Chapter 187: Gossip – Mind’s eye

At the time when Makoto had met with the two heroes and the Demon Lord, the Kuzunoha Company’s Rotsgard store was really busy.

The reason is simple, there’s not enough hands.

The person that’s basically in charge, Shiki, was absent along with his master, and Lime Latte who handled the order taking and delivery, as well as being in the counter, was also absent because of Tomoe’s order.

The store that has become wider has a reputation that increases and doesn’t decrease.

The employees were unable to handle the customers that arrived.

Of course, there were preparations made beforehand for big transactions, but even so, it was on the borderline of not being able to handle it.

“S-Soon’s time to close. But I can’t take it any longer. I am leaving early…”

“Are you sleep talking, Eris? Actually, increase the amount of doubles. The customers are coming as if it’s the last spurt.”

“Hahaha, Akua, I am already a fallen rag. Even if you wring me out, nothing will drip. If I continue attending the customers in this state, even my cosmos will dry up.” (Eris)

“See, a regular of yours came. Smile smile.” (Akua)

“Hm, welcome~~!! Hah…it has already been deeply ingrained in me!!” (Eris)

One hour before sunset.

The Kuzunoha Company has received a big amount of customers today too, and the two girls with darkish skin were moving their feet as if there were several people existing, and were doing their best in attending their customers.

The tall height Akua and the short Eris.

Both of them were staggering already. There’s Akua who was somehow enduring, and Eris who is despairing at the remaining time.

The sales limit that the shopkeeper Raidou placed was the saving grace of those girls.

Because there’s that, they are able to see a goal.

If they were selling goods with no limit, if they were to sell goods until closing time, the two of them would have probably fallen already.

Raidou’s sense for money as a merchant was dull, but this time, the sell limit he set up before going to the Demon Lord audience had coincidentally been a splendid choice.

It could also be said to be a point that made the employees wring out their stamina to the limit.

“It’s less than one hour now. Fight on, Eris. Even if you are all dried up, wring yourself out as if you were to break. And then, drink. Drink with everyone.” (Akua)

“If Lime were here…if at least Lime were here…” (Eris)

“Because of Tomoe-sama’s orders, he is in Lorel at this moment. Don’t ask for the impossible.” (Akua)

“…I have decided. I will be drinking a lime flavored banana bliss today.” (Eris)

“The cocktail that Lime suggested huh. Even if he looks that way, he is unexpectedly a reliable man after all. About that alcohol, Waka-sama gave it a name, so maybe there’s already a precedent though.” (Akua)

“…In a tankard.” (Eris)

“…It won’t liberate you, you know. But I will accompany in one drink. Then let’s have a drinking party today at Asora. Yeah, let’s do our best.” (Akua)

“So number six was not enough. I have to wake up already. The ultimate cost.” (Eris)

“That’s why I’m telling you to stop sleep talking. Ah, welcome~! Today…yes, that’s right. I really did think that it was a bit fast for the season. Then, how about this one here?” (Akua)

“I am expecting the souvenir to be expensive…damn Lime!!!” (Eris)

The night was only beginning, but it was to the point that closing was in sight already.

The Kuzunoha Company was prosperous.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

“Achoo!”

“Ara Lime, is that a cold?”

“No, someone must have been gossiping about me.” (Lime)

“It would be good if that’s the case though. You are vigorous at night after all. I hope you won’t get stabbed in time.”

“It is a different body from the one I use when acting separately from hero-dono’s party. Don’t worry.” (Lime)

There’s roof tiles and godowns, but in this strange scenery of a town that’s slightly different from that of Japan, there’s a male and female walking.

The man is Lime Latte, a member of Kuzunoha Company, and currently acting together with the hero.

The woman is Otonashi Hibiki.

Entitled as a hero by the Limia Kingdom, and also the existence that serves as the hope of hyumans in the war between hyumans and demons.

The shopkeeper of the Kuzunoha Company, Raidou -or Mizumi Makoto-, was in a relationship of senior and junior with her.

“It is not like I am telling you to stop indulging in women at night. I do think that if you are doing it fairly, I don’t really mind.” (Hibiki)

“Heh~, for a young woman, you are tolerant.” (Lime)

“Wudi has a wife and baby, and he is head-over-heels in love with her. Bredda doesn’t seem to have the spirit to buy prostitutes. Looking at him, I think he doesn’t have experience with women yet. I don’t intend to tell him to play around with women, but I don’t have much opinion of it either.” (Hibiki)

“…There’s still one more thing regarding Bredda, right?” (Lime)

“So you could tell huh. He seems to like me. I am happy to be liked but…I don’t intend to answer his feelings.” (Hibiki)

“How straight. Then I think telling him quickly would be kindness in itself.” (Lime)

“If he confesses to me, I will properly reject him. To reject him because I have noticed his feelings, don’t you think that would leave a bad aftertaste? He also has to properly resolve himself and say it. I think that putting an end to it in this way, will leave less regrets. Aren’t men like that?” (Hibiki)

“…I don’t know if to call you kind or strict. Well, it is not my business. I was the one who threw the conversation, but please do as you please.” (Lime)

Lime lifts his hands up and shrugs his shoulders.

“I will do that. Sorry for having you accompany me today.” (Hibiki)

“Don’t worry. The two are down with an endemic disease, so it can’t be helped.” (Lime)

“Wudi and Bredda are unlucky. Or maybe Lime is the lucky one.” (Hibiki)

“It is without doubt me being lucky. That’s why I am alive, and working at the Kuzunoha Company.” (Lime)

“Can I hear about that?” (Hibiki)

“I don’t mind. Well, there’s a lot I can’t answer though.” (Lime)

“…What’s that. In the first place, why are you in Lorel when you should be doing business at Rotsgard and Tsige?” (Hibiki)

At the location that Hibiki and Lime were walking to, there’s a building bigger than others.

At the end of the long stairs, there’s a temple.

Their steps told that this is their objective.

“Lorel’s big shots are inviting my boss all the time. Telling him if he wants to put a store here. And so, I am doing a preliminary inspection. Being together with you guys was a coincidence, you know?” (Lime)

Lime’s true objective is to investigate the movements of Hibiki and her party.

But in order to have them think otherwise, he gives out a reason that Tomoe properly laid out beforehand.

In that point, there were no holes.

“The big shots huh. The names?” (Hibiki)

“Hey hey, it feels like you are interrogating me. It is someone called Sairitz. You are free to confirm with the other party, but I ask you to keep it a secret that you heard this from me. If they learn that I am here to inspect, there will be a parade of thought transmissions and letters coming to Boss again. You are the senpai of Boss, right? Lending a bit of help to your kohai would be nice.” (Lime)

“Sairitz… Hmph~, understood. I won’t bring out your name.” (Hibiki)

“Counting on that.” (Lime)

“If you are talking about senpai and kohai, I would want some helping hand for the senpai as well.” (Hibiki)

“You are the senpai, so I ask you to be a bit tolerant on that. Boss is filled to the brim busy, and is suffering.” (Lime)

“…What a troublesome kohai.” (Hibiki)

The two walk up the wide stone stairs.

At the center there’s a handrail, and a lot of people are walking up.

It can be seen at one glance that there were a lot of people on their pilgrimage.

