system in such a way that sounds logical and acceptable enough to understand even with the fantasy factors in there).

  10. I hope I’m not the only one that’s extremely fascinated by Root’s “origin” story.

I’d almost be willing to read through a whole spinoff of Root’s first encounter with Munemori. According to Tomoe, she was initially very uptight and all about the rules as one would expect of a “harmony dragon”.

But then something happened and she met her first otherworlder, who opened up a world for her not unlike Tomoe meeting Makoto. She more or less fell in love with both the man and his culture, and even had a child with him(which, incidentally, creates the most hilarious image of a beautiful maiden version of Root freaking out at everything when she starts feeling maternal instincts for the first time).

It ends in an almost descent into madness when Root gets too deep into her hobby and perhaps the mortality of a loved one.

Skip forward several centuries and we have an eldritch archer encountering Root and getting the impression of “depraved dandy pervert”.

…So wait. Did Root’s first husband die or not!? If immortality was always a possibility, what gives!?

    1. Root did mention something about how it wasn’t a good idea to try and prolong the life of your loved one. My guess is that the relationship fell apart and maybe her husband came to absolutely detest and hate root.

Aside from that though, I totally want to see the moment when Tomoe ever develops maternal instincts. I think that would be absolutely hilarious and sweet at the same time when Makoto has to calm her down every minute. Oh… I wonder what Mio would end up doing since she’s a spider. She won’t try to eat Makoto whole would she? (or possibly in a different manner of speaking). Mio would definitely go GaGa over her kids though, I can imagine that much. 🙂

    – good job!!!!

“I am currently receiving a culture shock here”(Makoto)
    – was kinda obvious but still made me speechless regarding root

“On the contrary, Mio was stealthily giving a thumbs up to Rokuya-san. Her face is slightly red”
“Tomoe didn’t say anything, but she was nodding and going ‘Umu Umu’.”
    – no need to hold back anymore lol..

  12. Thanks for the chapters… Reigo-senpai. But… are you trying to start your next project early?

Well guys, there were 12 left last time. Now… you can do the math.

The forbidden spoiler will appear naturally soon. Now… I have things to get in order. Nothing to do with this novel or Spoiler-san.

    1. Mario-dono, could i ask you something? (as i boldly ask away without your consent ^^’)
This series, the WN version at least, already “ended” right? In the meaning that the author no longer updates the site and even removed old content from it… so when these 10 chapter’s are done we will no longer have Moonled, until the LN catches up and someone translates? if so i will begin to despair like a mad man so please tell me i am wrong…

  13. Can someone please give a clear summary of what happened? I am confused about Rokuya’s explanation. Root gave immortality to the guild skill group so he can create the Adventure Guild. What am I missing here? Is Root holding them prisoner? I don’t get what the bad part is.

    1. From what I understood their immortality was forced upon them by Root’s selfish desire to create the ideal adventurer guild that her husband described, and I think somehow her feelings as a mother for her child and her husband spurred her towards making such selfish and reckless decisions. I’m not 100% sure either, need time to look over it again but this is what I’ve got right now.

      1. Yeah….that’s what I understood, and to tbh, still doesn’t seem like a horrible thing. Unless there’s something else, the author hasn’t convinced me that not helping someone not die is selfish.

      2. Well for what the assasin said that was indeed the case, but the hormone thing that affected her was that she wanted to erase the existence of the others adventures so her husband would be the number one Brave. So problaly so her child would feel pride that her/his daddy would be the strongest.

    2. As makoto explain immortality isn’t really a nice thing also makoto feel sad because what warriors of apple do most of it is erased from history

      1. It’s not explained too well. I can see how there’s down sides to immortality, like anything else, but overall it’s pretty good not to die. For the second part, is there any reason Root erased them from history? I didn’t understand the reasoning behind it.

    3. let me try and help you.

In the begging Root found all 6 of then and became their friends (even sleeping with all 3 guys), but ended up falling in love and having a child with one of then.

Root and then at the time were probably famous around the world because of the many great deeds they made (like saving towns slaying monster and those kind’s of things).

Root grow really fond of their “party” ability and the whole concept of guilds and adventures and decided to recreate then in their world, but to do so she/he needed to use the six as a form of “core” for the system and made then “permanent” existences in this world, by asking cooperation of the Bug.

This is pretty much told in this chapter, but there are a few details that we can infer by this information:
      -The six of then were against becoming immortals, and were defeated and forced to do so by Root;
      -Because of their immortality and great power’s they would bring great imbalance to the world, so Root made then be forgotten everywhere, only leaving vague images of them (except her husband whom she thought was the only one that should be remembered as the founder of their country);
-At that Time another Superior Dragon who was their friend standed up to then and tried to oppose Root but was defeated and had to be saved by the 6, and was also eventually removed from the memories of everyone.

