Chapter 134: The enemy of my enemy is?

“That last one looked pretty fun-desu wa ne” (Mio)

“Umu, maybe I should also try it once. It’s an interesting idea-ja” (Tomoe)

“… A Shining Wizard and a midair combo. Don’t tell me Yuno is the same type as Eris” (Makoto)

The team battle finals concluded.

He may have shown surprising defensive power and toughness, but it didn’t turn into as much of a close game as I thought, and Ilumgand sunk.

In the middle of it, there was something that caught my attention, but that was also finished when I saw the midair combo.

As the Hopelace’s second son, he talked about authority, showed a fight that was completely different from his general notion, and without being able to show off much in the match, it finished.

His relatives must have come to see him as well. How pitiful.

The last spear totally hit his face too.

Even if it’s wooden, it was still impressive that the spear broke.

Was the throw of Yuno that good, or was it the face of Ilumgand that was hard?

Whichever it is, I think his consciousness was taken away with that attack.

“The ideas of Waka’s students are interesting. They are weak, but I could feel that they are used to scheming” (Tomoe)

“Right. The finals were pretty fun. The body techniques of that girl were great” (Mio)

Tomoe and Mio seem to have enjoyed it.

That they didn’t show any will to evaluate the fight in the end is, well, it can’t be helped.

They are not hyumans to begin with, and in their perspective, they honestly feel that they are no more than chicks.

But I feel a bit relieved.

If they are able to think that well by themselves and look for their own style with a clear objective in mind, no matter when my class finishes, they would still be fine.

Well then, I will go to the waiting room as well and congratulate them.

And while it, check Hopelace’s state… No, I should not do that one.

It would be troublesome if I get into a problem again.

I stand up and was about to move, but then, I noticed an abnormality.

Jin and the others prepared their weapons. Yuno lost her spear so she made a stance with her fists.

Those movements were already at the level of martial arts.

I didn’t teach her that at all, or more like, I can’t teach her that, so she probably learned hand-to-hand combat from another teacher.

But the referee already declared the end of the match.

There should be no need for them to prepare their weapons.

And in the direction they are facing, there’s the fallen Ilumgand.

“What?”

“Waka, there’s a strange magic power coming out from that brat. He is releasing an incredibly wicked aura that is coiled around emotions” (Tomoe)

Tomoe tells me.

I am not using the [Sakai] for search and examination.

I am using it to suppress my power after all.

Also, my perception ability without using Sakai is not impressive at all.

“Really, but it is strange-desu wa. It looks like it is not only the current emotions, old emotions are joined together as well. It feels awful-desu” (Mio)

Mio is looking at Ilumgand as if looking at something weird.

The released magic power was probably amplifying. It changed into the special color that appears when powerful magic power is unleashed or used.

At that point, even I can clearly tell.

What I am saying is that his magic power had changed to the color suitable for water magic, blue.

I am not saying it defines the weakness and fortes of an individual, but it does have a big effect in the path you take.

His gentle blue that’s close to light blue is normally seen in people specialized in healing and support.

By the way, in my case, it is a darkish deep blue. Its specialty is… Tte, this is not the time for that.

“It doesn’t seem… like he is doing this out of his will. Should we stop it?” (Makoto)

“Aren’t the people managing the tournament the ones who should do something? It does feel strange though” (Tomoe)

In the middle of Tomoe’s words, Ilumgand stands up.

Jin and the others take proper battle formation. But Amelia who is outside the stage shouts something.

After that, the three dissolve their stance and go down the stage. As if following Amelia, they all simultaneously left through the exit.

Ah.

They went to take the weapons in the waiting room huh.

That means…

“Waka-sama, it seems it has turned into a slightly bad situation. Should I say, it has eaten a lot?” (Shiki)

Just as I thought, Shiki speaks.

“Jin and the others went to retrieve their weapons right?” (Makoto)

“Yes. I told them that it was a reward from Waka-sama for winning the championship. Just in case, I thought they would be able to hold it back temporarily with those so I instructed them to return” (Shiki)

“That… noble, just what is going on with him?” (Makoto)

“He is in an incredibly dangerous state. No, it can already be considered too late. He has taken a dosage of at least several months to make his body get used to this abnormality, and that time has come” (Shiki)

“The time… has come?” (Makoto)

So it is really not his will.

But it is surprising that it was able to escape all the diagnosis of the academy.

Doping for several months?

“Yeah. That’s not hyuman anymore. It is already beginning to change into a variation” (Shiki)

“… What’s a variation?” (Makoto)

“Just as the word implies. It’s when a hyuman changes into something that’s not hyuman anymore. I am also a type of variation. I turned into it by my own will, so my circumstances are different from his though. There was a period of time when I was interested in the borders of hyumans and non-hyumans, and experimented with it. I presume there’s no mistake” (Shiki)

“Just for what or who did he do this for? Hopelace is a big noble right? Is there anyone who would choose to make them their enemy? From what I hear, it seems to be quite planned out, and it feels ominous” (Makoto)

“… Waka-sama, are you really saying that? This kind of advanced magic, use of drugs, and the nature of the plan. Hyumans are the target. Seeing the situation, there’s only one power that would execute this kind of plan” (Shiki)

“Eh? But the demon race is different right? Rona-san pulled back her troops and she said that she would cooperate for the sake of Jin and Amelia” (Makoto)

That’s right.

I requested Rona-san to hurriedly withdraw the demons in Rotsgard. There’s no way she would do something like this.

“But, did that woman say anything about not doing anything in Rotsgard?” (Shiki)

“No. She just listened to my request, and then I promised her I would meet the demon lord later, that’s all” (Makoto)

“Then, even if this is the deed of that woman, she hasn’t broken her promise with Waka-sama. At the very least, that’s what Rona would say” (Shiki)

Wouldn’t that just be a play of words? Sophism?

I didn’t want the demon race to cause any problems in the school festival.

Because the matter with Hopelace suddenly came up, I asked Rona to temporarily withdraw the demons since I have scarce personnel.

She accepted that.

Then, that would mean she doesn’t intent to cause anything here right?

Didn’t it mean she accepted that?

“Isn’t that just sophism?” (Makoto)

“It was only a verbal promise after all. Even if she acts in a good willed manner, Waka-sama is still hyuman. I don’t think Rona would reveal everything to you. Also, that woman saw a part of Waka-sama’s power and has caught a hold of my existence. In that case, no matter what strife they cause, we would be able to get through it, that’s why she didn’t say it beforehand. Or maybe, if she told you and you were to do something to counter it, it might bring big disadvantages for her” (Shiki)

The demon race…

I thought at least the demon race would be…!

In terms of forming a relationship or negotiating, I thought they would not be a bad option, and yet…

In the end, maybe the thought of expecting a genuine ally was wrong.

Advantages and disadvantages, phrasing, diplomacy.

It is truly filled with troublesome things.

“From what I hear, the demon race is also not the type that one can deal with ordinary methods” (Makoto)

“Every single one deceiving Waka-sama… They only think about themselves! How unsightly. I can’t forgive them-desu wa!!” (Mio)

In truth, I didn’t feel confident working along with hyumans, so I wanted to try talking with the demon race and see. But, are you trying to tell me that that thinking was naïve?

Or are you telling me to swallow something of this level and negotiate with the demon race?

“…”

The regret that had no place to smash into and the mortification that couldn’t turn into words, were turned into breath and exhaled.

Damn it.

Damn it, damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!!!!

I know!

I have already noticed!

This place is bigger than I thought.

Me and the Kuzunoha Company have gathered quite a lot of attention and have begun receiving interference.

This place doesn’t belong to any country, so I thought it wouldn’t gather that much attention, but I have understood that it was completely the opposite.

Not only the four major powers, even the demon race has locked their eyes on us.

Getting played around by the hyumans, Merchant Guild, demon race; not only can’t I freely do business, I am beginning to lose my understanding of how to act.