“Even so…Lorel is really enthusiastic about their Spirit religion. If I remember correctly, it is a Water Spirit. It is clearly receiving more believers than the Goddess.” (Hibiki)

“For the commoners, they are the ones who have more appearance than the Goddess, and also, the High Spirits are a strong existence, so it is a religion that’s plenty reasonable to direct their belief at. Also, even if I say it is a Spirit religion, Spirits are all serving the Goddess, it is in essence, a religion of the Goddess.” (Lime)

“You seem to be…quite knowledgeable.” (Hibiki)

“To the point that you have a different impression of me now? Then let me add one more thing while at it. In the past, at the time when the demon race made its great march, the Earth and Fire Spirit that lend their help to them were called low Spirits because of it. In truth, the medium Spirits that possess will of their own, there are some that are called High Spirits but…well, regarding these two, there aren’t many hyumans or demons that continue their belief towards them though. Dwarfs are stubborn so they continue their faith towards the Earth Spirit, but because of their proficient arm in smithing, their eyes are not focused on it.” (Lime)

“…Impressive. Are the employees of Kuzunoha Company required to have these amount of knowledge before being allowed to enter?” (Hibiki)

“I wonder. In our place, we have a tendency to excel at one trait, so there’s no real need to know things, as long as you have a specialty, you can manage to enter, probably.” (Lime)

“Then maybe I should enter as well. With the connection of Misumi Makoto.” (Hibiki)

“A connection is not a talent. Is the job of a hero darker than it shows?” (Lime)

“Pitch black. The environment is also close to the worst. Well, what’s more important is if it’s worth doing huh. I can’t stop after all. Can’t I work in the side lines? Even if it’s by connection, I am confident that I will be an employee that can bring you benefits though.” (Hibiki)

“Our place doesn’t accept being a side job. Too bad.” (Lime)

“Ara. Fuh~ we have finally arrived. Seriously, what a long stair. Chiya-chan said she is almost done but, what do you think?” (Hibiki)

“If she can’t handle this much, she would be lacking in training. Even if you ask me what I think, I can’t say anything since I don’t know what that Priestess is doing. I only tagged along with you here.” (Lime)

“…You really don’t know what Chiya-chan is doing?” (Hibiki)

“…Yeah, I don’t.” (Lime)

“Then, I will leave it at that.” (Hibiki)

“I’m not being trusted.” (Lime)

“Fufu.” (Hibiki)

While doing small talk, Hibiki and Lime enter the temple.

After doing a simple check and confirming their identity, they were led into a room inside the temple.

The reason why they came -or more like Hibiki came- was because she was told that her party member, the Priestess Chiya’s training would be finished by today.

Even if she is young, she is a dependable comrade, and Hibiki herself has come to meet her.

She wanted her party members Wudi and Bredda to come with her, but they are ill right now. That’s why, for some reason, Hibiki came along with Lime, a Kuzunoha Company employee she met at Lorel.

Even Hibiki could only say that she instinctively invited him.

Because she felt that going alone would be dangerous.

Lime didn’t get agitated at the sudden invitation of the hero. He carefreely accepted to go along with her to her destination.

There’s no better distance to accomplish the order of Tomoe to investigate the hero’s movement, so his actions could be said to be obvious.

“And? That Priestess-san, how does she get stronger?” (Lime)

“That’s a secret.” (Hibiki)

“If possible, I would be grateful if she were to grow able to defend herself.” (Lime)

“Grateful? What do you mean by—!!” (Hibiki)

Hibiki’s face showed agitation in one instant.

“So you noticed.” (Lime)

“Something’s strange.” (Hibiki)

“Strange huh. Well, if you are saying this out of instinct, that’s pretty impressive. That, draw it out.” (Lime)

Lime places a hand to the katana at his waist, and looks at the sword at the back of Hibiki.

“An enemy? But Lorel has never received the invasion of the Demon race, not even once.” (Hibiki)

“Who knows. I don’t know about the demons, but for now, it is a matter of fact that they have secluded the space. The place we are in right now could be called a separate space.” (Lime)

“Secluding space? Are you saying a barrier has been activated?” (Hibiki)

“That’s how it is. But it is quite large-scale. I don’t think this is a defensive mechanism of the temple. Someone must have set this up at the shadows of the temple, taking its time. That’s how it feels.” (Lime)

Lime calmly analyzes the situation.

As a spy of the Kuzunoha Company, he didn’t show any signs of being agitated or bewildered.

He detected the abnormality faster than anyone, and had begun to think before anyone else.

“?!! Then, what about Chiya-chan?!” (Hibiki)

“Yeah, there’s a high probability that she is in danger. That’s why I tried asking how strong she has gotten.” (Lime)

“What kind of leisure is that! Lend me a hand. We will immediately go save her!” (Hibiki)

“…Okay, I will lend it. Don’t forget that word.” (Lime)

“Yeah, it is fine to think of it as a debt. I will return it in time.” (Hibiki)

“No no, there’s no need to think of it in such an exaggerated manner. It is fine to just tell me what that Priestess-san was planning on obtaining. I have a nature of wanting to know things that I want to know no matter what, you see.” (Lime)

“Then I will tell you while we move. You are a vanguard, right?” (Hibiki)

Hibiki asks after seeing the katana.

Lime nods.

“Yeah, even if it’s side by side, or back to back, I will do a decent job at it.” (Lime)

*Don*

Hibiki kicks open the wooden door.

The corridor showed a slight fluctuation as if warping, something it didn’t show in the past.

Different from a normal space, it was a scenery that was practically proving they were in an unstable place.

“Then follow me. I will have you do both side and back.” (Hibiki)

“Understood. First, right or left? Hero-dono knows the place where the Priestess-san is, right?” (Lime)

“Right. Also, it is fine to call me Hibiki. Calling me Hero-dono is kind of itchy. For people that stand in the same battlefield, I actually don’t want to be called in that way.” (Hibiki)

“Hibiki huh. If you want me to call you that way, I don’t really mind. Then, let’s go.” (Lime)

“Okay. Horn!” (Hibiki)

“Oh.” (Lime)

Responding to the call of Hibiki, the silver belt that was wrapped around her waist summoned a type of wolf.

“Let’s go to where Chiya-chan is. If you notice something, tell me.” (Hibiki)

The wolf nods at the words of its master.

It seemed like it was able to understand the meaning.

“If you were going to summon, tell me so. I got surprised there.” (Lime)

“Ara, I am sorry. I normally don’t team up with temporary members, so I was indifferent about it.” (Hibiki)

Two people and one animal run.

Just like what Lime said, the temple had become like a dungeon.

There were times when the corridor went a different course, and doors that had no locks couldn’t be opened. Also, there were mamonos appearing in the temple; something that would never happen.

They were all hostile, and mercilessly attacked Hibiki’s group who were trying to hurry.

“You are fighting with quite the leisure!! As I thought, you are not a simple employee!” (Hibiki)

“I just have enough ability to be send to do a preliminary inspection in a foreign country. More importantly, counting that wolf-san over there, you possess power that doesn’t shame the name of hero. I see you in a different light now!” (Lime)

But Hibiki’s group didn’t deal with them. They were all mostly defeated in one hit, and they were actually increasing their speed as time went.

Lime was observing Hibiki at times, nodding at times, and following her perfectly.

He followed Hibiki’s speed without losing breath, moreover, looking at how he swung his sword as if reading her very breath, the phantom of her past companion surfaced in her mind, but she chased it away.

Hibiki told herself: ‘Naval won’t return’.

“Oh, looks like it is here?” (Lime)

“…Wah?” (Hibiki)

(This guy is incredible. His breathing is not affected at all. Moreover, he is acting in a way that doesn’t get in my way. He is really like Naval. No, he is most likely a lot more skilled than her.) (Hibiki)

Even though Hibiki was the one running ahead, she was surprised that she was more tired than Lime who was following from behind, and was also surprised by his movements.

“Should we rest for a bit? It seems the Priestess-san is safe, you know?” (Lime)

“…”

While recovering her breath, Hibiki silently shakes her head.

(Also, it is the same with me. I felt like I was clearly stronger than normal. Is this person, Lime, the one that brought out that power from me? No way, there’s no way that’s the case but…) (Hibiki)

She does a big sigh.

And then, when Hibiki lifts her gaze, there’s the back of Lime.

For some reason, that back of his looked quite big in Hibiki’s eyes.

“But, the heart’s eye? Or was it the mind’s eye? I’m surprised she was able to endure with only that power. She didn’t seem especially strong in fights after all, that Priestess-san.” (Lime)

Lime makes a reference of the new power of the Priestess that he heard from Hibiki in the way. The name of the power that Hibiki told Lime was the mind’s eye. The eye of the heart.

The power to see through the real appearance of the target without exceptions; a power that only the Priestess possesses. But Hibiki was hiding one thing from Lime.

That the mind’s eye is a power akin to a side effect.

The objective of this time’s ceremony was to enhance power in all aspects, and by doing that process, she also ends up obtaining the mind’s eye.

Hibiki didn’t tell Lime about the power enhancement.

“That’s…, no, let’s go!!” (Hibiki)

Hibiki almost told everything to Lime.

But just as she was about to, she stops.

It is certainly true that they cooperating now, but Lime Latte is a member of the Kuzunoha Company.

And in the eyes of Hibiki, the Kuzunoha Company is an incredibly dangerous existence.

She felt it was dangerous to reveal everything.

“Got it.” (Lime)

“!!”

