Chapter 129: Kuzunoha’s meeting

Translator: Hey guys, a translator talk here 🙂

The moment I translated the ‘Raidou breaks’ chapter, I was sure it would explode. I was actually looking forward to what would happen and you guys definitely didn’t let me down.

All your comments were awesome. The majority were actually constructive opinions and views in different angles. Of course there will be bashing towards Makoto, and they were all interesting as well. Makoto was struck with the truth after all. We all knew he was messing up as a merchant, but for the repercussion to come in such a… realistic manner. It was pretty surprising.

I honestly loved that chapter, and the reactions towards it make me love this community even more.

Keep it up guys. You are my motivation!

In the time when Princess Lily was troubled in stepping to action regarding Jin and the others…

At a section of the audience, two girls wearing clothes that remarkably stand out were sighing.

Raidou- Makoto’s followers, Tomoe and Mio.

The other follower, Shiki, was babysitting the students, so he was doing separate actions.

“How boring~. When there’s this much difference in power, it isn’t a fight but a show-ja na” (Tomoe)

“That’s why I was saying so since yesterday, wasn’t I? If they were not Waka-sama’s students, I wouldn’t even be here watching-desu wa” (Mio)

“If they were our students like with Shiki, we would be able to enjoy it in a different way but… Mio, what is that bizarre inflated bag-ja?” (Tomoe)

“What you ask, it is the specialty products of booths here and there-desu wa” (Mio)

“It is an answer, and yet it isn’t. No, what I am asking is about the amount-ja yo” (Tomoe)

At the side of Tomoe there’s Mio and further after, there’s several big light brown paper bags. Seeing that, she asks with enmity.

Mio’s answer was nonchalant, and she tells her that it is all food.

But what Tomoe wanted to know, is just as she said, the amount of it.

In the seats that are supposed to be fully occupied, one of them is being totally occupied.

To protect her honor, Mio explains that this is originally the seat of Makoto and because he can’t come, she is just utilizing it in an effective way.

In no way did she put all that food because she doesn’t want anyone else to come sit there.

“I will eat it all by the time we return, so don’t mind it. If you want me to share some with you, just say it honestly okay?” (Mio)

“I don’t need any. I feel like it might give me a heartburn” (Tomoe)

“Hmph, if this were alcohol, you would take it without doubt” (Mio)

The two of them leisurely watch the team battles unfolding in the stage while doing trivial talk.

There were no matches that were worth watching, and even in the matches with Jin and the others, the opponent was so weak it wasn’t fun.

Moreover, their master Makoto was not there.

Watching those matches earnestly might be something hard to do for these two girls.

“At this rate, I can’t expect much from tomorrow’s semifinal and finals. Well, we will be able to sit along with Waka, so that’s fine” (Tomoe)

“Same-desu wa. If I am together with Waka-sama, the place doesn’t matter” (Mio)

“Fumu, it seems it is done already-ja na. Mu” (Tomoe)

Tomoe and Mio notice something at the same time.

“Mio, Waka is calling-ja. We are going back” (Tomoe)

“I know already-desu wa. It seems he is slightly dispirited, so let’s hurry” (Mio)

Receiving a thought transmission from their master, Tomoe and Mio both nod and get up from their sits.

A short and straightforward thought transmission.

‘I have something I want to consult about, so I want you to return to the company’, is what he said.

A tone with no vigor.

While holding worry in their chest, they meet up with Shiki and return to the company.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

“For the time being, it is fine to kill that representative-desu wa ne?” (Mio)

“Mio, the talk has not finished yet. Calm down first” (Tomoe)

“What stupid thing are you saying? I am completely calm-desu wa. Can’t you see that I clearly understand what I should do?” (Mio)

“That’s why I am telling you to wait for now. The talk has not finished yet-ja. Wait for a bit” (Tomoe)

“Such abusive language towards Waka-sama… abusive language… it wasn’t such a lukewarm level-desu wa ne? How should I kill him?” (Mio)

“Mio. I am telling you to hear what that very Waka has to say until the end-ja” (Tomoe)

After I finished telling the outline of what happened, Mio stood up and tried to leave the room.

I didn’t have the vitality to stop her immediately, so Tomoe took my place and inhibited Mio.