I stayed unaware of the wideness of the stage I am standing in for way too long.

Can I do it? At this late of a time?

Using Kaleneon, I would hide from all troublesome things in a place I can’t be found.

Even so, as long as I have talked to the Ansland sisters, there’s no way I can just not do it!

“R-Raidou-sensei, this is terrible! There are several monsters rampaging in town!!”

“…”

“At the surroundings of Gotetsu, at the surrounding of Kuzunoha Company as well; everywhere has fallen into a terrible chaos! For now it doesn’t seem like there is that much damage, but…”

The voice of Eva and Ruria.

When I turned, I see that the two of them were there, out of breath.

Truly good timing.

For them to come talk to me when I thought about them.

There’s also monsters in the town huh.

Because of my experience in this kind of things, my head was able to stay calm.

Tomoe told me that getting ahead of myself is not good, but the summer vacation was valuable for me.

I see.

Ilumgand’s variation. Things similar to that are probably happening in several places.

Rona-san… Rona.

Damn it.

You… deceived me right?

‘I didn’t lie’ or ‘You didn’t ask me’, I don’t care about any of those.

If as a result, I have seen it in that way…

You won’t have any problems if I act dishonestly as well right?

It is okay to think that you guys had nothing to do with this and cope with it while having that thought in mind, right?

I do think it was a one-sided trust.

Even so, I can tell that the feeling of being deceived and my opposition to her are welling up.

“If we don’t run away fast or deal with it, this place will also be dangerous sensei!”

[Eva-san, Ruria, calm down]

“But!”

“It feels incredibly dangerous!”

[Yeah. Please tell me everything you know. Also, it may be a bit fast, but I want the answer as well. I want to hear the answer from the question a few days ago]

“??!!”

I could tell that both sisters gulped their breath.

It is weird that, seeing the restless state of these girls, I am steadily growing calmer.

The surrounding audience that saw the abnormal state of Ilumgand, and some that maybe heard the information from outside, suddenly fall into a state of panic, and the noisiness also increased at a fast rate.

The only ones calm around were us.

… It thoroughly makes me hate my own naivety.

I have not been through any bad things with the demon race, so they are good guys. Truly a childish thought.

I am an idiot who doesn’t even know the ‘N’ in negotiation.

The enemy of my enemy is my ally.

Even when I was in Japan, I thought: ‘like hell that’s the case’, and yet, in reality I thought exactly like that.

I am an idiot, truly an idiot.

Even I think I am hopeless.

— But…

Even if it is an idiot, it doesn’t mean whatever they do will be forgiven.

No matter how stupid that person is.

No matter where I go, I won’t change my thinking that: ‘Instead of the one being deceived, the one doing the deceiving is the wrong one’.

No matter what.

If this were a genuine negotiation and business discussion, me who was deceived would be the losing one.

But that’s wrong.

This is a fighting scene where strength dictates the direction.

In that case, there are plenty of things I, we, are able to do.

First, I will hear Eva and Ruria’s feelings.

And then, decide what I should do.

Without showing my disarrayed inside, I wait for the answer of the two with the usual face of Raidou.

    1. ahh… now do you see? do you see?, THIS!!! THIS is a cliffhanger… An outbreak of monsters has appeared in the city, Our MC’s feelings in turmoil, and waiting for the answer to a question (as well as probably learning about what the question was) that most were killing themselves over.

This is the pre-chapter to the following series of chapters that is the climax of this arc…. uhg… kill me now…

P.S. Thank you for the Chapter!
      P.P.S. <3

      1. kinda feels like he’s about to drop the hammer though doesn’t it
the only question is, does the monster mutation beat down happen first, or does the cold anger thought transmission

      2. Criqed
I dont thinks makoto will say anything to rona…. He will destroy that monsters, and maybe Tell rona what happened afterwards withouth blame her… Cause he knows now nobody in that situation is going to remáin true…. I mean they are in war… Both hyumans and demons are in war, demons were confined in the corner of the world thinks to the BUG, so is normal in their POV do wathever They can to win, cause if not They will be erased,
Sad is rona scheme comes in the right time to makoto, when he was mocked by hyumans and he was thinking in demons are better, ofc is his own naive thought…. In a war nobody is good or bad,
        Well time to rampage….
This to in the way to makoto rising as 3 rd power, being neutral, and punishing them for good.

  1. ………..γ ̄ヽ………Thanks!…………

    1. cant you come up with some new material? or at least a new message? theres only so many times someone can look at a Flying fish and a gummi bear playing a DS… (none of which makes sense really….)

      1. So that’s what other people see. I always saw a fan blowing on the cat playing ds. It is summer after all.
Ps thanks nepu! You make comments worth reading.

      2. I think it’s a cat drinking green tea while enjoying a fan’s breeze in Summer.

Also yay chapter! Thank you very much for the hard work 😀

  2. Hahahaha! Well several people certainly called this.

What is Makoto going to do I wonder? I wouldn’t mind if he tries to establish a true neutral country in demon territory, or if he decides to stay since the result is going to be the same anyway.
Rather, what I really care about is whether or not he’s able to stay in touch with his students and whether or not he’ll help people out here.

    1. I think he should capture Rona, let Shiki squeeze her for information. then TAKE that city they wanted by force. Put the main mist gate there. and turn that city into the Capital of what will be Makoto’s new Empire!!!

You know what is scary. He could use his power to create a huge ass lake or canyon around that city so that there is no way to it except for flying, swimming or climbing(depending on what if any bodies of water are near by) making it a logistical impossibility to be attacked.

      1. How this will happen and more importantly makoto finally know his own Naivety the Sign of his growth and not just let Shiki capture that bi**** but let Mio going rampage in demon army since they the main culprit for makoto trouble now even that hopelace guy actually not that bad if not for that drug

      2. Unfortunately he still doesn’t know the extent that his draupnir caused because Tomoe never told him he blasted a lake. Would be interesting to hear his thoughts on his rings being tiny nukes, though.

Wait…water nukes? This really is a fantasy world!

      3. it really doesn’t even have to be Makoto that makes the hole. In theory Tomoe could use a gate to “vacuum” the dirt and move it anywhere else.

        [Breaking News]
City of (I don’t remember the name) now in the possession of “The Devil”, And an unknown oddity has occured in the area around that city in which the land has sunken into the ground creating a chasm that is surrounding the city making it impossible to approach.

Additionally a strange new mountain has mysteriously appeared on what was once the former Merchant Guild leader’s mansion!

The former merchant guild leader in question could not be reached for comment since his mysterious capture and imprisonment. Details about why he was detained are still unknown; but rumor has it that it has something to do with the recent disappearance of a former academy teacher who has had recently gained much popularity due to the exceptional performance from his students in the recent academy tournament. The teacher in question also had opened a store in the city that was very popular selling very effective medicines, rare delicacies, and provided various services all of which were reasonably priced. This establishment has since been closed and no information can be found on where to obtain those products. more news on this to come soon…

      4. …..I stand by my statement, even if it’s in a different way. That country is smack in the middle of demon territory, and finding out about it at all would take good spywork.

        >.>

      5. Rampaging is never an option when in war.. The more you fight the more information will leak out and the more chances the enemy will close on you. Only fight the necessary battles, deceive the enemy and surround the king (the king depends on what type of battle you are facing, it can be a general, the people, your objective etc.) asap.

      6. The point was… Tomoe moves all the land around the city onto the merchant guild leaders house -_-, Thus creating a perfect defense for the city and getting revenge at the same itme

    2. He probably is planing reclaim Kaleneon with the excuse he is helping his legitimate Rulers (the sisters) and create a new country for Free Trade that will not discriminate against other races and make his company grow up there avoiding the merchant guild interference

    3. well Rona made use of a loophole in the reasoning to do this, but she doesnt want to antagonize makoto at all, she wasnt hostile to Kuzunoha nor did she do any damage and the only thing she did was not telling Makoto she has been drugging a bunch of hyumans for months, BEFORE they met, yes thats some trouble but makoto needs to be objective and analize the situation, and what is he angry about? does that even matters? i mean he just left everything at the sisters maids hands, so he doesnt even care no?