Lime complies, and then opens the big door.

At that place, there’s the figure of Chiya on her knees, both hands put together, and her eyes closed making a prayer.

Then, she saw the strong barrier that was protecting her.

“Demons huh. Why is it, I feel like this doesn’t give off the smell of something planned. It is not good, and it is not like them either.” (Lime)

Lime mutters.

In his eyes, there were reflected three demons surrounding the Priestess’ barrier.

Lime could tell that she was breathing in and forming a spell.

At her surroundings, there’s the corpses of the Priestess’ bodyguards.

From the scenery that was reflected in his eyes, Lime felt some sort of occurrence involved in this ill-preparedness.

“Wait. Right, the mind’s eye huh. Because of her acquiring that ability, she saw things that she didn’t think would see, and that’s why those three got agitated and did this huh. Then this state is also…” (Lime)

“You!!” (Hibiki)

“!!!”

Lime was analyzing the situation from the information.

But it seems he was the only one who was calm.

Lime who heard an angered voice from his right side, looks at the direction where Hibiki should be.

The silver belt suddenly shone and wraps her whole body.

At the same time, Lime felt a strange upsurge of power, and in the next moment, Hibiki’s figure had disappeared.

That’s right, even in the eyes of Lime that were trained by Tomoe, Hibiki looked like she had disappeared.

Lime unconsciously felt something cold at his back.

“Gyaaa!!”

“…Seriously?” (Lime)

Hearing the scream at the front, Lime learned of Hibiki’s whereabouts.

She was at the side of Chiya’s barrier.

And there were three corpses of demons as well.

It wasn’t as if they could react to it.

Luckily, only the third one was able to scream because he ‘hit’ the barrier by reflex. The other two weren’t even able to react at all, and were severed in one strike.

The one who was able to scream as well, it clearly showed that he received a fatal hit from one attack.

It didn’t turn into an instant death, that’s all.

In no time, the demon spat out a large amount of blood and died.

(Good grief. It is the proper practice to let one live and have it spill out the beans. For Hibiki, that Priestess might be a special existence. In that case, if there’s a need to restrain her, that Priestess might be useful. There’s no real need to take her hostage; just by mentioning it to her, her movements would dull. Even so…that was unbelievable speed. Like that, I wouldn’t be able to react. If dealt wrong, I would also be defeated in an instant. I am glad I got to see it…along with that incredible outfit. It is more eye candy than scary. Let’s admire it.) (Lime)

Lime places the entire movements of Hibiki in his head. Counting the Priestess’ existence, the strong barrier she created, and the super speed that might be Hibiki’s ace.

…And also the really high exposure rate outfit she uses when showing that speed.

“Are you okay, Chiya-chan?!” (Hibiki)

“Hibiki-oneechan! You came! You really came~!!” (Chiya)

The barrier crumbles, and Hibiki and Chiya hug each other.

“I’m glad! I’m truly glad I made it in time! It is alright now, I am here.” (Hibiki)

“It was scary, but I believed that you would definitely come rescue me! That’s why I had my barrier up all the time and doing my best!” (Chiya)

Chiya’s way of dealing with the situation was truly childish, and at the same time, it could be said to be truly composed and brave.

Instead of going to a poor offensive, the chances of a mistake are low, and it will assure that she will live longer.

The price is that she wouldn’t be able to eliminate the enemy, so her chances of survival hinged on how much you can rely on someone coming to help.

Chiya betted on the help, and she splendidly won the bet.

“I’m sorry for ruining your heartwarming reunion, but how about returning for now, you two? Watching a child and a young girl hugging each other at a blood filled altar, is a bit unsavory.” (Lime)

“Uh…you are right. Lime, you really helped me out in this occasion. Thanks.” (Hibiki)

“Not really. I did properly get the compensation, so minding it too much will only tire me, please stop it. If it’s not enough to show your gratefulness, invite me a dinner. I will be fine with that. Hm? What’s wrong, Priestess-san?” (Lime)

“…A large tree that raises up a forest. Also…a dragon and welcoming rain.” (Chiya)

Chiya suddenly mutters this with distant eyes as she looks at Lime.

“…Ah?” (Lime)

“Chiya-chan?” (Hibiki)

“A person that gives a lot of peace of mind…” (Chiya)

“Hibiki, it seems the Priestess is quite tired. Quickly finish reporting this and have her rest. No matter the circumstances, she is still a child after all.” (Lime)

“Right, I will do that. Chiya-chan, can you stand?” (Hibiki)

“Yeah, I’m fine. Onee-chan is…Onee-chan. Amazing, nothing changed.” (Chiya)

“…Really?” (Hibiki)

“Yeah!” (Chiya)

Hibiki and Lime look at each other.

Wondering about Chiya-chan who is for some reason laughing happily.

The three leave the abnormal space of the temple’s altar, and head to the temple’s waiting room.

Lime was making a thinking expression as he walked, and suddenly lifted his head.

“Oh right, it might be troublesome if they learn that I am here, so I will be leaving first. See ya, Hibiki, Priestess-san.” (Lime)

“Wait a moment, you are an involved party as well!” (Hibiki)

“Lime-san!!” (Chiya)

“It is fine to just have it as if I wasn’t there and take the credit. Hibiki, don’t forget the dinner. I will be returning to the inn.” (Lime)

Lime says this rapidly, and leaves the two at the waiting room.

“That Priestess-san, it seems the mind’s eye sees something without regards to the other party’s mind protection. I should report this as well. This is bad, it is almost time to submit the report to Sis! I have to go to a place without people and return quickly!!” (Lime)

At the Lorel Union, Lime was involved with Hibiki bit by bit.

He still didn’t notice that this one incident would unexpectedly deepen his friendship with those girls.

  1. Sorry guys for the late release and not releasing a sponsored chapter.
Festivities, family, and all that stuff, made it difficult.
I will definitely do my best this week! >:3!

    1. Reigo-san, what is really important is that you are enjoying your work, and we all know that the festivities can jumble one’s time and schedule. Have a nice week.

          1. I don’t have a problem with cat wisdoms so much as I prefer philosophy-provoking question.

“Meat, why are you meat nanodesu…”

            Ah…

    1. Spoiler San hasn’t been spoiling anything lately. We need to know the outline of what’s in store in the future chapters.

  2. Awesome!!
    Thx as always.
You do what you have to do reigo-san, no one’s gonna be blaming you for being late a bit. You always spoil us leecher 😛

  3. 4 commentators were here after i read. i wonder how many after i post this comment?

thanks for the chapter, so Lime will be charmed? by hibiki huh, not that i care tho. i already read spoilers about this but it’s kinda interesting reading the whole story… no badass makoto today? too bad. im looking forward to next chapters.

  4. Thanks for the Chapter, Reigo-senpai

Oh, Spoiler-san’s back. And Spoiler-san is going to say something right now, remember the events of this chapter. The Mind’s Eye will be playing a part the next time Makoto and Hibiki meet.

    *Truck-kun comes a running*

    Spoiler-san has to go.

*Spoiler-san runs like the wind to avoid going back to the hospital*

    1. And I kinda think what you’re are saying, when the priestess-chan see the real form of….
Oh great, this Truck-kun is really unforgiving, see you in the next chapter Spoiler-san.

        1. Maybe all have different opinions about spoilers, so I’ll leave mine: for me they are just info that says the “what” but not the “how” what’s really important for the history unfold, but if it’s that important, I will try to not say too much, I apologise.

          1. No what I meant by “not spoiling” is that I have not read ahead so I really don’t know and I am just guessing. Sorry if it was confusing.

      1. OhMarioWV here, thank you Lime. I’m just lucky that Spoiler-san escaped Truck-kun this time. I REALLY wish Truck-kun would attack Spoiler-san when I’m not being possessed… like he did on Christmas.

  5. Thanks for the chapter!

Spoiler-san said “Lime x Hibiki ship gonna sailing soon, but it’ll sunk quickly. Don’t expect much on the next chapter”

    1. wew. it got me worried for a second there. I mean lime is a good person. but I think he is not good pair for hibiki. I think hibiki should paired up with no one. it’s simple because her ideology is not on the same page as kuzunoha company.

  6. Raise your flag~
    Lime raising flags~

    Thanks for the chapter

PS Wonder what would happen when Chiya’s eyes sees through Makoto? Would she go berserk? Would she faint first?