Even I could tell that Tomoe was looking at me with fainthearted eyes.

N?

Inhibited was it?

I feel like she didn’t stop her…

“As I thought, one of us should have gone as well”

It’s Shiki.

In terms of result, it is just as he said.

It might have been better if I had one of them accompany me.

If I had one of my followers with me, I felt like they would resolve it with strength. I thought that if that happened, then it would be pointless.

The first time Rembrandt-san met Tomoe, he was left completely speechless and was pretty withered.

I wanted to know the extent of the ill will the other merchants held towards me.

In the past, when I met Rembrandt-san the first time to give him the Ruby-eye’s eyes, it went well, so I thought maybe I would be able to hold my conversation if the other party was a merchant.

The context matched when I associated with Rembrandt-san, so even with the matter of Tomoe’s level, I think I would have been able to manage it properly. But this time, the representative was someone I had no connection with.

I didn’t want to prepare something like intimidation in our first meeting.

That naïve way of thinking led to this.

I was pushed into an unreasonable situation, made a fool of, and returned like a loser.

“Sorry for saying something like wanting to go alone” (Makoto)

“If one of us were with you, there’s the chance that place would have turned into a sea of blood, so not everything is bad. Don’t mind it that much” (Tomoe)

“Waka-sama is not in the wrong!” (Mio)

Tomoe tries to comfort me and Mio interposes with a rebuttal.

No, no matter how you think about it, the way I dealt with it was bad.

“Now that I think about it, not a single one of us has knowledge in business. We all began as novices. There might have been more ways to deal with it if we were introduced by Rembrandt-shi and taught the basics” (Shiki)

Not might. That’s what we should have done.

Before that, there’s the problem that even when I myself began a company just recently, I still went and did things here and there, neglecting the business.

And in truth, the company still did well.

No, that’s how it looked.

That’s why it brought upon more negligence.

It may be this late of a time to do so, but I have to reflect on it.

“Shiki, even you! Why does Waka-sama have to feel down?! In the first place, Waka-sama was displeased by the shortage of medicines that can’t reach the hands of the people and were easily losing their life, so he aspired to spread medicines, right?! Why does he have to learn how to act around those merchants to not be resented?! He is doing something that’s good for everyone, and yet, why?! Isn’t this ridiculous?!” (Mio)

The words of Mio that were trying to cover for me no matter what, were grinding at my heart.

That’s right.

I wanted to sell medicine in order for everyone to have an easy way of reaching out to it.

For that reason, I wanted to do business widely without minding which country it was.

Because of circumstances, we also handle various miscellaneous goods as well, but those are just extras.

Doing something good.

Because I had that thinking in a part of me, maybe that’s why I only looked at the people I was selling to.

Not doing anything excessive with the price because of people of the same trade, the counter-plans I did for the copies and resale; those were the only things I thought of.

And in truth, even the price might be questionable. We collected everything ourselves, had the people needed for the compounding, and left it to a point where we would barely escape deficit.

That is… within the range?

That’s probably not it.

Since the time the people made a rude comment of my demi-human employees, I haven’t gone to the meetings of the merchants in the area.

Lately, Akua, Eris and the eldwa craftsmen have grown more accustomed to socializing with hyumans. But, even so, it was most likely an error to not relate with the merchants around.

Ignoring association must have made the impression of Kuzunoha Company even more ominous.

Even if I have good intentions, a business is a business.

There will obviously be competition.

There will be people who would want to eliminate the ones who have the same target of customers, and if you do something that stands out, the big companies will place an eye on you.

I didn’t make a method to cope with it when something like that happened, and have continued until this day.

As expected, I can’t order to eliminate them just because they have kept an eye on us after all.

In Tsige it was different, but in Rotsgard I don’t have any backing.

In other words, I was defenseless.

“Mio, that’s just idealistic talk. It isn’t just distributing. As long as we are doing a business, these kind of things happen. I won’t say Waka has done nothing wrong, but I have to admit we were somewhat defenseless” (Tomoe)

“… I hold the same opinion. Of course, it is true that I should have acted in a better way. I have no excuse” (Shiki)

“!!! There’s something wrong with you guys! Even though Waka-sama is the absolute rule! The stupid ones are the merchants that are only looking at the near future!” (Mio)

Mio would most likely stand by my side no matter what happens.