      1. He made a deal with her based on good faith. Yes she didn’t like to him. However she knew what he intended with his proposal and purposfully performed this action. She got her water but she poisoned the well. And soured future attempts of diplomacy with the MC. She still doesn’t know the scope of his powers, or that he is the so called “devil” or any of that. This isn’t a matter of being objective. She took the MC for a fool and now she will pay the price. And the country she represents will bear the brunt of it. He is currently in the position of power to simply say no and leave. He needs nothing from either the demons or hyumans. Rona played fast and loose with this deal and she is the cause for what Makota is rightfully in a position to do.

      2. When they met, he told her that it would bring trouble to him if she did anything in Rosgardt, since he has a business there, but now she’s trying to destroy it. I would get pissed at her too. Yes, he’s being kicked out right now, but she doesn’t know that, plus he has people there that he cares about.

She thinks that Makoto would have no place but to go over to their side when Rosgardt gets destroyed. She thinks that, since he wants a favorable relationship with the demons, he won’t do anything to them, but she’s severely underestimating him.

She’s the first one to break their current agreement, even if she did so by finding a “loophole”.

        Thanks for the chapter Rei-san.

      3. “Hyumans come in many varieties. And so, to do business more freely and in this land where our first store is located, I wanted to know your objective for infiltrating here. I definitely would like to know” (Makoto)
She Lied in that time so yea he have right to be piss off bisides that atack will get involved his store employes and friends in that town. By the way he didnt want to let the sisters with the company he wanted to use them like a political move for reclaim Kaleneon.

  3. Thanks for the chapter, here’s the next set of ‘decals’

    1. LOL

Bubeleh… and rape the blossoms, plum the cherry! And that my friend is a command we are obligated to obey!

  4. Raidou constantly surprises me with the quality of his mind.

He may be naive, he may have wanted to just run away from conflict and troubles, but when push comes to shove, his mind works very quickly. “If you’re going to pretend you didn’t do anything, then would it be alright if I act as though I believe you didn’t do anything?” Marvelous.

How old is he again? 16? 18? I am fairly certain that at his age, I wasn’t nearly as calm or clear-headed. Or as willing to accept criticism, even if it makes him angry.

    1. Frankly, Makoto’s shown just as much maturity as he has naivety the whole time.
I think it might have something to do with his old life where he grew up fragile child among eerily high spec family members, but just revisiting his conversation with Tsukiyomi shows a consideration and faint hint of wisdom(bogged down in the story by denial and inexperience, but still).

    2. Yep, he is way better than other mc in that matter, he didn’t hesitant to kill enemy, instead some other justice freak never wanna kill.

    3. Lucky, my situation in life forced me to think beyond my age somewhere around 12. Trust no one, and assume everyone will fuck you over, have yet to be disappointed by this because how shitty the people around me are never takes me by surprise anymore. I think it was the time the school nurse threatened to kill me that I looked at everyone as though they were one step away from fucking me over, thankfully i never met someone as shitty as her and her hellspawn again.

    1. I thought the ex-dragon slayer and the supposed to be dead dragon would f- the demon lord meeting up by attacking Matoko as soon as they see him… Rona messing it up even before the meeting was not what I expected…

      1. I throught that too, but after the chap 130-131, well you can said that the shity merchant is a little lucky, if the empire and limia kingdom were to know who made raidou&kuzunoha company angry with the hyuman side, well…

  5. Super thanks for the chap!

    Sh*tstorm is coming!

“… but I could feel that they are used to scheming”
I lol’ed when I read this sentence. Sasuga Tomoe da ne

  6. I think what im most curious about is what will his students do when they find out that he is leaving the hyuman empire to join the demons. I can imagine the rembrant sisters “running away” to join him, as well as the girl that is in love with shiki.(seems like the crazy eloping type) But what of the others? will they try and follow him as new followers? or maintain their loyalties to their respective countries?

Also curious what will happen to the leader of the merchants guild when it is found out that he drove Makoto to the Demon’s side. (considering the popularity of his goods and his now highly sought after teaching methods) mr merchant is going to have sum splainin to do…

    1. Makoto is not going to the demons side. They betrayed him too. They harmed people by giving dope to kids and maybe adults. He is most likely going to revive his parents country or start a non hyuman and non demon side (he does have a lot of them in Asora)
But I do want to see that stupid merchant’s guild regret messing with Makoto…this is why I like reading revenge stories

      1. noo~
        A) Makoto MIGHT not go to the demons side. He is still undecided, he is waiting for the answer from the sisters to his mysterious question before he makes a decision.
        B) The “Betrayal” has just made him rethink his opinion on the demons, hes not totally against them. (yet)
        C) When I say “demon’s side” I mean, that is what the hyumans are going to think. Looking at it from their perspective, Makoto closes up shop, leaves the empire and is spotted heading to or already in the demon’s country. There is no other way for the hyumans to rationalize this other than “Makoto has allied with demons” Even if he just went to start his own empire, they wont know that for awhile.

    1. can i ask for a spoiler about makoto’s rings? i reaaaaaaaaaally want him to kill someone with it and would like to know if it happens….or at least something close to it
and no, i don’t mean via nuke. as in, i’m imagining makoto going to the stage himself, delivering a pure physical beatdown on this ‘brute strength monster’ in front of everyone, knocking him so much that he actually comes back to his ‘senses’ but still a stupid-ass proud bitch and complains and blames makoto’s equipment, then decides to take out one of his rings and gives off that power up aura, and gives it to the hopeless hopelace. Any sane man would realize that the ring sucks power, but not that doped bastard so he puts it on and dries up into dust in like 3 seconds. Everyone just stares and thinks “wtf and he has 9(or 7? does he wear it on his thumbs?) more of those?” >:D

  7. actually thx to this makoto will not even try to go with demon side and if he does then he is more than stupid, what he wanted all this time was able to make transactions and live in peace, thx to this sudden development, only 3 choices can be made

1 > ignoring all that happened and keep doing with hyumans despite the troubles
2 > go demon side and try to start a new being the most stupid and guilliable person that exist making demon side completely make a fool out of him thx to rona noticing he fell for her trick
3 > going certain country where it was supposed to be something about humans, he also noticed the princess being followed by 2 demons. on first place he thought they were demon side spies but who knows in the first place if that country really takes the teachings of humans and how she saw makotos face, there its a probabiliy that its one of the rare places where there its not much discrimination and those demon bodyguards were real bodyguards.

also ive been having certain doubts lately, for example i always thought that the dragon slayer went to the demon side becuz being a battle freak but after many weeks of thinking and repeating tht fight over 5 times i rid it, there its a probabily that she was appointed to go demon side by someone else, who???? who knows we already saw quite a lot of cheeming ppl, still wasnt this chapter to short? i hope it is a double release or something

    1. There won’t be a double release. I am planning on returning to my normal schedule.
You can consider the previous weeks as fast release weeks.
Also, I need my time of rest as well. Translating does cost a lot of stamina.

      1. What do you mean your repeated amazng double paced translations aren’t going to keep happening!? You mean we have to waaaaait for free translations? Unacceptable! D :<

Seriously though, thanks for the pleasant surprises recently and take care not to burn yourself out. 😛

      2. Hope you have a good rest and thanks for the fast release though I thought you’ll need some prep time before you can do fast releases and that you’ll announce it.

    2. In Rona’s defense this project has been going on long before Makoto asked her to pull her demons out, and she probably couldn’t have stopped it this late if she had wanted to.

      1. Actually, she probably could.

Remember that there were two types of drugs she gave. The first one was there to slowly turn people into those things, and the second one was probably the trigger for the final change.

