Chapter 129: Kuzunoha’s meeting

Translator: Hey guys, a translator talk here 🙂

The moment I translated the ‘Raidou breaks’ chapter, I was sure it would explode. I was actually looking forward to what would happen and you guys definitely didn’t let me down.

All your comments were awesome. The majority were actually constructive opinions and views in different angles. Of course there will be bashing towards Makoto, and they were all interesting as well. Makoto was struck with the truth after all. We all knew he was messing up as a merchant, but for the repercussion to come in such a… realistic manner. It was pretty surprising.

I honestly loved that chapter, and the reactions towards it make me love this community even more.

Keep it up guys. You are my motivation!

In the time when Princess Lily was troubled in stepping to action regarding Jin and the others…

At a section of the audience, two girls wearing clothes that remarkably stand out were sighing.

Raidou- Makoto’s followers, Tomoe and Mio.

The other follower, Shiki, was babysitting the students, so he was doing separate actions.

“How boring~. When there’s this much difference in power, it isn’t a fight but a show-ja na” (Tomoe)

“That’s why I was saying so since yesterday, wasn’t I? If they were not Waka-sama’s students, I wouldn’t even be here watching-desu wa” (Mio)

“If they were our students like with Shiki, we would be able to enjoy it in a different way but… Mio, what is that bizarre inflated bag-ja?” (Tomoe)

“What you ask, it is the specialty products of booths here and there-desu wa” (Mio)

“It is an answer, and yet it isn’t. No, what I am asking is about the amount-ja yo” (Tomoe)

At the side of Tomoe there’s Mio and further after, there’s several big light brown paper bags. Seeing that, she asks with enmity.

Mio’s answer was nonchalant, and she tells her that it is all food.

But what Tomoe wanted to know, is just as she said, the amount of it.

In the seats that are supposed to be fully occupied, one of them is being totally occupied.

To protect her honor, Mio explains that this is originally the seat of Makoto and because he can’t come, she is just utilizing it in an effective way.

In no way did she put all that food because she doesn’t want anyone else to come sit there.

“I will eat it all by the time we return, so don’t mind it. If you want me to share some with you, just say it honestly okay?” (Mio)

“I don’t need any. I feel like it might give me a heartburn” (Tomoe)

“Hmph, if this were alcohol, you would take it without doubt” (Mio)

The two of them leisurely watch the team battles unfolding in the stage while doing trivial talk.

There were no matches that were worth watching, and even in the matches with Jin and the others, the opponent was so weak it wasn’t fun.

Moreover, their master Makoto was not there.

Watching those matches earnestly might be something hard to do for these two girls.

“At this rate, I can’t expect much from tomorrow’s semifinal and finals. Well, we will be able to sit along with Waka, so that’s fine” (Tomoe)

“Same-desu wa. If I am together with Waka-sama, the place doesn’t matter” (Mio)

“Fumu, it seems it is done already-ja na. Mu” (Tomoe)

Tomoe and Mio notice something at the same time.

“Mio, Waka is calling-ja. We are going back” (Tomoe)

“I know already-desu wa. It seems he is slightly dispirited, so let’s hurry” (Mio)

Receiving a thought transmission from their master, Tomoe and Mio both nod and get up from their sits.

A short and straightforward thought transmission.

‘I have something I want to consult about, so I want you to return to the company’, is what he said.

A tone with no vigor.

While holding worry in their chest, they meet up with Shiki and return to the company.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

“For the time being, it is fine to kill that representative-desu wa ne?” (Mio)

“Mio, the talk has not finished yet. Calm down first” (Tomoe)

“What stupid thing are you saying? I am completely calm-desu wa. Can’t you see that I clearly understand what I should do?” (Mio)

“That’s why I am telling you to wait for now. The talk has not finished yet-ja. Wait for a bit” (Tomoe)

“Such abusive language towards Waka-sama… abusive language… it wasn’t such a lukewarm level-desu wa ne? How should I kill him?” (Mio)

“Mio. I am telling you to hear what that very Waka has to say until the end-ja” (Tomoe)

After I finished telling the outline of what happened, Mio stood up and tried to leave the room.

I didn’t have the vitality to stop her immediately, so Tomoe took my place and inhibited Mio.

Even I could tell that Tomoe was looking at me with fainthearted eyes.

N?

Inhibited was it?

I feel like she didn’t stop her…

“As I thought, one of us should have gone as well”

It’s Shiki.

In terms of result, it is just as he said.

It might have been better if I had one of them accompany me.

If I had one of my followers with me, I felt like they would resolve it with strength. I thought that if that happened, then it would be pointless.

The first time Rembrandt-san met Tomoe, he was left completely speechless and was pretty withered.

I wanted to know the extent of the ill will the other merchants held towards me.

In the past, when I met Rembrandt-san the first time to give him the Ruby-eye’s eyes, it went well, so I thought maybe I would be able to hold my conversation if the other party was a merchant.

The context matched when I associated with Rembrandt-san, so even with the matter of Tomoe’s level, I think I would have been able to manage it properly. But this time, the representative was someone I had no connection with.

I didn’t want to prepare something like intimidation in our first meeting.

That naïve way of thinking led to this.

I was pushed into an unreasonable situation, made a fool of, and returned like a loser.

“Sorry for saying something like wanting to go alone” (Makoto)

“If one of us were with you, there’s the chance that place would have turned into a sea of blood, so not everything is bad. Don’t mind it that much” (Tomoe)

“Waka-sama is not in the wrong!” (Mio)

Tomoe tries to comfort me and Mio interposes with a rebuttal.

No, no matter how you think about it, the way I dealt with it was bad.

“Now that I think about it, not a single one of us has knowledge in business. We all began as novices. There might have been more ways to deal with it if we were introduced by Rembrandt-shi and taught the basics” (Shiki)

Not might. That’s what we should have done.

Before that, there’s the problem that even when I myself began a company just recently, I still went and did things here and there, neglecting the business.

And in truth, the company still did well.

No, that’s how it looked.

That’s why it brought upon more negligence.

It may be this late of a time to do so, but I have to reflect on it.

“Shiki, even you! Why does Waka-sama have to feel down?! In the first place, Waka-sama was displeased by the shortage of medicines that can’t reach the hands of the people and were easily losing their life, so he aspired to spread medicines, right?! Why does he have to learn how to act around those merchants to not be resented?! He is doing something that’s good for everyone, and yet, why?! Isn’t this ridiculous?!” (Mio)

The words of Mio that were trying to cover for me no matter what, were grinding at my heart.

That’s right.

I wanted to sell medicine in order for everyone to have an easy way of reaching out to it.

For that reason, I wanted to do business widely without minding which country it was.

Because of circumstances, we also handle various miscellaneous goods as well, but those are just extras.

Doing something good.

Because I had that thinking in a part of me, maybe that’s why I only looked at the people I was selling to.

Not doing anything excessive with the price because of people of the same trade, the counter-plans I did for the copies and resale; those were the only things I thought of.

And in truth, even the price might be questionable. We collected everything ourselves, had the people needed for the compounding, and left it to a point where we would barely escape deficit.

That is… within the range?

That’s probably not it.

Since the time the people made a rude comment of my demi-human employees, I haven’t gone to the meetings of the merchants in the area.

Lately, Akua, Eris and the eldwa craftsmen have grown more accustomed to socializing with hyumans. But, even so, it was most likely an error to not relate with the merchants around.

Ignoring association must have made the impression of Kuzunoha Company even more ominous.

Even if I have good intentions, a business is a business.

There will obviously be competition.

There will be people who would want to eliminate the ones who have the same target of customers, and if you do something that stands out, the big companies will place an eye on you.

I didn’t make a method to cope with it when something like that happened, and have continued until this day.

As expected, I can’t order to eliminate them just because they have kept an eye on us after all.

In Tsige it was different, but in Rotsgard I don’t have any backing.

In other words, I was defenseless.

“Mio, that’s just idealistic talk. It isn’t just distributing. As long as we are doing a business, these kind of things happen. I won’t say Waka has done nothing wrong, but I have to admit we were somewhat defenseless” (Tomoe)

“… I hold the same opinion. Of course, it is true that I should have acted in a better way. I have no excuse” (Shiki)

“!!! There’s something wrong with you guys! Even though Waka-sama is the absolute rule! The stupid ones are the merchants that are only looking at the near future!” (Mio)

Mio would most likely stand by my side no matter what happens.

Even if I were to turn into a fiend, even if I were to become the enemy of the whole world, she would still be willing to fall to the same place as I am.

That’s why I have to put myself together.

If she falls so far, that’s all my responsibility.

As if persuading myself, I try to kill the unfair anger that’s inside me.

At the very least, I don’t think this is something that is fine to solve with just violence.

The existence of Mio who is willing to give her everything for me, prevented my current unstable emotions from rampaging.

“… Waka. That representative said things that are difficult to forgive, but he also said good things. How about it? I think that since we have the chance, there’s also the option of giving up on hyumans and opening a store in the villages of demi-humans” (Tomoe)

“Serving only demi-humans?” (Makoto)

“Yes. If you wish to, we can also serve demonic beasts and mamonos. Also, Waka told me, that you wanted the four seasons. I don’t think Waka likes conflict, so you probably intent to have a relationship with the demon race in order to secure that place right? Then, I think it should be fine to do business with them. Continuing business in the hyuman society and having our hearts crushed, it would only create more weight in Waka, and I don’t think that’s a good idea” (Tomoe)

“The demon race publicly hates hyumans, but they are generous towards other races. I think the proposal of Tomoe-dono is worth considering” (Shiki)

“I… don’t understand complicated stuff. But I don’t think there’s a need for Waka-sama to be under people that just want to take advantage of Waka-sama’s kindness” (Mio)

Kindness huh.

Maybe I was looking at it that way in some part of me.

And, maybe the people around saw it that way as well.

“I…” (Makoto)

“Waka, please tell us what you are currently thinking. If Waka so wishes, we will fight with whoever. Also… we will lower our heads to whoever you wish us to” (Tomoe)

Mio and Shiki nod at Tomoe’s words.

Right. There’s no need to hide anything from them.

They are my family in this world after all.

“… Just like I promised to Tomoe, I plan on having a connection with the demon race. After a conversation with one of the demon generals, I promised a meeting with the Demon Lord. It will be after the school festival is over, but I intent to meet with the Demon Lord and ask it to let me take over or borrow one location where Tomoe says the four seasons are in” (Makoto)

I resolve myself and tell the three what I was thinking.

Tomoe nods with a joyful look and glittering eyes.

Shiki looks like he consents. He silently nods with his eyes closed.

Mio simply accepted my words and was smiling.

