This thing that is inside of me is probably a habit of mine.
It isn’t something special or anything like that.
I have experienced fights of life and death in practically a daily basis, so I probably just adapted to it.
It is not that there’s another person inside of me.
I am slightly able to accept this.
No matter what Sofia says, just like how my magic power body doesn’t let attacks reach me, I am able to take everything by surface and ward it off.

There was no answer from Sofia.
In exchange, a nauseating richly colored area was spread on the floor and was expanding with her as the center.

Steadily turning its color to pink, and then, turning into a deeper red.
It is an arrow made from the same material as my ring Draupnir.
This is what I thought when I obtained this magic power body.
If I can’t construct a spell by using a massive amount of magic power at once, I just have to accumulate it.
That it is fine to just use what’s accumulated.
Even if there’s a limit to how much can be accumulated, the power of this arrow that has turned completely red is a lot stronger than any magic I can use.

As if being manipulated by her will, the other swords aside from the ones in both her hands, began to attack me as well.

If I have to kill you over a thousand times before this ends, I just need to do this all at once.
These swords and Sofia as well; I will vanish everything in this one attack.

I eliminate Sofia from my field of vision.
I close my eyes and turn silent.
Even if you get impatient now, it is already too late.

Makoto is like the exact definition of Archer XD . red robe, bow user , arrow tip clad in red light , both bow and arrow summoned out of nothingness, had a knowledge on swordplay yet not a swordsman, magician and specially the huge explosion after firing the arrow.
PS. In a sense both of them created their own world as Unlimited Blade Works is depicted on the world inside the mind of archer in which his legacy is depicted.

As for the chapter itself, I notice that the only two sentient people Makoto has killed are both female. I’m not sure what to take from this, other than the fact that gender won’t make him stop if the person is truly terrible. Both the first girl and Sofia knew they were taking lives for their own selfish reasons, and continued on that path, so they don’t really have any reason to be pitied. Lancer would have been on his list too (and personally, his blatant disregard for life in order to get stronger annoyed me, but Sofia was the same), but it’s funny the author arranged it this way.
Edit: Purposely killed. Those killed while “pestering” Sofia don’t count, since he wasn’t aware of it.
Well this “other world” have a more female than male living being…Bug herself made so like this because she prefer women to men ( read Tsukuyomi pow for reference)….
So the possibility of killing women instead of men are higher and it seems that women approach Mokoto more than men (or at least is something I noticed so… dunno if it’s right?).

So the duo died, poor them :3 lucky for shiki makoto was still testing his power on Sofia ‘s skills so he didn’t finish her off fast or he would lose to Sofia sword mode. So 1 arrow charged to the max is stronger than pseudo nuke of Tomoki that used all his mp(I’m assuming this because he became unconscious after using it) poor him getting a cheat code buff for attack power and still lose to makoto
But tomoki’s charm ability is scary…
He is planning to lvl that ability until he can charm tomoe.
That mindset allows him to at least somewhat charm Sofia…
Thats freaking scary.
Whatever he plan to do in the future, his charm eye bound to cause some annoying incidents for makoto…
All Tomoki’s cheats, which he has more than he should, pale in comparison to Makoto’s baseline abilities. He got a ton of special powers from the Goddess, charm eyes, King of the Night (totally a perv’s choice), boots of sleipnir (or something), and even a pocket dimension for storing his gear. All stuff that Makoto got for just being himself, and that’s before you add in his body mods and that awakening special which were also one upped by Makoto….(the nuke not the magical steroids)
You know what, Sofia becoming a sword for Lancer mid-fight totally did not occur to me. Wow, that could’ve been bad.
This really was Shiki’s lucky night.

Lancer’s end was so abrupt I can’t even tell if he realized it before he died. But Shiki wasn’t OP enough compared to him to have the leeway for that sort of climax.

HURRAH! Sofia is finally dead. I’m glad she had no part in Makoto’s harem. As the commenters surmised, he was using her as a testing dummy for his combat ability.
I did like how Shiki and Lancer’s fight was smoothly lead into her fight though.
And to her credit, she broke through Makoto’s stages of proficiency nicely, finishing Makoto as a physical warrior upon her entrance, showing off his threat as a magician, and even managing to make him fight her as an archer. All while triggering a kickass “I am not left-handed” speech from our normally passive MC.
Is anyone else concerned about Makoto’s “soldier/battle switch”? I’m glad he finally addressed it(does anyone know what he’s talking about with “life and death fights practically every day”?), but another hint was made towards the idea that something else exists inside his body or mind.
Sure, Makoto said he didn’t think there was another person inside him while having the detection power to notice Tomoki and Root’s magic both in Sofia, it seems more like he’s setting a flag to me, especially since he’s known for not noticing unusual features in himself.
As a final note, Makoto’s little moment with Shiki at the end was nice.
First he technically didn’t pull out his archer to specifically kill her. Instead it was use as a way to aoe, to not spend tons of time to kill her.
Second the switch sort of, to me, refers to a emotion switch or personality switch. It seems like he is saying he can switch between a caring mode and a cold I don’t care mode. It seems true especially when he toss lo like I don’t give a f. Though, I’m basing that analysis on how certain people can do that.
It’s even easier to notice in the manga. You can see by his facial expression in his fight with the Calamaity Spider the exact moment the switch was flipped. It also showed up in the part where Makoto was contemplating whether to kill Toa’s sister’s blackmailers.