After all, if you’re going to plan something like this, you want to make sure you can trigger your “weapons” at the right time, or even all at the same time for maximum effect. If you don’t know when they’ll trigger, then you can’t really plan for anything, and it’s just random mayhem.

So she could have withheld that other drug if she wanted, and according to Shiki, they could have even somewhat reversed the changes. It’s only now that it reached the final stage that it’s too late.

      2. Rona probably started the project before Raido even arrived in the city. The 2nd son had started into the next phase of drugs around the time Raido became a teacher, it was well after that that Rona met Raido for the first time.

    3. “keep doing with hyumans”
lol, hes not “doing” anybody 😛

Im going to assume English is not your first language, because this is really hard to read and impossible to understand some parts of…

  8. Thanks for the chapter.

My prediction is on track, though I didn’t expect other zombies as well. It’ll be interesting to see his resolution and what his reprisal will be. 😈

  9. He wanted to settle this with negotiation, but he lacked the skills,so shut them up with brute force
    nothing is true,everything is permitted
Remember this and you will be alright in another world, most of the case

  10. Just fucked that bitch plan and make her regrets for trying make fool of makoto, indeed it’s makoto fault to be naive but someone like that bitch more than deserve to be wrecked

  11. Thanks 4 the chapter!

The enemy of my enemy is the enemy of my enemy, nothing less and nothing more.

    1. That’s not necessarily true, is it? It’s more like…
“The enemy of my enemy is another party to watch out for”. Granted, it’s not as catch as yours but…

  12. Since Author-san pretty much summed-up all I wanted to say. I have only one thing to do.

    Cheers for the decent chapter~

    1. also, she did really pull out her subordinates out of Rotsgard. Any of their test subjects before Makoto ever came was another matter.

If the previous one was a merchant, then this time, it’s like dealing with an attorney about a hidden clause in the document/contract of your condo that you didn’t see.

      1. SORRY TO SAYDTHIS BUT I DO REMEMBER MAKOTO SAID PLZ DONT DISTURB THIS TOWN BEFORE HE REQUEST RONA TO GET OUT OR REMOVE ALL HIS SUBORDINATES AND YET SHE STILL CONTINUE TO POISON THE 2ND PRINCE ISNT THAT BETRAYING YOUR TRUST TO THEIR DEMONLORD SIDE?

      2. And I Quote;
        {
“I want you to hear my request. It would have been fine to call Rona-san for that, but I was in a bit of a hurry. I apologize for my rough method. One of our employees got the meaning of ‘politely’ wrong you see. Sorry” (Makoto)

        “Request? A request for cooperation?”

“In the time of the tournament and until it ends, I want all the demons in this town to LEAVE. Just that.” (Makoto)

“?!! I can’t decide that on my own discretion. Also, you said all, but in this town there are several demons that have different views from us. It is impossible to bring them as well”

Maybe it is the truth or a lie. If it is a lie, this is probably a means to make it look as if some of the others are outsiders with different affiliations, in order to leave several comrades here.
For now, I should have all the ones posted on us depart, and the ones who are remaining, it is fine to just be cautious. For the meantime, it is okay if the demons affiliated with the demon lord just refrain from doing anything on their own convenience.
I look at Lime. Maybe he understood what I was trying to say, he looks back at the demon.

“Waka thinks that it is fine to just have the ones posted around us withdraw. We infer that there’s 13 comrades of yours out there. That’s the amount of comrades we want you to at least withdraw.” (Lime)
        }

        —Also,

        {
(Both, is what I want to say, but this time I have a request) (Makoto)

(I will listen. Say it~) (Rona)

(For a brief amount of time, until the tournament finishes is fine, I want the subordinates Rona-san has hidden in Rotsgard to withdraw. Until now, I have been able to tolerate them without problems but…) (Makoto)
        }

      3. “Hyumans come in many varieties. And so, to do business more freely and in this land where our first store is located, I wanted to know your objective for infiltrating here. I definitely would like to know” (Makoto)

“So that’s really it huh. You don’t care about the direction of the war or the damage to the country, only about being a hindrance to your business, right?” (Rona)

        “… Right” (Makoto)

  13. iwas thinking, that bug, really put our MC in situations that can’t happen to normal people, now, our hero is strong minded.
I hope that he just take to Asora his students, eva and Luria, Remembrand and his wife and his employes and say a big sayonara to that bunch of idiots that didn’t see his true worth

  14. I like this. This is some good character development and shows that he is maturing, learning to view the world he is in and the views and attitudes of the people who live there for what it is, while reaffirming his own personal values and deciding just how to proceed from this point onwards. Our relatively naive high school age MC is growing up! Admittedly, that probably doesn’t bode well for the schemes of the various races but hey, we’re here for Makoto and his adventures, not the plans and shadowy plots of the other races. Though I guess at least some of us look forward to journey of Hibiki, and maybe one or two people enjoy watching “Male Hero Whose Name I Don’t Remember”‘s downward spiral.

  15. Sometimes it really irritates me how much of a spoiled brat Makoto is. On the one hand we have him thinking about all of the lies he’s been telling to protect Asora, but then he complains about how when other people deceive him they’re in the wrong. Even when the deception isn’t a deception, but instead them doing exactly what he asked for but simply not volunteering extra information and not going out of their way to do more than he requested by guessing at his intent. He didn’t ask Rona not to do anything during the festival. He asked her to withdraw the demons which she did. As much as I enjoy some of the creativity of the series, Makoto’s hypocrisy bothers me.

    1. Well makoto request for demon withdraw actually because he didn’t want any disturbance in festival since he already get headaches regarding that hopelace guys it just unfortunately he get another trouble from merchants guild (blame his naivety) so feeling deceived kinda natural since that hopelace guys become like that still had something to do with the demon scheme

    2. He is still a kid by modern standard. He also lived in a relatively peaceful nation before coming to the other world. His worldview is bound to be immature. Unfortunately because of his position, any mistakes he makes will have greater consequence than what mistakes from a normal teenager usually would.

    3. the good thing about this is, the Author makes sure that Makoto’s naivete is pointed out later in the story that slaps him in the face rather than glossing it over by some miracle cure. Although it is sometimes difficult to stomach, it does feel good when the time comes that it bites him in the ass.

…but, how he is learning from all of this failures, at least for me, has yet to be seen. However, that’s just because time is flowing slowly, currently.

      1. I pretty much agree with you. I like how the author keeps bringing out his flaws and consequences for them, like the trio incident in Asora. This is way better than the way Death March has been bugging me lately where I would sometime scream in my head that he so need to have consequential event occur for his half-ass actions. Unfortunately the author makes it a happy ending where all the key characters will always survive. Although I am still reading it because it is one of the few jp novels with frequent release, I do feel like dropping it.

      1. Remember, though, that in chapter 122 what Makoto asked for was the demons to be withdrawn. When he was asked why he said he didn’t want to say. So he wasn’t lied to. She acquiesced to exactly what he asked for. It was his fault for not knowing what he wanted. I’m also not sure your difference is clear. What’s the difference between Makoto lying to protect Asora and Rona withholding extra information to protect the demons that were driven nearly to extinction by the Goddess and the Hyumans?

    4. 1) that is called a lie by omission, which involves intent to deceive
      2) this is clearly an act of aggression rather than self-defense on the demons’ part. you might try to justify that aggression by claiming that it is to prevent extinction, but whether it is justified is tangential to the question of whether it is the same.

      1. 1) For it to be a lie by omission she would have had to leave something out. She didn’t. The only thing he asked for was the removal of her men. She wasn’t asked anything. There is a difference between failure to volunteer extra information that may or may not be relevant and lying by omission. By not having a discussion on the matter he presented no opportunity for her to lie, by omission or otherwise. She can’t be expected to correct misconceptions she isn’t even aware of because he didn’t want to discuss them. He didn’t ask the demons not to do anything during the festival. He only asked that they remove their operatives which they did. You could even make an argument that Makoto was guilty of willful ignorance.