  14. Thanks for the double release!

I kind of knew about it already, but Makoto is pretty darn stubborn huh. He’s a bit inflexible and holds onto grudges, he even seems consider Rokuya’s own situation as something akin to his own grudge against the Goddess, that they should share the same hatred. Well I’m fine with Makoto straightening out the Goddess’s personality and actions, he does have that right since that bi**ch of a Goddess went and did what she did. But I hope he doesn’t go so far as to force Rokuya and the other original adventurers to participate in his own vendetta using past grudges as a way to pull them in. Then again it seems like he’s now set on crushing their wills, all in all I’ve got something exciting to look forward to though, I feel like there’s never enough action where Makoto gets to show his skills.

  15. well…. immortal is not “undeathable”… but can be killed…. with “unique Method”….
like a Vampire…. they’re are immortal… but weak toward Sun and stakes in the heart…. aside from that… they’re are “Cannot be killed”….
even Gods who is Immortals…. they can be killed too…. from many stories…. but to do that… they must have the Power to Equal the Gods or items that could bring down the Gods they want to kill….

and Root intentions is good… but he’s too obsessed with that…. to become he don’t care about anything else… even toward his “Harem”… as long his wish come true…. even though his “harem” become “Server” for eternity…. he doesn’t particulary care….
and that Bug could bring or make the “alternative Core”…. but i bet she’s to lazy to do that…. so she use the “Core” that already there….. or she’s to arrogant to ask other Gods to help develop the “guild System”….
either way…. Makoto and Adventure of Origin is a Victims….

  16. So Futsu was the one that make the ring that erased the power of the Bug? It was very op for that to be developed by the demon race and Lancer told to Sophia that dont say the name of the creator because they didnt know who was listening. In other words the one behind the Demon race is probably Futsu as well?

      1. Futsu was against the creation of the Adventurer Guild and that was made with the help of the Godess and that guy told that even now Root needs the cooperation of the Goddess and that Futsu was enraged by what they did thus he most likely is against the humans that are the sons of his enemy bisides when you are against a God a basic rule is if you weak the faith in that God he becomes weak.

  17. Wkwkwk sword of “desire” and sword of “oath” I sense eien no aselia reference there :p
The author have a good sense for game.

  18. We’ll, my tribute today is no mexican food.
Introducing my original recipe of salmon hamburger (salmon sazonated whit fine herbs and a touch of vanilla for a sweet and bitter taste, between a onion bun), french fries and for drink, an Afrodite.
For truck-kun I have a futomaki (or sushi roll) made of salmon, cucumber, rice, soy, kelp and fuel sauce (don’t ask how I do, simply enjoy) and a fuel mixed smothiee for a drink.
And for a pervert whit a cat costume (at least everyone tell me that) I have a salmon made in the NEPU oven, original recipe whit my secret sauce. (I have a lot of salmon this time, don’t know what do whit that)

  19. Makoto’s Bizarre Adventure: Eggshell is…..

    Let’s start a betting game
    Will it Break?
    or
    Will it not? (not yet?)

    Thanks for the Chapter.

  20. Makoto: “I’d hate being immortal”
Super bad luck-san: “Thank you! I was having trouble coming up with a new “gift”, Makoto-kun”

  21. hmm, someone remember me what they are there for again?

to find a popular reclused group of mercenary to protect Tsige for a time and teach the people how to protect themselves, cause Kuzunoha is too powerful and can’t serve as a model?
now they found out the group is made of immortal overpowered versions of the best possible adventurers, and they probably have to fight them now for side story reasons?

shouldn’t they realize by now that “welp, it’s a fail, let’s get back home and defend Tsige ourselves after all” ??

    1. As far as I know, makoto doesn’t want tsige to be dependent on kuzunoha in case they disappear(you know, since makoto still wants to go home.) So he wants to find a decent alternative for this, which is the rose garden.

  22. Hmmm if what he say is true wont one of the classes be jobless? Assuming the husband died.? On another note if makoto lost it would mean athena is a lousy war goddess lol

    1. maybe THAT’s why Makoto is constantly lvl 1? cause whatever class he might fit in isn’t included in the living members of those archetypes? so there is no point of reference for the system

  23. hopefully that little talk spurs Makoto into finally picking a waifu/starting a harem. hes been in that world for years, surrounded by women of every species that wants to fuck him as well as having enough money to buy ever whore in the world and the power to force every woman in the world to sleep with him.

i mean shit man, GET LAID.

    1. Not yet, not until he finds out how to cross space etc so he can get every women in the universe (and/or time period)

  24. Thanks for the chapter Regokai-sama, whoao this chapter was more heavy that I though a lot of sensible information was delivered here. Now I understand why there were a surge of hate to Root in the forums in animesuki, that was indeed a dick move on it part, wonder how the author is goign to make Makoto relationship with her in the future. By the way it really was time for someone to open Makoto eyes about sexuality, hahahahah I could barely contain my laugh imaginating a red faced Mio giving Ryoka the thumbs up!!!!!!!!!

Wait till Rokuya gang learns that Makoto defended the demon capital from a summoned Root ultimate attack.