Even if I were to turn into a fiend, even if I were to become the enemy of the whole world, she would still be willing to fall to the same place as I am.

That’s why I have to put myself together.

If she falls so far, that’s all my responsibility.

As if persuading myself, I try to kill the unfair anger that’s inside me.

At the very least, I don’t think this is something that is fine to solve with just violence.

The existence of Mio who is willing to give her everything for me, prevented my current unstable emotions from rampaging.

“… Waka. That representative said things that are difficult to forgive, but he also said good things. How about it? I think that since we have the chance, there’s also the option of giving up on hyumans and opening a store in the villages of demi-humans” (Tomoe)

“Serving only demi-humans?” (Makoto)

“Yes. If you wish to, we can also serve demonic beasts and mamonos. Also, Waka told me, that you wanted the four seasons. I don’t think Waka likes conflict, so you probably intent to have a relationship with the demon race in order to secure that place right? Then, I think it should be fine to do business with them. Continuing business in the hyuman society and having our hearts crushed, it would only create more weight in Waka, and I don’t think that’s a good idea” (Tomoe)

“The demon race publicly hates hyumans, but they are generous towards other races. I think the proposal of Tomoe-dono is worth considering” (Shiki)

“I… don’t understand complicated stuff. But I don’t think there’s a need for Waka-sama to be under people that just want to take advantage of Waka-sama’s kindness” (Mio)

Kindness huh.

Maybe I was looking at it that way in some part of me.

And, maybe the people around saw it that way as well.

“I…” (Makoto)

“Waka, please tell us what you are currently thinking. If Waka so wishes, we will fight with whoever. Also… we will lower our heads to whoever you wish us to” (Tomoe)

Mio and Shiki nod at Tomoe’s words.

Right. There’s no need to hide anything from them.

They are my family in this world after all.

“… Just like I promised to Tomoe, I plan on having a connection with the demon race. After a conversation with one of the demon generals, I promised a meeting with the Demon Lord. It will be after the school festival is over, but I intent to meet with the Demon Lord and ask it to let me take over or borrow one location where Tomoe says the four seasons are in” (Makoto)

I resolve myself and tell the three what I was thinking.

Tomoe nods with a joyful look and glittering eyes.

Shiki looks like he consents. He silently nods with his eyes closed.

Mio simply accepted my words and was smiling.

“If that happens, it will create a big debt towards the demon race. Talking to the demon lord. I can’t say anything definite, but I don’t think it will end in a simple manner. Will the hegemony of this world continue in the hands of the Goddess and hyumans, or will it be plundered by the demon race? We might even have to participate in that conflict. If I had to speak my ideal scenario, it may be naïve, but it would be to hold a connection with the demon race while continuing business with the hyumans. But depending on the situation, I don’t know what would happen” (Makoto)

I bring a world map from the shelf and spread it on the desk. And then, I place a hand on the location Tomoe pointed out before.

“This was the place right, Tomoe?” (Makoto)

“Yes. That’s the place” (Tomoe)

“The previously associated country of Elysion, Kaleneon. The place is around Yamagata prefecture and Tsukiyama huh” (Makoto)

The place that will provide Asora with the four seasons.

And also the place that is deeply connected with the two hyumans I met.

“Yamagata?” (Tomoe)

“Nothing. Just pointless rambling. What’s important is what I said before that. It’s a country named Kaleneon. That place… seems to be the native country of my parents” (Makoto)

“?!”

“My parents met there, and after that, they became adventurers, traveled, and transferred to my world. In other words, to me, it is also my home in a sense. Of course, that has nothing to do with the four seasons, so it is fine to ignore that point for now” (Makoto)

I have no emotional attachment at all anyways.

If possible, I would be happy to obtain even a little bit of information of my parents, but it is a country that has fallen to ruin.

The demon race probably knows more information of Kaleneon.

If they didn’t turn everything into ash when they invaded that is.

“But Waka-sama, if I remember correctly, Kaleneon is the place the librarian Eva and Gotetsu’s Ruria…” (Shiki)

As if remembering something, Shiki says the name of the Ansland sisters.