        (Convenient definition of terms follows:
Lie by Omission: Also known as a continuing misrepresentation, a lie by omission occurs when an important fact is left out in order to foster a misconception. Lying by omission includes failures to correct pre-existing misconceptions.

Willful blindness (sometimes called ignorance of law, willful ignorance or contrived ignorance or Nelsonian knowledge) is a term used in law to describe a situation in which a person seeks to avoid civil or criminal liability for a wrongful act by intentionally keeping himself or herself unaware of facts that would render him or her liable.)

        2) You’re forgetting that the humans have already declared war on the demons and launched an attack/invasion on territory that is currently in the hands of such. Once war has been declared it is not an act of aggression to launch offensives against those aggressing against you. In point of fact the academy is, at least in part, a military school where they train future soldiers and officers making it a valid target.
There are no indications that the attack itself is directed at Makoto. It is an attack directed at the humans that Makoto is only tangentially involved with. This is no more an attack against Makoto than Makoto training, arming, and providing medical aid to the hyumans is an attack against the demons. If he wants to claim ‘splash damage’ as an offence then what claim do the demons get against Makoto for arming/equipping Hibiki’s entire party?

        1. 1) let us not forget that Rona attempted to manipulate makoto by telling him the truth about shiki and the forest onis. what you’re claiming might hold in an American court of law but not any discussion of ethics.
          2) still a justification, not an equivalency to lying about asora. he has not concealed his involvement with humans from Rona as she did her attack.

  16. Thanks for the chapter~!

Cliff-San, my old nemesis, we meet again. . .

Makoto is growing up nicely, sad that his surroundings have to change to force that growth on him. But that’s indicative of an otherworlder’s POV, so it is not bad or stupid. It just is. Now, what are you going to do?

  17. It’s because Makoto was too naive thinking certain race would have certain quality. It is naive to think that the opposite of evil is good when it is only another evil. It’s always grey.

Both sides will always be grey mixes of good an evil. Even Makoto and Asora only managed to free themselves from such only because of their supreme power, loyalty and riches.

There is no politics in Asora because everyone is loyal to Makoto, so loyal that there seem to be no ambition or agenda of their own, no one fight for the throne. And resources are so abundant that citizens of Asora don’t have to compete for the limited resources. (Except from few really rare ones) They even have too much land for them to cover. And they have more than enough power to ignore goddess blessing and there is no threat to Asora at all.

There is no fight in Asora because there is no need to.

    1. (I’ve only read the last part about how peaceful Asora is.)

If they did do something like fight for position, Makoto’ lackeys would undoubtedly pummel, or bury, or grind, or mince, them to the ground. The thought itself is already a detriment.

Also, it’s residents are after all, strictly interviewed first. Although it still possible to happen once they take in more residents/races. So far, they are living in content.

      1. true, they all worship him but it would be very interesting to add conflict in the community when it has expanded enough. Although the novel is lacking in world building, I like the author spends time on the characters in this novel as well as their growth.

  18. I eat cliffhangers for breakfast >:^)

Now onto the story, will Raidou go full YOLO, save the town, raid the demon camp or just chill af?

  19. Now that I think about it, I wonder if this is going to jeopardize Rona’s standing in the same way the Merchant Guild’s Representative is in for a bad time?

She can argue semantics all she wants, but it won’t change the fact that she worsened Makoto’s opinion of the demon race. Even if demons will be like that anyway, there’s no reason to rock the boat before Makoto meets with the Demon King and possibly offers something valuable in an agreement first.

    1. I’m more amazed that she wasn’t informed that the “Devil” had named himself a merchant named “Raidou”. Seriously, didn’t you give a report, Sophia and Lancer? How did that not reach the intelligence officer’s ears of all people?

      1. because if sophia and mitsurugi tell them this story they will make both side scare and not continues their war thus reducing the amount of they work i they said something like this “HEY DEMONLORD!! SOMEONE NAMED RAIDOU IS STRONG ENOUGH TO WIPE OUT YOUR ENTIRE FORCE” this will make the demon lord having a second though of continueing their wars (because king without his people is just a man in his fancy seat) thus making civil war between faction “PEACE FACTION” and “WAR FACTION” and imagine these yes mitsurugi and sophia will be wanted as an reinforcement as their are natural but if the war ended and the war ended with one winning (let’s say WAR FACTION) thus i’m CONFIDENT 100% that the demon doesn’t have enough force to destroy human and human then can easily destroy demon ending the war and making mercenary lose their job the only work themself had now is if not becoming a worker then just hoping for another war broke out and that will be certain for the next 1-5 years after the great war but then what? nothing so IT WILL giving more profit if they give a word like these “there are someone in human faction that can match me so i want more reward because this will might just get me killed even though i’m the strongest human” sophia can bring more profit by giving reason like “more reward because the enemy is to dangeroues even for me”

(sorry if it’s long and sorry for my english)

  20. PUNISH ALL ! WHO DECEIVES YOU CRUSH THEM AND TRAMPLE THEIR STUPID PRIDES! LET THEM FEEL YOUR WRATH! WHETHER THEY ARE HYUMANS OR DEMONS! LET THEM EXPERIENCE FEAR AND REALIZE THEIR BIGGEST MISTAKE THAT THEY HAVE DONE FROM THEIR ENTIRE LIFE! THIS WORLD IS SO TAINTED BY CORRUPTED EGO OF THE GODDESS AND BEINGS WHO DONT RESPECT ALL LIFE FORMS RATHER DESTRUCTION THIS WORLD LETS CHANGE IT INTO A BETTER WORLD!

SO THOSE WHO LIKE THIS KIND OF VIEW’S AND DREAMS COME TO MAKOTO’S SIDE!!!

THAT’S WHAT I FEEL RIGHT NOW!!!!

    1. “THIS WORLD IS SO TAINTED BY CORRUPTED EGO OF THE GODDESS”
“LET THEM EXPERIENCE FEAR AND REALIZE THEIR BIGGEST MISTAKE THAT THEY HAVE DONE FROM THEIR ENTIRE LIFE!”

the godess ego is too big. so let’s destroy and bring terror to people that talked shit. there is nothing worse than disrespect our sublim and glorious MC.

please, think about what you are saying ‘-_-

  21. you know you fuvked up when you not close with Makoto and he didn’t call you with Honorific anymore….
well that bitch Rona deserved that…. she didn’t know that she pour a Full of Gasoline on small fire who didn’t burn anything and do not want to burn anything…. prepare for the consequence ~ both Hyumans and Demons ~

  22. “At long lost after going through so many hardships… so many partners… so many flag detectors… so many radioactive pants and soiled shirts I… no… we!! We a just one step away from… The mother of all flags… The lord of all events… A flag hunters Eldorado….Gary!?”
“Gary watch out for that cliff!!!”
    “………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………”
    *thud*
    “shit…”

  23. it not rona false makoto did ask to rona to withdraw the troop and nothing bad happen to his student. it just the the demon plan this out before makoto came to the academy city so it’s can’t be the demon false to begin with.
however the moster can be the bitch goddess false for you know she dislike makoto face and try to get rid of him or demon and like I say before the demon plan it out before makoto came.

    1. That’s why it is called not a lie but sophism. It’s dishonest. While indeed true she withdrew her people, she didn’t tell him that something is beyond the point of no return and that something will definitely happen within the course of the festivities/tournament.

If this was something that was never supposed to actually affect Makoto, it wouldn’t be as much of an isse that she didn’t tell him. But with something big as an “mamono invasion”, even if it doesn’t hurt him, it would definitely affect him/his buisiness.

      1. As I noted elsewhere, though, when she asked the reason for his request he told her he didn’t want her to ask. So you’re basically saying she was bad for not guessing as to a motivation that he didn’t offer. It’s a stretch.