    1. That is if Rokuya is still underestimating Makoto’s strength even after the fact that he has Tomoe and Mio, and the fact that he defeated Sophia
Might as well say to Rokuya “ohh I once sparred with Goddess Athena”

  26. Thanks for the chapter Reigokai San.
Now we know that Makoto kill those girls because they are beyond saving. Not because he doesn’t care.
And the chapter is nice where Rokuya point out Makoto’s problems in his relationship, and Mio’s cute reaction.

  27. thanks for the chapter!
    very interesting chapter

look like the author will make makoto more serious about love affair after so much tease, fine by me.

So, the adventurer guild is supported by root, the goddess and apple, if one disappear the adventurer guild will fall apart, that mean if makoto kick out the goddess, he will destroy at the same time the adventurer guild, how will he react to that information?

So Tomoe wasn’t the “second seat” in dragon hierarchy, and Root “erased” the existence of Futsu from the other dragon memories to keep his rule more stable.
Tomoe was called “invincible” because her ability permitted her to “not loose”, but did it work on stronger being that are Root and Futsu?
since actual Root has the power of Futsu, does that mean he is far stronger that in the past, explaining why at that time he couldn’t beat tomoe and her inheriting the name of “invincible”? what if tomoe was the strongest in the past explaining why she is called “invincible”, but Root, after stealing Futsu’s power, rewrite dragons’ memories to become the strongest, like when he erased apple’s histories only take make his husband look like better?
Since tomoe became far stronger that she was before contracting with makoto, how is the actual power hierarchy among the dragons? maybe tomoe became strong enough to take the first seat?

I think Root said lancer was a failed experiment of fusing a cursed sword with a dragon corpse, what if he fused his husband’s sword (desire or Damocles) that still contained his power with futsu’s corps in an attempt to make him immortal or resurrect him, it failed and gave lancer?

I like chapters that give many questions 🙂

  28. Come on Makoto make love not idiocy… Give love to Tomoe and Mio!! Also it seems like Root’s ultermotiv is known now, also Makoto is now a god meaning he can create and destroy because a god with the power to create will also have the power to destroy. Also I get the feeling Futsu the Land dragon is inside of Makoto just waiting for a chance to come out as remember that Chiya the priestist said she saw something looking back at her. She didn’t know it’s form and was afraid of it, who’s to say it’s just not Makoto’s dark side but also the rage of Futsu combined with Makoto.

    1. -Also it seems like Root’s ultermotiv is known now
root said he tried to become a god in the past to not let the goddess rule everything

      – also Makoto is now a god
      how so?

-meaning he can create and destroy
as far as we saw he can ‘create’ but never saw him ‘destroy’, and since we saw makoto use creation, it not ‘being a god is required’ but ‘having as much as power as a god because the consumption is too big’.
and not all god have creation and destruction

      – a god with the power to create will also have the power to destroy
Wrong. Brahma has ‘creation’ and Shiva has ‘destruction’

for tsuyu, that very far feteched in the sense that how and why would he be here? but who know, I accepted all theories 😉

    2. and we now all know why root is hurt, causeroot cant do creation magic like makoto does, in the line of gods

  29. how to break the will of an immortal?? Oh god, how wonderful for me to do many things to an immortal person to torture him!!! From nail clipping to parts grinding and do some anime like jokes like attaching them to a bomb then ask them “how do you feel? lol”

  30. wonder about makoto liking showa era have to do about him being lvl 1?? (ehem* seems like root need to change the setting date of his game system, just that only lol)

  31. makoto born under a star of bad luck, is it a meteor thatcan destroy a planet? hey that aint so bad, to gods that might be funny, to immortals its interesting, to mortals prepare to die ‘n cry bitches

  32. Grount comes back with memories after death and Root can’t right? Don’t see Grount ever getting a surprise attack from Root without her having countermeasures in place.
Tomoe on the other hand would have been defenseless whether she was awake or killed.
So futsu was saved by these apple fellas? Wow, these guys might be able to have a relationship with Makoto but there are two things I don’t like about them: the way Rokuya slept with his friend’s wife and how all of them accepted immortality.
I’ve watched a-lot of anime and tv shows and these Japanese always seems to have their morals straight, normally the shameless or bad guy are who would sleep with their friends wife. I mean in real life some people might and in the tv show House of Cards, they do it like it’s normal but we are talking about Japanese and these guys seems to have been changed by the Bug’s world just like Hibiki. About immortality, Hibiki would accept it (my opinion) since her ideals would be achieved, but these gamers, what was going through their mind when they accepted it? I mean, they just arrived on Bug’s world what did they plan to achieve in their long years as immortals? Absolutely nothing other than fooling around and having fun. Jokes on them for accepting it with something to achieve in mind. Makoto on the other hand, has a world to manage, that keeps expanding and a god to punish and Immortal lovers to be with. I mean he has the choice of bringing everything down to his life span, by making Tomoe and Mio mortal, killing the Bug, stopping asora’s growth, fixing bugs world and then he dies of old age.
Disgusting! Root had no idea humans could make babies with superior dragons, after all sleeping with Rokuya and the others would be dangerous without a condom and I doubt that was present. So they resulting child could be anyone’s. Also Root’s husband sleeping with other women is old news, Root already said it, that he tried to please him even when he went to sleep with other women.
With all that has been revealed, pretty sure that these guys are far from the japanese Makoto thinks they are.