    1. She might not be able to see through Makoto, as his ‘Sakai’ is a power of a God, not just your everyday mortal voodoo magic. That being said I am pretty sure she can see through Mio’s human form, and we know that Hibiki’s party has a history with the black spider.

    1. Going by the flow, it’s more Hibiki who’s in danger of defecting. 🙂

Lime was just enjoying the company (and the view), while she was starting to see her lost companion in him.

    1. Hero Harem? As in more than one hero?

When did Lime have the time to work on Tomoki? Did Lime’s natural charms turn tables on Tomoki’s goddess-given charm power? Now that’s a chapter I’d definitely want to read. 😀

    1. The tree is probably Mondo, the Dragon that brings rain is (Big Sis) Tomoe and the person that brings peace of mind is most likely Makoto.

Atleast that’s how I interpret her “vision”.

      1. My original thoughts were that Makoto was the large tree that builds a forest(everyone in Asora) but I have seen people interpret as Mondo(his tree curse ability) or Shiki(he gave Mondo the tree curse ability) but after much thought its Mondo( Chiya sees through Lime and Mondo is his friend)
A dragon and welcoming rain is obviously Tomoe and Asora, Lime’s teacher and her mist
A calming person is Makoto, since Lime doesn’t have any deep connection with anyone else in Asora

    1. Ella vio aspectos de Lime, en vez de Asora, de las personas que influyen en el, al menos es lo que creo. Saludos hermano hispanoparlante.

  7. “He still didn’t notice that this one incident would unexpectedly deepen his friendship with those girls.”

Lime getting NTR’ed by Hibiki from Makoto’s gang…..

Binged read this for a week…Just caught up now…

  8. Thanks for the chapter. It makes me wonder if Lime will be more part of Hibiki group but still be with Makoto?

    1. Some flags are inevitable, and you kinda have to follow up after seeing Hibiki’s transformation. Some stories raise flags as an attack, or in revenge. Can you imagine being in Sevens, receiving a card from Lyle that says something like, “A Flag has been raised in your name,” what do you do after that?

      1. Even ‘Corrupted’ Lyle’s flag can be smashed BUT when MR.LYLE raises a flag, it is almost unbreakable, pray you don’t get caught up in war……a Harem war. Sevens’ 2nd Harem war(inside the Jewel) is Bloody but the…… War/Long campaigns after that are just……Also Shannon is best grill

  9. Lime is now acquainted with the hero. Hibiki also realises that Lime is like her previous teammate Naval, and Lime is a nice guy overall. I got a feeling something will happen between the 2 of them sometime in the future.

Thanks Reigokai. You’re still releasing the chapter every 3 days so its fine, nothing to be sorry about. About that sponsored chapters… well, no comment haha.

  10. Chapter before fever knocks me out on my birthday, then another chapter today, when the fog of illness let’s up, 2017 is off to a great start already! Thanks for the chapters Reigo-san.

  11. I usually read tsuki ga michibiku update at 12-1 pm at My country’s time zone… But now already updated at 8-9 am… Is update time schedule changed now? Well not that i complaining though…

Before i forget. Thanks for the chapter~

  12. Thanks for the chapter
So lime and hibiki are going to get closer…. wonder how Makoto will react when told that a trusted worker of his gets taken by Hibiki, also will Lime tell Hibiki, Raidou’s secrets because he trust her alot?

      1. Wait isn’t Hibiki just naturally charismatic? The person with the charm is Tomoki right? Or did I mix up the names of the heroes again?

        1. The goddess gifted Hibiki with increased charisma. It’s not on the same level as Tomoki’s Demon Eyes, but it does make her difficult to ignore. I’d imagine that if you knew about it, you could defend against it, unlike Tomoki’s charm, but if you don’t know, then you’re an easy victim.

      2. At least in the beginning he will think like that, until he remembers the reason of why he’s following Makoto: That how even the Goddess’s blessings and the heroes’s abilities are nothing against Absolute Power.

    1. Listen both the 2 heroes gifted a super power. Trash-moki has the offense enhancement, ultimate regen while at nigth and lastly Charm and For Hibiki-fool san she has speed, summon beast armament and lastly Charisma so tell me isnt that still betwitching ability the last 2 skill mention are bad and its not their own trait it was gifted to them by Bugdess cause it will distrup your mind and belief if u let it consume you. Witch all the asora hates it’s and mostly makoto hates it! Its not a natural gift trait if u ask me.

      1. It could be said that what the goddess gave to Hibiki was a boost to her natural charisma, (she was apparently very charismatic and popular in school), and her charisma can be resisted, but it becomes difficult to resist it if you don’t know about it. So, objectively, it isn’t as morally repugnant as Tomoki’s charm, but it makes her about as dangerous as those cult leaders from the ’70s-’80s.

    1. i wonder if chiya will see those kind of things? cause she already seen mio earlier in the story but never mentioned anything and shiki also. So my basis is that what chiya could see are only around hyumans dont know makoto though

    2. Blank person? I kinda get Makoto as a blank person. but 3 chains? Is it the Gods’ Blessings?

The bow is easy to interpret.

      1. And the extents of the blank person is so great and frightening that the Priestess-chan will faint on the spot.

      2. Hum…I think “Blank Person” refers to his secretive side.

That could have been “Dark person”, but the blank also means something pure, that has yet to become. At this point, and contrary to his dreams’s alter egos, MC-chan still posseses numerous (if not endless) different futures.

Regarding the three chains, at first glance, they seem to indicate his control over his three followers…However, viewing it the other way, chains on his hand could also means something that restrains him !
Those dreams always have in common the absence of one (or all) his followers, resulting in MC’s loss, death, or insanity. In some way, his retainers prevent him to lose himself.

In the end, “Blank Person” and the dreams point out the importance of his three companions.

Tch ! I ended up writing a damn long answer ! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH !

    3. A “blank person” could be interpreted as an agent of change, someone who can destroy the natural order. Or, thinking about the three dreams, it could become a mirror to reflect the world. Depending upon the true nature of the world in question, this could still lead to its destruction, as most are not able to face the reality of their true nature.

  13. thanks for the chap release!!

lime x hibiki or is it hibiki x lime? Well since lime resembled like their old comrade that died, but im betting lime’s favour more in the asora side than that of the hero. If theres some kind of lime being on the hero side, itll be likely just watching their movements then.

  14. Oh! I know why/how this whole thing happened. When Priestess power-upped and got the mind’s eye thing, she saw through the appearance of the demon infiltrators who were around her, they panicked and initiated a backup plan which involved activating that (in case of emergency/FUBAR) barrier prepared in advance, killing the guards who aren’t infiltrators, and likely kidnapping/killing Priestess. She was seeing through memories of Lime’s, or perhaps his character even? And she saw that she saw Hibiki as unchanged, which means what personality Hibiki shows is genuine her. So if she saw Makoto, Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki, she would see a Godly aura/sky-high pillar of magic power greater than all, a superior dragon (same with Root too I guess), Calamity Spider, and a skeleton/Lich respectively. It also seems to give insight to a person’s character and possibly memories in addition to seeing through all disguises to see one’s “true” form. Quite the troublesome ability for Makoto and gang who like not being too openly know as OP beings who can do whatever to the world at their leisure if they really want.

    1. If spoiler-san on animesuki is correct, Chiya saw Mio as the Calamity Spider and fainted. Don’t think she ever used her mind’s eye on Tomoe or Shiki though.

  15. welcome back my friend reigokai, let´s talk about business, i read chapt sponsored, so…how much is that? XD

  16. Finally …Thanks for the new chapter
dman last year miss out 4 chapter because of black and typhoon for a week until new year
always get stormed and hits us hard every last month of the year in our country(Philippines)
and the agony of waiting for 3 days for new chapter

  17. OH!!! Is this gonna be Lime x Hibiki or Lime nii-san x Chiya imouto????

Anyway thanks for the great chapter Reigokai nii-san 🙂

    1. the earth gods said they will help to conceal Asora from the Bug, so I doubt loli-priest’s power will help much.

      1. good point but still, since shes a Priest, and got that ability made me remember other novels, when the god/ddes use them as medium for destroy everything 🙁

  18. It just struck me as I was (once again) binge reading the whole series but the 3 demons are probably the same ones Makoto saw as “bodyguards” for Sairitz way back on the Academy Town festival, seems that long con didn’t play out as well for them, all fear the true eye magic!