“If that happens, it will create a big debt towards the demon race. Talking to the demon lord. I can’t say anything definite, but I don’t think it will end in a simple manner. Will the hegemony of this world continue in the hands of the Goddess and hyumans, or will it be plundered by the demon race? We might even have to participate in that conflict. If I had to speak my ideal scenario, it may be naïve, but it would be to hold a connection with the demon race while continuing business with the hyumans. But depending on the situation, I don’t know what would happen” (Makoto)

I bring a world map from the shelf and spread it on the desk. And then, I place a hand on the location Tomoe pointed out before.

“This was the place right, Tomoe?” (Makoto)

“Yes. That’s the place” (Tomoe)

“The previously associated country of Elysion, Kaleneon. The place is around Yamagata prefecture and Tsukiyama huh” (Makoto)

The place that will provide Asora with the four seasons.

And also the place that is deeply connected with the two hyumans I met.

“Yamagata?” (Tomoe)

“Nothing. Just pointless rambling. What’s important is what I said before that. It’s a country named Kaleneon. That place… seems to be the native country of my parents” (Makoto)

“?!”

“My parents met there, and after that, they became adventurers, traveled, and transferred to my world. In other words, to me, it is also my home in a sense. Of course, that has nothing to do with the four seasons, so it is fine to ignore that point for now” (Makoto)

I have no emotional attachment at all anyways.

If possible, I would be happy to obtain even a little bit of information of my parents, but it is a country that has fallen to ruin.

The demon race probably knows more information of Kaleneon.

If they didn’t turn everything into ash when they invaded that is.

“But Waka-sama, if I remember correctly, Kaleneon is the place the librarian Eva and Gotetsu’s Ruria…” (Shiki)

As if remembering something, Shiki says the name of the Ansland sisters.

“That’s right. The birthplace of those girls. That’s why I had each of them decide something. If both of them accept, I…” (Makoto)

I tell the three of them what I was thinking.

That’s my last resort.

It may be a foolish thought that can’t even be called resort though.

But…

“Fu… fufufu. Isn’t that interesting, Waka?” (Tomoe)

“Right. Depending on how it is done, it might even become a card to solve our current problem” (Shiki)

“If it’s something Waka-sama has decided, I don’t have any objections. Also, I think it is stupid to not use the strength we have and just worry” (Mio)

My family accepted it.

In that case, as Kuzunoha Company’s Raidou, and also, as the third one to descend to this world…

Well, the two heroes are in the hyuman side, so it should be fine for one to be behind-the-scenes on the demon race side right, bug Goddess?

    1. Imma now do this kinda thing.

Be close to fist as possible and be completely random.

Also, does anyone know what to do when you can’t change your WordPress password? I don’t get the email when I request it.

    2. Makoto be like … if hyuman dont want me might aswell do business with demon , demonic beast , demi human and mamonos ..

The leader and kings of hyuman why Raidou is left .. who is the reason for this

representative merchant welp .. i bite more than i can chew (greedy hyuman you just lost an asset)

I like this chapter cant wait to imagine there faces when i read the next chap

~ 1 2 3 merchant guild will be begging for him to come back hahaha

    3. Right after having finally caught up I must say thank you Reigokai for translating all of this! You are, and forever will be a legend in my mind.

      1. I love you! Please translate more!
Is this how it work? No? What work you say? To speed up Reigokai senpai translation pace! If not then I’ll wait patiently like usual.
Ah much appreciated for all these chapters. Sorry I rarely leaving comment but hey, at least I’m doing it.

    1. Yeah but I would like to see those merchants try something dirty to upset or cause him to have this resolve especially if it was a betrayal of the deal from the goddesses church people… Hehehe it would be interesting to see his powers unleash.
Oh the red hero is not the hero but retribution on the goddess and all those in that world!

    2. All the while the bug gave him the ability to talk to mamono so I was expecting him to make a connection with the demon race sooner or later

Unless the demon lord challenges him to a fight xD

      1. That depend he told that he will be moving behind scenes so he maybe will not tell to his students about it. if he tell to them Sif Yuno Amelia and maybe Misura wil go with them.

    1. We have cookies and DETROIT METAL CITY………………I mean tetrapot melon shana……..i mean pan
Its the 3:33 am and i have to wake up early tomorrow/today……worth it

  1. Another chapter after the dual release and discussion explosion? Oh, Regokai. You’re too kind. ^o^

I loved the explosion of comments for the past two chapters as well. Good to know it motivates you, because it leaves me hungry for more of both.

  2. Yes! Go over to the demons!

I wonder what will all those important humans do when they learn that it’s the merchant guild is the reason that such an important and powerful person went over to the demons

      1. That only makes sense to you since the original meaning has most likely been lost in translation. I haven’t read the raws, but I’m guessing that the Demon race is read as ‘majin’ while Makoto was given the name ‘Akuma’. If I’m right, then it should be noted that while both terms may evoke the same image to some people, they are two very different words.

    1. thought i would prefer makoto not joining any side and just go with his nickname the devil who doesnt care about the demon race, the hyumans, and the goddes one that is willing to destroy the world there living in and maybe maybe become the symbol of peace or i guess hate so that all race will join hands to defeat him which is kinda sad

  3. I still think that Makoto should just ask Tomoe to see the memories of the merchant guild master and find out whoever wants his company to go down. At least deal out some punishment before leaving. Makoto doesn’t seem to realize that Asora is pretty much the strongest world power. Specially with the addition of Root, his contacts and information network.

    1. I’m sitting here wondering what will happen to his students and his connection with the Rembrandts, and then I get to thinking… what if Rona is responsible for the merchant antagonism? What if she’s playing him and manipulating his direction towards where she wants him to go? She has a plan in motion, right? Maybe that’s part of it?

  4. “What’s the use of power if you can’t do what you want with them” – forgot where I got this

Raido declaration to side with the demon is so satisfying~

I wonder how far will he take it (close the store and migrate? how about his students and Rembrandt?)

    Anyway, I love it!

Thank you so much for the (super speed) translations!!!

    1. so after Firo you showed up hum… wonder who else god bored of shildverse and decide to see other universes, i thought i saw a Raphtalia a while ago, but i am not sure if it was a fake~

  5. whoa~
expected him to be all neutral towards both sides, Hyumans and demons. didn’t expect him to be behind-the-scenes for the demon sides

  6. *^* was always rereading 127~128 xD and hoping 129 (and hopefully 130 xD) would come out, and it did it really did!!!!!

cuz I was pretty frustrated with chap 127… huehuehue (I go with the decision of Mio! Kill em all!)

  7. I still cant come up with a suggestion that would require the girls to keep it a secret from each other… But the only thing I can think of is that Makoto requested that the city he wants from the demons be some kind of neutral zone or Demon/Hyuman coop. And if they want to go back to their hometown, they have to accept that. just cant think of why it would require secrecy, unless he is asking them to accompany him to the meeting with the demon lord. Whom he is planning on visiting in 2 days.

Hmmm~ Probably also asking or telling her he will be establishing his Store HQ at that town. Or… his store will exclusive be open in that town which is neutral and humans and demons can freely enter and shop at.

      1. No, well… maybe at first. but what I mean is, what kind of request could he have made to the sisters that would require them to keep it a secret from each other. It seems more like a test of some kind… but I just cant think of anything that would make sense

  8. Thanks for the meachinegun speed releases, don’t burn yourself out ok ?
A few more ‘decals'(funny mistranslations from when I “read” the raws),

    Birth canal
    customer that it is potatoes.
    MYOB
    your three-way
    place duck entrance
    Potatoes, that unspeakable.
There is not believe it’s Bitch
    Serious Bookshelf

      1. I listen to the Japanese TTS (can’t read it) too many hours of anime (not that there is ever enough anyway) has put me in a really strange spot, so I just find most of them funny.

ps, my decals are not necessarily from this chapter, my list is kinda randomized ~40 left for future chapters, but still not read the latest two (raws), the TTS voice is . . . monotone(?) ^^

  9. Well, at least he is mature enough to acknowledge his weakness.

And he really go to demon race side!? I don’t know if it’s a good idea or not, but it looks like he is running away from the problem to me. But it’s still interesting development though!

    1. He definitely is running away but he can’t resolve it currently without going overboard so it really is a good decision for now..

  10. What a fast translation!

BTW Makoto… The reason you were attacked was not just because they were simply petty Hyuman, they are merchants. If economy and trading exist in Demon society and you do the same to them, there would be demon merchants attacking you too.

What you should do was just as you said before that, learn about business from Rembrandt. And build connections.

    And your pricing is…

You were excessive with the price, very very much so.

Like Makoto said “And in truth, even the price might be questionable. We collected everything ourselves, had the people needed for the compounding, and left it to a point where we would barely escape deficit.”

Yep, you skipped the whole supply chain, reducing your manufacturing cost to the extreme point where people cannot compete. Minimum procurement cost since you produce them yourself from start to finish, no transportation cost. And each of your employee which should have cost fortune to hire somehow can be hired with far lower price and somehow very loyal and cannot be brought by your competitors.

You can reduced your cost even further a megacorp that own the whole supply chain. At least that megacorp has to pay for transportation and compete to hire skilled personnel.

Your manufacturing cost is lower than other company can realistically achieve even with that manufacturing cost, you set the price at the point where you ‘barely escape defict’.

That is very ‘excessive with the price’. To the point that of course others would call it aggressive pricing.

And like someone said somewhere, what Raidou did was not ‘business’. He tried to make it a charity.

    1. He’d most likely end as a third power at this point, due to the merchant on both side harassing him. Seriously if he adds more people to Asora it could get big enough to create its own community which could become a new country that might be strong enough to oppose both side.

      1. Isn’t Asora pretty much an OP country already? I mean, the only thing Asora lacks as a country is recognition of independence (since they don’t show themselves) He can oppose both sides. Hell, give those sides 4x advantage and Asora will still win. Both military and economy.

Asora relies on no import. It is completely self sufficient and yet at the same time, it is also a developer / manufacturer of high technology (high quality magic items).

And weakest citizen of his is what? High orc or something from the wasteland?

        Too OP.

      2. Correction. Asora isn’t a country. It’s a world. Actually, it’s a universe.
I’m not sure if there’s a way to place Asora town in the hyuman world and stake a claim though.

      3. Just make a gate to some vacant land and build a town there, done. You don’t need to have the whole country out in the real world, just some connection to the Asora is enough.

But honestly though, Asora does not need a town in this world. Just a place of contact like embassies are more than enough.

      4. They are also slightly lacking people. They barely count as a small city even with the new arrivals.

they are after all only about 6 small villages that moved in together. (orcs, eldowas, Lizards, ogres, wings and medusa, as sprites are still pending. )

As a city, it’s still on the small side, at most barely scratching the 3-4 k population mark. It might be able to count as a city state, but it is still lacking inhabitants. (not that they would lose any military engagement)

  11. Will he create a country with his parent city as center and support demon race from the back? Personally, I want him to to terminate all the business in academy city and move to place in demon territory while also declare that his reason for doing so is because of the merchant guild. Then, after the merchant guild got thrash by hyuman super power, start selling things again somewhere else with all item that merchant guild sell but with higher quality and lower price. He might as well take control of that new group that started worshiping his devil image too since they seems to already stop discriminate other races.