    1. Well by the time that they went around sleeping with Root thay might have spend a considerebly large amount of time in there and their moral perception might have chifted, but either way cheating and sleeping around is not a patern thats determinated by nationality, everyone can do it, that in some societies is more tolerated that other doesn’t mean that doesn’t happen. In the context it was more like they were forced to be inmortals and been erased from the world history.

      1. How were they forced to? I wonder.
The part about being erased from history, it is obvious even if Root is more powerful they would have joined hyuman society if they wanted to. Being given immortality and being erased from history isn’t a bad thing since you can go around and do whatever you want without ever worrying about your fame. But these guys… obviously they are planning something.
that part about morals, I was talking about in anime, novels, manga. The typical Japanese in those works. I wasn’t referring to real life nationalities.

        1. Even in mangas, animes, and novels there appear loose morals japanese people. I mean in all those novel where the MC comes for revange his former-colleges are pretty shitty and stuff. Well by the Assasin explonation it wasn’t like they jumped at the prospect of inmortality, but heck problaly the didn’t denied it either.

    2. “So futsu was saved by these apple fellas? ” when the hell did that happen? Futsu’s dead. What do you guys keep making up fanfics in the comments???

  33. The star of this chapter is Rokuya! You the man!! finally someone told makoto to bang his already prepared wifus. Also I kinda want to see how tomoe and mio acts if theyd have a baby with makoto. Itll be super cute thinking about there maternal instincts

  34. So… let me get this straight.
the guild system is based on an online game guild system from earth.
that system exist because it was an ability given by the goddess for a group of people that she summoned to her world.
also to make the system become a ‘core’ of the world, Root worked alongside the goddess meaning the system is actually tied to her.
I think… I get it. The reason the system malfunctioned on Makoto because he is not blessed by that damn goddess. it’s like inserting a character from another game to your own game without proper code tweaking.

      1. Me too man… me too.
Actually now that I think about it the whole guild level system did not make sense. How did they calculate level? Does character stats exist? If this is based on RO, Where is the job level? or that level is actually job level? How did they assign EXP? So the thought transmission is actually the whisper system? Since Sakai is a foreign skill from a foreign god did the system detected it properly?
I have so many questions, but let’s stop before I written a whole page about it.

    1. -that system exist because it was an ability given by the goddess for a group of people that she summoned to her world.- Really they were summoned by the Goddes?? I though that the summoned of humans was a really big deal for the Gods thats whay the Goddes had to sircunvent to summon Makoto and the current Heroes. Either way i think thats a big plot hole there.
-I think… I get it. The reason the system malfunctioned on Makoto because he is not blessed by that damn goddess. it’s like inserting a character from another game to your own game without proper code tweaking. – Well thats an interesting theorie but he did got the lenguage blessing from her.

      1. When I said ‘blessing’ I mean the general protection, stats up, resistance up kind of thing that the goddess endowed on the hyuman and the heroes. what the goddess ‘give’ to makoto is more of a skill, a passive one, but still a skill that I think worked without a connection to her (completely independent) and can’t be dispelled.

      2. He never said he was summoned by the Goddess though. And the powers they received, it is not specified who gave them the power.
There’s already another existence confirmed that can give powers aside from the Goddess in this world. And that doesn’t mean there’s an actual need for them to receive them, maybe they were awakened powers.

        1. Yes but he hinted that they recieved powers or blessing by the same entity, and so far Makoto has only recieved blessings by the Goddes and Tsuki-bro, now by what Tsuki explained at the beggining supposedly there is a high restriction of transporting humans from earth since they adapted to such a ridiculous world as earth they tend to disrupt the balance of the world that they are going. I don’t think that Tsuki-bro would have purposedly sended all of them there, when even transporting just one means such a risk. By the way I thanks for the replay.

  35. Just getting better and better. Geez, I’m looking forward to the fight. Thanks for both the chapters.

  36. Damn, After reading some of the comments, I like Rokuya a lot to this point. He actually told off Raidou, herbivorous indeed. A late bloomer, I’m starting to think he’s gay.I don’t know what kind of babies they’d have but Tomoe and Mio or any of the other females are no slouches. A serious harem just waiting to be plowed. Is Rokuya an esper? Or was it the expression on Raidou’s face? Basically, I’d like to see the outcome of these matchups myself. I think when it comes to the females in this game/world, Makoto is a pantywaist. Sticking to the belief he’ll somehow make it back to Earth, even though the possibility is like a hundred million to one. Plus, his luck isn’t good to begin with. Homeboy will be a 40 year old virgin at this point. Just saying.