“That’s right. The birthplace of those girls. That’s why I had each of them decide something. If both of them accept, I…” (Makoto)

I tell the three of them what I was thinking.

That’s my last resort.

It may be a foolish thought that can’t even be called resort though.

But…

“Fu… fufufu. Isn’t that interesting, Waka?” (Tomoe)

“Right. Depending on how it is done, it might even become a card to solve our current problem” (Shiki)

“If it’s something Waka-sama has decided, I don’t have any objections. Also, I think it is stupid to not use the strength we have and just worry” (Mio)

My family accepted it.

In that case, as Kuzunoha Company’s Raidou, and also, as the third one to descend to this world…

Well, the two heroes are in the hyuman side, so it should be fine for one to be behind-the-scenes on the demon race side right, bug Goddess?

  1. I didn’t get, so Makoto “told” his secret transportation method, will be pushed out from the market AND will be paying 90% of his (Hyuman) profit?
What if he won’t pay it? I mean it is not like anything worse can happen.

    1. I think what happened was something like this: The representative stated that people want Makoto to reveal his transportation method and its details. Makoto wanted to resolve it with money, which the representative countered with the fact that the bribe would be 90% of sales(estimation) and he would still need to tell the rep himself the method so that the guild will acknowledge it.

The 90% is to keep the other companies from using the method.

      1. Thank you for your answer. That’s how I understood it too. But the method revealed is total bullshit so it’s not like anyone can use it anyway. And since Kuzunoha have to move to “another market” due to the Merchant guild influence there should be no reason to pay.

  2. About the “Raidou breaks”, he could just do business directly with the heads of the major powers and others countries’as they want to be in touch with him), and his business wouldn’t need any interraction with the merchant guild(or, after some times, even push some strings to eject the dumbass who talked to him like a jerk…)…

  3. Aww.. Even though It’s 3 chapters at once, i still not satisfied and want to read the continuation even faster..
Well, can’t be too unreasonable.. Since I know this translating job is really..really tiring..
Now i wonder how Makoto will solve all issues..
There’s no way he will suddenly leave his students, i mean Shiki just informed them that after the festival, they gonna enter the next phase of the training after all.. I think his time in Rostgard is still a bit prolong to the future..
I wonder what he asked to the Kaleneon Noble Sister that need them to think over it without sleeping.. Something like accompany him to the meeting with the demon lord regarding the rise of the Kaleneon using Demon Camp Connection maybe..?
And I totally blind at how he will resolve his trouble with Merchant guild but judging from Mio’s last comment, it definitely has something to do with abusing their abnormal power.. Their connection isn’t that much yet after all..
Also about how he will deal the representatives of all major power of hyuman countries… How will he rejecting them all… He totally failed at handling the Lorel’s representative before after all..
Haa… So much mystery to solve…

  4. For people that thinks that the demon camp are the evil side of this story, remember that the bug goddess favors the hyumans, and all other races are left at the disadvantage side. I think makoto going to the demon side is good so we could hear the demon camp side

  5. Wow amazing to see how popular this is! I was searching the most popular posts on wordpress and I got brought right here 🙂

Great looking blog and looks like you have a great community around it!

    -TSP

  6. Thanks for the fast chapter. Just a question Reigo-san, will you be translating the next two chapters or skipping them? (Would be more specific, but I don’t want to spoil anything cos of the chapter titles)

  7. Yes nice .. for all who was just falsely blaming him to be with demon side to just hamper his buisness it will be a awesome shock 😛

  8. I really dont understand all this… The guild guy say strength is useless in buisness ? The hell with that : Makoto controls all the production line of his products and cannot be threathened on it. He doesn’t have transport ways and thus his cargo cannot be targeted. His rivals can’t obstruct his buisness since they can’t win on the quality and the cost of the products and even if they try to use their wealth to buy all his stuff before the usual buyers well Makoto set a limit of objects by person so… He is untouchable on the economic and buisness aspect : As he doesn’t really need the guild, he can leave it as well : He has already its adventurer fanbase and thus even with the restrictions he can sell to a steady amount of people and then it will slowly grow from rumors. If the guild use the politics to force him to stop then… Suprise ! He can use his own strength to deal with it : A Lime/Mio/Tomoe surprise in the lord chamber at night with light threats and it’s done ! Who said strength isn’t usefull in buisness ? Owned dude ! And then now who can stop him to trade with demons as well ?