    1. The thing is is that if they demon race can use tactics and plan things out like regular humans then wouldn’t that mean they are no different and look down on him? It’d be the same thing again but this time Raidou might say fuck lets destroy these idiots

    2. Could see Rona suggesting the demon lord to propose this deal. give him the land to produce his own neutral country where all are welcome, and he can sell his stuff to everyone. Discrimination and violence doe to racial reasons banned on pain of being turned into Mio feed. NO ONE is allowed to use his land as a rout of invasion, or mio eats them.

The demon side would have to give up a small amount of land, for gaining Makoto level supplies for their military. throw in a non aggression pact from one of the most frightening beings they have ever seen, and it’s a decent trade

The human side would probably have to create a teleportation array for moving into the country (as the demons probably isn’t to keen on free passage trough their country) but even that could be a fairly good businesses deal. or possibly make another golden corridor highway thingy, and make makoto/asura pay for it

      1. Then shouldn’t they just give Makoto strategically valuable territory and turn him into a roadblock? They get the prosperity from the land through Makoto and absolute security on top of that.

Honestly, demons should be jumping in joy.

        1. they should, if they fully trust him, and is willing to bet their countries saftey to another country. They might also want to use that strategic land for them self in further invasions.

It’s more likley and practical to give him a semi important piece of land, where they both need the guard, but don’t immediately cause a crisis if an enemy invades from (for example, they might have their old pree war fortress on their side of the border)

  12. Reigokai is in his post-growth moments lol. Thanks for the speedy chapter.

And now, Makoto is showing his intent to go against the hyumans behind the scenes, as a third party not affiliated with the demonkind. He certainly got the power to do so, would be great to see the hyumans get crushed lol. Fucking hyumans trampling on Makoto’s kindness. They asked for it.

My guess is, makoto is going to strike a deal with demonlord to take control of kaleneon, ascend Eva as queen, and make the country as his base behind the scenes.

    1. What I found funny was his final comments of “two heroes supporting hyumans, it’s fine if I help demons from the background right, bug?”

      1. As if the Heroes are his equals.
      2. As if he wanted bug’s permission.

    1. THOUGHT!

      THE “T” IS IMPORTANT

Sorry, but that was just the third time I saw that mistake today…

    2. never thot it was impossible… just not likely to happen. I mean, he could easily release 182 chapters in one day, just means we would need to wait a year-ish for them.

      1. lol. interesting idea for a translator. pick a project, translate like 100 chapters and let that all be your first release. no tip toeing into the story, just one big jump

  13. THANK YOU FOR THE CHAPTER! Sou-sama must be a translating god! No, you are the powerful Tsukuyomi-sama of translations!

    About the story:
Makoto seems to have realized his own immaturity somewhat, and I really want to see how he starts working with the demon lord. Hopefully he’ll become a lot more competent; the meeting with the merchant rep is kinda like the time he got beaten on the battlefield by Lancer and the dragon slayer. Makoto will probably undergo some sort of “training” and return better than ever.

    THANKS AGAIN, SOU-SAMA!

    1. Sou-sama is short for Gochisou-sama. It’s my nickname for you. Oops, forgot to tell you that, it’s because your chapters are always so satisfying…
      \(o~~~o)/

  14. The hyumans made a fatal mistake. The demons are not idiots. They see a resource and will exploit it. If the MC starts selling potions to the demons, they will try to convince him to produce more probably by giving him the land of his parents as a gift (likely run by the two sisters in his stead).

Even if he doesn’t, the fact that high ranked demons will have items that recover their strength to a much greater extent than normal, means that the hyuman armies will be killed at increasing rates. By the time the idiots realise the consequences of handing over a key element of winning the war to the opposite side, it will be a LOL moment.

The only thing that will save them is the MC’s lack of desire to wipe out the hyumans, partly based on positive interactions with some people like the people of Tsige, his students, remberant and also likely affected by seeing Lime learn to turn over a new leaf.

Probably the hyumans will be beat down to the point that only Hinata is preventing collapse before her and Makoto broker some sort of deal forced onto both parties. The wildcard is the goddess though as the hyumans will likely hold out until she agrees.

    1. Actually, I feel like the biggest thing holding Makoto back is that he doesn’t actually want to start a war against the Bug Goddess even though he has a grudge against her.

      Well…not yet at least.

  15. So.. they are going to leave just like that? Without even rampaging or tell everyone the reason they leave?

I wish he told everyone, especially the king and that princess, so they all could blame that merchant guild.

Also i want to know what will happen to his students.

  16. “If it’s something Waka-sama has decided, I don’t have any objections. Also, I think it is stupid to not use the strength we have and just worry” (Mio)

    this…
    sometimes Mio said something wise,
you have the power, so use it,, don’t hide it too much
don’t become to meek and weak

    well lesson learnt
after battle with killing a hyuman
    then failure in bussiness
Raido seems grow more likely, it’s nice pace

    1. Huh. I wonder how many of them may be willing to defect from the hyuman side to follow Makoto? Probably not that many, but somehow it doesn’t seem impossible either.

    2. What if Makoto becomes a pipe-line between their father company and the demon army? He doesn’t hold nobles in such high esteem so it might be possible.

  17. and I was hoping for him as a third force.. well for him to be on the demon side, well sorry hyumans, the god has proclaimed your demise… please direct your anger to Limia’s hopelace and the merchant guild.. have a wonderful day thank you

  18. Oh i wanna see a plot where in stella fort, makoto is hiding around the mountains 200 meters. Then he sees the hyuman making formation, he then casted like the one he did on the dragon slayer and the brat. Little did they know its the same devil who nukes the matha fck out of them. But since he trained a bit more, instead of a lake he have made a water country lolx

Wonder how that bug gonna watch that then see makoto give him the finger lolx

  19. After Makoto listed off everything I could only think “no wonder they want you out of town your fing things up”. He was undercutting everyone on everything forcing people out of business. Helping people ha in a year or two he would have destroyed the middle class. Since he wasn’t hiring hyumans more and more people would have started to lose there jobs. Will he would have had more people buying his goods because of that can’t really blame them for wanting him out.

    1. This is a medieval country. 90% of people are employed as farmers. The standard town might have 1 merchant, and the biggest ones might have 20-30. He doesn’t sell daily commodities, mainly selling luxuries. There are probably only like 3-5 people engaged in similar things. The main luxury of nobility is jewelry, which he doesn’t sell, so we’re probably at 2-3 competitors.

He isn’t going to cause an economical collapse because the economy isn’t as tightly bound as it is in the information age. We’re looking at effectively third world countries here.

    2. He’s competing against others with products they don’t actually sell … because he got a monopoly on all those super high-grade items due to securing the supply (well … the company itself is the manufacturer itself, so … ) … and the influental merchants are pissed because he isn’t willing to hand those valuable secrets out to them for free so that they can make lots and lots of money out of it (and whatever effort Makoto’s company invested thus far) to fill their pockets, thereby making them even richer … that’s why they were trying to use their influence (using the merchant guild’s authority as well as their connection with other corrupt people of sufficient influence) to suppress Makoto as long as he isn’t willing to fullfill their demands … typical mafia behaviour.

  20. If Makoto will migrate to the demon side, what will happen to his students, Rembrandt-shi and his work. If he leaves, he won’t be able to learn new things anymore. But I’m sure the demon side has lots and lots of demon mage teachers anyway so what the heck…

  21. I rarelly write a comment. However i think i reserve it. Tnks for ir translation. I love how makoto is growing a not at each chapter.

  22. Alright b*ches, Spoiler-san is back! Before I start, Thank you Reigo-senpai for another amazing translation.

I’m going to lay down some things due to some of the comments I have read. Makoto isn’t going to become the Hero of the demons’ side. However, he will do something impossible to both impresses and earns their fear. Then again, he’s just too OP. This however is in the far future, so I’m sure most of you will forget this when he finally meets the demon king.

As for the representative, trust me when I say he’s going to give him a reason to back off. Just like with the Demon King, I’m not telling what exactly happens. All I can say is that Makoto is going to back him into a corner without threats of any kind. No use guessing, I’m not going to tell you if you’re right or wrong.

Now if you all will excuse Spoiler-san… *grabs an Rocket Launcher* I gotta give Truck-kun a reason to back off myself.

    1. Guys, Spoiler-san has an announcement to make. First of all, it’s not any more spoilers for this story. Spoiler-san is going to do the following changes:

      1. Spoiler-san is no longer going to try to get first for Firo or throw people under Bus-kun for not reserving. Now on Spoiler-san is going to try to take first for himself.

      2. Spoiler-san is no longer going to deny people’s theories. The reason Spoiler-san doesn’t spoil some things is to give birth to new theories. So basically saying, Spoiler-san is going to no longer be a hypocrite.

      3. Spoiler-san will try to tone down a little more on the spoilers. I realized that I mentioned something that should had been kept secret.

As for why Spoiler-san is going through these changes, he’s leaving that up to your imagination. Spoiler-san isn’t spoiling this one. And no, it’s not Truck-kun.

        1. Spoiler-san didn’t say anything about stopping the spoilers in general. Spoiler-san is just going to tone it down a bit. And thank you for noticing the sacrifice that Spoiler-san makes.

  23. He’s finally going to the demon race! it took a while but i’m glad.
They should put out fliers on why the company is pulling out the hyuman cities before they go though.

    thanks for the chapter!

  24. Wow, 3 chapters in two days? You’re an awesome machine, Rei.
Yeah, we’re going to the demon world, where all the fun stuff happens. I’m expecting the negotiations to go smoothly.

Makoto: “I want to sell cheap medicine and delicious food at this location.”
Demon Lord: “Okay, make sure you get along with the locals. How many acres do you want?”

    1. If Maou-san is wise enough, I’m expecting he’ll do everything in his power to make life as comfortable for Makoto as possible.
Free pass to see him whenever he needs something, a demon general at his beck and call, access to his network of spies on foreign intelligence.

  25. I want to read these comments but every page down I see “spoiler-san, spoiler-san, spoiler-san” everywhere. I just wanted to read some comments, and it’s in a third of the reply chains arrrrg!

Forget it. I’ll just wait for updates. Thanks for the chapter, looking forward to seeing how this all turns out.

    1. I don’t know why this spoiler guy gets me so worked up and bent out of shape in general.
I’m perfectly fine with other web novels I read, but it’s only spoilers in this one that bug the everloving shit out of me.