  37. “Could it be, I’m quite the herbivorous?”
About time he figures it out… Any other man would’ve laid hands on his followers long ago. If not the followers, than some other woman in Asora or in Academy City… Heck even Rembrant’s daughters. It’s unnatural how he doesn’t seems to have any sex drive at all.

      1. You know, after the Gorgons were introduced I don’t recall any of them approaching Makoto? And there was that one he saved in academy town. Ester, I think it was? Didn’t she get intercepted by Lime? It’s a near certainty that Mio and Tomoe have their subordinates running interference to keep women from making moves on Makoto, and yet they themselves have been somewhat passive since they want Makoto to make a move on them.

        1. Mio and Tomoe already claimed dibs on him, so yeah I am pretty sure they had a little talk with the gorgons in private, but the author hinted that as soon as they got acepted, thay already had plans for him.

  38. Thanks for the chapter. Reading the story of Root and how he made the adventures guild by sacrificing the Earth Dragon reminds of the Clamp manga series “X/1999”. How the dragons of heaven are fighting to protect humanity but the dragons of earth are fighting to save the earth by destroying humanity. Except the Earth dragon did not want to use this adventure guild but it sounds like Root wanted to use it because it looked like a good way to kill time and it was fun. Makes me realize that Root might be more dangerous then thought he was.

  39. Rokuya might have said all that, I wonder when will Makoto realize the true desires of Tomoe and Mio …
Oh, and I hope for developmenet with SHiki and his student

    1. Makoto knows about it, he even acknowledged it in this chapter. The thing is, right now he said he is placing more importance on returning to Earth, and he’s afraid that if he enters a relationship with Tomoe and Mio he’ll lose his motivation/desire of returning to Earth.
He already said that their place in his heart is greater than his two friends who proposed to him back on Earth, and it’ll probably keep growing.

      1. He ia being a pathwtic loser
        Scratch that
The author is being a pathetic loser
Root is an evil whore, who couldve seen that coming (everyone)
        So many retarded things

  40. Am I the only one who a few chapters ago caught onto the fact that th3 basis of the whole Adventures Guild is the job class system from Ragnarok Online? It is actually a good trip down memory lane for me seeing that the author decided to use this MOM for the basis. Also as always thanks for the translations !

    1. This seemed pretty evident to me as well, but then again, it WAS a pretty successful MMORPG for its time; shame the successor is nowhere near as fun for me

  41. So I was thinking, and I’d just realized something.
You know what Makoto could bring that would probably go a really long way in building relations with Apple? The various fruits gathered from Asora. Asora is heavily Japanese, and fruits are one of the few foods you can’t simply replicate after knowing what they look and taste like.
As Japanese otherworlders, Apple members probably all have some level of a craving for the nostalgic tastes of their homeland-even more so if they’re immortal.

    1. That sounds more lie bribery that negotiations, it will be like “…you want more?? Then come work for Tsigue defence (evil smile)”

  42. So did Root marry before or after banging the whole squad damn sharing women will always be weird to me.

  43. One thing is for sure….I don’t wanna live long and neither do i wanna be some carnivores too….being a herbivore is a big NO too….but still….Who can tell that the child root bore was of mamoru?

  44. At first I was only annoyed at Root, but now, I thoroughly hate that character.
First off, she/he is a slut. (Yes I am a sexist crucify me now. But I just can’t see any woman who does GB by will, RL or Porno in a good light. Its hot, true. But not a wife material afterwards, just a SFriend.)
Second, she/he is a huge bitch. Hope Makoto just offs her/him somewhere in the story 😐

  45. Yeah. Makoto has no validity to the way he thinks. Hell, when he beat the crap out of the world gate God he openly declared that he wasn’t planning to return to the origin world without bringing all of Asora, all of his followers and worshippers with him. Now, he is saying he is scared to form an intimate relationship because it will interfere with his desire to return. Come on author! This is such an excellent story, all except the totally unrealistic main character! What 17-19 year old boy is scared to have sex? Especially when tons of gorgeous women are seriously trying to sleep with him. This is the only failure I can really see in this story, but it is really frustrating as a reader that enjoys realism and relatibility in the characters I read about. Even rape boy Tomoki is at least a plausible character. Makoto reeks of contrivance. I know it isn’t our awesome translators fault, but I feel this need to say something somewhere and I can’t communicate with the author so I can only state my opinions here. Sorry.