  19. so its dangerous for Makoto, Mio, Tomoe, and Shiki to meet Chiyo
    their identity will be exposed
Makoto’s power and the source of it(god tsukuyomi no Mikoto) might get exposed
    Tomoe as Superior Dragon
    Shiki as Undead
and most specially Mio who is a Natural Disaster that the Hero previously encountered
looks like Hibiki is falling for Lime, I thought she will be a heroine
so I can only bet for Chiyo, If she saw Makoto’s god’s(Tsukuyomi) grace from him and she is also not affected by trashmoki’s charm
I trust Lime won’t betray Kuzunoha Company, his loyalty is already akin to a faith
I miss the rembrandth sisters and Toa when will the appear again?
    thanks for the chapter

    1. Is Toa still alive? there was a mention of adventurer from tsige in one of the castle fight where Lancer killed them and turned them into a sword right?

        1. er pretty sure in japanese the words are gender neutral.. only the translation has emphasis for it for being either male or female.

      1. I was wondering too if that was Toa since i remember her encountering Hibiki and acompany him to the country but her name was not mentioned in the battle with lancer
        iirc the adventurer was guy
i don’t remember what convinced me though

    2. Maybe but I think the brainwashing is already working on Lime. Especially that last sentence at the end telling that the relationship will deepen……..well as long as Lime doesn’t do anything stupid.

  20. ∧_∧
     ( ´・ω・) ∫ Thanks!
     //\ ̄ ̄旦\  Nepu!!

          1. Damn, damn, damn! I want to sleep under here! *peeks under the kotatsu* Nowa-chan I’m scared, please hugー *a shot from Uni’s rifle was heard*

  21. I don’t know about the “Large tree” . But “the dragon and welcoming rain” is talking about Root vs Makoto future fight 😀

    1. The tree is probably Mondo’s influence, Dragon is obviously Tomoe, and the rain might be Makoto since his best element is Water and he is a force of nature.

  22. some people think that Lime will get charmed by Hibiki. I can say that it’s shet.
Lime has Tomoe’s mind protection power. That charming power is shet.

    1. Charming power is not from Hibiki it’s from the male Hero.. at most Hibiki has natural charm or some shit not some special ability.

      1. I think the best comparison would be calling Tomoki’s power “Charm” and Hibiki’s “Charisma”.

I think someone in a past chapter said something to the effect of: Tomoki makes puppets, while Hibiki makes fanatics.

According to Makotwo, Hibiki can actually use it to force her will upon others too, but she didn’t fall into that power trap.

    2. Hibiki is natural charm but Makoto says it’s just like the other hero’s charm power……is there a defense against nature charm?…….but I guess it’s alright. I mean, Motoko wouldn’t send Lime there without something kind of guard against it right?

      1. @EUREKA

I don’t recall if it was Makoto or Tomoe who sent Lime there, but either way Tomoe is his handler, so to speak. And she at least should suspect something along those lines from Hibiki after interrupting whatever she was trying to do to Makoto.

The danger of Hibiki’s “power”, compared to Tomoki, is that Tomoki’s charm is invasive and aggressive, it tries to overwrite the mind of the target which makes it easier to notice (though for most people, by the time they do it’s already too late), whereas Hibiki’s is more passive. It doesn’t try to invade the target, it allows the target to slowly absorb it themselves. Where Tomoki’s power forces the target to like him, Hibiki’s power simply suggests that she’s nice to get along with, and the person themselves then decide that “yes, she is”.

My guess is that Tomoe, as someone who specializes in illusions and misdirection, would be able to pick up on something like that. In that case, she would have warned Lime about it if she felt he could fall under Hibiki’s power’s influence. Maybe she used some of her abilities to shield him? Or perhaps whatever training Lime underwent with Tomoe, it made him resistant to it?

      2. Its not makoto its Tomoe who send him for spying, do you really think makoto who likely worshipping blindly his senpai would do something like this and his stupid moral wont allow to do something like this.

  23. if chiya gains a new ability and seen asora then thats real prob. The author did good adding a simple thing then multiplying the problem in many directions

    1. That would suggest that Chiya has a power greater than the bug, who for all intents and purposes is still a Goddess. Because those 3 gods who visited Makoto told him they made Asora pretty much undetectable by the bug.

    1. — “…I have decided. I will be drinking a lime flavored banana bliss today.” (Eris)
      “…In a tankard.” (Eris) —
      Ahahahahaha…
      XD…

      — I am glad I got to see it…along with that incredible outfit. It is more eye candy than scary. Let’s admire it.) (Lime) —
      WE NEED THE PICTURE HERE!!!
      XD…

      — “…A large tree that raises up a forest. Also…a dragon and welcoming rain.” (Chiya)
Chiya suddenly mutters this with distant eyes as she looks at Lime. —
      Foreboding about incoming Lime training?
      @_@…

      — He still didn’t notice that this one incident would unexpectedly deepen his friendship with those girls. —
Is this a flag? A flag right?
      XD…

    1. Is it even infatuation? I think at this point, it’s only interest like with Makoto.

Then again, Makoto was apparently popular with the beauties back on Earth too, so that’s a pretty flattering comparison.

  24. Thanks reigo sama.. It’s not late or something.. We’re actually happy to see this chapter xD
I even thought you will post this chapter tomorrow since its only 2 days from the last

  25. If Makoto have Dream of Foresight Disaster, then Chiya must have Vision of Foresight Truth

Both are scary as Makoto saw “The Path of Parallel World” which Chiya saw “Law of Future Secret”

We can consider this as GOOD or BAD thing as truth will reveal or remain existence that going to change the world without GOD or Guardian will break free of Desire of Goddess(BUG) destruction.

  26. Deepen his friendship with those two, huh? It seems like while Makoto attracts a harem of monsters, Lime is a more normal harem protagonist himself.

I gotta say, I rather like his interaction with Hibiki this chapter.

    1. Maybe it’s the scale of power?

Makoto is pretty much a monster himself, so obviously he only attracts other monsters / only other monsters make viable partners. Hibiki doesn’t even come close to Tomoe, Mio or Shiki.

On the other hand, Lime is in about the same league as her. I’d say it feels like Lime is generally more powerful, but Hibiki is much stronger than him when she applies that boost of hers.

    1. “…Ah?” (Lime)

      “Chiya-chan?” (Hibiki)

“A person that gives a lot of peace of mind…” (Chiya)
For sure that person she saw was Makoto she still didnt see him in person after all that is why Sairits want she meet Makoto.

  27. Thanks for the chapter XD
This is my first commenting, but can we dicuss somethings. I found it odd that Makoto is seen as a average looking japanese male by the heroes when he is hyuman. He is supposed to be a ugly hyuman, so why does that equal being a average japanese guy?

The story has stated that homeless people of this world, would be considered a model in our world. So even if Makoto is “ugly”, shouldn’t he still be above average in our world?

Then there’s the matter about his ethnicity. Hyumans have humanity as its base, but most have been described as people who having a beautiful “caucasian” appearance. The sisters that come from the same kingdom as Makoto’s parents also have a similar appearance to that. So why does Makoto look “japanese”?

Also something that caught my attention. In the previous chapter, the fourth demon general, who is suppose to be Sari, was described as someone else. I can only see this as a scheme by the demons to get Sari close to Makoto as the demonlord’s child and not the fourth demon general.

    1. We’ve been debating Makoto’s origins since the beginning, but it was established by Tsukuyomi that he is hyuman. The only thing I can figure is that by the time Makoto was born, the blessings the goddess gave to his parents had worn off. The blessings was able to work on his elder sister, causing her to look like a hyuman, and by the time his younger sister was born, their parents had acclimated to Earth, causing her to be born as an average hyuman, but Makoto was born after the blessing wore off and before acclimation happened, causing him to be born incredibly weak and ugly by hyuman standards. Making him average by our standards.

Sari was never introduced as a demon general. You might have gotten a mistaken impression because she was at the meeting where Rona and Io gave their debriefing, and she and Rona had a discussion afterwards. She also said she had no interest in the throne, and might’ve said something about becoming a general when the time comes for the next demon lord to take the throne.

      1. Really? I need to re-read that chapter in order to clear up that misunderstanding.

Well that does clear up some things, but i still can’t understand why he looks japanese. Isn’t that a appearance that belongs to humans. Even if he’s ugly by hyuman standards, shouldn’t he appear more hyuman then human.