  26. finally he is going to the demon side!
I also like how makoto also do mistakes like a real human unlike some other superhuman protagonists
since he is just a begginer as a merchant and all
connections really is somthing you need in any field, business, or politics
since he didn’t take an action there in the hyumans side after rembrant ofcourse that will happen
but that is a different matter
I want to see the face of the merchants representative after he learns the consequences of what he has done
when the two countries learns that their only salvation was thrown out like that
the doom of hyumanity has come uahahahaaha

    welp joke aside
I am glad to learn that we are also your reason for the fast release
    I really love this series
it is my favorite web novel second to MT
I am just a leecher since i don’t have much money i so i am glad to know our comments contributes to your motivation
thank you for the translating this as always

  27. Really thanks for the chapter, there’s many question……really makoto act like a brat?Seems the war come fast…..and probably the chance to kill Hibiki o see it killed from the demon race growt much……a new time to grow inside for Makoto if this arise.Makoto don’t let your feelings to guide you if you dont want suffer more and more ^_^ search a negotiate to Hyumans and demons for peace and collaboration, this was really a Big crush on the Bug Goddess!

    1. hibiki? she’s a hero worth enough to respect. tomoki, on the other hand, deserves another name: “trashmoki”.
but yeah i’d love tto see a battle royale between superpowers. Makoto Tomoe Mio Shiki, Demon lord + underlings, cockroach + trash, Hibiki.

      where’s my popcorn??

      1. The part about Hibiki being worth of respect is debatable. She has an aura similar to Tomoki’s eyes that makes people respect her so she’s not that different from Tomoki, and I feel the Bug gave her the best position seems she favors women in general.

      2. The aura Hibiki seems to give out is something she has always had. She had it on Earth before being summoned as well. On Earth she was the top of the school and able to do anything she tried, not to mention her family ties being people of power. One of the reasons she gave the Goddess the ok was that she was fairly bored on Earth with everything going her way and was looking for new challenges.

Hibiki is just one of those very charismatic people you come across at times, one that people will naturally want to follow. Would have to go back and check if the Goddess gave her a boost at all but if she was given anything it was probably more in the physical strength side.

      3. The Goddess enhanced her physical strength and gave her strong magic power, on top of that she gave her the charisma to attract other people and conferred her a sacred treasure. (Chapter 30)
It’s true that she is someone charismatic and capable but the Bug enhanced those attributes to abnormal levels, it’s the same with Tomoki he was attractive to the girls and bullied for that.
What I’m trying to say is that if both heroes summon points were reversed we might have witnessed a similar evolution of the those two.

  28. Did Makoto just… simply decide to join the demons already? Ooohhh I can just imagine his students being like the hyuman heroes and then finding the true final boss to be their teacher.
    “You… You killed our teacher!”
“No, *removes mask* I am your teacher!”
Thanks for the chapter by the way!

    1. I actually find it really sad that the students might have to say goodbye to their precious Raidou-sensei. Especially after they’ve earned qualifications to assist teaching other students.

I hope they either stay in touch, or we at least get to see a heartfelt farewell where Makoto drops all pretenses of strictness and congratulates them all kindly.

      1. He could always invite them to join Asora, like Lime did. He could definitely use more hymans there – ones that are not blinded by the bug.

In fact, he should do it regardless of whether he’s staying or leaving, and at least 3 of his students will definitely accept it (Rembrandt girls because of Raidou and Amelia because of Shiki), the others are also very likely.

      2. There is the possibility that the student follow Raidou to make a new country, getting stronger than the heroes and demon race. Just as I hope

  29. Thanks for the chapter!
While closing the store he should go public with why he had to shut down. Kill the currupt in a straight punch. Deliver a hook to the Guild representative. Thanks Guild’s gonna tumble down. Hehehehehehe #evillaughter
After all a loss of goods and merchandise will be a blow to the Guild and the countries no matter how small. This won’t affect Kuzunoha Company much as long as they go public with “Guild trying to frame us, loot us and trying deprive poor citizen off of the medicine and equipment.”
    Hahahahahahahahaha!

  30. *Finished reading the chapter*
    *Remembers Something Important*
*Reads the Title of the Volume*

    HOLY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU–!!

A puppet country that provides stealth backing to the demons?
Gonna impress the Demon King by making another lake?
Completely Disappear from the hyuman grid, without leaving anything behind?
Meeting with the Royalties and Heroes?
More Death and Rebirth to overpower the BUG(Bitch Ugly Goddess)?

    So many questions!~

Welp, can we call this a BIG or small character development for Makoto? Anyways, If he’s gonna provide his goods and services to the Demon Race, the hyumans are as good as f*cked.

Hm, just to be safe, he should provide items to safeguard Rembrandt Company, his 7 students and his associates in Tsige in case he decides to go nuclear on everyone else’s ass. Or just invite them to Asora.

Fine, the rest of the “good” hyumans can join in.

BUT I WANT BLOOD TO BE SPILLED, DAMMIT!!! >:D

      1. It’s not racist. It’s a fact! Hyumans are not humans. They’re just flawed copies! Even their name is a typo. 😛

      2. The main difference of the Hyumans and Humans is in their physical power and the way they were brought up. From 2-3 years of age they are given the ability to speak and interact with others and are taught that they are the only blessed race and that the rest are to be used and discarded or are nothing more then animals. Anything that does not conform to the standard is worthless and its perfectly fine to get rid of it. Fellow Hyumans are meant to be exploited and used to the limit, with death not being a deterrent.

The exceptions are the ones that have mostly thrown off the Goddess Churchs teachings and can accept that others have value. In this Amelia is actually not much different from the rest of the rabble that makes up the Hyumans as she still thinks only on looks and value, with looks being of top importance, although she has some respect for Raidous power she is only interested in Shiki who has power and beauty. The sisters were not really raised in the Churches teachings and the curse disease removed their hangup on appearence. Jin seems to repect anyone with ability and ther others seem to lean his way as well.

        1. Actually, on that topic…can someone confirm Makoto’s origins for me? Things got confusing over time.

From what I understand: Makoto’s parents traveled to Earth and managed to survive there with the blessing of the goddess(does that make them graunts incidentally?). Their two daughters were born beautiful and thus were similarly given goddess’s blessings and grew up healthy. On top of that, Oneechan was born with greater blessings due to her parents’ bodies not adjusting to Earth yet(possibly being conceived in the old world) while Imouto was born after her parents adjusted, so she got to grow up nice and healthy.

Makoto was born in the transitionary period between these two with neither a hyuman’s affinity with the goddess nor a human’s strong body so he grew up a frail child. For some reason, he was also born with a more normal face, and thus didn’t get the goddess’s blessing either. Altogether, he had the roughest environment growing up and became a bit of a monster when he miraculously survived. The reason for his face is….bad luck? Or maybe his mom had an affair with a human?

      3. @Psychronia: You have it mostly right with the exception of the 2nd daughter. She was born after the Goddesses blessing had faded but her parents bodies had adjusted so she ended up mostly normal human in ability. Her appearence is just genetic result of 2 beautiful people having a child. The elder sister was born when the parents still had most of the Goddesss blessing and gained enough of it to survive without much trouble. Makoto was born after the blessing had faded but before his parents had fully adjusted so he ended up weak to just about everything, his appearance is probably just a genetic throwback to an ancestor. A lot of people have put forth the affair theory but there is no evidence of it, she was quite happy with her husband, and if he was not the full child of the two the Goddess would have noticed when she checked. She could not believe that he was the child of the 2 because of his looks and if he had been the product of an affair the Goddess would have likely made a fuss about that.

The Goddess normally has no access to Earth so she is unable to bless anything there, the enviroment also seems to block most of a gods blessing making it even more impossible.

The manga showed just how weak Makoto was btw, among the problems he had growing up were:
He broke bones when he tried to learn Judo.
When he first went to learn archery he actually managed to cut himself on the bow string trying to draw it. He was too weak to pull back a childs strength bow and trying to do so cut him enough that he was bleeding a fair amount. He spend a lot of time building his strength up with basic training before he got to the point he is at now.

      4. @IamMe: Well, I’m not sure if it would count as evidence, but hyumans seem perfectly fine with polygamy after all. Makoto’s parents could be in a perfectly happy marriage while still seeing other people due to culture clash.

To chalk Makoto’s appearance off as unlucky genetics seems…bizarre.

      5. They might be fine with polygamy but the defaut seems to be many wives for one husband, not many husbands. There is no mention of another mother figure and it would probably have been mentioned. The wives past the 1st and 2nd seem to be more of trophy status and are not expected to be part of the close relationship, it’s why all the proposals to Raidou were for position 3+.

I would also have expected the Goddess to have rejected him and demanded one of the daughters if he was not the child of both of the transferees, I would expect the Bug to go for any loophole she could to get her hands on something pretty. She checked his lineage though and found that he was their child and so had to accept him as proper payment for their debt to her, even if she didn’t want him.

  31. Finally he notice his naive thoughts, i really wanted to someone bash reality to his face just so makoto will grow up.

    1. You know, people always say naive this or that about protagonists and are often glad when they shape up.

But if you think about it, losing naivete is a very tragic thing. It marks hitting the brick wall of reality for the first time and having to compromise child-like ideals. More importantly, it treats things as if “the world was meant to be this way” while cutting out “the world shouldn’t be this way”.

Anyone know a decent web novel where the MC preserves idealism with wisdom somehow?

      1. It’s perfectky possible to be both idealistic and competent … idealism and naivete aren’t the same.

Naivete is often only a specific form of ignorance while idealism doesn’t necessarily includes ignorance in and itself but is about how things are ought to be from the point of view of the person holding those ideals. That point of view might be naive due to the ignorance of the person in question due to specific circumstances, but becoming aware of one’s own ignorance in regard to those circumstances is exactly what allows those “ideals” to grow into even more “ideal” forms.

      2. I’ll check out the disciple story.

Death march doesn’t count. Satou gets to keep everything without having to balance anything because of his cheat skills. It does not count.

      3. Well said Schattenbach.

Idealism without wisdom and competence is naivete. The goal shouldn’t accepting the “real world” with a cynical realism so much as it should be the “ideal idealism” you described.
My point is that people-more tragic when it’s authors-often mistake growing out of naivete with removing idealism.
Like here, Makoto was naive, and this is a wake-up call to lose that. But there’s a difference between not bothering to distribute his miracle medicine to hyumans anymore(which is essentially giving up on hyumans) and trying again more wisely(with countermeasures in place). People are celebrating Makoto embracing his dark side, but I’m hoping for the latter to happen instead.

  32. Seriously what i say was a joking….. dont tell me he really ask them to be his queen and 2nd…… but makoto as a 3rd power or a demon side would be fun. Now if only the student would sing. I will follow u song

  33. Fuvk yeah ~ !! i love it…. finally Demon Country ~ !!!
i’ve seen enough the rotten side of “Humans” from this and others novel… its rare to see from Demon POV ~

  34. Has anyone noticed how the Kuzunoha meeting actually covered a large variety of “Raidou Breaks” comments?

Mio represents the guys who just want Makoto to rampage and turn things into a sea of blood, Shiki represents the honest and realistic analysis on their past mistakes, Tomoe represents the people speculating future events with a hint of draconic wrath, Makoto himself represents his bashers and people who hope that he’ll mature from the experience.