  46. rereading this chapter gave me the conclusion that no matter what, makoto will gain immortality because asora would be gone when makoto dies

  47. “Us six”
    weren’t they ten?
“No well, you see, it is been a while already, so there’s things that are just hard to advance towards…” (Makoto)
Is there a limit to how irritating you are Makoto? I really resent the author for making such a piece of crap frustrating MC in this great novel, Does he enjoy watching the readers get Diabetes reading his novel?! About Matoko, I don’t hate his principle about waiting until marriage(actually I respect him greatly for that) but his response to the question is just… AHH!!
“Could it be, I’m quite the herbivorous?”
you are equipmentless piece of ****
‘Sleeping with somebody will only be with the person I have decided to marry for the rest of my life’, that kind of ideal is so far from reality it is close to being a delusion”
Why is it a delusion? this dude is meddlesome, what’s the difference with the Original world.
“But if we were to cross the line, I feel like a variety of restrains will be broken.”
    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH PLEASE KILL ME!!!
“Why?! If what you have done is true, then that bad treatment of Root would be similar to what the Goddess did to m—!!” (Makoto)
please don’t change your stance towards her, you only wanted to punch her after all

    1. Muramatsu Iori
      Munemori
      Sou Mamoru
      Are they the same person?
“There’s also the matter with Root’s husband, the legendary swordsman, Iori-san”
“that guy Munemori not only got the trust of Root, he even married her”
“This is my first time hearing that his husband was a person named Sou Mamoru”

      1. Sou mamoru and Munemori are same, base on wiki fandom.
Muramatsu Iori is a fairly tale hero, and also questionable if he/she exist.

  48. 1. go for it Rokuya, do reprimand him. Hahaha
    2. Wooow! What a shocking revelation. 😆
    3. Thanks for the chapter Reigokai-san.

  49. If nothing else, Rokuya giving Makoto “The Talk” probably dealt a heavy blow to the foundations of “The Great Wall of Celibacy”.
    Thumbs up, you madlad.

    1. That’s all there is to it, and there’s no need to think too deeply about it.” (Rokuya)”
Those words felt so good. Rokuya is one of us.

  50. Currently no, but in a future if you want to don’t make sad Tomoe, Mio and Shiki you will need immortality Makoto.
I don’t like, I don’t like one bit their situation, it feels like if that master they talk is like other Makoto and that feel unpleasant, really.

    1. “in the past, the figures of Hasegawa and Higashi were definitely bigger than Tomoe and Mio.”
The figures of the girls you rejected? Really? I repeat: REALLY?

    1. Finally someone slapping Idioto in the face with reality. Now that I think about it. The first time I read this, his behavior in this regards bothered the hell out of me. So much so that I avoid, for the most parts, stories with this level of stupid in regards to the opposite sex. I’ve come to deplore dense protags.

      1. I believe this part was actually inconsistent. Makoto isn’t dense from what I’ve seen before, since he’s actually aware of Tomoe and Mio’s affections for him but he just never wanted to respond to them in any way other than seeing them as part of his family and not his lovers. Its what made me respect him since hes not a cliche dense protag who just doesn’t know that they like him, but rather Makoto is aware of it but lets it develop properly before he actually accepts them.

        1. Okay, you have a fair point there. And in honesty this chapter brought up a lot of my frustrations with some works. It’s not soo much the “Dense” protagonist, it’s more that There’s a difference of letting things happening naturally and never moving forward. I agree I DID like that part where he isn’t dense, but for 2 YEARS they have been showering him with attention and he did nothing. It wasn’t because he wasn’t interested, but the author made it out that he did it through sheer willpower, when nearly 200 chapters ago, he had the MC going through a crisis of wanting a woman and being blocked by Mio and Tomoe. Then a few chapters later the situation was not talked about anymore.

Also, about the whole dense thing. The author almost seemed to do a complete 180 on this when he thought Mio and Tomoe would get mad at what was said. Even though they have been trying to do exactly that for 2 years. Almost like he thought they had no attraction to him. It’s just too inconsistent sometimes. Then there’s the whole part where he thinks that he is normal, when he should well know that he is completely abnormal when it comes to relationships. I mean the guy might have some self image/esteem issues, particularly since coming to this world, but even he knew that he was “pathetic” in terms of relationships when he was caught in Shen’s illusion way back at the beginning of the story.

The MC knows that he is abnormal when it comes to the opposite sex, yet thinks he is completely normal. Knows the girls have a thing for him and are thirsty as fuck for him, yet thinks they are just teasing him, which admittedly they do but with serious intentions, and is surprised when they don’t get mad at the words of that guy. I mean come on author, be a little consistent in the relationship department. I mean seriously he KNEW that Mio was going to ask to sleep with him, yet the next day treats it as her just having drunk too much. Even though he KNOWS that Mio and Tomoe AREN’T affected by alcohol.

*Heavy Breathing* Okay rant over. Feel better now. lol

          1. Lol it’s nice this made you feel better. I do agree with you for the most part on how inconsistent the romantic development between Makoto, Tomoe, and Mio has been. However, unlike other isekai in general, I appreciate that it’s treated much more subtly and less obnoxious or obsessive. I have a pretty low bar for any harem or romance for isekai or anime in general (since most are ridiculous, or underdeveloped and meaningless), and I think keeping low expectations is what lets me see the relationship between these 3 as a much more positive development than how it’s treated in others. I probably can’t offer an objective view though since the slow buildup for their relationship hasn’t really bothered me, and the other subplots and main plot have more than made up for it. Plus, not every girl is just throwing themselves at Makoto like other series usually have them do (which is annoying when the girl is meaningless for anything else). I really like that it’s just Tomoe and Mio mainly, cause it gives more meaning to their development and the formation of the strong love they now feel for Makoto. At first, it wasn’t serious imo, and I appreciate the author trying to develop it before letting it succeed.