    1. You’re right to be confused. That guy, even if he didn’t know Raidou the adventurer’s real strength, he did know enough about Raidou the merchant to be wary. That he wasn’t means he’s probably too used to people doing as he says, because he has the guild’s authority behind him.

As for Makoto running a business without the Merchant Guild’s blessing, that may not be possible. Guild’s are essentially monopolies that have great influence in terms of laws relevant to their trade, and maybe also the authority to enforce those laws.

If you don’t have permission from the guild to run a store, they can have it seized, and even put you in jail, or at least slap a huge fine on you. There’s no way Makoto could go against that, without outright resorting to physical violence and crushing the guild. Which would mark him an enemy of the state (all the hyuman states, since the guild is everywhere).

He could still sell to people directly, but it would mean he’d have to be the one to approach them, which would be a lot of trouble.

      Anyway…

What the representative was referring to was physical strength and strength in magic, and the reason he called them useless in business is because he was using the average adventurer-turned-merchant as a basis.

It’s true that someone like that wouldn’t be able to use their strength to accomplish anything meaningful, because any successful merchant would be able to afford to hire enough bodyguards to counter such an adventurer.

The representative simply cannot imagine that Makoto is not an average adventurer, with more strength than any country, which he could use to crush any puny merchant before breakfast. They probably underestimate his strength based on his looks (and might even have learned he’s only level 1, if Root didn’t interfere), and because most of Kuzunoha’s employees are demi-hyumans, which most hyumans are prejudiced against and automatically consider inferior.

I do agree that the representative is a fool. Since he’s a representative of the Merchant Guild (and by how the meeting was describe, it’s an important position), he should be more pragmatic about this whole thing.

So the noob merchant Raidou has access to teleportation on a scale that allows him to restock every day, and he can apparently still turn a profit despite his ridiculously low prices, which suggest he’s likely in control of the entire supply chain, and a very efficient one at that.

Yeah, let’s be a d*** and antagonize him from the start. Burn that bridge like there’s no tomorrow, because people respond well to that kind of treatment. After all, it’s not like being a merchant is about forming connections. /s

I honestly don’t know if the representative actually believed that Raidou would accept any of the ridiculous “offers”, but if he did, then I have to wonder how he got the position in the first place. He’s like an elephant in a china shop. No subtlety or finesse. No speaking between the lines, or vague statements that could mean anything.

He didn’t even try to become Raidou’s “friend”, and use that false sense of trust to pump Raidou for information. It was more along the lines of a highway robbery, actually.

      1. The merchant rep is not only astupid in going in straight instead of using subtlety.
He is also wrong about adventurers strength being useless as a merchant.
One of the easiest ways to get rid of competition is to simply make sure they have no merchandice.
Hits into warehouses, torching down storefronts, ambushing shipments…

Dedicated, competent adventuring team with even fairly basic knowledge of their target could utterly mess up a merchants business (or atleast considerably increase their expenses due to increased protection).

      2. I was under the impression that the offers he gave Raidou weren’t really offers so much as warnings and realistic advice(under the assumption that Raidou didn’t have the power of a calamity because that’s common sense) though.
Most of what he said were factual: “These people suspect you and are making these accusations”, “We need to confirm your transportation method”, “Bribing is a bad idea, because it’s big companies that want to know and it would cost you 90%”, “You should close down your store and go get Rembrant to mentor you more”, “You should go sell in markets where these big companies won’t bother you, to demihumans”.

He was rude because he found Makoto’s approach to be too naive and lack a merchant’s discretion(like with how direct the bribe was or revealing a lie moments after making it), but otherwise he was giving the best objective advice he thought would be best for Raidou at that point.

      3. I agree with the position that what the Vice-Head said was, objectively, little more than sound advice and objective observations cloaked in a mask of racism, anger, and contempt. Including the part about “I’m actually treating you nicer than I would normally, because Rembrandt is backing you.”

I would disagree that he did it out of any good will however. I see it as more of a case of sometimes you can be more honest with someone you dislike than someone you like. And he probably really dislikes the way Raidou’s handled his business. (Not trying to make connections, choosing to ignore other store keepers, doing things without worrying about consequences, automatically assuming money will solve all his problems, etc.)