All in all, I’m proud of both Makoto for his mature response(partly in thanks to the entirely devoted Mio) and the author for creating and dealing with this issue so realistically. Honestly, even though nothing concrete has happened yet, this has definitely washed out the bad taste chapter 127 left in its entirety. The only thing that could have made this better is if Makoto finally tells his followers that he views them as family(though I almost feel like they’ll get a yandere-style power boost from it).

Expecting a lot of things from his move to Demon country!

      1. Wait, what? He did?
I only remember him thinking about asking them if they wanted to take the Misumi name, but deciding it was too embarrassing to say out loud.

  35. i seriously doubt the MC will disappear without a single trace……he may still leave the sub-store in tsige as it is, though i am just hyped and interested in what will happen to the students during and after the finals of the team tournament….i am also interested in what is the question which will make ansland sister that aggitated which will also solve the MC’s problem…..

btw: as i am very hyped about the finals…..THANKS FOR THE QUICK CHAPTER ^_^

  36. Nice, Raidou with the demons! For now we didn’t see a lot of good things from the hyuman side, especially from the nobles and royalties. We don’t know if the demons are any better, but it’s worth trying. And it would piss off the goddess, which is great :).

  37. Question about the Asora Gates.

    1. Who among The Kuzunoha Company can make/open them?
    2. Does it show itself continuously or is it on default cloaking mode until someone uses it?
    3. If you destroy a gate in the world’s side, will the gate in Asora disappear as well?
    4. If Number 2 is the latter, who can detect it?
    5. How strong are the gates?

    Speculations, GO!!!~

    1. 1. Makoto and Tomoe. i don’t know if i’m wrong but only 2 of them can open gates to and fro asora. asora is basically Tomoe’s original skill, further developed and strengthened by Makoto via their master-slave relationship and Makoto’s power so if one doesn’t have a direct link to the skill like Makoto he can’t open those gates.
      2. correct me if i’m wrong, those gates are cloaked, but can be moved. i forget which chapters but there were 3 adventurers snuck into asora and ran away from it. Makoto killed them though.
      3. no proof. but since gates can be made easily and seemingly unlimited number can be generated it does not matter, does it?
      4. visual confirmation can be verified (refers to answer #2) when a gate opens. so basically everyone can detect it when opened, but even a god cannot detect a closed gate. at least up until this chapter.
      5. unconfirmed. assuming the gates’ properties being hyperdimensional and a skill of one of the strongest dragons and her mighty master, only those equal to them can damage the gates.

      1. 1. Makoto, Mio, Shiki, Tomoe < they all can open the gate. (only shiki still practice)
        2. Nope. Makoto bring them to asora because they are hurt from mamonos, and they are running away from asora because they thinking makoto up rising army with demi-human ( tomoe loli also can open the gate )
        3. Only the member pact can open the gate ( Makoto= Leader Mio= Servant, Shiki = Servant Tomoe = Servant including her skill mist )
        4. No, The gate can be seen by other people but makoto always make sure they (tomoe, mio, shiki) to close the gate after come inside asora (remember the gate also inflict season to asora)
        5. If goddess cant detect it, how can a mere dragons can destroy it? (well its bad putting "a mere dragon" )

    2. the most definite durability of the gates comes from the moment the 3 people who sneak to asora where makoto kill them with powerfull magic and the gates survive makotos brid once destroy a gate as big as 12 meters (pixel calculation on manga) based on this you need atleast a 0,0003 megaton bombs and don’t forget that the gate also survived an attack that tomoe said even dragon can’t defense (though many of this is from manga so it maybe not accurate)

      1. @Foyx: That wasn’t a mist gate, that was just a simple shrine gate. The mist gates just appear to be mist, nothing more. Before she made the contract with Makoto her gates led to a simple void where Shin could control everything, she only used it to pull people into and beweildr them. They didn’t lead anywhere so they were not left open after she finished with her enemy. When Makoto destroyed that gate he did the equivalent of walking up to Shins home and knocking on the front door hard enough to blow it off its hindges.

        As for the questions:
        1. Tomoe, Mio, Shiki, Makoto, Komoe (How dare all of you forget Komoe)

        2. There are 3 stages for the mist gates. Open, Closed, and Sealed. Open gates are freely usable or are currently in use. Closed gates are not usable but they still have a presence if you have the senses or magic to sense them. Sealed gates are completely closed and leave nothing behind. If you want a gate where a sealed one is you need to make another, closed gates have the potential to be reopened if you have enough power and knowledge or luck.

        3. Not clear as no one has tried to destroy one, its likely that it would vanish in Asora as well.

        4. People that can open the gates can probably sense Closed gates. Its possible that others with power or knowledge could pick them up as well, would suspect that Root could sense them even if s/he can’t open them normally.

        5. Depends what you mean by “Strong”. Tomoe is able to make a gate large enough to consume a village and move the entire thing to Asora so its possible that very large gates could be made. (Raido might be able to erase cities if he felt like it). If you mean to external attacks then its impossible to tell as no one knows of them besides the ones using them, they are very careful to hide the existance of the gates as they don’t want the Goddess to come snooping.

      2. alright after re-read the entire novel it’s turns out that i’m wrong sorry because when the gate survived raido attack he actually just close it and in the future there are this line
        *SPOILER*
“it’s really can’t be helped that raido is the descendant of the great pope of the church and the similarity is actually quite spot-on”

and then “if it was raido of course he can forcefully re-open sealed doors though it takes time and concentration and even i (the i is secret for another time 😉 ) is going have pretty much half of my power just to re-open the sealed door

“hey of course waka-sama is amazing heck his power is so strong he accidently made a lake with his water version of brid”
        *SPOILER*

and the ‘I’ the feat that i could find is actually destroying a quarter of mountain with it is quarter power so aparently destroying asora gate is REALLY FREKING HARD heck the one that can destroy a quarter of power even had a hard time just to change the state of sealed to close
        also
the apparently asora gate can be only detected by anyone who had a power, knowlegde, luck as apparently when sealed the gate is “like moving around the world so you almost cannot detect it”

SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH (I”M NOT AN ENGLISH PLEASE UNDERSTAND

  38. …well, is he really a 16 years old? considering how fast he reflected on his faults and made resolutions on future plans based on the very recent happenings (i doubt it happened more than 2 hours after his defeat), not to mention he didn’t sulk or blame anyone else like how “average” 16 years old should be.

anyways at long last the battle against the goddess will begin. took too long to get to this point, really. the first hateful moments was at the goddess’ absurd whimsical shits, then he just brushed it off like it was really not a big deal. Makoto, no matter how kind you are, if you’re wronged without reason you have the right to retaliate. at least, now, he unleashed his wish to oppose the goddess.

thanks a lot for the chapter!

    1. You have 3 person here,, and they are your family.
They will do anything you say, be it kill someone or kneel to someone else (not you)
What will you do? do you still want rampage ? knowing consequence about it? or you want make them happy without kill someone like a human do.
we know that makoto still have a human side inside him. like how he treat mio, shiki, tomoe, and other races.

    2. Point, he is currently 17 or so. I Think he was 16 when he arrived but its been over a year since then.

About the reflecting, he went into the meeting with the intent to learn what others impression of him was. He already had a fairly good idea and probably expected much of what he was told. He purposfully didn’t bring any of his followers and has erased his own presence to appear as weak as possible, this resulted in the other side looking down on him a great deal and saying exactly what he was feeling without feeling a need to conceal anything. He didn’t think Raido was a threat so the guy said everything he was thinking, if Makoto had brought any of his followers they would have gone from “He has fairly strong followers” to “He is in control of something that can level the city” and the Merchant Rep would have changed the way he spoke and acted to be much more humble.

Makoto was depressed because the attitude and such of the others were much more negative then he was expecting. It made him realize that he had made several missteps though, most of them were forseeable if he had thought about them a little but he was busy training his students and studying everything he could about the world and magic. Since the only merchant he had much interaction with was Rembrant and he considers Makoto a savior of his family his interaction with Makoto was always positive or lowkey. Didn’t help that the Rembrant Women often told Makoto to ignore him. Unfortunately Makoto left Tsuie without really learning anything about buisness from Rembrant, this meeting made many things clear about how the merchants behave.

  39. I still don’t get it how he lost. So they knew he was using some secret method for goods transportation. It’s called a trade secret. You want to know it, pay ME money!
I’ve been going back and forth with one guy on 127, and the only thing that came up was slander of cooperation with demons and human paranoia.

    1. Being compensated for sharing knowledge is the decent approach, but those guys aren’t exactly decent.

They didn’t approach Makoto to try and work out a deal that will benefit them both (they could offer to pay him to transport stuff for them). They didn’t even come to him and warn him that what he’s doing is upsetting a lot of people/the balance, and he should be careful of consequences.

Instead they just outright try to destroy him, while also trying to steal whatever they can.

Despite their “outrage” at his (supposed) dealings with the demon race, they’re quick to mention that they’re willing to look the other way if he pays them enough, so they don’t even have a high moral ground to stand on.

If they really believed that he’s dealing with the demons, they’d contact the Church and other authorities instead of the Merchant Guild. It would have been a more efficient approach for them.

I think it’s amusing how the Church, an organization representing the bug, is a lot more decent than the Merchant Guild, an organization that one would expect to be more pragmatic and level-headed in how they handle stuff.

      1. I understand this part completely. And the merchants are in for the profit, be it the nice way or not so nice. But he still can come out and say to the representative, since he obviously knows, that there is a secret method and that’s it. It’s just me putting myself in that situation and examining the info available to makoto, but I wouldn’t back down, since they can’t hurt him. The world the author built is so that with perseverance makoto could push through, no killing, no sneaking, just out right tiding through this whole mess. Not exactly plot armour, but almost. Slander is bad, more so when it’s about cooperation with demons, but he has patrons, and eventually it would work out.

    2. A fairly large part of the problem Makoto had in 127 was that he couldn’t speak the language. This resulted in the Rep being able to easily control the flow of the conversation. To respond to anything that was said to him with any kind of thought required him to spend the time thinking about how he was going to respond then construct the words using magic. While he is doing that the other side is reading his mood and predicting what he is going to say and responded to him before he could complete his magical letters.

If you want to see another example of someone controlling the conversation while Makoto is trying to write what he wants to say go back and read his first meal with Rona. She was completely dominating the conversation and had complete control until Makoto got fed up with it and just started talking with her in Demonic, at that point he gained even ground and was able to eventually gain control with unexpected knowledge. In 127 he couldn’t speak to the guy in anything close to a reasonable speed and was unable to gain level ground and ended up being talked down ot the entire time.

For an experiment try having a conversation with someone where they speak and you type and see how well it goes. You will find that the one speaking will be spending a lot of time waiting for you to type out what you want to say and will be able to predict what you are saying when you are only partially done. If you arn’t a touch typist it will get even worst.