(For a brief amount of time, until the tournament finishes is fine, I want the subordinates Rona-san has hidden in Rotsgard to withdraw. Until now, I have been able to tolerate them without problems but…) (Makoto)
(Can I ask the reason why?) (Rona)
(If possible, I want you to please not ask) (Makoto)

Makoto withheld his agenda and so got exactly what he asked for. He’s the architect of his own disaster on this one.

        1. So because Makoto honestly said “please do not ask” he accumulated enough bad karma to not get told about Rona preparing a “mamono variant invasion” on his town? Really? You are actually arguing that him being honest and her not saying ANYTHING are equally dishonest? They both get equally affected by it? Moreover, even if he had told her his agenda, she still wouldn’t have said anything. Her attitude after the “call” was pretty self-explainatory in my eyes.

      2. The fact that Makoto isn’t open with his secrets is actually pretty valid. Why should he expect different from Rona when he himself is purposefully secretive and stacking up lie upon lie, as he says?

        1. I see a difference there. His lies affect no one, as far as I know. For example; even if he told the representative from the Merchant Guild that he gets his supplies from Asora, and that its gate can be used as teleportation, nothing would change. Sure there would be an outrage, but there would be nothing else. Makoto’s side would remain the only one who has control and access to Asora, and no one can interfere (As far as we know.).

      3. il say like all of you normally il think its makoto own disaster for not telling. BUT rona herself said the words to do it for their short term classmates sake << bow arrow beam fort destroyed then look down arrow beam separate kill every monster in the city ( we know the MC can easily do that since h cant fail and his sakai easily can cover a continent ) fell down say his greetings to rona and walk away HAHA that woul be priceless!

      4. sorry for the double post but since i dont know how to edit or delete a post in this place i post another saying ignore last post for some reason 70% of the post got cut

  24. go to the tsuki ga michibiku isekai douchuu vol 8 image and the battle with the monster begin now we know the jin is the blue hair but who in the hell is the white hair girl please give me a name

      1. the girls on makoto class its amelia sif and yuno right? if those are only then its amelia since there its already an image of sif and yuno and they are blonde

  25. NNNNNNOOOOOOO
    too short
i wanted to see Makoto tell Kuzonoha to break open a can of whoop ass and get rid of the problem monser problem then leave the city like a bad ass while telling the leaders of the countries and the merchants to fuck off i;m going to kill a demon bitch then I’m coming for you; you merchant bastards

  26. The merchant and srupid hyuman schemes made him lost his faith in the hyumans.

Rona made him distrust the demons.

Well, if no one wants you, no one you can trust, no place to go, then its about time to make your own country. Conquer the economy and make all the surrounding countries regret they’re opposing you.

4 seasons for Asora and a secure place to put the gate. Damn, that’s a good idea if I may say so myself.

  27. Yes! Finally Makoto snapped! Yes yes yes!
Now go overpower the state of Rotsgard n show everyone what true power is. Die shitty corrupts!
    That’s my outrage for today.
    Thanks for the chapter!

    1. Only one is a lying bastard though. The other demon general we know seems like a pretty honest and legit guy, no? Moreover from what we know Rona became this much of a “lying bastard” because of the rather pure and innocent wish to help the demon lord in any way she can. So while her methods may be that of a lying bastard, her core is not.

She is like Mio with lots of INT points. 😀

  28. Thanks for the chapter. I wonder how will makoto take kaleneon back from the demonds. Through force? or will he(chances are shiki or tomoe or maybe some mio intimidation) actually negotiate with the demons

  29. I’m just waiting on him opening a portal and letting the mist dragons come through…..The look on his students faces when
they realize there are a lot more of them would be priceless. XD

    1. “mist dragons”

Oh no you didn’t!!! Make sure Tomoe or Root never hear you say that!

It’s mist lizard, not dragon. You don’t want a dragon to hear you confuse them with a lizard, in any way!

  30. yessss i like where this is going …….. not an ally of hyumans nor demons now makoto come and buy all those fight these races are selling to you show them how a merchant bargains 😉

  31. So … when are these merchants starting their attempt to frame the current monster transformation incident on Makoto’s medicine and such (they already did their best to slander him and robb him through the use of their influence and connections before, so that next step is ought to be expected).

    1. Though I wonder if they actually have the guts to do that without making sure beforehand that their backing is good enough so that they actually can afford getting involved in an incident of this scale … involving several VIPs as well as the integrity of the human race … by falsly accusing someone.

  32. You know, Rona really screwed up here
I mean, she had knowledge beforehand of some of Raidou power, at least she knew “larva” or shiki power to some degree, so, she could make an estimate. And then she goes and plays the “wicked devil using cheap tricks” such as “i forgot to mention we are gonna destroy the town using monsters and drugs on the students, i hope you dont get angry…teehee!”,

i mean, dude….. she is supposed to be an all counter-intelligence and strategy character within the demon army, if you have such a obscure factor like Raidou, instead of keeping complete secrecy she could easily have gone “dude, you re in the middle of a war, and while you re not on our side”, then proceed to have makoto swear some form of neutrality in exchange of having him and the students begin protected or be left outside the conflict, heck, Rona could have used her network to at least give information about the merchant guild to Raidou.

Its such a classical case of a “great schemer” blantantly ignoring a great factor begin evidently important or critical for the whole scene, i mean, you can safely say that within the demon race preparations the only loose tie was Raidou. And Makoto himself was quite clear about begin neutral, also, he is clearly aware of begin in the middle of a war between two races, So if you tell someone neutral “hey dude, you re in middle of our next battlefield, could you move away for awhile until we re done” most likely makoto would simply take his students, rembrand’s, eva, rukia and then simply go.

Instead, we have Rona, leaving the “uncertain” factor called Raidou in the middle of the conflict, clearly breaking her promise ( with a weak argument such as : you never told me not to induce mass panic or monsters ), Hell, if Makoto really were a merchant as he stated, then, he would simply save the king and all the nobles and have them owe him, big, thus, foiling once again the demons scheme.

Its such a dumb action to force an unknown factor into action like this, its too high of a price ruining everything planned in exchange of what… knowing his strenght ?, measuring his williness to action ?, for all she knows, he could break away from neutrality simply beucase one kid died by mistake… then she only gains a true foe which, she herself has acknowledged as possesing critical factors such as battle tactics, mindset, and the skill to see through their illutions

    Great Chapter, Thank you!!

    1. It’s actually dumber then what you think to force Makoto’s hand like this, Rona knows that there’s a third hero who is more powerful then the Demon Lord himself and seeing where Raidou came from (from where the Demon Lord felt the magical power) it should be pretty obvious it’s him.

There’s already a meeting in place between Raidou and the Demon Lord, yet not only did she not seem to have linked the two together (third hero and Raidou) she is fine in thinking that Raidou and Shiki will survive so it should be okay to go trough with the attack…

Except for the whole “antagonizing future allies” who she herself set up a meeting with her boss because she was interested in his strength.

I mean, she knows what she’s doing is playing with napalm but does it anyway, she even tells the general guarding the fortress to be ready for anything, so she knows swift retaliation is a possibility.

What kind of intelligence type military body acts “before” either bringing an uncertain element into the fold or eliminating it? Worse still, she didn’t take the time to evaluate it’s full strength before sabotaging any chance at a partnership basically creating a new enemy of unknown power.

Rona might be the dumbest “genius strategist” ever…

    2. I think that’s a fairly unfair assessment. For one thing the extent of Makoto’s power is completely unanticipated, and everything to do with Shen and Asora a complete secret. To his credit, Makoto routinely suppresses his own power with sekai, so no one is actually perceptive enough to feel that, and while she may have dealt with Larva in the past, Shiki has experienced a pronounced power up from where he used to be. Even Tomoe and Mio became stronger after the contract, so given the shenanigans involved with getting him even up to a similar level you can consider her reference of Shiki to be outdated at best with hardly any reason to suspect much otherwise. Also she has absolutely no idea about Tomoe or Mio, and since her operatives have been pulled from the city the single time they’ve actually visited there that likely remains true even now.