But if you want to try to justify why Makoto may have been trying to push off responding to their feelings, you could say that since he wasn’t open to polygamy when he learned of it, he may have been avoiding responding to one of their affections cause it’d likely chain and he’d have to respond to the other’s affections too. Plus, as repeatedly stated, Makoto was still living as if he were Japanese for the most part and more connected with his own world than the world he’s actually living in. I see his acceptance of their feelings as indication of his moving on from his own world, and forming deeper connections with this one as the other heroes have done. Although this wasn’t continuously hinted in his thoughts, these are two reasons that could justify the slow pacing of their relationship. As for those other main occasions you mentioned, I did feel they were inconsistent for sure, but it just didn’t bother me much since there was other stuff in the plot to look forward to. I’m not a fan of romance or harem in general, so I don’t really have much to say in this regard lol.

            Nice talking with you.

          2. I feel you 100% on Makoto and I think at this point the two biggest concerns he has are that if he does initiate a more intimate relationship it means he is giving up on being Japanese even though he was planning on figuring out in how to go back and forth between Asoran and Japan freely so he would not be abandoning them and the other is his life span… Tomoe and Mio are for all intents and purposes immortal compared to him. He probably feels that he would end up breaking their hearts with grief by dying far in advance of them.

Personally I am still banking on Makoto achieving demigod or god status accidentally without him even realizing it. A combination of him filling awakening and the prayers the denizens of Asora are directing to him

      2. I personally do not like harem stories without development where everyone falls in love with the protagonist because he is perfect and has sex with everything that moves (cof..garbage brave..cof) but in this case I feel that in 3 years the writer It could well have developed a little more its relationship with some moments in which they share feelings, but the authors always go to the extreme, is it too much to ask for a good romantic development, neither too fast nor too slow?

    1. Sorry but i don’t like root, I would not do it with root either, I feel her too much …. I don’t know …..not feminine enough, just her personality is not my type, my favorite is Mio

      1. You dont think of Root as feminine because it was introduced as a male, in Overgeared we have Sariel who is a angel capable of changing its sex, it is described as a being of ultimate beauty be it male or female but its actions and intro are that of a female, and Root here is the same, these people in the past only interacted with Female Root and they were normal humans with normal mindsets and normal desires, being offered affection from a Gorgeous woman and being single there is no rational excuse aside being Homossexual or incapable of some sorts to decline the invitation

Makoto is the only weird one incapable of making emotional connections with women and other normal persons

      1. That’s a gangbang. Highly doubt the guys were doing anything with each other. Provided it was even a group thing.

    2. Yeah…. I lost any interest in Root as a heroine at that moment. Was holding out some hope… but that ruined it for me.

      1. Man i feel you!
        That literally my feeling
I reread the story from strat and that part break my hope like breaking glass
It reminded me of kabakura from wutokoi

        1. Lol when I read this story for the first time I felt the same way. When I read it the second time it was the same. But now I’m re-reading it for the third time, and my negative feelings towards Ruth have subsided a bit. Although not completely … Now it’s just a slight disappointment and something like contempt

  51. I truly cant understand makoto here. I know he really looks with bad eyes the destinity of the members of Apple, but…. The guy in person is telling him he is ok with it (even more so, if they were really against the idea they would have rejected root, its not like she is all powerful), so i dont understand why he takes it so personal. I feel like he was projecting himself too much into the situation, thats the only thing i can think to explain his reactions

    1. You seem to be misunderstanding something. They didn’t agree to it, nor are they okay with it. It was forced on them by Root, and they have merely given up and accepted it after 1000’s of years.
If it was something they agreed to, then there wouldn’t be one of them who is still fighting against it, nor would Futsu have gotten so riled up over it.

  52. Could it be, I’m quite the herbivorous?

Yes you are, 1 droplet of testosterone away from asexuality

Rokuya-san is a Wise -though I don’t know from what era he is-

He just told you he was playing online MMO(RPG?) so max 10 years. Realise you have little to no sex drive already man

Thank God Rokuya for calling him on his bullshit, there’s a limit to being dense

    1. He is not a dense protagonist, because a dense MC does not realize that the girls are in love with him, but Makoto does know it but he does not want to ruin the family relationship he has with them besides that doing that would make him accept that he is part of that world and he does not want to stop being Japanese, besides that he does not want to take responsibility for their feelings, it is an emotional limitation of which he realizes it is not because he is dense or because he has not developed, besides those Japanese…weeell they cross the line a little, I mean a harem with hundreds of members is already ridiculous, also I would not want to do it with root I prefer Mio

        1. He dont want to do it. Just leave the man be. Its like forcing your friend to have sex with someone that likes him because he havent got laid in 2years. Its so stupid. He is free to do whatever he wants in his own pace just like the moon god told him to do. So quit your whinning and sit your superiority complex down.