Since we’re on this topic, has the author mention anything about other hyumans who have a japanese appearance. Cause that would answer a good deal of question i have about Makoto’s origins.

        1. I don’t think he has, but it has been mentioned that the hyumans are from human stock, modified to suit the goddess’s tastes. Take away the blessings she hands out so they’ll all be beautiful, and add the weakness that was affecting his parents at the time, and you get a hyuman that reverted to what they used to look like. One of those ancient genetic markers or dispositions that pop up after sleeping in the DNA chain for generations, if you will.

      2. A memory strikes me. Didn’t Makoto comment that the goddess’ s world is just a continent version of Japan?

Maybe the human progenitors were all Japanese.

….is the Bug secretly a weeaboo?

      1. I just finish reading that chapter. It said he didn’t get a unique appearance, so am assuming without it a hyuman just looks like a a regular human. Kinda like removing make-up from a model and shes looks like regular woman.

  28. Thanks for the chapter. Fast as always.

Also just an idea so everyone can support you . Why don’t you make a corner on your blog for ads so we can click it and support you a lot .

I hope you consider the idea.

    1. And given the way the author seems to have bits of the story come together after huge lengths of time I wonder how that relationship will be used and turn out. I’d be disappointed if nothing does… Maybe Makoto will have to work with the hero and her team at one point.

  29. wow so I always tot mini tomoe will be cute but the novel pic omg how could anyone kill her. sadly v2 is totally ignored it seems

  30. Remember who you work for Lime. She might seem like this, but she’ll destroy you and everything you love because of the slightest chance that you are a threat to the status quo.

  31. Just re-read the chapter and a thought came to mind. Does hibiki have a thing for older gentlemen or is the pressure of her position getting to her and now she wants the presence of a dependable by her side.

    1. Could be both, but the dependable person thing is almost definite.

As a hero, she stands at the very top of Hyuman society. She has the responsibility to lead them. To be their strength. So she can’t allow herself to seem weak. That means she probably doesn’t have anyone on whom she can unload her burdens, so she just bears with it.

If Chiya was older, then I feel Hibiki would allow herself to depend on her more, but as she’s still just a child, while Hibiki can find comfort in Chiya’s presence, she still can’t truly confide in her.

Enter Lime. A naturally charismatic fellow. He can easily keep up with Hibiki when she uses her great power (by hyuman standards). Doesn’t treat her differently because of her Hero status (something she probably experiences all the time, to the point she’s sick of it). Has an air of mystery to him (just what is his position in the equally mysterious Kuzonoha company).

Most importantly, she’s projecting her fallen comrade on him. That was perhaps someone she felt she could confide in, and with her death Hibiki lost that special person.

    1. nothing, he couldnt enslave her and tried to make Makoto give her to him, but Makoto got angry and gave him a beating and now, after crying like a child, he is trying to get stronger to beat Makoto

      1. “Trying” being the operative word. 😀

Well, Tomoki’s definition of strength is different from Makoto’s to begin with. In so many ways.

  32. Will Makoto ever fight another god(except for the BUG) or
any other cosmic horror(Like Mio) hiding in between space-time?
    .
Will Hibiki capture Lime’s heart with her Charisma?
    .
Will Moon Bro ever wake up?
    .
Will ever become an MC(lol)? (lol)
    .
IS Vadus,LIECHTENSTEIN safe from Higashi(lol, applause to those who get it)?
    .
Find out soon on the next episode of……

  33. Thx for the chapter o/
I knew Lime was gonna fell for Hibiki, just didnt know how~~ (thx to spoiler san)
Great to see how their party works well but i wonder what Tomoe is gonna do when she knows about this

    1. Hibiki has super charisma, which functions very similarly to Tomki’s charm. But I would think Tomoe and Makoto have enough charisma / impact on Lime to not have him betray them

    2. So, I’ve seen this mentioned several times and it makes me wonder if I’m the only one who saw things differently.

To me, it didn’t seem like Lime was falling for Hibiki. He just seemed like the usual Lime (from what little we’ve seen of him). The way I saw it, it was more Hibiki who was in the Danger Zone.

      1. I’m of the same opinion.

My impression was that Lime was taking a “Shiki-sensei” approach to his interactions. Just there for business, but putting up a friendly appearance and willing to take the time to enjoy nabe (in this context a hero in a bikini).

      1. @NegiXNodoka
All thank you! I am not remember her name since i find her as uninportant side character which i find unlikely become the novel cover. Also, i also fast reading the whole teaching arc since i find it quite dull haha

  34. thanks for the chapter^^
people are thinking about what Chiya’s eyes could see in the residents of asora (which i know is more interesting yes), but here I am thinking the demons are screwed in the espionage front. she’s a great strategic counter-weapon against the demon/demi-human spies who would most likely start another disaster like in academy city. i doubt she can see hibiki’s charisma effect as something bad even when seen on other people(probably chains or rope or collar?) but i wonder if she can see trashmoki’s mind control that would probably make the victim appear as a puppet or something else that’s empty…or an onahole(can she even end up seeing something she doesn’t know of? would be funny if she asks hibiki about it and she’ll have a headache explaining XD). not that i’m siding with hyumans or hibiki, nor sure if rooting out these influences is ‘better’, but it’s interesting to see some skills on hibiki’s side which so far has been so passive, stupid, weak or helpless…

    1. I don’t know, I’m of the opinion that without Makoto, Hibiki would be the winner if she survived the attack on Lima.

Even the demons declared her a bigger threat than Tomoki.

      1. That was more because of her influence on others than her actual strength. They don’t really consider the heroes powerful, except for their potential. The reason Hibiki and Tomoki are considered threats is the influence they have on the hyumans morale. And even then, Hibiki is more dangerous than Tomoki because her goddess given charisma turns those around her into fanatics, as opposed to the puppets that Tomoki creates out of those around him. If Makoto hadn’t interfered, then she’d have died in that throne room.

  35. Thanks for the translation as always, Lime my fruiend don’t guet trapped by the Honeytrap that armor bikiny is a trap don’t fall in there. Poor Aqua and Eris work extra hard for the Banana Drink!!!!!!!!!!! I want to be mad at Hibiki about the prince but in a sense she is rigth he should just man up confess and crash, lets hope his pride as a prince don’t guet in the wayof his character development.

    1. That just goes to show you they love your type. 😀

Absorbed, to become part of their power and a reason they can press on!

…Wow, I did not mean for that to sound like a vore fetish.

  36. I hope Lime doesnt get killed by makoto, mio and tomoe because if he does deepen his relationahip with them it could be his end or a better advantage for the company.

    1. Hibiki’s scarier than Makoto, Mio and Tomoe because she is “justice” she decides who lives and dies, if Lime joins Hibiki Makoto will feel betrayed and probably erase his memories to protect Asora, but if Hibiki learns about Lime’s objective she will kill him in the name of justice.

      1. No if he “betray” in one way or another Makoto he will surely die (if we think of it as if they all were living being) because he’ll be hunted down by Mio and Tomoe. If he leave and Hibiki Clash with Asora, he’ll die. I don’t think it will end another way if the hyuman clash with Asora.

      2. Sadly Hibiki is about as scary as a panda in a zoo, atleast if you put her on the same stage as Tomoe and -especially- Mio. If your enemy is viewed by the masses as justice incarnate, that is scary, no doubt. Usually that is the case, but here we have one guy who could be counted as an equal to the gods themselves, an former superior dragon who got even stronger than her past self, and a former calamity-spider who’ll ask wether justice tastes good or not before she swallows you whole.

Besides Hibiki is not justice but a symbol of hope for the hyumans, which is even worse in a match-up against Makoto, since he is the hope of demi-humans who have been mistreated by the hyumans for hundreds or maybe even thousands of years. Quite frankly Hibiki’s moral “high”ground is actually situated in the basement, and the worst of the whole deal is that she is actually aware of that fact herself. Nothing is more pathetic than a hero who knows that he’s wrong and still continues with his/her farce as if nothing’s wrong. It is truely pathetic, but still demands respect for going through with it.

      3. Then a panda with a lot of political power…Maybe at the WWF’s basement ?

That’s right, she’s seen as Justice by masses, but the point is that she herself believes it.
I actually respect people who continues in a direction fully knowing that’s not the best decision. Not by stubborness, but by a sense of duty even if that might end badly.