If there’s a fault here it’s that she knows of the “devil”, but not that he called himself a merchant named Raidou, and that can probably be levied against Sophia and Lancer or whoever else disseminates information for the head of demon intelligence. Right now she has little reason to assume they are the same, yet she still entertained the thought at first which was probably perceptive of her. Right now his standing is of a curious merchant who may be possible to use later, but she’s operating under the common sense of the world, and that sense also tells her that forest oni are uncooperative bastards and Larva is untrustworthy. He’s a powerful entity and one she probably thinks will be potentially useful, but she actually has no way of even gleaming the depths of his power because he doesn’t allow her, or anyone, to do so.

Instead she has secured an agreement for him to meet the demon king, and this may honestly be the smartest thing she could have done because it gets him into open talks with the side rather than relegate him to just something to be used, and decided that without knowing even a fraction of what he has in reserve.

  33. You know what? It would be really refreshing if he jumped in the stage, walked slowly, just so that everyone will notice him and fear for his death cause, you know, he’ll be fighting something unknown. Then, in front of everyone, he removes each of his rings and his robe, to release all of his power, and show them who they SHOULD BE afraid of.

After that he can wear them again, go up his seat and eat some snacks in a “no fucks were given from my side” just so they can go ahead and do their things. Like peeing themselves, running in terror and calling it the apocalypse. Things that happens everyday at Townsville.

    1. He should just take off all his rings, spread his Sekai across the town and then all the monsters would flee from his power. That happens every time a monster senses Makoto’s power, like in the wasteland and the lake he created. Even strong monsters don’t approach the lake.

If he just let them sense his power, they would all run away from town.

  34. He should just lift his seal, and let them feel his presence just like before and let them know how much they fucked up..

  35. finally makoto will trash everything in that worthless world. what? thats not it? . . . . . . . but, but. . . ok then

  36. A well now i finally get why the dragon girl got help from 2 demon comanders to fight raidou… yep rona messed really big this time, the best chance she ever got to have a baby god as partner of the demon race and she burned it, i hope she can see the entire picture later, well if you cant go right nor left, just make the center yours uh? I bet makoto will grown a lot after this since he finally was able to see how naive he is.

  37. Got to hand it to Makoto he has a lot of patience… perhaps a little too much for his own good, but whatever floats his boat I guess… I hope he does something about this.

  38. This hopeless mc… The plot is getting more and more annoying,, it’s like the author wants the reader to drop this series…

  39. Yes yes you are fucking naive. You have greatest knowledge and intelligent book yet you trust Rona over Shiki, now open your eyes see how much stupid you are even your slaves lying to you.

  40. Nice! Thank you! I hope the last part about how the strong dictate his will means he is finally decided to show a bit of his strength 🙂

  41. Parece que si creara su propia facción ojala saque guerreros estilo mongol, es que ese tipo de guerreros eran lo mejor de lo mejor después de la legión romana.

    1. more than a lot- remember he had already a flock of demon lords when he recently made the pact with mio, and he had done his training several times after that haha

god in reality when he starts ti train supressing his power thats something i still thing its completely more fun in the manga than the novel, il never forget that manga just said that some DL dissapeared from the flock but on the manga in the image appared and only 1 dissapared and the image had the words HAHAHA it was the weakest of us !!! HAHA I LAUGHTED AS HELL when i read that

  42. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH !! I’ll definitely not fall for that ! I’m not gonna read it until the next chapter is translated !
But still thanks for your work !

  43. First the goddess took him then cast him away
Then the hyumans constantly interfere with his business and anonymity
Now the demons have slighted him on his trust and mutual dislike of the goddess…

Everyone’s being a d*** to the wrong person

  44. nice nice!!! if the hyuman route is a bad end… and the demon route too… then make your own route and START DESTROYING EVERYTHING!!! ahha

  45. fufufu would we see the devil awakens next episode, together with invincible dragon and black calamity?

    stay tuned to find out

…sorry,i just wanna saying that xD

  46. Now he has been messed up from the two sides. I hope his mind isn’t broke like mc in arifureta because it will be boring if there is 2 good novels with the same conditions. I really curious what will he do now

    Thanks rei-dono

    1. I think that’s the trigger Root was talking about, up till now Makoto lived in the shadows but now he will take a stance in the big game.

  47. Since he already promised to meet with the Demon Lord, though he had other goals in mind, he should take that opportunity to give Rona a figurative slap in the face while there.

After some small talk and exchanging pleasantries with the Demon Lord:

Makoto: “You know, Demon Lord. Not too long ago I was considering supporting Demons from behind. I though you were the good guys, especially after meeting Rona, and the Hyumans were mostly pricks to me.”

DL (Demon Lord): “Umu. So what changed?”

Makoto: “Well, Rona turned out to be just as much of a prick as the Hyumans.”

Rona: “…!!! Hey, what do you mean by that!? I didn’t do anything to you or yours!”

Makoto: “You promised not to cause any trouble during the tournament.”

Rona: “I promised to withdraw all the Demons for the duration. Just as you asked of me!”

Makoto: “You’re twisting my words. You knew the intentions behind my words. If you think what you did makes you smart, then you’re wrong. It makes you unreliable instead.”

    Rona: “…”

Makoto: “I have no intention of dealing with someone who will take any opening to screw with me. I do not want to waste my time worrying about covering every possible eventuality when making a deal, simply because you’re only capable of following the letter of the deal, and not the spirit of it.”

DL: “So, if you have no intention of working with us. Why did you come here?”

Makoto: “To negotiate for the lands of (whatever his parent’s country was called). You give me the lands, and I forgive you for what you did.”

DL: “And what makes you think we’ll agree to that?”

Makoto: “What makes you think you have a choice? I was willing to offer you guys some favorable terms in exchange, but Rona here convinced me that I want as much to do with the Demons, as I do with Hyumans. That land will be mine. It’s your choice whether you give it willingly and we part on friendly terms, or not.”

Then, Makoto says his farewells and starts to leave. He’s blocked by some Demons, at which point he takes off his seals, and the magic energy emanating from him creates so much pressure that everyone there drops to the floor, unable to move a muscle, and hardly able to breathe. Makoto then walks away, and once he gets outside the castle, he opens a gate, steps through, then seals it behind him.

    1. That was a great scene portrayal. Too bad that ain’t gonna be how it goes down (not a spoiler since I can’t read the raws). I could see something similar happening, except it happens by mistake. Like Makoto mentioning the incident and voicing his impressions of Rona because of them. The DL reads into his words that same threat (though not exactly what he meant), and Rona being embarrassed the same way (again unintentional).

I wish your version would be the true version though.

    2. Makoto: “You’re twisting my words. You knew the intentions behind my words. If you think what you did makes you smart, then you’re wrong. It makes you unreliable instead.”

Except this part is false. She asked him why, he said not to ask, so she complied with exactly what he requested. The responsibility for this is entirely on him.

Rona: “Did you forget that when I asked for your reasons you opted not to give any and instead just told me not to ask? So now you’re trying to blame me for not reading your mind or predicting desires you didn’t choose to share? How nice for your conscience to blame someone else for your own mistakes.”

    3. Yeah… Not gonna happen pal, but hey she do screw some things and end having to taste a litle of makoto wrath later, so keep your hopes ok.

    1. Did you just say that Rona is a God? Bug’s sister!? Is this a major spoiler!?! Or just a case of a missing comma? 😛

  48. I hope he goes on a little monster exterminating rampage and ‘accidentily’ blows up the merchant HQ along with stringing Rona up by her neck.