    2. Well if read the extra, you will be understand that his share of life not as simple of other hyuman and human, even compare among same blood relative(his parents and sister/elder sister) which taste share of hardness hyuman body in origin world makoto case is worse.
‘I want in same standing of other so is too soon for me to love someone’ is most likely what his thinking cause he himself think he is Pleabean ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      1. I don’t understand why some people don’t read extras. Everything is explained there, including the behavior and strength of the main character.

    3. Pretty ironic. If the gender was reversed, Makoto was a girl and his followers were male nobody would comment like this. You would probably even call his followers creepy if they were just a bit more aggressive. If he(still female makoto) were to accept it, you would even treat him like how people in this comment treat root, like a whore lmao

      1. Nah bro we’re all for gender equality here. Even though a female MC having a harem is less relatable when you’re yourself a man, it doesn’t make it any less legitimate tho. (Take Beware the Villainess! for example, even if it’s not really a harem)

  53. Man, some people just can’t wait for Makoto to become a horny man with no restraint. Like, just watch an hanime or doujin. Not everyone decides to do it 30 minutes after meeting one another.

  54. At last someone slapped him in the face that he is the weird asexual eunic and forced him to admit to himself he doesn’t want relations or to enjoy the world he is in because he is obsessed with slapping the goddess down and then returning to Japan.

He doesn’t want to get too close to anyone as he plans to leave and rather that what he said before in anger at the door God he has no intention of returning or bring anyone with him. He is both incredibly stubborn and even more selfish than the Goddess in this regard.

He clearly doesn’t care for the feelings of even his so called friends and family of this world. I have now come to the conclusion even the pervert Tomoki is a better person in his core than Makoto who deep down doesn’t value anything except following his daily routine of archary practice in Japan and likely won’t realise what he has untill he loses it all or thows it all away.

    1. Makoto definitely cares about Asora at least as much as his original friends and family. You can hardly say he doesn’t when he’d be perfectly willing to erase individuals, groups, or even countries if any of them were harmed.

What I took away from this was that he’s scared that going all the way with Tomoe and Mio would make him completely abandon any thoughts of returning to his original world. Given that his end goal is to be able to freely travel between both worlds, I can understand his hesitancy.

Of course, it could also just be excuses he’s making to himself to avoid confronting the issue. But at the very least I can understand his outward stance.

  55. Its surprising how many people refuse to recognize that asexual people exist.

While Makoto isn’t ace, it is unreasonable to assume that everyone is constantly horny. People have different levels of hormones and regardless of how long two people have been together: no means no. While i know a lot of people in the comments section are unaware that they are promoting rape, hopefully this can serve as a wake up call for them.

That said if there are two or more consenting adults; then as long as you respect each others safe words and none of you are desecrating a dead body, you do you.

In the end it comes down to him not currently being ready for a sexual relationship, which although both Mio and Tomoe are ready, they respect his decision (just google some sex ed videos if you want examples of real relationships where one member wasn’t ready to advance and what the healthy response is in such a situation)

  56. I like Romance but I hate normal cliche harem isekai. The reason I hooked up on this novel is because it doesn’t have annoying harem and the plot is interesting. As Makoto said, the reason he didn’t put his hands on Mio and Tomoe at first is because he still had some kinda feelings for the girls from his high school(Hasegawa and Azuma I guess).
That’s why he pissed of the first time in the story when the adventures abducted Toa who has the same face as Hasegawa.
Those girls still love Makoto and we can see it clearly if we read side stories.
Well I also think it’s about time Makoto develop his relationship with Mio and Tomoe.

  57. The history of this world, which we still have no name for by the way!, is very complex huh? So many curtains behind other curtains and history forged, rewritten, destroyed and forgotten. I suppose in a sense that’s a somewhat realistic situation. How many years of our own history has been left behind and how much of our current day will be glossed over or forgotten… It’s a terrifying and also humbling thought.

  58. Being in a world that literally every hyuman is beautiful, and still doesn’t show any interest in the opposite sex, is not normal imo, period. But well, this isn’t an erotic novel anyways so i’ll just focus on the plot’s loopholes instead.

  59. Ragna-Rokuya.
It just occurred to me why they were so over powered. They weren’t playing RO… They were playing JRO. The balance there… Doesn’t exist and never really did.
Also, all those multiverses that keep getting deleted by the gods that Makoto had visions of…. Private servers and official servers being closed down one after the other.
Still, RO is alive today but no one hardly plays it. Just like the people of origin. Not dead but forgotten by most.

  60. “we don’t have time for this shit! so just focus on the main plot and let’s go!”

How I wish that was the author’s actual thoughts. I’ve never laughed at kid panicking because they saw tits. Instead of wasting time on gags that don’t land, I’d rather they just advanced the plot.

    1. yeah, I don’t like these gags too for a number of reasons, one being it’s too surreal/fake/forced or cringy (like my niece used to say).. but anyways, you’ll see later on the author showed me I’m bad at reading between the lines lol