The cruelest insults are the ones that reflect reality, and in this case that would be regarding Raidou’s naivete and unknowing reliance on Rembrandt’s power.

Even Rembrandt admitted that had Raidou not been the one to save his family, he would have taken similar actions.

I do think it was foolish of the Vice-Head to not try and make lasting connections with Raidou, but I think of it like this: he probably sees it the same way we might react if an NBA team put Kobe Bryant’s son on the court today. We KNOW the kid will be incredible when he grows up, but he has no place in a professional arena until that time and after he’s put in the requisite hard work. And the anger might come from if the kid seemed to seriously think he was on par with the adult players.

      4. No, there was absolutely no good will behind his advice.

Most of that was probably as a favor to Rembrant and the rest was him looking down on Makoto due to misevaluation.

      5. I feel like you put this very well. He certainly was dismissive and heavy-handed in laying into Makoto. Then again he may be confident given the level of those lodging the complaints, and then reacting to Makoto’s clear ineptitude at how he handled the beginning of the conversation. He may have begun the conversation with the thought that Makoto was a hidden gem, but he ended it with the solid idea that he was a guppy in the shark tank.

And Makoto for his part did nothing to indicate otherwise. Fission Mailed?

  9. Wow, first(?) post to have over 300 comments!

Well, I don’t think Makoto will simply leave the hyumans side. He made that proposition to Eva and Ruria even before the tournament. And he also said “behind the scenes”… so he should definitely keep his Merchant front in Rotsgard!

  10. >“Waka-sama is not in the wrong!” (Mio)
    waka did nothing wrong XD
    ——
it finally come, makoto got spanked.
apart from all the shits he did, the root of everything is none of them have enough knowledge or experience on commerce. the only relation he got was rambrant because of luck, and he didn’t try to meet the other marchands in academy town.
I don’t think he can recover from that situation without closing his shop, learn how to manage it, and restart from zero. or maybe hiring a competent human manager.
even if you take out the shop, they worked on the teaching, asora’s managing and recruting of new people. too much thing they weren’t skilled enough, and forgot the shop.

he should either abandon all his marchand thing, or learn everything from rambrant.
if he got to the demon side, and try again, the odds are high that he will get fucked even harder, the demons are probably better schemers than humans.

I expect that he will not resolve everything by pure violence. it would be boring.

    1. *comes out from the shadows wearing a black hood*

Welcome to the F5 Sect Holy Ground, brother of ours…kukukukuku…

  11. “Well, the two heroes are in the hyuman side, so it should be fine for one to be behind-the-scenes on the demon race side right, bug Goddess?”, WELL FUCK HYUMANS! GJ XD

  12. GJ On the translation Reigokai
I have read a bit more and I can say:

I guess this is not a spoil
You have my respect on translating Tomoe and Lime talks
If you liked the Raidou Breaks you willl love when he do the Rona promisse (by the way this is not a title)

  13. midoyashii this promisse c-122
“(Ara, it might have been a short time, but they are acquaintances that took the same class as me. If that’s the case, I will push myself the most I can. The payment will be meeting the demon lord once, how about it?) (Rona)”

  14. ohh sry nvm you are meaning
“Well, the two heroes are in the hyuman side, so it should be fine for one to be behind-the-scenes on the demon race side right, bug Goddess?”

my opinion is: he is to much OP to side with some 1
But the merchants are not helping

  15. That representative said was true but he made a big mistake more than Raidou.
    He misjudge Raidou.
He think Raidou is merchant who has only rambrant backup.
He think Raidou has moderate adventure employee.
He not interested in tournaments because the day he choose to call.
    He is not investor.
He choose make enemy with readers and calamity .

maybe he was selected by age and power not personality.

  16. I highly doubt Raidou will completely go over the Demon Race side reason being: In a chapter before the tournament Rona hinted on doing something major in Rotsgard. She knows that Hyuman leaders are attending the festival. She’s either planning assassinations or chaos by proxy.

Whichever it is sooner or later Raidou will find out and he will most likely just take back the land he wants from them by force.