The enemy of my enemy is also my bloody enemy so they can all burn in hell, I am neutral so i will kill them both equally 😀

  49. all hail cliff-sama,
now that he found out even demon race can not be trusted, I am curious about the question more. Rona an idiot that for sure. Makoto clearly state that done do anything that will disturb the festival and she gone and done that.
I guess she did not anticipate that he really thinking on siding with demon, tough luck Rona I guess

    1. I think she planned this as a way to test his power and Shiki’s loyalty to him, something along the lines: “if Raidou survives then he’s worthy to be an ally, if he dies he was never good enough”, maybe she thinks she can still rally him to the demons cause after this.

The only reason I can come up for her to follow through with her plan that doesn’t make her sound like an idiot is that she thinks the likelihood of it working and crippling the hyumans is worth antagonizing the unknown element that is Raidou and his company…

      1. It maybe she want to test makoto, but there is no way to get an ally (although fake) that way, she did not get enough info of kuzunoha and makoto but she still take chances to make an enemy of him. That is not a strategist way of thought.

  50. rona want makoto have debt to her and change side to demon but
she use drug to many human to attack at the same time.
if she want to kill vips, she should come to attack by herself.

Makoto and vips still watch tournament
    what is rona expect outcome.
    1. Makoto stay still ,watch many people die and chang side to demon.
2 Makoto shiki and his student figth back but can’t do much.
    or
    3. Makoto wipe out demon force.

    1. The unexpected action that might screw up Rona’s plan could be to cure everyone infected, sell some favors, gain strong supporters(Limia’s King,Lorel etc…) and use that position as leverage against her.

  51. Finally MC matures a bit. Finally a truly neutral country’s going to be established. And in process some demons’ll get annihilated.

    1. Like a truly neutral country was never a powerhouse… Gundam has a lot to say about that and Makoto will follow it, also “SPOILER AHEAD!” Only mutants will fall this time, the demons AND hyumans will get their chance on the second phase of the plan.”SPOILER END!”

  52. He should decide to be a tsunami and go where he pleases and do as he pleases, either go with the flow. Or get crushed by the wave known as the kuzonoha company

  53. Hmmmmm, people are debating a lot over Rona’s actions, right?

First and foremost, Makoto is a “Hyuman”. The race that’s in war with the demons. There is no way Rona, as a demon general, is going to give information about her master plan to kill enemy VIP’s. It would be stupid if she did so. Not to mention, this plan has been hatched by months, from the time she and Makoto first met at least! Did Makoto actually expect a demon general to listen to him, a single hyuman, and simply give up on a plan involving the future of her entire race? That was merely naivety from him!

On Rona’s side she’s made a mistake of ther own. When Makoto called her to remove her soldiers, she should have said something along these lines: “we are going to make a move during the festival. Be careful and get out of the way”. There was no need to say anymore than this. If you want to bring someone over to your side, it’s just logically obvious not to put that person in risk with your own schemes. And, giving Makoto a hint will deepen mutual trust. “Larva is Strong, so Raidou will not die”? And what about Makoto’s employees (which are mostly powerful, but some not that much, like the Edwas)? His students? The people he cares about and would definitely protect? Did she not consider she’s going to attack these people as well? In the end she completely discarded Makoto…

    1. excuse me for this please…

Rona is a strategist from the demon race camp, right? and the effect of the medicine that Hopeless was taking(that’s from Rona’s calculations to create chaos), was due on the day of the end of the tournament, right? indeed, she has discarded Makoto by not giving cautions of the events going to occur, and that is according to their plan as well. But, in a sense, a strategist has a pride to keep the schedule of effect of their plan and processes the events along the line to see if an obstacle will hinder it. and like the conclusion Makoto reached was that Rona did not lie in their promise but also did not tell the truth.

what i am saying is this. Rona’s target is not Makoto, but the hyumans present in Rotsgard that day. remember that she said, she cannot understand Makoto’s thoughts (as a strategist, that’s an obstacle or a landmine that is visible but untouchable), thus warning him may ruin their plan. Makoto said so himself, he is neutral, but put your shoes in Rona’s. Makoto is of the enemy’s race with broad intelligence gathering strength, so tricking him is the best option to proceed their plan.

and you got to admit… the anticipation to know what Makoto will do from now on is exciting… ne~? ^_^

  54. his entire fault lies on his ignorance….
the moment he kill that bitch long time ago, i would expect he would go ‘naofumi’, but due having someone! a family to as an outlet and escapism … he remain oblivious with enmity that gather around him,

  55. With how popular the translation is becoming, I would advise the translator to add a plugin to collapse (hide / show) the comment sections. It causes the page to take forever to load on the smartphone when there are hundreds of additional comment content to load. Loading speed problem doesn’t exist on pc/laptop.

This is on a multicore 2.3GHz 4GB ram smartphone with a 28MBps/5MBps Internet connection.

    1. Wasn’t anywhere near as bad when the comments still used paging. With the unlimited length comment section it is getting resource intensive, especially for chapters that have a lot of comments. Instead of having 3-4 pages it’s all in one long list.

  56. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, really shouldn’t be taken literally. A smarter version would be:-
The enemy of my enemy is my potential and likely temporary ally of convenience.

    1. The enemy of my enemy is an enemy of my enemy if my enemy has an enemy that’s an enemy of my enemy unless the enemy of my enemy is an enemy of their enemy where the enemy of that enemy is not an enemy of my enemy.

  57. If you’re using the wayback machine to get these, what will u do when you run out and why are u translating from the wayback rather than the normal edited version?

  58. I have not been through any bad things with the demon race, so they are good guys. Truly a childish thought.

Hey dude.. Did you forget it’s a WAR with their entire race in stake.. I really hope he won’t save hyumans besides his “friends” and pupils.. He don’t have any reasons after all.

  59. This motherfucker is one stupid and naive motherfucker !!!!! how can you not learn after so many times bruh this is really getting on my nerves this is completely the authors fault for making an op mc and then not knowing how to fucking make the rest. I feel like he only wanted an OP mc he didn’t think about the rest much so he just went with ha merchant guild ok lets make that ahh adventurers guild cool cool lets go with that ..hmm lvls yes we got to have some lvls in there so i can make the mc look even more op put some op side characters and thats it we good FUCK the character development of the mc he already op so there POOOWEEER YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE there TAKE in bitches in YOUR FACE that should satisfy you fuckers (AND HIS NOT EVEN USING IT or tried to control it i mean what in the ACTUAL FUCK)… i feel like the only thing he did of his own free will is to me that company nothing else and save that Toa girl i guess.

  60. who knew that roid rage would cause so much trouble? well, that’s not going to stop me, though. i need a buff body, i want to look fabulous.

  61. Re-reading this, Rona really fucked up by going through with the plan. They gain the possible destruction of Rotsgard, but lose Makoto’s cooperation.

Even if it was just as a merchant, we’ve seen via Tsige that his goods are capable of revitalizing at least smaller towns, and while his teaching methods wouldn’t be as ground breaking for demons, the growth rate is still crazy. He would also be providing them with (fairly small) amounts of high quality medicine, weapons, and armor.

  62. yeah thats what you get for being a naive brat you thought you could just waltz around like you’re in earth huh i hope it gets nailed into his stupid head that things are different in the world that he’s currently in and being a softy fag will only get him in trouble.

  63. “Eh? But the demon race is different right? Rona-san pulled back her troops and she said that she would cooperate for the sake of Jin and Amelia” (Makoto)

    *Scratching my hairs furiously

Eh my arse … This Guy … Where’s that B!tchslap you got from Merchant Guild Rep. earlier go ? … is that self reflection/contemplating about naieveity just a facade ?

Gosh, when i see the slight progress on MC brain, i thought he learned his lesson … Now, he back to square one (o.O)

*facepalmed … But still enjoying it anyway

  64. ‘Instead of the one being deceived, the one doing the deceiving is the wrong one’.
I’m glade he didn’t change his way of thinking

  65. Hyumans or demons… Why join one of those two camps? Just create your own third faction with demi-humans and mamonos. Easy peasy.