Do not try to put her at that level. She’s just a girl who cannot face the fact that she’s not at the top this time.
This is what happens when make a Hero out of a little girl with just a bit of talent.
I think that’s what makes her dangerous, she’s driven by Fear, mortified by her choices, disguised in Hero and reassured by “Justice”.

“Nothing is more pathetic than a hero who knows that he’s wrong and still continues with his/her farce as if nothing’s wrong.” There is ! A Hero who’s not even aware of the fact that he’s looking for excuses to cover his fear.

      4. @n00by_ME
She is scarier for two reasons:
1-Makoto wants to live in peace and if he doesn’t obey Hibiki who knows what will she do…, she has the absolute trust of the people charmed by her.
2-Being a female characters guarantees her innocence, she will never end like Tomoki even if she screws up badly everything will be forgiven with a tehe-pero♩

  37. Thanks for the chapter. I wonder how long before the demons learn that chiya must be taken out or dead spies from time to time

  38. thanks for the chapter!

“along with that incredible outfit. It is more eye candy than scary. Let’s admire it.”
    PRIORITIES, he got them!

    1. From what I can tell, Lime and Hibiki have good compatibility, and usually, I’d ship them, especially if she was a good potential ally. But, Hibiki has already decided to use and destroy Kuzunoha once the war is over, so no, Lime needs to keep in mind that he’s a spy monitoring the movements of a dangerous existence to his boss and family.

      1. Maybe it’s the sadist in me, but I would actually like if Lime kept getting closer to her.

Firstly as a reason not to harm Kuzunoha. Secondly to break her heart if she ever does.

      2. When did she decide to destroy Kuzunoha company? Obviously she’s wary of them even if her kohai is running it but I don’t recall her being hostile to them.

      3. @SightlierGravy and SightlierGravy

And it’s not just mere choice/scenario that “maybe” she will take, it’s a scenario that she will “definitely” execute when the war is over.

Because the existence of Kuzunoha is such an enigma. They are full of mystery, have a lot strong+reliable person such as Lime(even she get anxious when confronting Tomoe), don’t forget that they have elder dwarf who make the sword for Hibiki(excelent craftsmen), sell the best potion with no one knowing how could they get the ingredients and the vormula, they are likely more siding with demi-human(even when Hibiki said that she didn’t mind demi-human she still think less to them than normal hyuman), they have a lot of connection to direct goverment of country(Sairitsu(am i spell the name correctly?), Lily princess, and the crossdressing princess), but the Kuzonoha(or the head exactly) didn’t have/show a desire to power/control.

Kuzunoha bring a feeling of anxiety/enigmatic to whoever who try to collect information about them, and because Hibiki is “selfing-aware” to herself for her Hero role, she unconsciously being impatient and decide the scenario(try read again the chp when Hibiki meet makoto then Tomoe)

More Hibiki point of view in the future.

  39. Lime. Asora’s 007.

Also, I’ll just throw it out there. I disagree with the numerous comments suggesting Lime was falling for Hibiki in this chapter. To me he seemed like the usual Lime. We might not have seen much of him so far, but that’s the feeling I’m getting.

      1. – “Do you expect me to talk?” (Lime)

        – “No, Mr. Lime. I was expecting life to give me lemons. Damn recession.” (???)

    1. I think the implication here was that Hibiki’s the one throwing up flags. She’s been exceedingly indifferent to guys thusfar(Makoto being a potential exception, but that may have just been her fishing for an ally). As she pointed out, her male party members are kinda off the table for her romantically, and Lime has become so incredibly dependable due to Tomoe’s training and his unique ability.
Heck, Chiya even spotted it with her new power. “A person that gives a lot of piece of mind…..”
Hibiki could use someone to relax around.

    2. I like how everyone is analysing the hell out of the chapter and you just throw the 007 pit and now that’s the only thing I can think about. Every time I read about the guy in going to see him as 007

  40. I almost missed this lol. So lime is to Asoran harem master? Pffft! What will happen when Chiya gazes into Makoto’s mind? That will, without a doubt, be amusing.

  41. Thanks for the chapter Reigokai!

I was worried for a moment that Lime would be caught by Hibiki’s charisma, like Bredda and Illumgand ended up becoming her groupies. Fortunately it seems like he’s got his head and priorities straight.
At most he might develop some good will towards her and Chiya in the normal way, but I doubt his loyalty to Kuzunoha will waver. At most if he realises she has thought of using them against her enemies, he won’t immediately report it, but will try to make her understand she’s committing suicide.
Hibiki is a bit of a contridiction though. At times she acts like a decent girl who values her comrades, other’s she acts ruthless and calculating. I guess her blood is red after all (as in “what colour is your blood?!”).
I guess she was able to manipulate Makoto and plot to use his company for her own ends, because even if he immediately became attached due to homesickness and being happy to meet an acquaintence in another world, to her he’s still just a guy she had seen at school and may even have not spoken to even once (even if she heard about him now and then). Compared to the close comrades she has made in that world and the people of the kingdom she’s dealt with every day, it can be said he’s low priority.

    1. True. Can’t fault her logic. But from the moment she learned who he is, she’s been playing an angle. Moving closer to him during their conversation was not an accident. I’m certain it was calculated to see how much she could use their senpai-kouhai relationship to her advantage. Now she’s certain she can use him and get away with it. If Makoto was planning to use her in some way similar, then I probably wouldn’t say much, that’s human relations between acquaintances. But he has no intentions of that and even feels that they knew each other enough for their school relationship to mean something. That’s why I don’t approve of her plans.

Her logic is sound. The context? I’m not so sure.

      1. Well I’m not approving of what she’s doing, just saying that there is logic in it.
Plus she isn’t just doing this because it convenient for her, but because her intuition tells her that the Kuzunoha company is very dangerous and rather than have it out there where it could turn on her country and cause a unknown but unacceptable level of damage, she thinks to neutralise it by letting the dangerous element and the enemy wipe each other out. Even the demons were disturbed by the fact that the company isn’t choosing any side and might end up becoming their enemy simply because they unknowingly provoked them. But they at least have some idea of how powerful the company really is, and are leaning towards the direction of using any means to avoid antagonising them and mitigating any damage that does occur, rather than risking provoking them. Hibiki, unfortunately knows they are more powerful than her, but doesn’t know just how big the difference is. So she’s making a mistake.
Also as far as I know he only knew her as the famous senpai and student council president, and was surprised she instantly recognised him and remembered his name. So their relationship is pretty much schoolmates who hardly know each other. He was just so happy to meet someone he knew from back home that he lowered his guard and slipped right into being a good kouhai, while she has embraced the world she’s come to and longed for a more interesting life, so she didn’t feel the same way. She was simply surprised to see someone who went to her school in that world and discovering he was a person of influence in the dangerous company she planned to investigate, saw him as a connection that was too valuable not to take advantage of. So she was all business, looking to get as much info as possible. She wouldn’t find such a good source on that company anywhere else.
So yeah, her reasons are all sound. Does it change the fact she’s abusing his trust? Of course not. She probably going to regret it when she realises that having him as a friend and ally would have been the best outcome she could hope for. Which won’t be very likely once he finally understands her real motives.

        1. Agree with everything you said. In most other circumstances, her play would be the right move. But in this circumstance, if she was the MC, without the insight into Makoto’s thoughts, I think I would still think that the course she’s taking with Kuzunoha would be foolish. I say this because some people do think that if someone else was the MC, then we’d be supporting them and not the current MC.

The only reason she considers Makoto dangerous is that he dislikes the goddess. That much power and potential in the hands of someone who dislikes the goddess is something she doesn’t like, but he’s already told her that he doesn’t want any part of the war or that kind of politics. In that case, the right thing to do would be to foster a true friendship with him, and make sure she doesn’t provoke the dragon peacefully sleeping in his cave, just like the demons have decided. I said in previous chapters that she has yet to understand that some things can’t be overcome, either in numbers or skill, like Tomoki when he decided he can find a way to overcome Makoto’s strength. The demons understand this, Sophia was forced to understand this. When Makoto realizes that Hibiki has been playing him, he will make her understand as well. Whether or not he kills her will likely depend on the results of her duplicity, but either way, she’ll be shown what it means to wield absolute power.