      1. And that makes him lose how? It’s tough being led around by the nose in a conversation, and Makoto really doesn’t know how to break the tempo. But that doesn’t mean anything. If comparing it to a fight it’s like being unable to move and being hit constantly, but not taking any damage since your defense is high. You’re not wining for sure, but there’s no way to lose.

      2. Not that I said he lost, but if you consider the conversation with the Rep he lost because he was lead around by the nose and was unable to advance any of his thoughts in the conversation. The Rep got everything he wanted out of the encounter and Raido got nothing but a scolding. Raidou did gain a lot of information he had wanted to learn (The attitude of the other merchants) but he was unable to advance any of his ideas or thoughts.

He had gone there to try and learn what the issue was and if he could do anything about it, he learned what the issue was but was unable to negotiate at all about how to deal with it. The other side dictated everything.

      3. The think about the conversation with Roan, its that Raido know Rona’s secret at the time. Furthermore I think the conversation was one that he could have resolved with brute force. If the conversation went south he could have just fought her. Plus Shiki also caught her off guard.

  40. Thanks 4 the chapter!

He should tell the world leader that he has been ordered to take his business out of hyuman lands, to demi humans and demon lands unless he pay 90%of his profit to the guild!
See how the leaders will react.

  41. “For the time being, it is fine to kill that representative-desu wa ne?”

Most ppl’s thoughts summed up right here.

Also yay for being sick! Get to read stuff while bedridden.

  42. the good and evil sides in this novel are very blurry
in a way the humans are just trying to get back the land they lost, but they’re racists and stole that land in the first place, but Limia’s hero is good and the king likes her a lot and seems like a nice guy
the empire is very clearly defined evil
the demons are trying to get back the land that was once stolen from them but at the same time want to wipe out all humankind

    thanks for the chapter

    1. I don’t think that the demons want to wipe out the hyumans entirely, they just want to get rid of the goddess. But so long as the hyumans exist, they won’t be able to.

    2. it is explained that the first demon lord is killed by goddesses representative (supposedly) and the demon lord (the descendant of the first demon lord) want to kill goddesses for that they tried to find a way to reach it and the only clue about goddesses is the previos existance (mio, tomoe, etc) and than they tried to co-operate with human and human thinks they wanted to get their revenge
so basically hyuman is goddesses bitch that egoistic
and demon race the one that want to kill goddesses is the actually the one who is pretty smart about their move
goddesses is a psychopatch bitch that only want hyuman to live their

so that is THE MOST COMPRESSED STORY of ISEKAI TENSEI (but it may be wrong as this is just my theory from reading ahead 2-3 chapter)

  43. I kinda want him to go full Metal Gear Solid on their asses and start up a mercenary company. He has the ability to stand up to almost anyone, and he’s proven adept at training others into effective fighters.

  44. I am really quite touched on how much makoto view his families through the chaps. Look at how much he care for mio, how he is responsible for her and her future. It is due to this that he was able to stomach his anger and bitterness to look for a way to solve the situation. It comes full circle, with his followers willing to throw everything yet be there for him, and how makoto care about the future and wellbeing of his followers.

  45. I just don’t get the fact he was afraid of being accused of working with demo, yet he willingly accept the propositio to meet demon lord. The best way is to screw every single person dare to take advantage of him, make his way to create new country that accept everyone without discrimination, and having control of power so that bug goddess didn’t even dare.

He got a magic power bigger than even the goddess yet afraid of puny humans.
Better be ready when Raidou strikes back

  46. I think Makoto could conquer the world without attacking either of the two sides.

He just needs to create his own nation that accepts anyone, be they hyuman, demi-hyuman, or demon. Then while the two sides wage war on each other, those that are tired of the war would just migrate to Makoto’s nation.

He has the strength to win any battle, so he can afford to remain on the defensive at all times. Both sides would learn that lesson quickly and would leave him alone, because they would have no other choice.

Eventually, too few people would remain on both sides and they’d collapse.

      1. He’s not willing to bring everyone into Asora. He puts everyone through a vetting process to make sure they’ll fit in.

This would be a nation that anyone could come to, and would be known to all.

Asora will likely remain a secret for a long time, or at least until after he deals with the bug.

      2. “He’s not willing to bring everyone into Asora.”

        if so;
“those that are tired of the war would just migrate to Makoto’s world, Asora.”

“He puts everyone through a vetting process to make sure they’ll fit in.”

        else if;
“Asora, would be a nation that anyone could come to, and would be known to all.”

forgive my laziness but my phone is acting up tonight, so I just quoted you, since you addressed the process yourself already. You mentioned filtering, so either method is put ibto action, he’s already not going to accept everyone.

        1. I don’t know if it’s me misunderstanding you, or the other way around. Anyway…

The nation I mentioned would be a separate entity to Asora. It would be land in the same world that the hyuman and demon nations already exist, except it would be under Makoto’s rule, instead of those other parties.

Asora would still be there, but where he would continue to be very discriminating in whom he accepts into Asora, that nation would be open to anyone.

  47. Oh~~ Makoto declare war to the bug….
Now I am getting impatient. What the hell is he want them to decide.

  48. The hyumans are stupid. Antagonize someone who provide better advanced pharmaceutical products… they don’t think of what could happen when he or she turn yo your enemies making them stronger? It’s a case of having eyes and not seeing mount Tai. About the neutral zone, I don’t think it’s feasible becquse of the level of stupidity of the hyumans who would attack anyway because they would be prompted by the church to do so or some other country who realize that a dangerous company side with the demons.
Hahaha, I qant to see what happens when the limia and princess Lily get told what happened with the merchant guild.

  49. MWAHAHAHAHAH! That’s right, Makoto, go for it!

It’s good to see Makoto reflecting on his actions until now, and on what the merc. rep. said. I hope for some improvement on that front!

I like how Tomoe always prioritizes Makoto’s heart’s well being.

Even so, his ressentment towards the Bug is spreading towards hyumans in general… good, good, the dark side is Strong in this one! XDDDDDDD Well, a race influenced by that bitch will certainly look down on him by default. Whether by WN general tendencies or by simple logic, joining the demon side was unavoidable from the very start! That stupid Bug dug her own grave…

    1. Oh, no! I was so happy I forgot something ESSENCIAL!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, REIGOKAI! I thought I would be fretting another day over this! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

    2. You know, I kind of wonder.

Between the demon race and hyuman race, which is closer to humans?
Hyumans aside, the Bug goddess seems to have inadvertently created the sort of environment humans evolved in for demons.
Complete lack of a god’s blessings, a barren homeland that’s difficult to grow and cultivate in, a need to polish one’s wisdom just to survive…

      1. Hmmm… in terms of biology, hyumans. In terms of culture and not being dumb, demons for sure LOL

        1. No, biologically too, I find it questionable.

Outwardly, I suppose so(though hyuman beauty is also kind of unnatural). But we need to set humans’s strength to scale in this world-that is, heroes like Trashmoki(Hibiki is too excellent and Makoto is kind of frail normally). Humans in this world would, as a standard, be several times stronger and have better physical specs overall. When you compare to hyumans…

  51. I find it slightly amusing that he would always go on about trying to prevent things from existing but then when he gets hit in the face with how naive he is. He breaks down.

If he has the resolve to prevent other countries from doing things that he dislikes why doesn’t just do the easiest thing and just kill the representative?

I mean he is basically already a Crime Boss, no matter what he thinks.

    *waiting for hate*

      1. I never said it was the best or smartest thing to do.

        He fucked up.

Should have killed him right away, and so the guild would fear him.

Easiest thing to do. Not the best or most peaceful.

But that’s what I expect from him at this point.

      2. I think what @Psy meant was, what would it accomplish other than scaring the guild? will it change how the merchants/nobles that complained about his store see him?

the Representative is only “still” a representative of the Merchant Guild. He’s replaceable. Makoto said it’s misplaced “anger”. It should be the merchants who is antagonizinh his store that be culled not the representative that is only doing his job. At least that’s my opinion.

    1. You have been reading to many Wuxia novels killing everyone and striking fear into the hearts of everyone isn’t exactly how the world goes round, at the heart of it, it does but if some random no body comes in gets insulted and kills a representative it doesn’t strike fear into their hearts its strikes anger and the need for retaliation.

Obviously you have said it isn’t the smartest choice and all, but it also isn’t the simplest. The best route is to say: Fine bite the hand that feeds? I’ll just go feed someone else and you can just suffer.

    2. Killing the representative is not about being the easiest or the smartest. Its just pointless. It would bring absolutely no benefits to them other than getting revenge for badmouthing him (which he partially deserved and also its isn’t a reason to kill someone over it).
It wasn’t the representative who started this or was pulling the strings. Its not like he is some kind of evil criminal lord trying to extort the company. They used underhanded but still somehow legal (or at least the ones in power are making it legal this time) methods to corner them. This time the whole merchant guild is against them, forced by those other powers.
The moment the Kuzunoha company resorts to violence they lose all their remaining rights and will be dealt like a criminal organization and they can just destroy it (well or at least they can try). That moment they already abandoned being merchants.

There are really few who know their real military power so no one considers them a threat that can’t be removed by those countries and big companies.
The only way he could benefit from making them fear him is if he showcases their power in a national level and demonstrates that not even the big countries can oppose him. Only if he achieves that no one in that world would dare to go against him (not even the goddess) would let him to use that in his benefit as a merchant.
But at that point it would be already easier to just plunder and conquer and it would make all their efforts to stay hidden so far pointless.

      1. I’m not reading any of that, not just because it’s most likely completely wrong and foolish but also because my comment is 3 months old and I don’t care what you have to say.

I know that my comment is right, the only reason why you’re replying to me is because you’re being irrational because someone doesn’t agree with your misconceptions.

        Good day to you.

        :^)

        1. For someone not caring you sure wrote a long reply XD
Also are you a child or what? If you are just trying to troll thats not how its done, its supposed to be funny in some way (and not pathetic like this).

Who is the one being irrational and foolish here replying because someone disagreed with your lacking logic? I guess you are the one.
Just because you know you are wrong and can’t say anything to prove you are right you can’t just proclaim that “hurr durr i am right and you are wrong” and then expect others to agree with you..

          1. I called you a child because you act like on and i didn’t want to call you and idiot right from the start. You were the one who started insulting others.
You can’t even argue to defend your dumb ideas so instead you do nothing but insult others.
I’m only getting upset about how retarded you are.

As i said, you can’t just proclaim that you are right (when you are obviously not) without at least trying to explain why. Only dumb and/or crazy people do that and really expect that others will agree with them.
Tell me the reasons why you think you are right and i am wrong?

          2. As i said I knew I was right from the beginning.

Only a narcissistic Cretin like you will go out of their way to bother someone over something as stupid as disagreeing with them on a post. Especially after I specifically told you that I don’t care what you think.

I just said I haven’t actually read any of your posts.