  17. Been reading this almost a week from chapter 1.. and finally reach the latest chapter.

Thank you for doing this. I couldn’t wait for the manga update.

  18. i read this chap over and over lately… makoto is adorable in this chapter <3

a family really is important specially when away from the real one…

my thoughts for what's coming: rebuild kaleneon, the two sisters will manage it… rebuild the company… accessible to demons mostly…

question: what will happen to his class promise?

  19. I just realized something important, since kuzunoha has an all heal medicine and Io has super regenative power it will all come down to stamina endurance, but they have energy drink as well, isnt that already favorable to hyumans?

And all those favourable things that have happened to the hyuman side like the heroes changing, getting new equipment and all the sort of things are thanks to kuzunoha and his aides.
Wouldnt it be nice for makoto to changing sides to demon and him showing his aides besides him their siding with the demons. Thus the hyumans, heroes, leaders, adventurers etc. seeing them makoto’s subordinates siding to demons, wouldnt it feels like its the end of the world already?

  20. the compare and contrast between tateyuu’s atlas and this novel’s mio is just so incredible here

even though they’d both follow their masters to the ends of the world, makoto actually recognizes that he has a responsibility towards his followers to not drag them down with him despite having been so immature and so angry just a couple chapters ago

    so much growth ;_;

  21. I kinda want Raido to be neutral though I wish he does and doesn’t join the demons and makes his own faction the demons have pretty much been acting the same it’s just he had more interactions with hyumans and the demons have a better idea of his strength than the hyumans

    1. Another thing people here keep saying hyumans doing this hyumans doing that to Raido but from what I have read it’s not the whole hyumans, in fact the leaders seem to know now Raido is a valuable asset just unable to contact him now other than the merchants and a noble the rest aren’t doing anything to him

    1. I know right!

      *Clint Eastwood’s voice*

      Reigokai… release chapter 130 tonight… or I’ll KISS YOU…!

      XDDDDDD

  22. Its good to know that Makoto realizes that he made a few mistakes. The meeting with the rep have really opened his eyes. But it looks like he has has forgotten about the supply chain aspect of the business. But them again at least least he know he made a few mistakes. Hopefully he does not make the same mistakes with the demons if he goes. Such as having very high quality products at dirty cheap prices. Do the thing was he was pretending to be a merchant and running a business wasn’t his actually goal. So he need to start really trying or just stop. But obvious he is going to continues since nothing in this chapter clued into him stopping.

I like that Makoto was worried about Mio falling because of him.

Looking back at that meeting. Makoto as the merchant Raidou was too naive which frustrated the representative. Who probably did like him already to being with.

If Makoto goes to Demon side. I think it will be after the festival and after the summer.

I am surprised there was a chapter release when there was a double release on monday. I was expecting the release of chapter 129

  23. In Tsige it was different, but in Rotsgard I don’t have any backing.

Damn shit, he could just create himself a backing by making everyone think he have some great backing. Just send his followers in his enemies house, threat them, give them a warning and make them keep it secret. At least it should be the minimum and instead of it he just let people put poison, send assassins, sais many insults to him, threat him and at the end he just sais “i’ll reveal everything! I give you money! Please spare me!”-like sentences. F*ck it!

  24. Reading all this reminds me of the movie ‘The Dark Knight’. So basically in the movie Batman glorified the righteous Henry and defeated all gangsters in Gotham so one-sidedly, making them too desperate and had to rely on the infamous madman, Joker. It shows that whenever you show too much power, you become a common enemy of many people and they won’t pull the stops in beating you just because of morality or law.

  25. This Chapter Sooothe my bleeding heart due to raidou break chapter earlier.

Grinning to read what’s about to happens next.

  26. Mio is just the best for evaa
“Nothing. Just pointless rambling” That’s the secret of the current world you idiot Makoto!

  27. With this I think that a comment some previous chapter was correct and Makoto will create his own nation/major power, at least make it public because Asora is already his kindom.

  28. Well, to be honest, what he has been doing till now is dumb:
    – hyumans side with the Goddess, discriminate against demi-humans, judge him for his appearance and he can’t even properly talk with them.
    – demons fight against the Goddess, have no problems with demi-humans, he can properly talk with them and i don’t think they care much about his face.

It should be obvious where he should be trying to make business, right?