          1. The thing with Hibiki is that even though she has an understanding of the power that she, Tomoki and the Demons Generals hold, she can’t conceive something or someone that surpress them other that the Goddes for the rest is just a place she has to work hard to guet there, thats why she believe that she can handle Kuzunoha company and Raidou and so far believe it better to pit him against Tomoki so both will self destroy or end up to waek to properly figth her. Now the Demons realize that the distance between them and the company is to whide and even joining other powers (wich they can’t) is not enough to shorten it giving the cost they will have to incure. Thats the fundamental deviation in both perspective.

      2. “The only reason she considers Makoto dangerous is that he dislikes the goddess.”

Not sure where you are getting this from. Before she spoke to Makoto she already considered the company dangerous because she had guessed a connection between Kuzunoha and The Devil/Larva from the last words of the adventurer who died during the battle with Lancer. That’s why she was planning to investigate the company in Rotsgard. Which was why when she realised that Raidou was Makoto, she was eager to use him to get some answers about them. And I don’t think he told her how he felt about the Goddess, he just told her how he ended up in that world, and she deduced that he somehow offended the goddess from her dropping him in the centre of the Wasteland. Worrying about him being disliked by the goddess only added to her concerns about the company, it was hardly the only reason.
In her mind, Kuzunoha is too strong and too dangerous and isn’t on their side, and their motivations aren’t understood. Therefore for all she knows they could turn on Limia at any time. Even if they stay neutral during the war against the demons, afterwards she also has ambitions to unite the world, and she’s worried about what would happen if they oppose her in that.
Right now she is probably thinking of them on the same level of power as the demon race, so setting them against each other is a risky move, but one which stands to bear the most profit since it fighting either of them separately would be very costly for them. With her currently limited knowledge, it isn’t as stupid as move as you are saying.
It seems stupid to us since we know how powerful Makoto and his people are, and know how good their intelligence gathering is, so it’ll be hard for her to fool anyone but Makoto himself and with the others around that won’t last long. But she’s doing the best she can with what she’s got. Doomed as it may be.

      3. Hibiki’s words sound too much like a modern politician to be trusted, my 2 cents are on megalomania/Messiah complex and the real reason she wants Kuzunoha out is because she can’t control them. Makoto will probably refuse to help her and she will take it really hard, because of the enormous difference in power she won’t be able to attack them and will consider some extreme methods.(Let’s see how many guesses are correct)

  42. Okay, so after rereading the chapter in a much less hazy condition, two more things come to mind for me.

Firstly…this incident was caused because Chiya suddenly became capable of seeing through Demon disguises. They had to reinforce her power all around in order to give her an ability that Makoto just passively had. XD

Secondly, now I want to see what would happen if Kuzunoha decides to pawn off Waka White’s true identity to Lime. Whatever the after effect, it’s certainly going to be an amusing conversation.

  43. Crazy how Lime has gradually gained a fair amount of importance in the story, from back when he was petty mini-antagonist in the past, and then he leveled up to forgettable side character, to now being a main side character. With all this foreshadowing, who knows, he might be the bridge to connect Hibiki’s faction and Makoto’s faction in the future.

    1. And we still dont know his wish. It isnt told even in his POV so most likely is going to be important. I think he want to save someone after all he told before that he won time after joining Kuzunoha company.

  44. Oy, oy, I’m really beginning to hate that little…Tch ! I don’t want to call her a Hero, I’ll need to think of a more befitting name…Bitchiki is great though !
Even that Trashero, might be better.

Oy, Pseudo-Spy Lime ! Don’t let yourself charmed by her “Charisma”, or you’ll be punished. Ask that skeleton, to be flayed isn’t pleasure time…Wait, for an actual skeleton, that might be ! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH !
The return of the sexy cosplay…I don’t like her, but I’ll still enjoy my eyes ! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH !

Forget the demon’s corpses, the most injured this chapter is surely Bredda !

    Thanks for your work !

  45. so we are going to the point to really hate Hibiki, im glad about that, im not the only one who despise her, even thrashmoki have a better stance made by Lily…

  46. For those who want side stories,, Light Novel Bastion said that he will translate it.
although we have to donate up to 30$.

    1. Just caught up now.
Wait.. isn’t Sofia dead? DID SOMEONE REVIVED HER?
I thought root killed her. Btw after the previous battle i thought that
the power scaling is just… doesn’t make any sense. Sofia’s is as strong as 3-4 superior dragon ,mio is (prob) 3x stronger than hibiki and definitely stronger than tomoe, makoto is at most 1.5x stronger than hibiki from the start (sakai and physical enhancement excluded, no exact multiplier) so…. how is hibiki and party strugling againts mio and io?
      How strong is makoto now?
Even if sofia powered up, how strong is she, is it even a equal fight?

      1. Omg i cut some part out. Dang it u old samsung!
(Power scaling part and added a little bit)
So mio is at least 3 times stronger than hibiki when she fought her and 1.15 times stronger than tomoe, a superior dragon. (Mio-Tomoe was based on lv) So hibiki’s strengh was around 38 percent of tomoe, how the heck did makoto beat mio and tomoe!? If makoto had some kind of buff because it’s his homeland or some thing even by twice then hibiki won’t strugle againts mio , lancer or io. I mean the heroes, superior dragons, and makoto, their strength just doesnt even connect some 1 tell me why…….. pls
I hope it isn’t “because he is MC”.

        1. Well no…the very idea since the start is that Makoto is inexplicably stronger than everyone else. He has that weird mana-doubling thing going on, an incredible affinity in some places while a complete lack of affinity in others, he’s just sort of an unanswered riddle this whole time.

I should say though, that you really shouldn’t strictly apply power scaling to that level. Mio is far more than three times stronger than Hibiki and co, but while her level is slightly higher, that doesn’t really mean she can be considered stronger than Tomoe due to the nature of their backgrounds and skills(Mio is higher level because she’s been killing/eating things forever and levels themselves are just inconsequential stats at that level).

          1. Besides Makoto also has his crazy physical spec aside from his magic, the fact that he can actually puch a superior Dragon bare handed is a statement of his strengh, also remember that the only slave contracted that he actually beated to submission was shiki, Shen surrendered once she saw his memories, and Mio regained her senses once she tasted his magic and blood and feel for him. In those figth he barely survived the second and was pushed to the ropes in the first. Of course he is way stronger now that he was there and he actually has an idea of what he is doing now, those two cases where his first figths in that world so he was trhowing things at random.

      2. Sophia have Superior dragon blood and her blood thickens then became closer to being a dragon herself after she absorbed the other superior dragon that’s why she became an egg after root killed her

      3. A little thing, i actually believe that the Hibiki now I prollyas strong as one superior dragon, but not as strong as shen, you gotta remember she was one of the strongest superior dragons, and even tomoe afirmed that after the contract, thx to the flow of mana ( I believe) that became way stronger

  47. You’ve never heard how pandas fight, have you? Trust me, they aren’t called bears simply because they have the appearance of them.😏 Although I will admit that pandas don’t usually get violent in captivity, probably because nobody’s stupid enough to get too close when they’re taking care of the cub.

  48. Great work! But someone should make an informal post/list of the relevant characters that show up from time to time like the elf? girls Akua&Eris, those fallen princesses from Kalleon, Hibiki and Tomoki etc. Just from this its plain to see that I dont remember some of the character names/descriptions since this series has been going on for a long time :/

  49. She’s really fishing for flags for a while now when it comes to Kuzunoha . From using her hero status, the senpai-kouhai relationship, setting up flags to the employees and maybe using seduction in the future(?). Really shows her manipulative side, I’m really hating the Heroes side now.

  50. lime you are at the doors of forming your own harem.
you only need tomoe-aneki and Makoto-sama seal of approval

  51. “…A large tree that raises up a forest. Also…a dragon and welcoming rain.” (Chiya)

I think the dragon might refer to Tomoe. The large tree either is Lime supporting/strenghtening others (that is his specialty) or it might be about Mondo “raising” a forest.
any guess about the “welcoming rain”?

    Thanks for the chapters 🙂

    1. Water magic is Makoto’s specialty. I’m not sure why it would be “welcoming,” but when Makoto made that lake, it was portrayed as an intense waterfall of rain (except with 1,000,000,000% more power than normal rainfall).

  52. “It would be good if that’s the case though. You are vigorous at night after all. I hope you won’t get stabbed in time.”
Did Lime and Hibiki had sex?

    1. [SPOILER ALERT]