So you replying to me is just you stroking your own ego.

You’re calling me a child. When you’re the one being a little cunt. Now fuck off.

          3. Are you seriously saying that to me? You are the one attacking me for having a different opinion than you. So all that you just said is just describing you.

Now i reached chapter 151 and i see no explanation of why would have been better to kill that representative.
I don’t know what were you reading but it actually confirmed what i said.
They just had to showcase their power in front of the influencial people to intimidate them a little. Just killing some merchant wont achieve that.
They had to show their power without antagonizing them too much because if they are considered too much of a threat than their only option will be to try eliminating that threat.
In the end they might just turn that representative Zara into one of their allies with Rembrandt’s help.

          4. If you’re wondering why I’m so hostile. It’s because I literally told you that the post was 3 months old and you’re questioning me on something that is explained in the novel itself. I thought you were trying to be a nuisance.

    3. Almost everytime i read this lad/gal comment … It end up as comment brawl

      *grabs a popcorn ~NomNomNom

    4. Bored and since it seems to anger you
Would like to say you are a ass and hypocritical
*wait for his answer if he is still active and hypocritical answer*

    5. He should’ve just done what the representative told him and be a madlad
      >side with demi humans and demon race
      >destroy cities one by one
      >if asked why he is siding with the demon race answer because the merchant’s guild told him to

    6. It will not solve the root of the problem thus creating new troubles and fueling more hatred pointed towards him unless you want to be hated. Since it has come to that anyway he should’ve just done what the representative told him and be a madlad
      >side with demi humans and demon race
      >destroy cities one by one
      >if asked why he is siding with the demon race answer because the merchant’s guild told him to

  52. Hm, didn’t Raidou say that his resupply method is teleportation and that he has someone who has huge magical power to use it?

    My hypothesis is this:

That representative is gonna tell Raidou’s resupply method to the other merchants.
The Big Shots will try to search for information on who that individual is.
When they fail that, they’ll just kidnap someone who has a deep knowledge on the inner workings on Kuzunoha. Tomoe and Mio are out, since even just one of them can bring total annihilation to their doorstep (And they have a bone to pick with the merchants). Guessing it’ll be Shiki or one of the dwarves.
    Makoto hears about it.
The next Chapter will read “Raidou goes nuclear on their asses”.

    1. I doubt they can kidnap Shiki, he’s a former Lich and got stronger by making a pact with Makoto, he’s the weakest out of the 4 but by no means someone like a mere hyuman can harm(even the heroes will probably get their asses hauled as well).

      1. Maybe Shiki will let them kidnap him, then use their communication method to inform Makoto where he’s been taken.

Makoto will then get Rembrandt to act on his behalf in contacting the proper authorities to help “rescue” Shiki (and catch the perpetrators red handed).

While that is being put into work, Makoto will get the rest of his subordinates to quickly figure out who is the “mastermind” behind this incident, and have them kidnapped and planted next to Shiki just before the authorities storm the location, thus making sure the one who gave the orders will be caught.

After all, they’re still some big shot merchants. We should give them enough credit not to expect them to be foolish enough to personally attend the interrogation.

      2. Would have to agree with Shiki not being all that harmable. When Mio was annoyed with him because his creation damaged her kimono she apparently skinned him, repeatedly. I doubt there are many that could do much to him without his letting them.

  53. ah! i can’t believe it, their decision was as expected…
(i said i had an idea for what’s coming last chapter)

well i can’t really take credit for something i did not publicly say…
besides… all clues/hints pointed towards that decision… so i was just walking the path the author lead me to…

thanks so much for the update!!! 😀 much appreciated… God bless you!!!

  54. Thinking clearly, he could win just with reasoning, just like oh.. you’re telling a merchant that can easily distribute medicine cheaply and transport them easily to go to sell to demons, lets see what the 4 countries will react when they know you’re sending aid to the demon side just because you’re a greedy pig bastard, by the way i have contact with the Lorel priestess and she can communicate that to the other 3 countries.

The reaction of the representative would be priceless…

    1. Hell, seeing how they are already trying to gain him as an asset because of his teaching methods alone, they leaders would likely present him the heads of teh merchant guild as compensation.

Let’s not forget, the average hyumans think all is well with the war effort, the leaders know better and are actually in quite a bind.

  55. didn’t expect to see a chapter on NU so early.

Even though I know that Mio is only being Mio. Mio needs to be less Mio from time to time. I’m glad Shiki and Tomoe did not simply comforted Makoto. Well in the end, nothing was learned from his blunder since they still licked Makoto’s wounds, he sort of contemplated his mistakes but that’s just his usual monologue that no one ever is going to hear, I was hoping he learned sth from it. I sincerely hope he finds a companion soon that will point out his mistakes frankly, unlike the current three. Shiki has potential but he has two women who would bully him again… Ema-chan would be perfect for it as shown from the previous chapter but unfortunately, REALLY UNFORTUNATELY, she is not being loved by this Author. Just why… is it because she’s not human in appearance? then maybe when Makoto finally goes to Kaleneon…

    A.n.y.way.

although there’s no progress, character growth-wise, I guess it was just me excitedly expecting too early.

Thanks for the decent and early chapter.

  56. Thank u always for ur great work…
    ^^…

204 comments and more incoming, the chapter seems heated day by day…
    :3…

And like Tsukoyomi say to u Makoto:

    BE FREE IN THIS WORLD!

    @_@…

    1. I expect a passing comment of Mio about some “bad cuisine”, burping and then a notice on a wall about the rep disappearing as they leave town XD

  57. I wonder what if Raidou puts up a notice in his shop that goes:

    “Sorry customers. We’re closing our branch here and opening up a new branch in demon territory because Merchant Association demands us to either;

    1. Disclose our shipping technology for free.
    2. Pay 90% of our profit to association for an indefinite amount of time.

If we are unable to comply to this demand, we will be slandered as demon supporter.

Since we’re going to be slandered anyway, why don’t we just sell our excellent products that will pretty much heal all injury to hyuman’s biggest enemy – demon anyway? At least we’ll get their protection.

Anyway, good luck bitches. Go blame Merchant Association, thank you and good bye.

P.S.: Your Goddess sucks by the way.”

  58. YES !!! YES!!!!!! FINALLY YES!!!! CUTTING MERCHANT AND TEACHER FLAG!!! FINALLY THX!!!!!! THX!!!!!!! god damn though i am a bit disastificed that he might be taking a side but still at least that gives a flag to run away from root and have cloose relations with that battle maniac dragon slayer haha, despite how she is i think she its good to be a follower of makoto someday, thx to that i can clearly now see the fight between Hibiki againt her haha

  59. hmm, i like the way the story is progressing, Makoto might become the object of contempt of the hyumans but earn either fear or honor and respect from the demon race.

  60. Don’t worry, I kinda like such unexpected plottwist like that, as long as it’s “reasonable”.

  61. there are many points and some ppl have doubts
1 > Mio always takes makoto`s side not because for her its an almighty absolute god, she always takes that side because she never again want to being seen like an unneded piece of shit for having other interests, meaning she always wants as possible taking his side so he will always look for her in time he thinks he its doing wrong or not, ( though indeed might be a bad direction but in reality makoto take her actions as a brake for him as well since he notice that his actions will bring specially someone down with him )

2 > makoto didnt snap there because of the menacing words of representative telling he its a demon colaborator. he didnt snap because he mentioned that he would bring trouble to rembrandt, thats why once the matter has solved he easily could take the suggestion and cut relations with rembrandt before and then simply close its shop and go open in demihumans setlements, with the notice that was merchant guilds fault. like that no more trouble for rembrandt on the looks on hyumans Aside corrupt ones of course.
    ——————
i am quite interested in the offers for eva and ruria, but i am confused now, at first i thought he might gave this shop for them to manage BUT thx to this sudden plot twist, i could say that he might takes them with him to demon race

but the problem of my doubts its that the offer came before the meeting so thats what getting me confuse

    1. I think that since the meeting with the Demon Lord was already established he had planned to ask for that place, not sure what he was going to offer as compensation thou.

But seeing how the demons really, really, don’t want Makoto to join the hyuman cause he probably has a good shot at getting that territory.

  62. Hurrah! Things are getting interesting. If it wasn’t for the sneaky suspicion that the whole situation was planned by that annoying demon race lady, I’d be fine with this scenario. I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens.

    Thank you for the chapter.

  63. This is really do feel better than meeting Princess or King. Rona, a Demon General, purpose of Makoto from such as promise to know to get quick demand(wise) to meet Demon King. At least the Church aren’t senseless like the Merchant would have which the World are still REVOLTING.

Hyuman : Greed, Lust, and Desire which is something we know from BAD NOBLE AND MERCHANT
Demon: Knowledge, Wisdom, and Fortitude which is something Demon want to gain better right off on

P.S. The 3 mental form on Demon have is something the Raidous’ students are taught by Makoto and Shiki which we pretty much know they are training and mental force in more effective than Hyuman.

  64. Thank you for the update, I always wait every single day for this XDDD!!!

Your translation was good and easy to understand, thanks for the hard work, please keep it up and stay healthy!!

  65. Thank you for the chapter!

Ouch, if they don’t play their card right, and soon, the hyumans are going to lose the war big time.

Not because of the might of Asora, simply because Makoto’s strategic mind can compensate for any strategy the hyumans, meaning the heroes, can come up with add the portals = game over for hyumans… And this is before the whole “powerful army of demi-humans and unparalleled existences like Mio, Tomoe and Shiki” thing is taken into consideration.

    1. Strategic mind? Wasn’t the Raidou Breaks chapter exactly because he doesn’t gave that?

Any ideas he can come up with, the heroes probably can too.
….well Hibiki probably can at least.

    2. I’m with the above. Raidou doesn’t have a “strategic” mind or is at least able to give strategies than any experience commander or general of an army cant in the battlefield. Ofc, he proposed some “ideas” to his students and another way of fighting but, even that, was already being utilized by tge demon army long before according to Lily.

Makoto simply doesn’t have that cunningness and even experience in commanding a legion to be able to give decent “strategies”. Not unless he had read/studied something of the sort in his previous world like Souma. At most, he will only push trough solely by his/their overwhelming power. The only reason that can turn over the hyumans or demon side’s well-thought strategy is power, brute overwhelming power, of Makoto. It’s like Ainz trampling over hundred of thousands of soldiers in one swing of his hands.

      1. Yeah I phrased that wrong, I mean his ability to teach the basics of real combat.

Which he has trough having taught children archery in the previous world and not being a complete moron.

The second is why he came up with the same combat system as the demons, as in using a strategy beyond “hit hard from the front until someone is dead”.

  66. I really wish he would go all mafia boss on the merchant guild.
horse heads on beds, implied and overt threats they can’t actually pin on him, and possibly just showing (some of) the difference in power they have.