Alright so the fight with Sofia is concluded. So she really didn’t give a damn about lancer and met a crushing utter defeat against Makoto.
Why did she remove his radiation poisoning if she’d only have something to lose from it? And who was she to lecture makoto on when to look down on someone?
I’m guessing she’s alive and well. Well, maybe she’s got a few broken bones. I’m assuming she was dying helplessly so she threw Makoto out of her hole and maybe there’s a couple swords left she can survive on. Proof: I don’t know what connection Sofia had with Root, or for what reason she showed so much attachment towards him. an unfinished arc. Also she gets attracted to whoever beats her. The author wouldn’t have had her use that line unless he expected it would happen.
I’m guessing she’ll without doubt demand a place in his harem soon, now that she knows his name and all.
They were using each other, so maybe she didn’t want to let him die weakened by radiation, before getting as much use out of him as possible? Perhaps their bet only counts if they die during combat, or maybe the radiation damage would have cost her a few more of those swords, before he died, leaving her a weaker inheritance? Or the mostly stupid reason, he was her ride, she didn’t want to have to run all the way to the battle with Makoto, so she healed him for his dragon form….

Truly that was the stupidest move made by Sofia. She already knew that Makoto can make a f*cking lake as it is and still decides to trap herself with him. What made her think that he won’t pull that same stunt again only stronger? *facepalm*

And there goes Sofia after Lancer. It is kinda underwhelming, Makoto had powered up so much since then, I doubt he is even the same person anymore. Maturity and Confidence. Two of the most defining factors of growth.
Now I’ll patiently wait for news on how Kaleneon was reborn.
Not necessarily stronger, but he has the training and experience to put more of his strength into play. Like he said, he doesn’t have a way to use a large portion of his magic at once, so he decided to accumulate it for more effect.
Now that he’s made sure he absolutely does not get hurt, I wonder if Makoto is going to work on a goddess-wounding scale attack, or if he’s just going to leave it to his charge shots.
I always imagined Makoto’s ultimate attack to be something like: creating a separate pocket space like Lancer’s here, like he did that one time for his first hyuman kill, stuffing that space full of his magic power along with god knows what other properties from his followers, and attaching that pocket space to an arrow like an explosive.
the sad part is that, even though he had such a long sight of things, he didnt found the bug on their conversation.
So do we never learn what Sofia’s and Lancer’s objective was? Why they joined the demon side, what they were trying to achieve from taking on Root?
If every sword acted as an extra ‘life’ for Sofia, could she have stored a sword outside that realm as insurance?
Seems there’s a lot of foreshadowing that the Bug did more to his brain than granting mere Common Language. This would naturally bring her back as a goal to be punched after they agreed she would never call upon him after this.
simply wait for some next chapters, i have a gist that it would be explained there.
Rather than the Bug doing something else, it’s more like Makoto finally recognizing a trait of his that’s shown several times in the series already. For reference, go read the manga starting from his fight with Mio.

One of my favorite villain deaths are actually the opposite of vig and grand.
Like, this one bastard has been a constant thorn in the MC team’s side and even been the source of a lot of suffering. Invincible due to some stupid cheat like Tomoki’s.
Eventually the MC finds a way around this cheat and in an instant, decapitated the recurring villain, who can barely mumble a “what” before dying.
A death not in an explosion of brutality or badass speeches, but a whimpered whisper that isn’t given another word from the MC.

She might ascertain that stuff before dying as who is in the right mind would take out a bow in a Senbonzakura slaughterspace against swordsman.

In a world of sword and magic, archers is considered obselete or at least not used in battles.
The author discussed this at length before. Physical attacks have mana in them and can be boosted, which makes them magical. That is how a high-level adventurer can hurt a dragon with a mere steel sword. Ranged attacks like archery use mana less efficiently and is less effective, but it works on the same priciple. Finally, mechanical weapons like guns are even less powerful, as they hold little to no mana and so are only useful against weak creatures like Hyumans.
I hope the one that will be responsible while Reigokai-sama is away is as awesome as Reigokai-sama.

He said that the dwarfs insisted that he name his weapon. Stella is on the edge of the land the demons hold mio and co attracted the place where the portal will give Asora all 4 season.
It’s Kaleneon that will be where the portal will be placed, which was also the hometown of Makoto’s parents. Stella Fort is on the border between human and demon territories. Due to Stella Fort being positioned between two cliffs (if I remember correctly) it acts as a choke point. Kaleneon had fallen really early in the demon invasion and is actually within demon territory and not on the border.
This is what another poster called an “Asspull powerup”. This could have been established or even foreshadowed in any of Makoto’s many trips to Asora during the Academy Arc. But no, he literally pulls it out of nowhere in the middle of a fight and uses it to win decisively. Just… wow. Makoto is using a cheat vs. Sofia and the author is using a cheat against us, the readers.
Remember Tomoe telling Root that if Root and Makoto fights, Root won’t be able to make a scratch against Makoto.
Remember Makoto saying that he was being trained in combat by Tomoe and co?
Remember the scene where Eldwa called him because his “weapon” is already ready? (very vague in my memory but I remember Eldwas calling him. or probably it’s in Slime Tensei. but I’m pretty sure the Bow of Makoto being done was mentioned in previous chapters.)
I don’t see any “asspull powerup” that you are mentioning.

Makoto is on a collision course with Tomoki. Tomoki’s growing power is likely to cause him to be an even bigger bitch, one that Makoto is unlikely to tolerate. In the meantime, there’s that bit about meeting the Daemon King.

If he changed from a man to a woman right after doing the deed, could residual…information be used to impregnate her still?
Furthermore, if male Root impregnated a woman, then changed into a woman, would the baby lose its Y genes? If not, would the baby carry genes only male Root has, or does the X to Y change retain entirely the same information?
Is there any way for Root to be simultaneously both or neither gender?
And finally, if Root can do the same thing as Tomoe, can Komoe(Root version) do the same thing as the main body and what implications would that have? In fact, this ability itself spawns a whole slew of questions, in conjunction with gender-swap or not…