Makoto’s biggest problem is that he is trying to play a game he does not know the rules of, has no skills to use in, and takes more time than he has.
    Answer to this problem?
    Change the game.
Few (temporary) disappearances, some choice (untraceable) assassinations, couple overt threats in the right ears.

Or if he wants to go easymode, conquer a nation and install a puppet ruler and instal your company there.
Maybe start offering mercenary services? not for open warfare, but for bodyguards and security.

    1. “Or if he wants to go easymode, conquer a nation and install a puppet ruler and instal your company there.
Maybe start offering mercenary services? not for open warfare, but for bodyguards and security.”

I believe that’s the current plan, reclaim the sisters’ lost kingdom in what would look like a show of strength to the hyumans but was in fact negotiated with the demons.

Basically have Makoto’s forces take back the fortress the heroes could not take, push until the territory of his parents, fortify the position and claim it as an independent, demi-human friendly, nation that is willing to do business with hyumans and serve as an advanced post for the war (meaning they hyumans can’t refuse).

But on the down low sells to the demons as well, while we have both sides trying to gain monopoly of Asora’s military and mercantile might.

  67. Yeah, I don’t get all of this. They don’t want you/threaten you? Who fucking cares, just leave them be forever and go for the demon’s side. Hyumans showed him time after time how shitty they are, so just leave them behind, maybe just take a few of them with you (his friends), and go over to the demon’s side. Not only that, announce you will go to them. “You don’t want my shit? You don’t want my huge help? Fuck you, I’m bringing everything over to the demons”… It’s simple, really.

  68. wha…? oh…. rather than to stay and communicate and side with ungrateful hyumans, it better to side with demons.
hahaha… what would the church do now? i remember the church doesn’t want raidou to side with another country.

let’s move … let’s move…. I can’t wait until raidou move. But i wonder if the demon king would accept raidou so easily.
    thank you!

    1. My guess is he would, if only to keep him and his people out of the war effort, also we know the demons live in a waste land, meaning whatever products he would sell would be most welcome since they have next to nothing.

Keep in mind the Demon Lord is the only person not part of Makoto’s inner circle to know he’s getting closer and closer to the “Bug” in power, the very 1st time we have the Demon Lord talk to his generals he talks about a 3rd hero who is already as powerful as him, this was a long time ago too.

      1. Correction, they lived (past tense) in the wastelands.

Then they huffed and puffed a little and blew several hyuman kingdoms away, claiming those lands for their own. Including the kingdom that was the “closest” to the bug, and her favorite. 😀

IIRC the lands that the demons currently occupy are the most fertile and rich in resources around, and one of the main reasons why hyumans want them back so much.

Of course the demons aren’t satisfied with what they have. They’ve taken too much s**t from hyumans for too long and now want to put hyumans in the position they themselves were in before.

      2. I was under the impression that without the Goddess blessing the land was more or less worthless thou?

Maybe she keeps blessing the land even if there are no hyumans living there and I missed it?

        1. Nah, she took over the world from the dragons, did a little touch up on it, then went to get a manicure or something and let things play out on their own.

She sometimes blesses hyumans when they beg her enough, but she’s not the responsible type that takes good care of her “creations” (she’s never really created anything, just taken what’s already there and changed it a little, be it the world or the hyumans – and she’s supposedly ranked as a goddess of creation among the divine, what a waste).

I mean, if the lands required constant blessing from her, then everywhere would be a wasteland when she went to sleep for a few decades (or however long that was).

      3. Bug Goddess is just like my little sister playing a sandbox, civilization sim game.
Start the game, start the civilization halfway, making me take care of the rest when she loses interest, then butting back in after I fix things up to a functional level.

  69. Did you forget? Kaleon is the hometown Eva and Ruria.
and those two are Princess 🙂
so what makoto think is, Eva and Ruria want to join him to take over Kaleon land and create a country where Hyuman and Demi-human can co-exist.
With the leader have debt to makoto will make him have backup powerful in political 🙂

  70. Okay, I get that he’s pissed at having failed here, but honestly that’s on him for the most part, even if that other guy was a jerk about it. He got outsmarted. Everything we seem to know about the demons so far puts them as even MORE cunning and manipulative though (although they have a good reason for it), so I’m not sure this will really help him out. Not to mention that making the rumors about him true is basically abandoning all the connections he’s made with humans so far, as well as his place at the university. I’m not even sure why he cares about this so much since he clearly isn’t even intending to be running a proper business in the first place.

This seems like a bad idea. He’s basically rage quitting.

    1. In a sense, yeah. But really, what sort of attachment does he have for the hyuman side that makes it worth staying and putting up with their shit? Rembrandt and his students are hardly worth living among a spoiled race for.

Demons seem more likely to show him some respect and have some basic human decency. They might be as or even more devious, but their base relationship with Makoto would be different as well so Makoto’s power can probably defend a bit better.

      1. It’s not about having an attachment to hyumans or not.
It’s about not running away the second there’s some pushback.
He has the resources, the skills, the personel and the connections to really make himself a power player in the local economical and political landscape, heck, he can do that while remaining mostly unknown to anyone but some keyplayers.
There’s also the fact that his disappearance would cause some questions now (and probably cause trouble to his hyuman allies/friends), not to mention that just leaving hyuman side would mean going back on his decision to be neutral in the conflict.

He has everything he needs to win the game he joined in when becomming a merchant, if he chooses to utilize them.
I doubt he will, but he could.

Which is a pity, because i think the story of Makoto becomming a smuggler/mafia boss while keeping public storefronts available on both sides (with different names) and also training students to pass the time and give him cover as he educates himself about the world could be lot more interesting than the story i suspect we are getting.

      2. Spoiled race? Besides maybe the occasional comment on his appearance (which monsters and demons have been doing as well, I might add), the only other real problems he’s had so far is just being suspicious of his incredibly suspicious and mysterious circumstances, a problem which has only gotten as bad as it has because he handled the whole situation so poorly. Besides that, what other problems has he faced? Too many marriage proposals? A guy trying to sabotage him he was completely oblivious to the existence of until right now? Kinda boring tournaments because they suck at strategy?

And I don’t think we have any basis to think that the demon race will be better or show any kind of respect. It’s more likely that he’d be even MORE of an outsider there. We’ve seen nothing to imply that demons are any more civil, and in fact have only have evidence to the contrary.

The one redeeming feature of the demon’s side would be that he wouldn’t need to hide himself from the goddess, a point which becomes a lot less appealing when you consider that this means being drawn into WAR with said goddess.

      3. Umu. Good point. I’ve been assuming that the demon race would welcome Makoto, but that in itself is getting ahead, isn’t it?

I think it’s because anytime we get the perspective of the demon races, they’re a lot more…how do I put it…earnest? Honest? They have a flavor of only pursuing war for self-survival while hyumans have as a whole been very self-entitled.

      4. I disagree that his latest decision is ‘running away’. He made it look or narrated it like he was but c’mon… doing ‘business’ with the ‘enemy’ is a plan. A direct challenge and made rationally at that, with consideration of the feedback & meeting he had with Tomoe, Mio & Shiki. Rational. And that is still manning up. And you call that cowardice?

      5. Psychronia – Our biggest interaction with demons so far has been Rona, who is the very definition of dishonest. But you’ve read the latest chapter by now, so you know that. We know the goddess is against them, but they seem just as genocidal against humans. Really the blame seems to belong with the goddess (although we don’t really know why she does what she does either), but otherwise humans and demons both just seem to be just generally genocidal.

BlackWing – Yeah, it’s cowardice, or at least a huge mistake. He is 100% running away. He messed up, got called out on it, and now he’s running. He’s enacting this “plan” because his hand was forced, not because it’s a good idea. In fact, it’s a bad idea, as I’ve argued.

  71. He should’ve done that from the very beginning. Join the demons, that is. I mean, think about it: the absolute leader of the hyumans (the Goddess) is your absolute nemesis. After knowing all the shit she did, it’s clear that the demons are clearly the “good guys” of this world. Also, that final thought of his: 2 heroes for the hyumans, 1 for the demons. I think it would’ve been way better if it was like that from the very beginning. Hyumans are 99% scum, after all. Not saying that there isn’t scum amongst the demons, but I really think they’re way better than them, at least they’re not on the Goddess’s side. That’s a good start.

  72. Thanks for the chapter when I read raido break , was going to college with a bitter taste in the mouth by the fact that this chapter showed how the world actually works , however save Reigo -senpai saved the day with the double post, Obrigadooo love this history more .

  73. Thx as always..

    3 chapter in 2 days.. sweet … 😛
The place tomoe said really is kaleneon.. i thought it was a bit stretched, but my guess is correct..

Rather than picking one of the countries and being made their spy/lackey, better to revive his parents country and keep being free 😀

  74. So Makoto goes to the Demon’s route, can’t say I didn’t see it coming.
But frankly that’s a little coward of him, there are many way to deal with blackmailing in business like: siding with the church, offer alliance to Empire/Kingdom, legalizing the production from Asora via Adventurer Guild with the help from Root, sabotage the merchant guild’s fame so no-one gonna believe in them.
Naive with kindness is a sin, you know. However, we may have some good story-arc toward the demons soon so all it’s good.

P/S: I don’t think Makoto will siding with the Demon, he might rebuild Kaleneon and declare to become the third side in this world.

      1. he means he is running away from the merchant guild, with his power alone he can force the merchant into a corner but Makoto doesn’t want to use any underhanded techniques and also doesn’t want to join the war so he doesn’t utilize it (and also he doesn’t know how he is perceived by others so he doesn’t now how to use it).. and also he is not trusting root 100% so he cant use him for backing

      1. I believe that siding with either the church or government aren’t something underhand, and legalizing the Asora’s goods is a good ideal to protect the existence of Asora itself.
And frankly, if Makoto himself want to become a merchant, he will need to learn how to dirty his hands.

    1. pride, bravery and hardheadedness can’t make you happy, cowardice on the other hand sometimes can so think about it

  75. Hype2 the tension is increase hufff hufff…. i can wait when makoto reveal his power openly without ring hahahaha

  76. Joining the demons is all well and good, but… what about Ema-chan? Her race was decieved and killed be the demon race, I think Makoto should give some explanation regarding that…

  77. still all the hyuman and demon still don’t know who that makoto is the devil but we all know that he going to see the demon king. and a certain women and a kid dragon will be scream and kick on seeing makoto face.

  78. All I can say is things look like it will go in an interesting direction soon I look forward to the later chapters…

  79. now the react of the princess lily, the king and the 2nd prince, lorel union, his student, rembrandt, and the student can’t finish they training with raidou and shiki. (like chun-li and mai shiranui who never be able to finish they training)

  80. well, i think makoto should have someone who is arrogant enough (toward others, not makoto and family of course), and smart to let people know their position. kinda reminds me how the mc in tales of demon and god.

in this story, yes, makoto is too naive. can’t be help though, he was just a high school student. i think it would be good if he had another person (or dragon) under him to help straighten up his stand.
